"Run"
Honestly, I really pushed myself and my limits with this drawing, cause I never draw backgrounds. This time I HAD to make the exception, cause this is another tribute piece to "The Lines We Cross" by @whisker-biscuit
Ive planned to make one more piece of that nature, since Chapter 12 had one more scene I really liked, but we'll see.
I really overworked myself with this one and I think it was worth it. Hope you like it as much as I do!

If you became super rich and could design your own house, but could only add THREE unnecessary/random/expensive home additions (like how people will have bowling alleys, movie theatres, closets with museums of shoes, car display rooms, spa rooms, wine cellars, etc. in their mansions) - what three would you choose?
#I think I would have: an indoor pool (but like heavily customized with a faux weather system so I could get the feeling of swimming in#rain or fog or snow etc.). a very small arcade consisting only of skee-ball and DDR machines. and an old Library Room with authentic#historical furniture/interior design to store old books/tapestries/study room equipment/whatever other antiques I'd collect. It'd be#like some fully intricate movie set or something that would feel completely like stepping into another world/time.#Though I might would trade out the arcade for a roller skating rink.. i DO love skating....#And I wouldve put rock climbing gym because I love indoor rock climbing but.. as I understand it they have to change out the rock things#on the walls every once in a while so that you can have new routes and it doesnt get boring. and I'd rather have an activty room thats like#self sustaining and doesnt require me to hire some person to come switch things around once every month. Otherwise I would#totally do that instead.#I'm also personally not counting ''craft'' type stuff like having a pottery room kiln sort of thing because#that doesn't count as 'unnessecary' to me. since stuff like that would not at all be just a hobby I 'happen to#do sometimes for fun'#but would definitely be a career sort of thing. Like if I had the money for a fully stocked sculpture room and and a sewing room#with a good machine and etc. then I would literally be professionally selling pottery and designing clothing and etc.#so I wouldn't count it as 'just a random side room I dont need' etc.#The same way that if I played tennis professionally or as a very intense hobby that takes up most of my life/time#then I wouldn't count having a tennis court in your house to practice in as 'unncesscarry' etc.#wow that is the worst I have ever spelt that word ghbjh#Un Cess Carry#ALSO would obviously have an underground bunker of some sort with food and emergency supplies which also does not count as unnecessary to m#since it's literally like... survival.. And I thought most health organizations literally reccomend that even#the common person has a small 'go bag' prepared in their house. and like an evacuation plan in case of fire or other things#It WOULD be an unnecessary rich person thing to have a full on undergRound village or something stocked with 9000 guns and#whaetever. but I think just a basic emergency room with basic supplies could still be counted under the 'not unnecessary' requirement.#Like I would say that a sprawling courtyard of flower gardens and fountains and hedge mazes that takes up like a hundred thousand#dollars a year in maintenance would count as one of the three 'unnecessary and expensive' things. But having a small garden in the#back yard with a few planters in a little greenhouse or whatever would not. The 'excessiveness' of the thing matters lol#ANYWAY!!!#Just curious what other peoples Three Main things would be... hrrmm

we go through this every hurricane season but the way people will find any excuse to point the finger at the victims of natural disasters and say cruel shit like "fuck around and find out" like it's not horrifying having to leave behind your home and all your belongings and potentially your pets with the full knowledge that there might not be anything to come back to after... ignoring that there are people that don't have a car or the money to evacuate, ignoring disabled people who have no way to get out, ignoring people that can't find places for their pets to shelter, ignoring people that have medical equipment that can't be moved or replaced, etc... and even if someone stays behind solely because they want to, they still don't deserve to suffer.
as someone who worked extensively in disaster response previously, it is not easy to "just" evacuate, and the relief that comes afterwards is intentionally difficult to obtain. and already the forces that be are trying to spin this narrative that the victims are at fault, to put the blame on them so that if (probably when) people are forced to resort to looting (because the aid never comes) everyone will nod and agree that they're all bad people and deserved it... rather than acknowledging the fact that there was no attempt to make the evacuation accessible and safe for everyone, no guarantee that aid will be waiting for them when they return to a home that has been swept away... no empathy for the fact that these people's entire lives are potentially destroyed with no safety net to catch them.

Accessible Mobility for All: The Critical Role of Evacuation Stair Chairs in Emergencies
Tumblr media
In any emergency scenario, the safety and preservation of human life must be paramount. For individuals with mobility challenges, such as those with temporary injuries or post-surgery limitations, safe and effective evacuation becomes significantly more complex. This is where evacuation stair chairs play an essential role, ensuring inclusive emergency protocols. Used widely in hospitals, nursing homes, and public facilities, evacuation chairs help individuals safely descend stairs, minimizing risk and expediting the evacuation process. Here, we delve into their design, functionality, and benefits in emergency settings.
Designing for Ease and Efficiency
The engineering behind evacuation stair chairs reflects a blend of thoughtful design and practical functionality. These chairs are tailored for effortless use and ease of operation, catering specifically to individuals with temporary injuries, such as fractured limbs or post-operative conditions.
Ergonomic Design for Comfort and Safety Evacuation chairs are built to offer maximum comfort for users while prioritizing safety. Equipped with secure seating, harness systems, and adjustable support, they ensure users are comfortably restrained during evacuation. The intuitive design includes controls accessible from different angles, enabling trained personnel to maneuver the chair seamlessly down a flight of stairs without causing additional discomfort or stress to the person being transported.
Smooth Descent with Trained Assistance A key feature of these chairs is their ability to provide a controlled descent. With the help of trained operators, individuals are transported down staircases at a steady and safe pace. This controlled movement is essential for maintaining the well-being of the person in the chair and ensuring the evacuation process remains orderly.
Reducing Physical Strain on Caregivers
Emergencies often place immense pressure on caregivers, who may need to assist multiple individuals under strenuous conditions. Evacuation stair chairs alleviate much of this burden, allowing caregivers to assist in evacuation without the risk of physical strain.
Minimizing Risk for Both Patients and Caregivers The secure structure of these chairs reduces the chances of injury during evacuation. Unlike makeshift solutions such as dragging or lifting, which pose significant risks, the use of evacuation stair chairs ensures that both the caregiver and the patient are protected from potential harm.
No Need for Strenuous Lifting The lightweight yet robust construction of these chairs means that operators can navigate stairs with ease. This feature is especially valuable in healthcare settings, where staff already face high physical demands. The reduction in manual lifting lessens the risk of workplace injuries and allows for a safer evacuation environment for all involved.
Enhanced Safety Features
In emergency scenarios, safety is non-negotiable. Evacuation stair chairs come equipped with multiple safety features that support a secure and effective evacuation process.
Advanced Safety Mechanisms Modern evacuation chairs include anti-slip tracks that provide stability and minimize the risk of slipping during use. Secure harness systems keep users firmly in place, preventing any movement that could lead to additional injury. Additionally, easy-to-use braking mechanisms help control the chair’s descent, allowing operators to pause or slow down as needed, ensuring safety on steep or narrow staircases.
Effective Evacuation Assurance The combination of these safety features facilitates an evacuation that is not only swift but secure. A 2023 report highlighted that evacuation chairs with these advanced features could enhance evacuation speeds by up to 40%, underlining their critical role in emergency preparedness.
A Temporary Solution for Temporary Needs
For individuals recovering from injuries or undergoing temporary mobility challenges, evacuation stair chairs offer a practical and effective solution.
Support During Recovery These chairs are particularly beneficial for those on the path to recovery, allowing for a safe and comfortable means of transport in emergency situations. Their ease of use means they can be deployed rapidly and do not require permanent installation, making them a flexible option for temporary needs.
Flexible and Non-Intrusive Evacuation chairs do not require modifications to existing infrastructure, making them suitable for a variety of facilities, from hospitals to residential buildings. This flexibility means that organizations can integrate them into their emergency plans without major logistical challenges.
Promoting Independence and Empowerment
Beyond physical safety, evacuation stair chairs play an essential role in promoting a sense of self-reliance among those with mobility challenges. This psychological aspect is crucial in emergency situations where stress and anxiety levels run high.
Empowering Users During Crisis The knowledge that an evacuation chair is available can help individuals maintain a sense of control and independence during an emergency. This empowerment can be vital to their overall response and emotional state during such high-pressure situations.
Peace of Mind Evacuation chairs contribute to a feeling of preparedness for both the users and their families or caregivers. Knowing that an efficient evacuation solution is at hand can greatly reduce anxiety and build trust in the facility’s emergency protocols.
Quick Deployment for Immediate Response
One of the standout features of evacuation stair chairs is their ability to be deployed quickly, which is critical during an emergency when time is of the essence.
Minimal Training Required Operating an evacuation chair does not require extensive training. Most models are designed with simple, intuitive controls that enable quick familiarization. This makes it easier for staff and even non-medical personnel to step in and assist during emergencies, ensuring that no precious time is lost.
Fast and Efficient Evacuation The speed with which these chairs can be deployed means that even individuals with limited mobility can be evacuated swiftly. This is particularly important in larger facilities where the evacuation process may involve multiple individuals and floors.
Additional Benefits Beyond Emergencies
While evacuation stair chairs are primarily designed for use during emergencies, their value extends to everyday scenarios for those with mobility impairments.
Aid for Permanent Mobility Issues Although they are optimized for temporary injuries, evacuation chairs are a valuable addition for individuals with long-term mobility challenges. These chairs complement existing mobility aids, such as stair lifts, creating a comprehensive system that supports users in everyday navigation and emergency preparedness.
Support for Daily Navigation Evacuation chairs offer an essential lifeline for individuals who face difficulties with stairs. Their presence in buildings with multiple floors adds a layer of safety and accessibility, ensuring that all residents or visitors can move about more confidently.
Conclusion: Essential Equipment for Inclusive Safety
Evacuation stair chairs are indispensable tools in emergency management, especially for facilities committed to comprehensive safety measures. With their intuitive design, robust safety features, and the empowerment they bring to users, these chairs represent a critical investment for healthcare providers, office buildings, and public institutions.
The importance of these chairs extends beyond their mechanical functions. They embody a commitment to the well-being and dignity of every individual, regardless of mobility challenges. For any organization or residence that prioritizes inclusive safety, evacuation stair chairs are not just beneficial—they are essential.
Take Action Now Protect your home, workplace, or healthcare facility by investing in high-quality evacuation stair chairs. Mobile Stairlift’s Evacuation Line offers reliable and innovative solutions tailored to meet diverse needs. Don't wait for an emergency to reveal the gaps in your safety plan; equip your space with the tools that prioritize life and security today.

My family, my dear friends and everyone who knows me or not ، we are Issam and Sahar , newly married and living in Gaza, I'm 30 years old and Sahar is 26.
Tumblr media
Everyone who knows us knows that we are a reserved, quiet and reclusive person. We have always been an independent person and used to do everything ourselves for our family. So, I hope you understand that today it's difficult for us to talk about our personal issues and finally ask for help. I will tell you my story briefly, after I realized some of my dreams a short time ago by marrying my life partner and moving into my house, which we only stayed in for a few days until we were in the middle of the war, we fled to save ourselves and stay alive, we lost hope in life after all our dreams that we had dreamed of since childhood were shattered.
One of our dreams was to settle in the house we built stone by stone and be happy like other couples, but we couldn't because of the war.
I used to work as a lawyer in several companies, I am unemployed, I lost my job, I have no source of income, and everything I saved I put in the house, the house was destroyed and I have nothing now.
This is a picture of me as a lawyer with the head of the Bar Association
Tumblr media
My wife and I decided to start a fundraising campaign so that we can get some money to evacuate us after we lost everything, to rebuild our house that was destroyed by the occupation, and to get food, water and other necessities of life so that we can live first and then think about our future, which we don't know anything about.
Now, this is our house, which was destroyed by the occupation after my wife and I equipped it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The place where we live now is devoid of all the necessities of life, and we struggle with access to water, food, safety, and all the necessities needed to live.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I realize that we're all going through tough times, so anything that helps, whether it's your love and support, your donation, sharing my story, or sending love and prayers, it's all accepted and greatly appreciated, and I hope that anyone who is able to help me will help me and spread the link, because literally every dollar makes a difference.

Support the Jad Al Haq family
I've been asked by the family to make this post to help clear up the rumors of fraud surrounding them. All of these campaigns have been vetted by trustworthy sources and I have linked proof of verification for each of them. You may see similar photos and wording in their campaigns, but that is because they are all sisters.
Please share and donate where you can to help the Jad Al Haq family be able to reunite with Doaa in Egypt.

This fundraiser is for 3 of Doaa's sisters: Tahreer, Fidaa, and Aseel. All of them were recently forced to evacuate where they were sheltering and find themselves displaced again. The funds will be used to help them afford necessities and evacuation so they can join Doaa in Egypt.
@tahreer1990 and her husband Ahmed have 4 children: Fatima, Khamees, Sarah, and Ameer. Ameer is a toddler with a broken pelvis and in desperate need of medical care. Khamees also recently underwent a tonsillectomy without proper conditions/medications due to a severe infection.
@fedao and her husband Hashem have 4 children: Dima, Abdullah, Islam, and Duaa. Hashem has an arm injury and needs medical care.
@aseelo680 is a young ambitious English student who is taking care of their elderly parents. Both their mother and father need treatment to help with their medical conditions, but Aseel cannot afford the care they need. Her father also recently suffered a stroke after losing his home, job, and relatives.
Aseel also has a second fundraiser to help with her parents' treatment and evacuation.

@falestine-yousef and her husband have a 3 month old son named Youssef that Falestine gave birth to during this genocide. She is struggling to provide enough milk, diapers, medicine, and vitamins for her son. She also fears for Youssef's health because of the unsanitary conditions in their camp. The tent they live in is next to a dilapidated public toilet where sewage, dirt and waste is everywhere, putting her family at greater risk of contracting deadly diseases.

Nothing can truly show you the reality of what's happening in Gaza, not a picture, not a video, and not even words. The truth is far worse than anything an image can capture. Families are not just enduring genocide, they’re being erased. Their history, their homes, their existence, wiped away like they were never there.
What’s left behind? Bits and pieces. Fragments. A scrap of fabric here, a shattered memory there. People are still trapped beneath the rubble. Some are alive, their voices weak but desperate, pleading for help that will never come. There’s no rescue equipment. No teams to save them. And anyone brave enough to try is met with drones, striking down anyone who gets close.
Those who’ve managed to survive aren’t just hungry, they’re freezing. Imagine huddling in a makeshift tent, shaking not just from fear but from the biting cold that seeps into your bones. The wind tears through everything, ripping apart whatever tiny bit of warmth you’ve managed to cling to. Inside the tent, there’s no comfort. Only the sound of bodies rustling as they try to stay warm, muffled cries of grief, and the haunting sound of people buried beneath the rubble, their faint cries for help echoing in the dark.
The cold doesn’t care. It doesn’t spare anyone—not children, not parents, not the elderly. It sinks into everyone, leaving them numb, both physically and emotionally. Hunger takes what little strength they have left, and the cold takes their hope. This isn’t some tragic story from the past—it’s happening right now. These are my people. This is my family.
A single line can hold the weight of an entire story, and a single choice can save a life. What if you skipped that extra coffee, brush pack, or subscription and put that money toward rescuing lives in Gaza ? One small sacrifice from you could provide food, warmth, or even survival to my family who’ve lost everything.
You might wonder, “Does it really matter? Can I make a difference?” The answer is yes. Every dollar you give is a line of hope, a stand against the darkness. Don’t let this story fade. Don’t let Gaza disappear into silence.
Please help us and donate now if you can, and reblog this post to spread our story.

My friend Suad is despondent. She and her family have been displaced since the IOF bombed their home in Gaza City nearly a year ago. They have eked out an existence in shelter centers, friends’ and strangers’ homes, tents, and even open streets. Her firstborn Khaled was born under IOF bombing, and has struggled with malnutrition for his entire life up to this point. They have been displaced over a dozen times, often barely escaping before their prior location was bombed. You can read more about this situation in our “#Suad Ahmad” tag, as Tumblr has inexplicably deleted Suad’s blog for the 4th time.
The bombing is almost constant, and the debris dust from the bombs is so omnipresent that little Khaled struggles to breathe. Contaminants in the air, water, and scarce supply of food cause him to break out in frequent rashes, which occasionally ally afflict Suad as well. Khaled also has a frequent fever caused by a chest infection for which there are little or no available antibiotics.
Khaled requires medications, doctor visits, and the use of specialized breathing equipment for medical treatment which can only be used when a kind stranger allows the family to power the machine with their solar panels. As an infant, he also requires diapers. Astonishingly, the price of diapers in Gaza has risen to over $50 USD for a small pack. Anyone who has ever spent time with a baby knows that babies require mountains of diapers. $50 barely buys a day’s worth in Gaza.
Additionally, this is going to be Khaled’s first winter, which means he has no winter clothes of any kind. There are some winter clothes for infants for sale in Gaza, but they are extremely expensive. Khaled is sick and also suffers from malnutrition, making him more vulnerable to the elements. Winters in Gaza are wet, windy, and cold, and this past winter saw the deaths of many infants and young children due to hypothermia.
Tumblr media
Suad has been running a campaign to support her family’s evacuation for several months, but progress has been sporadic. The evacuation costs are exorbitantly high, and the cost of hopefully beginning their lives anew in Egypt will be extremely high also. In the mean time, Suad requires mutual aid for food, water, medications, winter clothes, doctor visits, diapers, and transportation.
This little boy deserves everything. He deserves to only know joy, to learn and grow in safety and health. He was born into a world which is largely neglectful of his suffering. Please be the exception. Please help this little boy and his family survive in a world that has turned its back on them.
Thank you❤️

Donating to international organizations is currently not ideal, as aid is still being stopped at the border. Please focus on Palestinian-run initiatives on the ground in Gaza instead.
Remember, small donations always add up. Any amount counts, even $1!
If you are unable to donate yourself, you can even adopt a fundraiser campaign to regularly boost and make materials promoting it online, or print posters and flyers about Palestinian fundraisers to encourage others to donate.
