Applying a conservative estimate of four indirect deaths per one direct death9 to the 37 396 deaths reported, it is not implausible to estimate that up to 186 000 or even more deaths could be attributable to the current conflict in Gaza. Using the 2022 Gaza Strip population estimate of 2 375 259, this would translate to 7·9% of the total population in the Gaza Strip
(Source: The Lancet)
The Lancet is one of the oldest and highest impact peer-reviewed medical journals in the world. Deliberate undercounting of deaths is a key feature of genocides.
The Electronic Intifada estimated it at 193,000 a few days before.
The reported number of martyrs on Wednesday this week was 37,718. It’s important to note that this number only includes martyrs who have been identified by name and civil ID number through the beleaguered health ministry in Gaza. Given the breakdown of reporting systems due to heavy destruction of infrastructure and personnel, this number, even with its limited parameters, is a gross underestimation. Based on more accurate figures of approximately 370 people killed daily, multiplied by 264 days of genocide, the actual number is closer to 97,680 martyred. (Per OCHA estimate of 15 martyrs per hour: Over the course of 264 days, which amounts to 6,336 hours, this number would roughly be 95,040).
...
Based on these estimates, both conservative and data-driven, respectively, the actual figures are likely as follows: • 377,280 buildings destroyed completely or partially • 95,040—97,680 martyred • 221,760 injured • 24,750 dead or dying from starvation • 42,000 missing (presumed dead, kidnapped by Israel’s occupying forces or possibly trafficked). The following ranges represent conservative estimate or lower range of data-driven population estimates: • 17,050—94,049 with chronic illnesses dead from lack of medication • 14,408—255,985 dead from epidemics resulting from Israel’s assault This means the actual number of dead is closer to 194,768—511,824 people, with 221,760 injured. And counting.
(Source: The Electronic Intifada)
Israel surrounded the last remaining hospital in the Gaza Strip with tanks and ordered it evacuated and shut down 12 hours ago.
If you still want to believe the pussy-footing toll of counted and reported deaths that can stand up to Western propaganda, after nine fucking months of dropping more than 70,000 tons of bombs on a 41 kilometer strip, exceeding World War II bombings in Dresden, Hamburg, London combined, rather than the statistical breakdown of humanitarian orgs and medical journals, then have at. There's no point telling you to believe the victims and question your own biases towards your own heavily propagandized establishments.
But if you can do basic math, then please use The Lancet's estimated death toll. The massacre of 8% of the Gaza Strip is a conservative estimate and still apocalyptic. Resist all attempts to diminish it. Remember that this is the result of the United States's obstruction of justice and open-handed abetting of genocidaires. Keep fighting.
Btw:
While the war itself is estimated to have generated between 420,265 and 652,552 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) so far—equivalent to burning more than 1.5 million barrels of oil—this figure soars to more than 61 million tonnes when pre-and post-war construction and reconstruction are included. This is more than the annual emissions of 135 individual nations—but there is currently no legal obligation for militaries to report or be held accountable for their emissions.

The IOF continues deploying new, experimental, and illegal weaponry against the people of north Gaza.
Journalist Mahmoud Abusalama documents severe damage in the Abu Sharar Junction area of Jabaliya Camp. The occupation deployed an unmanned robot-like device to enter the neighborhood, then they remotely triggered an explosion. This is a new form of “suicide drone”.
Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor is highly concerned about these weapons (video)

Euro-Med Monitor reports of countless civilians killed in the streets and in homes by Israeli army snipers, or targeted by Israeli artillery shells, with their bodies being left on the ground for days or weeks on end. There is also ample evidence and video of boys and men being rounded up, stripped down to their underwear and abused. Every man is guilty until proven innocent and have no way to prove their innocence through the human rights abuses and abuse- including children.
Field executions are part of the horrifying crimes committed by Israeli forces in various incursion zones in the Gaza Strip, along with looting, intimidation, arbitrary detention, torture, threats of rape, and widespread destruction, Euro-Med Monitor reports.
The United States is complicit in these crimes against humanity and war crimes. The White House continues to bypass Congress to arm Israel as it breaks and violates international law.
This Art Activism is part of a daily grassroots movement in Washington DC, organized by activist and humanitarian @hazami. The goal is to bring awareness and action to end the atrocities in Gaza and to inspire Americans to realize their role and power in creating change to Free Palestine. While we will never fully understand what those in Gaza are experiencing, we do all that we can to ensure the impacts are felt in Washington DC.

[ 📹 Footage from on the night of February 29th, when the Israeli occupation forces opened fire on thousands of starving Palestinians gathered for humanitarian aid on Al-Rashid street in Gaza City. 118 Palestinian civilians were killed in the massacre and more than 700 others were wounded in the attack.]
🇮🇱⚔️🇵🇸 🚨
INVESTIGATION OF ISRAEL'S "FLOUR MASSACRE" CONFIRMS ZIONIST FORCES RESPONSIBLE FOR SHOOTING HUNDREDS OF STARVING PALESTINIANS
An investigation by Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor (EURO-MED) into the "Flour massacre", which saw 118 starving Palestinian civilians killed and nearly 800 wounded in what the Israeli occupation tried to blame on a "stampede," says it has produced evidence that the majority of casualties were actually caused by the firing of live Israeli bullets.
The Flour massacre occured on February 29th, 2024 near the Nabulsi roundabout on Al-Rashid street in Gaza City, where thousands of hungry Palestinian families gathered for the arrival of a humanitarian aid convoy carrying food to starving crowds that desperately needed sustenance.
Soon after the trucks arrived, gunfire erupted, including tracer rounds which could be seen in video evidence taken at the time, causing thousands of civilians to panic, running off in different directions in search for shelter.
The Israeli occupation authorities used heavily edited clips of night vision drone video to argue that nearly a thousand Palestinian casualties were a result of a stampede after Israeli forces fired rifles into the air to defend themselves from defenseless civilians desperate for food, whom they claim were looting the free food being distributed to the crowds.
So senseless was Israel's explanations for the atrocity, that even CNN's Christiane Amanpour, a normally deferential TV commentator who rarely resists the official narratives of the Israeli occupation, had to push back against Israeli officials on U.S. national television.
But a newly published report by the Geneva-based human rights organization, Euro-Med Monitor, says that many of casualties were in fact the result of the firing of live bullets that have been forensically analyzed and found to match those used by Israeli soldiers.
According to Euro-Med Monitor, "Many victims of the massacre" actually suffered injuries from "5.56x45mm NATO bullets," adding that, "this is a type of bullet fired from Israeli army weapons."
"A sample of 200 dead and injured victims revealed that they were indeed hit by this type of bullet, and that the bullets were discovered and examined at the massacre site along with shrapnel found in the bodies of the wounded and dead," Euro-Med said in its report.
After carrying out a forensic analysis of the type of bullets used, Euro-Med says it "discovered that [this type of bullet] is discharged from assault rifles like the M4 and Tavor, along with machine guns," specifically "light machine gun[s] or LMG" such as the "IWI Negev."
Euro-Med says its research "revealed that 5.56×45mm ammunition is a basic FMJ bullet used by the Israeli army."
"This type of bullet is imported from the United Kingdom on occasion, produced in 2020/2022, and licensed for use by the Israeli Ministry of Defense," the human rights organization said of its analysis.
Euro-Med added that the bullet "is also manufactured in Israel by IMI SYSTEMS," an Israeli company which manufactures weapons, ammunition and other military technologies, and "regularly supplies them to the Israeli security forces, including the Israeli army."
Citing testimony by Muhammad Yasser Washah, a local 17-year-old resident of Gaza City's Al-Sabra neighborhood who was present for the Flour massacre, along with its own analysis, Euro-Med said it retrieved a bullet lodged in the youths jacket after going through the bag of flour he had been carrying on the night of the atrocity.
After analyzing the bullet pulled from Washah's jacket, Euro-Med discovered that its "form and dimensions were identical" to the bullets mentioned previously, though this particular bullet is designed to penetrate several millimeters of solid steel.
Euro-Med recorded testimony from several witnesses to the horrific massacre, putting together a timeline for the events of that night.
According to witnesses, the Zionist army began "directly shooting at civilians" as they waited for food aid at "approximately 4:10am" on Thursday, February 29th.
By 5:30am, the Israeli occupation forces "raided the entire gathering, where many people were lying injured, killed or were attempting to flee."
Euro-Med says that many people were taken into custody by the occupation's soldiers, others were forced to flee south, while some "Israeli forces directly executed others and left their bodies on a nearby beach."
According to testimony given by a witness who asked for anonymity, Euro-Med quoted the witness as saying, "We were shocked when Israeli soldiers showed up and took a group of young men from Gaza [City]."
The witness added that “While the majority of them were fleeing to the beach, some were at the Nabulsi roundabout, others were evacuated to the south, and still others were killed and left on the beach.”
The witness also detailed the fate of a doctor named Muhammad Awad who had been detained by Israeli soldiers but was released soon thereafter, “he moved several steps away, they opened fire on him and wounded him in the shoulder…We were under siege until 6:30 am, and the injured were pleading with us not to leave them…The food and flour were covered in blood when I left."
A second witness who works as volunteer paramedic also asked for anonymity fearing retaliation. That witness told Euro-Med “In the hopes of receiving assistance, I went to the Nabulsi roundabout. As a precaution, I brought a first aid bag with me because I knew that similar incidents had resulted in shootings.”
The witness explained how shortly before 4:30am, the humanitarian aid trucks "passed the checkpoint and the Israeli army started firing, throwing stun grenades and smoke bombs" as an Israeli tank advanced towards the crowd.
“I treated several injured people with first aid. I discovered that some had suffered injuries to their chests, while others had suffered injuries to their limbs," the witness recounted, adding that, "while I was trying to pull out one of the injured people, the tank came forward, and I was forced to flee the scene." The witness concluded by saying, “there was a large number of dead and injured people.”
Euro-Med Monitor goes on to lay out four "key pieces of evidence confirming the Israeli army's involvement in the killing and wounding of starving civilians," including signs of injuries on the bodies of the dead and wounded, footage released by the Israeli occupation authorities themselves, as well as "audible evidence of gunfire emenating from Israeli tanks positioned near the coast."
The Human Rights organization also pointed to video evidence published by the Zionist occupation, which despite being heavily edited, shows the "sheer panic and intimidation that struck all of the civilians present - including those relatively far away from the aid trucks - and pushed them to flee in all directions in order to seek shelter."
Euro-Med also warned that Israeli shootings of starving Palestinian civilians attempting to receive humanitarian aid has "become a regular practice."
The organization stated that over the last few weeks, "Israeli forces have directly attacked and killed dozens of people in Gaza City, including on Salah al-Din Street and in the vicinity of the Kuwait roundabout, where it has occurred no less than twice since the Flour Massacre."
The most recent example of this kind of attack came just last night when, according to Euro-Med Monitor, "many civilians were injured by Israeli violence near the Kuwait roundabout."
The Euro-Med report goes on to slam the Israeli occupation for "starving the people of Gaza, killing the starving people, and obstructing the entry and distribution of humanitarian supplies, especially in Gaza City and the northern Strip, demonstrat[ing] Israel’s aim of forcibly displacing the Palestinian people there as part of its genocide, ongoing since 7 October 2023."
The investigation goes on emphasize that the Zionist army's "extrajudicial executions and intentional killings of Palestinian civilians" who have not taken part in the hostilities, "amounts to serious violations of International humanitarian law," and are considered "war crimes and crimes against humanity as defined by the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court."
"These crimes, which Israel has been committing against the Gaza Strip’s people since 7 October, violate the right of Palestinians to life in accordance with international human rights law, and constitute acts of genocide," the Human Rights group added.
Euro-Med concludes it's report by urging the international community to take action to "force Israel to halt its starvation campaign" against civilians in the Gaza Strip, "in order to prevent the impending catastrophe of mass famine there, and to hold Israel accountable for its crimes and grave violations against the Strip and all of its Palestinian residents."
The Geneva-based human rights organization also issued a call for a "more effective and decisive" international intervention to "ensure the safe, complete, and reliable delivery of humanitarian supplies to the Gaza Strip without any hindrance," and "thus guarantee the provision of and access to" basic goods and services desperately needed by the starving population in the Palestinian enclave.

This is not an isolated incident. UNRWA and other humanitarian groups have been stopped by Netanyahu. Six World Central Kitchen aid workers and one Palestinian driver were killed by an Israeli airstrike in this ongoing slaughter and politically planned famine of innocent civilians in Gaza. WCK with their trucks labeled, coordinated their deliveries with the Israeli military’s awareness and still they were targeted. These aid workers and that driver had families, one pictured with his wife and baby, had dual Canadian/American citizenship. They were compassionate and cared about the 2 Million displaced refugees who are starving as famine is being used as a means for annihilation. President Biden continues to reward Netanyahu’s administration for its war crimes with billions of dollars in weapons transfers including one transfer this past week worth 2.5 Billion. Biden and AIPAC sponsored Corporate Democrats and Republicans in office take Israeli lobby money which also enriches U.S. military defense contractors. According to Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, over 15,000 children have been brutally bombed, starved, or shot to death. Innocent men and women have been tortured, lost their homes either to endless brutal bombardments, or violent religious fundamentalists Israeli settlers who are sponsored by Netanyahu’s far right authoritarian government. All adult males according to Netanyahu are “terrorist” or labeled “terrorist” after death. These Palestinians are 2 Million displaced refugees without any quality of life, without a future, without a civilized world protecting them. This is unacceptable, but unfortunately I know the Biden administration will never hold Israel accountable for this crime, or any other crime against humanity. Biden can make P.R. statements or have John Kirby cover for Israel even with the bold face lie of “the state department has looked at incidents in the past and has yet to determine any of those incidents violate international humanitarian law.” Actions speak louder than words. President Biden’s actions and Kirby’s lies are outrageous and heinous. #worldcentralkitchen #gaza @euromedhr #gazagenocide #civiliansmatter @washingtonpost

Cool so I get that a bunch of you don’t think Arabs are people or whatever, but if we could not say that a guy who is facilitating a genocide “has actually done a lot of good” and that a woman who has pledged publicly, multiple times, to continue the genocide would be a “legitimately good president” that would be great.
I’m sick to bastard death of people pretending that people don’t want to vote for Harris because they’re inflexible far-left anarchists who aren’t willing to compromise on political positions slightly to the right of theirs. Over 100’000 people have been killed in the last year. More bombs have been dropped on Gaza in the last year than the Blitz, the bombing of Dresden, and Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined. Yesterday CNN published a piece about IDF soldiers running over hundreds of people with bulldozers, and the point of the piece was how traumatising it was for the soldiers, how they can’t eat meat anymore after mangling people into meat. There are death marches happening in Jabalia in the north of Gaza right now. People are being lined up, men and boys separated from the group, and brought to mass graves where they are killed or buried alive. Since more than 70% of civilian infrastructure in Gaza has been destroyed, Israel is just bombing people in tents now where they burn alive. The bombs killing people are American bombs, the money funding it is American money, the political cover that allows it to continue comes from American politicians.
I don’t know what it will take for people in the West to acknowledge the scale of what is happening. I don’t know if I have to share a steady stream of images of people’s mangled bodies, not able to rest even in death, I don’t know if I have to tell the stories of the Palestinians I know, of the children I know who escaped Gaza this year and are rehabilitating limb amputations, if I have to do thought experiments with you saying “pretend Beirut is New York and they are bombing outside JFK and Columbia Presbyterian”. If I have to explain that the number of children killed is not incidental but intentional. It is beyond exhausting to watch people be so flippant about the hell on earth that they are funding and electing. Vote for whoever the fuck you want, I get the stakes, but acknowledge the reality of what is going on, acknowledge the reality of your choices, acknowledge that you live in a country that is making you choose between complicity in genocide and complicity in genocide
I mean honestly I don’t hate Harris. or Biden, who has actually done a lot of good in the last four years especially considering the mess he had to clean up. but whatever gets the “my imaginary moral high ground is more important than peoples’ lives” fucks to vote.
#this breaks my no social media discourse rule but this was the first thing i saw when i woke up this morning#i know it’s shouting into a void and if people don’t care then nothing i say will get them to but#the death estimates are conservative from the lancet; 70’000 tonnes of bombs as of april comes from euro-med human rights monitor; harris#policy positions from cnn and cbs interviews and ny times piece from last week; jabalia information from gazan journalists and reuters;#civilian infrastructure damage from un ocha and world bank#i’m not interested in debating any of this; but if you’re looking for sources you’re welcome to ask#the most generous benefit of the doubt i can give you is that maybe the scale of horror is such that you turn off your brain and shut off#your heart to it; but you can’t. that’s genocide denial; and that’s denying the humanity of millions of people. i’m not asking you to hold#all of it; but acknowledge it#even i am struggling to acknowledge and communicate the horror of it. i instinctively want to stay away from words like mutilation; i don't#want to relay the stories of people being amputated without anaesthesia; the reports from western doctors about the number of children shot#in the head by snipers#i don't want to have to justify people's humanity to you; try to help you relate to them; tell you about a doctor named bisan who loved#anne with an e who died 3 weeks into the genocide; about bts fan cards found in apartment rubble; about alshaima akram saidam who graduated#in 2023 with the highest high school standard exam scores in the country; about the dedication that takes; the love it takes to help#someone achieve that; the sacrifice from her and those around her. all to help her become something; to honour her potential; with hopes of#some bright future for her. how she and her family were killed at nuseirat refugee camp two weeks into the genocide#about mohammed abu al-qumsan who went to register the births of his newborn twins; and returned to find them; his wife; and mother-in-law#killed by an israeli airstrike#about ambulances and aid workers killed in targeted strikes; journalists in press vests killed by snipers; flour massacres; water massacres#anyway; i'm not asking you to steep in the horror of it; i'm just asking you to acknowledge it; and to acknowledge those responsible#you should hate the people doing this; christ that should be the least of what you feel

The first Palestinian athlete to participate in the Olympic games died on Wednesday at the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza as a result of kidney failure due to power outages and medical shortages as a result of the ongoing Israeli war and siege of the enclave.
Majed Abu Maraheel, who passed away at the age of 61, became the first athlete to be the flag bearer and represent Palestinians at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996. Being a distance runner, he competed in the 10km race.
Since his breakthrough on the world stage, more than 20 Palestinian men and women have been able to compete at Olympic competitions.
"He was a Palestinian icon, and he will remain as such," his brother told Paltoday TV after the funeral.
"We tried to evacuate him to Egypt but then the Rafah crossing was closed (by Israel), and his condition kept deteriorating."
In his preparation for the Olympics, Abu Maraheel would often be seen on his daily runs from his home in Gaza to the Erez Crossing with Israel, which Israel closed in October after imposing a full blockade on the Strip.
Last month, it was reopened for the first time since then.
He would often have to pass through that crossing for his job as a day labourer in Israel. After participating in the Olympics, Abu Maraheel went on to become a coach for other Palestinian runners hoping to replicate his presence at the international competition.
Abu Maraheel's death highlights the grim fate of many Palestinians who are facing kidney failure in Gaza.
A report from the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor in March found that there were between 1,000 to 1,500 patients in Gaza with kidney failure, and that they are facing a "slow death" because of "a lack of medical and therapeutic services, medications and other necessities".
Israel denies blocking humanitarian aid into Gaza, though aid agencies say they are not able to get aid in because of Israeli restrictions.

The Chairman of Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor shared a map of the original border of the Gaza Strip under the ceasefire agreement of February 24, 1949, noting that Terrorist, Fascist, Genocidal, Apartheid War Criminal 🐖 Israel "Did Not Abide" by the agreed area of 555 square kilometers.
"Today, Terrorist, Fascist, Genocidal, Apartheid War Criminal 🐖 Israel is engaging in ethnic cleansing and further encroaching on the land from the 365 square kilometers," wrote Ramy Abdul on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Terrorist, Fascist, Genocidal, Apartheid War Criminal 🐖 Israel has faced mounting international pressure to end its war but has been largely been shielded by US diplomatic and military support. So far, nearly 33,000 Palestinians, more than two-thirds of them women and children, have been killed.

Moreover, Israel has made it lawful to hold dead Palestinians’ bodies and steal their organs. A 2019 Israeli Supreme Court ruling permits the military to bury the bodies temporarily in the “Numbers Cemetery”. By the end of 2021, the Israeli Knesset had passed laws allowing the army and police to hold on to the bodies of dead Palestinians.
There have been reports in recent years of the unlawful use of Palestinian corpses held by Israel, including the theft of organs and their use in Israeli university medical schools. Israeli doctor Meira Weiss disclosed in her book Over Their Dead Bodies that organs taken from dead Palestinians were utilised in medical research at Israeli universities’ medical faculties and were transplanted into Jewish-Israeli patients. Even more concerning are admissions made by Yehuda Hess, the former director of Israel’s Abu Kabir Institute of Forensic Medicine, about the theft of human tissues, organs and skin from dead Palestinians over a period of time without their relatives’ knowledge or consent.
Israel had become “ground zero for both legal and illegal” human organ transactions, according to a 2009 report by the US CNN network, which also alleged that Israel participated in the theft of organs from dead Palestinians for illegal use. This was denied by an Israeli minister at the time, who described the allegation as an “anti-Semitic blood libel against the Jewish people and the Jewish state.” Nevertheless, Euro-Med Monitor confirmed that Israel is the only country that systematically holds on to the dead bodies of those it kills, under the pretext of “security deterrence” and in total violation of international charters and agreements.
Like any other country, Israel must abide by international law, which stipulates the need to respect and protect the bodies of the dead during armed conflicts. The Fourth Geneva Convention stresses that: “Each party to the conflict must take all possible measures to prevent the dead from being despoiled. Mutilation of dead bodies is prohibited.”
Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor also confirmed that refusing to hand over the bodies of the dead so their grieving families can bury them with dignity and in accordance with their religious beliefs may amount to collective punishment. This is strictly prohibited in Article 50 of the Hague Regulations and Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention.

Journalists Anas Al-Sharif and Ismail Al-Ghoul both report falling ill recently, which has made their documentation of the genocide in Gaza that much harder. However, they both plan to continue their coverage as they are able.
The lack of shelter, persistent cold rain, collapse of sanitation infrastructure, and proliferation of decomposing bodies has made the Gaza Strip a hotbed of disease. This is especially true in the north, where there are no functioning medical facilities and no humanitarian aid has reached in months. Even IOF soldiers are falling ill to the catastrophe they created, many having to be evacuated into “Israel” (occupied Palestine) for treatment for severe diarrhea and antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections, spreading the contagions. Some of them have even died.
This was likely a key part of Israel’s strategy for genocide in Gaza: the creation of an environment in which serious disease is impossible to avoid will not only weaken and even kill more people than can be reached by explosives and ground troops, but it also lends them a degree of plausible deniability, the ability to say “you can’t blame us for killing all those people, they got sick! Hamas should’ve taken better care of them!” This has been documented by the Euro-Med Monitor. You can read their report here.

"The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said that the massacre at al-Shifa was one of the largest in Palestinian history, estimating that at least 1,500 people had been killed, injured, or reported missing, “with women and children making up half of the casualties.”* The organization also confirms that at least 22 patients were shot while in their hospital beds, while the number of displaced persons sheltering at the hospital who were forced to evacuate southward was estimated to include 25,000 people. Moreover, 1,200 housing units in the vicinity of al-Shifa were destroyed.
Despite the army’s claims about the al-Shifa operation’s strategic and military importance and the number of alleged Hamas and PIJ members it had arrested and killed, it obfuscated the real intended purpose of the operation, which was to destroy the health system in northern Gaza and worsen the already disastrous humanitarian conditions. The entire compound is now unfit for use. Even the morgue, containing countless bodies of the slain, was burned down."

The death toll of Israel’s gory genocide of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip has climbed to approximately 30,000 victims, according to the latest reports released by Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor. As of Tuesday 26 December, 29,124 Palestinians had been killed, the human rights organisation said. The majority of those killed in the Israeli air and artillery attacks on the Gaza Strip were civilians, including 11,422 children, 5,822 women, 481 health personnel, and 101 journalists. Meanwhile, 56,122 Palestinians have been injured, with hundreds of them being critically wounded, said Euro-Med Monitor. This number includes thousands of victims who are still stuck under the rubble of buildings, while hundreds more remain uncounted, but are likely either trapped under rubble or injured in the streets. Euro-Med Monitor estimates also indicate that there are more than 1.920 million displaced people in the Gaza Strip who remain without a safe shelter amid inhumane conditions. According to the rights group, 65,600 housing units have been completely destroyed by the ongoing Israeli attacks, while 177,200 others have been partially damaged. Israel has also continued to cause massive destruction and severe damage to vital infrastructure facilities in the Gaza Strip, targeting 305 schools, 1,541 industrial facilities, and 135 health facilities, including 23 hospitals, 56 clinics, 55 ambulances, 183 mosques, and 3 churches, in addition to 165 press offices.
Israel’s military campaign in Gaza seen as among the most destructive in history, experts say
JERUSALEM (AP) — The Israeli military campaign in Gaza, experts say, now sits among the deadliest and most destructive in history. In just over two months, the offensive has wreaked more destruction than the razing of Syria’s Aleppo between 2012 and 2016, Ukraine’s Mariupol or, proportionally, the Allied bombing of Germany in World War II. It has killed more civilians than the U.S.-led coalition did in its three-year campaign against the Islamic State group. The Israeli military has said little about what kinds of bombs and artillery it is using in Gaza. But from blast fragments found on-site and analyses of strike footage, experts are confident that the vast majority of bombs dropped on the besieged enclave are U.S.-made. They say the weapons include 2,000-pound (900-kilogram) “bunker-busters” that have killed hundreds in densely populated areas.
