Strange how when you have something to offer others aren't open to receiving it, then you are asked but have nothing to give. The paradox of giving and receiving.

"Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him.
Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me."

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

Dee-1's Support of Kendrick Lamar Leads to Backlash from the New Orleans Community
In the realm of hip-hop, loyalty to one’s hometown often plays a pivotal role in an artist’s identity and relationship with their audience. This dynamic was recently exemplified in the conflict following Dee-1’s vocal support of Kendrick Lamar over fellow New Orleans native Lil Wayne, particularly in the context of who should perform at the Super Bowl. The fallout from Dee-1’s endorsement of…

not to be controversial bc I know this is like…not in line with shifting opinions on fanfic comment culture but if there’s a glaring typo in my work I will NOT be offended by pointing it out. if ao3 fucks up the formatting…I will also not be offended by having this pointed out…
‘looking forward to the next update’ and ‘I hope you update soon!’ are different vibes than a demand, and should be read in good faith because a reader is finding their way to tell you how much they love it. I will not be mad at this.
‘I don’t usually like this ship but this fic made me feel something’ is also incredibly high praise. I’m not going to get mad at this.
even ‘I love this fic but I’m curious about why you made [x] choice’ is just another way a reader is engaging in and putting thought into your work.
I just feel like a lot of authors take any comment that’s not perfectly articulated glowing praise in the exact manner they’re hoping to receive it in bad faith.
fic engagement has been dropping across the board over the last several years, and yes it’s frustrating but it isn’t as though I can’t see how it happens. comment anxiety can be a real thing. the last thing anyone wants to do is offend an author they love, and that means sometimes people default to silence.
idk where I’m going with this I guess aside from saying unless a comment is outright attacking me I’m never going to get mad at it, and I think a lot of authors should feel the same way. ESPECIALLY TYPOS PLZ GOD POINT OUT MY TYPOS.

Kindness flows like leaves in the gentle breeze, given freely. Can you only live in the shadow of kindness? Spreading it to others but never feeling it's lovely gift. A gift is given but must also be received. When you graciously receive, you give others the gift of giving allowing kindness to freely flow in it's own breeze.

Graeme McDowell receives ban, fine for using banned substance, LIV Golf
Northern Ireland’s Graeme McDowell was suspended by LIV Golf for next week’s event at Greenbrier after violating the Saudi-backed tour’s anti-doping policy by using a nasal decongestant with a banned substance. The 2010 US Open champion used a decongestant at LIV’s June event in Nashville that contained the banned substance levo-methamphetamine. As a result, the 45-year-old captain of LIV team…

ALSO IMPORTANT TO NOTE, people dropping mad mad sums of money on gfms and charities and stuff are extremely impressive but that DOES NOT MEAN that putting like $5 towards someone's fund or any good cause is any less valuable, a lot of crowdfunding is about momentum and those single digits add up super fast, you do not need to be Rolling In The Dough to make someone's day!! moving the dial at all is extremely positive!!
