ok can someone advise me on what to do. I have gone to two different eye doctors over the past two years and both have given me multiple prescriptions that are “wrong,” in the sense that they don’t give me clear vision (it’s blurry, I have to squint a little bit all the time, I can’t read fine print or see low contrast images very well, and I have to have a ton of lights on very bright to read at night). the one I just went to spent literally no more than two minutes doing the “1 or 2” thing, and even though I kept saying “it’s still blurry, it’s still not clear, I still can’t read below the giant letters,” he finalized the prescription anyway. unsurprisingly when the trials came in I could tell immediately that they were really off, to the point where I didn’t feel comfortable driving in them. then he ordered me a different pair which were somehow even worse. when I called to ask he told me kinda impatiently that it was impossible to give me 20/20 vision and 20/40 was the best he could do… but like honestly I’m not even sure I’m getting 20/40 vision given how off these feel? I also don’t know if he’s full of shit or right? I don’t want to spend a bunch of money doing exams all over again at a new eye doctor if it’s true that they can’t fix my vision or even get it to something I can kinda live with. aghhh I’m just so tired of having eye strain ALL the time and not being able to like, idk, read the menu board when I walk into a restaurant to order food.

is doc qualified to do trans surgery?
I'd say she's qualified to at least assist, but it's not her specialty. Fleet soldiers would take leave to go to a Mainfleet hospital (WAY more built up than a medbay, and with a lot of high tech equipment) if they wanted to get the surgery :)

I feel bad bringing this up because this is my first time visiting your blog (about to indulge in your masterlist though) but is there a reason you write exclusively in small text?
It possibly hasn’t occurred to you, but it’s a bit harder and/or more painful to read (particularly for anyone with visual impairments or who just plain ole need glasses).
Please ignore if this has been answered before or is a bother. Just thought I’d bring it to your attention.
no bother at all! you're right, honestly. the main reason is stylistic--the small text plus the "x / y / z" headers i use are there to make my posts uniform + recognizable in the wild. at least that was the intention when i was starting out. i also kind of liked that it put more text on the screen at a time.
i can see the need to replace it, though. i appreciate you bringing this to my attention!

I headcanon that Ranpo has strabismus (aka walleye) and that's part of why his eyes are closed. It made people take him more seriously and he was also embarrassed by it. He still keeps his eyes closed because it helps him not overanalyze everything, but he's not as embarrassed anymore.

justifying the fact that the inquisitor drinking from the well in my world state didn’t come up at all throughout the events of veilguard by comparing it to my own experience… I had double vision for probably about 8 years straight and I was able to just ignore it, to the point that I’d forget I had it unless I actively thought about it? so I’m saying my inquisitor has gotten so good at ignoring the voices of ancient elves that she just forgets they’re there lol

my body doesn’t Hate me, per se. It just Loves being an annoying little shit
#my post#i feel a little bad about complaining about it sometimes#because it’s not like i have super serious afflictions#and we’ve gotten some handled through this or that#but. i’ve just got. such an extensive collection of#‘‘bodily things that would be fine individually albeit annoying; but i’ve got all of them so it makes for a frustrating existence’’#subacute eczema. the worst of the bunch. only on my hands but very itchy and still eczema#scapular winging or whatever they call it when you can pop out your scapulas at will.#not very bad at all. the least offensive. just aches sometimes and makes me worry#some tinnitus. a tad annoying. i hear it most when it’s quiet or i’m inside. sometimes it flares but not often. tuning it out isn’t too har#chronic rhinitis. i got some surgery(?) for this one. lotta nose sprays.#my nose is almost always congested and runny and going anywhere without tissues is dangerous.#dry lips. also not altogether that bad it’s just annoying and it gets cracked and sometimes painful to open my mouth too wide ig.#we manage that one well with whatever lip products my sister gave me. it’s not very bad#dandruff? maybe? is it dandruff or just scalp skin? i got no clue man#and you’re like. ‘‘okay you’re right those are all quite annoying. but is it really that bad?’’#and i’m like ‘‘No. but have you Considered that i have to deal with them all at Once?’’#BUT THAT. ISN’T EVEN IT. ‘CAUSE IT’D BE ONE THING IF MY BODY WAS JUST BUILT LIKE THAT. BUT MY BRAIN HATES ME TOO.#BOOM. dermatillomania!! i pick at my acne a little. under my nails. the hard skin under my nails.#my scalp! until it’s itchy and there’s a little bit of blood! i gently pull at my eyelashes a little bit and rub my eyes.#and. get this. dry and flaky bits of skin. GUESS WHERE I HAVE FLAKY BITS OF SKIN. OH THAT’S RIGHT: THE SUBACUTE ECZEMA ON MY HANDS.#it’s better now it really is but i have spent hours picking at it after i’m already all set for bed. 2-3 hrs over a trash can picking at it#‘‘yeah okay that’s bad. but-’’ BOOM. ADHD or at least fidgeting. i fidget most by picking at idk All of the aforementioned.#‘‘oof yeah that does actually suck-’’ BOOM. OCD!!! now that one is the REAL kicker that one fucking hates me#just take all of the above and assume i have some vaguely annoying compulsion tied to it.#and it wouldn’t be so annoying sometimes if it weren’t for the fact that i deal with it all every day kind of#so correction: my body doesn't necessarily hate me it’s just that my body has shaken hands made deals about which exact disorders and bodil#irritations i need to collectively make living incredibly annoying.#thank you for coming to my TED talk. cue the world’s smallest violin or whatever

Lmao, you really said, "I will have my canon transman! One way or another!"/lh
Nah, but really, you go off :p
Moira deserves more content 💜
I will, and if it can't be Jill (who I still wanna root for because she's still giving the vibe) it's gonna be the 20 year old afraid of fire arms who I've known for like... an hour.
Plus Moira would probably model himself after his dad, and I can actually tolerate Barry. Mostly because I don't remember him very well from the first game but I'm sure he was typical Macho Man Tough Shit.
Even though Moira is 100% giving Emo boy and not Macho Man.
(That said I promise nothing in terms of content)
It's not like I don't have transmen headcanons for characters that already looks like dudes, but I think a transman who hasn't actually started transitioning at all is... something. I dunno.

I was diagnosed with an eye condition that my doctor said was incurable now that I’m 23, because it can only be fixed during ages 8-15 while your brain neuroplasticity is still high. While you’re still young and available to change.
It has me thinking about time-worn habits and attitudes; am I stuck as who I am for the same reason? I’ve been trying so hard to be a better, softer and kinder person, but it just feels too late now. Like I’ve run the same neural pathways for so long that behaving otherwise will always be a struggle. Like all my friends became kind, wonderful people early on, but I’ll always be bitter because I’ve always been bitter.
My doctor told me to give up training my eyes because there’s no way I can fix things now; she says my brain isn’t that flexible anymore. But nevertheless, I think I’ll keep trying.

I'm looking at baby pics of myself instead of sleeping and like, I was 3 days old in my first pic with earrings, 8 months old with glasses, and three days after the glasses pic (if the timestamps are right) introduced to the pool
also very interesting for me to see that 3 months into being alive one of my eyes start turning in, and by the time I started wearing glasses it was like this

ID: Simple drawing of two eyes, the one to the left is looking at the camera and the other inwards, so that only about a quarter of the pupils is showing. End ID
