okay,so i should elaborate:

in pmd 2 there are items known as exclusive items, you get them by opening reward chests at xatu appraisal.

most of these items are harmless things like cards, bows, scarfs, or some kind of gem.

-however, a non insignificant portion of these items are body parts

mostly things like hair and claws-

but there's also things like tails, horns, and teeth-

there's also things that have plausible deniability that could potentially be a body part like crests, hearts, or the leaves and twigs of grass type pokemon, or "dust" (potentially ashes?).

you have to get some of these by engaging in croagunk's swap shop, and croagunk is regarded as a bit of a "sketchy" character in the guild

honestly i kid about organ trafficking, but in reality as a kid i thought it was harmless and these were just pokemon family heirlooms or remains, mostly because you get them from what looks like treasure chests that wild pokemon drop when defeated.

considering that you need appraisal to even open these boxes, whatever is inside must be very important to the pokemon it originally belonged to, but often it's just things like teeth, hair, or some kind of regular item like a non exclusive item like a scarf or gummi.

so what gives?

well, my theory is that these are simply either familiar remains or heirlooms, it'd not unheard of even in the real world to keep body parts or things owned by loved ones or significant people. if you have a parent like mine that kept your baby teeth, family's ashes, or are familiar with the concept of a "1st class relic", it's something like that.

these are the kind of thing that can be considered "treasure" to a lot of people and as dark as it is to say aloud and over-analyze, it's really not something that shocking or even be something most kids would be upset by or even unfamiliar with.

personally i just think its neat and another nice example of implied world building and fun to think about and fill in the blanks yourself.

so yea, that's my take

Joe taking Ming's deal is the most relatable moment I've had with Joe because I, too, would pick the devil I already know. Mixing finances with friends is always dicey, and he would still owe them. With Ming, it's business and he doesn't have to worry about ruining a friendship. He can hate Ming, but as long as Ming runs him his money, he'll continue to do his job because this is just another stand-in job.

ironically i love thrifting but ive never thought about using ebay, do you have any tips or keywords you use on it to find deals and shifty stuff/wording to look out for?

honestly I don't find ebay to be shifty for buying stuff! people are scared about using it sometimes and I think it's a little funny lol I guess the tip would be that if you search for an item with vague enough terms, you'll get some SHEIN-esque mass produced clothes muddying the results. and you know it when you see it, because those listings look like shit btw. this type of thing:

like, these are real listings and everything, and you'd get the product, but they are obviously not what you're looking for. you can ignore these, but if you want to filter them out, you can just narrow the search to SPECIFICALLY pre-owned items.

There isn't really any wording to look out for-- the only other thing would just be to make sure the stuff you get can be returned, bc sellers can specify whether or not they'll take the items back!

In this AU, Caine is a human who works as a bartender, and also often hosts the bar's open mic nights. While clearing out his Dad's stuff after his untimely death, Caine finds an old computer with an unfinished version of an MMO his dad was working on. It never went public, but somehow, there are 6 players online. Those players are the circus members, who are stuck within the game.

Since we're criticizing the fr staff let me just say that the special treatment that y1 (and y2 to some extent) festival items get is frankly a bit ridiculous. Like literally whats so different and special about them that they cant for any reason go into the spare inventory crate? Either retire all fest items forever or put them all in the crate, don't just pick and choose! Makes it seem like anyone who joined after 2014 had just worse fest items that aren't worth keeping exclusive. Sorry I wasn't here to collect my light sprite or whatever i was -checks calendar- 11 years old. Guess I'll have to save up 200k gems! (or whatever the price is nowadays)
