ExAblate® Receives European CE Mark for Treatment of Adenomyosis

Non-invasive procedure now available where options were limited; InSightec innovation continues to expand  treatment  choice in  Women’s HealthTIRAT CARMEL, Israel (June 23, 2010) -- InSightec Ltd. announced today that its ExAblate® system has received an expanded  CE Mark certification for “ablation of soft tissue for treatment of benign tumors, including uterine fibroids and adenomyosis” using Magnetic Resonance guided Focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS) technology.  The certification was granted on the basis of clinical evidence showing that focused ultrasound is safe and effective in treating symptomatic adenomyosis, which included published data of patients with the condition.  The certification body KEMA Quality agreed that treatment with InSightec’s system resulted in statistically significant improvement in subjective symptoms, and significant volume reduction of the treated mass.Adenomyosis is a benign gynecologic growth characterised by the presence of ectopic endometrial glands and stroma in the myometrium and hyperplasia (excessive cell reproduction) of adjacent smooth muscles.  It manifests with uterine myoma-mimicking symptoms such as heavy menstrual bleeding, pain, and diffuse uterine enlargement. Hang on, no Villain Event reruns this month?! Are they stopping those now that the Villain Arc is over?!? I mean, all I’ll miss out of that is the 20 4-star tickets for whatever Lodge pair I unlock in a given month, but even so, that’s gonna screw over newer players who may not have EXed their Legendary Adventures pairs/expanded their grids! Unless DeNA plans to make them EXable normally going forward…

I doubt they'll never rerun any of them again, it's likely just a month without because of how much else they're doing. I don't really expect them to make the Legendary pairs always available for EX, but if they want to add that to the main story I sure won't say no.

High-speed 3D shooter Wing of Darkness will launch digitally for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on February 25, 2021 worldwide for $29.99 / 2,980 yen, publisher Clouded Leopard Entertainment and developer Production Exabilities announced. It will support English, Japanese, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), Korean, French, Italian, German, and Spanish subtitle language options, and Japanese audio.

Ando so valjean decides to wake her up take her to a nice stroll and so her the chain gang without warning to show her that she is fine in her life..and then she starts saying that the convicts were monsters(like in the 2000 mini series) and she doesn't want to be never near one...that is really a plan that backfire...but in the book they don't expect to see a chaingang and valjean is freaked out and shocked for days(a little ptsd?)

We have the must butchered version of the gobreau house version.... cosette and valjean just recognise thernadier but valjean goes any way so he can pay them and finash with them i think...we don't no anything of patro-minette and the unique characters...everything happens to quick to have suspense and character development,the badassery,the bad guys plan,the humour and the epic awesome lines and scenes(the shoujo cosette anime had 2-3 episodes more than an hour to give an accourate gobreau house and still left some thinks out) this version is only around 5 minutes

We have "sexiness" in this version for some reason..... with marius wet dream about cosette turning into a wet dream about eponine...with eponine do some kind of soft striptease for marius and grantair and courfeyrac taking marius to a brothel where eponine is also there

Davies think the women in miserable are boring so to make eponine intresting he make her a sex object who works as prostitute sometime to survive but tease marius with her sexiness and she is around 15 years old you perve!! It's not ok to try to make sexual abuse minor victims sexy!! And he makes her far les intresting

Finaly my favourite character javert i don't think he is saveble in this version... he is your clasick boring obsest villain!! No character no charm no relatabillity..he just obsest and has a fine position full of honours and stole the 2012 movie costume from russell crowe...it's not like policeman where really low class poor people outside of society hated by almost everyone and that made javert one of the miserables in the book along the other characters...but no here he is a powerful man with no character...i have seen but marvel villains with more character and complexity....and his only hope was the gobreau house to shine but they lostvthe oportunity...we didn't se him burn his coat or oferring his hat or any of his sarcasm

There is no hope for the series and Davies is cleary a perv

High-Flying 3D Shooter Wing of Darkness Delayed to June 3

  3D shooter Wing of Darkness—which comes from developer Production Exabilities and publisher Clouded Leopard Entertainment—was previously announced for a February 25 launch on PS4, Switch, and PC. Now the worldwide digital release has been delayed, pushing it back to June 3 to give the developers more time to improve a bunch of the game's features.

  Among the planned improvements are enhanced visuals, tweaked cutscenes, difficulty balancing, gameplay and design adjustments, and some final compatibility adjustments. 

  Beyond the global digital release, Wing of Darkness will be availably physically in Japan and Asia in both standard and limited edition form. The latter packs the game with a bunch of extras, including a new illustration of leads Klara and Erika by Haruhiko Mikimoto.

Update

Now I’ve actually watched the series and I have little mixed feelings about it. I’ve been reminded that first impressions can be misleading. It was not as terrible as I feared it would be. As for being historically accurate, well I’m not an exprert, just a casual enthusiat, so I don’t go into the details. I found this article by Colin Woodard who was involved in the series, depicting some of the errors in the series. He writes that for the most part it is factual.

Truth be told I have more issue with it’s tone rather than what it tells. I just can’t get rid of the feeling that it tries to potray historical criminals as liberal, slave-freeing rebels who stole from the rich. Yeah no. For exable, when Blackbeard captured the slave ship La Condore he did take slaves into his grew but those he didn’t take were given back to the slavers and were later sold. Just.... don't romantice historical killers like this if you're not presenting it it as fiction.

All in all, this might be good to wake people’s interest in pirate history but it really only works as an introduction. It doesn’t give a complete image of the golden age of piracy, nor the entire history of piracy.

At the end of the day I was more bothered by the stuff they left out. There should have been more episodes so they would have had more time to cover the era more widely and maybe cut-off those “wannabe-black-sails”-scenes. Here’s few interesting things that I noticed missing:

Mary Read

They introduced Anne Bonny, but Mary Read, the other female pirate in male disquise who sailed with her and Rackham, got totally ignored. It bongers me why she wasn’t even mentioned since I think Read has an interesting story. Her mother dressed her as a boy for financial gain and Read later joined to the brittish military still in male disguise. Later on she joined Rackham and his pirate gang when her ship was captured where she meets another female pirate in disquise.

I think they should have given also more time to how their story ended, with these two women fighting while majority of Rackham’s men, himself included, where too drunk to fight. They did snuck in Anne Bonny’s famous words to Rackham, but she said them in Rackham’s execution, not during their capture if I’m correct.

Blackbeard’s flagship Queen Anne’s Revenge

I don’t remember the ship being mentioned once. I would want to imagine that the slaveship Teach was shown to blunder in the show was La Concorde, a french slaveship which would become Blackbeard’s flagship Queen Anne’s revence after the ship was taken but the officer on the ship seemed to be brittish.

Now, QAR is a key element when we talk about Blackbeard’s public image at the time because it was part of his “pirate brand”. People didn’t only fear him, they feared his flag ship. QAR was an impressive frigate with assumed 40 cannons based on some histocial accounts (30 has been found on the shipwreck) with up to 300 men and a huge storage for carco. An avarage merchant ship had little change to fight against this floating fortress.

In the series I was left with the impression that Revenge was the only one of Teach’s ships mentioned by name.

Blockade of Charleston in May 1718

I really liked that they included the mercury threatment in the series, since a urethral syringe was found from the shipwreck of QAR. Although we can’t be sure that it was specifically used to cure syphilis nor that Teach had it. Woodard points in his article this syphilis theory is due to an event, which has been dupped as one of the boldest crimes in history of piracy: the Blockade of Charleston. Sadly they ignored that this happened.

In May 1718 Blackbeard’s fleet surrounded the port of Charleston for a week, took some hostages and demanded a chest full of medicines as a ransom or Teach would have the hostages’ decapitated heads sent to the governor. After some preasuring Teach was finally given what he wanted. The reason why the pirates wanted a medicine chest isn’t known for sure, but it’s possibile that there was some sort of epidemic (props some sort of STD) among Blackbeard’s grew and maybe even their infamous commondore had it too. We’re left with speculation.

Whatever happened to Stede Bonnet after 1717 in Nassau

It’s almost comedic how Bonnet just disappears from the series after his first appearence “lending” his ship Revenge to Blackbeard while really his and Blackbeard’s paths would meet multible times during their careers. Like in the blockade of Charleston for examble. Bonnet wasn’t a skilled commander though, and he would wind up staying in Blackbeard’s ship as a “guest” after his men abandoned him for some time

Obiosly there are more things that were left out, like some other famous pirates of the era and piracy in other parts of the world but I only wanted to mention few things.

A rant from a pirate enthusiast

I watched the first episode of Netflix's pirate docuseries The Lost Pirate Kindom.

Not even 4 minutes in and I'm already eager to keelhaul the series.

Firstly it feels like the series does not make a difference between what is a known fact, and what is a legend. History of Piracy is plagued by myths and legends which are not true but the majority still believe them because no one ever fact-checks pirate knowledge. And some things are impossible to prove for the lack of writen records, and even when there is one, they can be false or biased. For examble the "bible of pop culture pirate knowledge" the General History of Robberies and murders of the most notorious pirates (1721) by Charles Johnson has fictional pirates in it and the so called "origin stories" of some famous pirates are made up. That's why it is so important to remind the audience about the unsure nature of pirate history. What's fact and what's fiction is sometimes uncertain. And this documentary doesn't even attempt to consider the nuance based on the first episode.

But this isn't even my biggest proplem. I have an issue how in the intro they were romantizing pirates as "Robin Hoods of the sea". It's the same old Hollywood spin on pirates as antihero outlaws who stand for liberty and eguality like most of pirate media potrays them (when they are not the villains!)

Don't get me wrong. I personally love the thought of that and like it in fiction. But historically speaking it's utter bullshit.

Sure, pirates had cool things like practicing small scale "democracy" in ships and extra payments for those who lost a limb in battle.

Like I said, cool, but does not remove the fact that real pirates were ruthles killers and r*pists who spent all the coin earned on rum and women (and pirates did not threat them nicely) until they're broke and go blunder some more. They did not free slaves in the name of human rights. Sure, some slaves were freed, some other taken to be part of the crew (it is said that a huge portion of Blackbeard's crew was former slaves) but pirates were also quilty of slave traiding, since it was all about financial interest and convinience in the end. Heck, Barthalomew Roberts, the "gentleman pirate who drank tea instead of rum" worked in a slave ship Princess before becoming a pirate. Needless to say the relationship between piracy and slavery was complicated.

The life of a pirate was about sailing weeks, maybe months with no pay, squeezed together with maybe a hundred sweaty, smelly men in relatively small space, eating dry crackers with pesticides in them only to steal some sugar and be hanged later. Most of pirates died during the first 1-3 years of their pirating careers either in the gallows, in battle (or to infected wounds) or maybe to a disease among other things.

It's easy to paint more cruel pirates who used explicit torture like Francois l'Olonnais or Edward Low as villains and some other less cruel pirates as heroes, but that wasn't the case in real life. I don't have a proplem with romantizing pirates in fiction, but don't go telling me that that naive image of pirates was the reality.
