I'm only reblogging this because the notes made me upset. Don't ask me what kind of upset I am, it's a complicated feeling.
I, in the most literal sense, could not draw as a child. I could barely write, and my hand shook from the struggle of trying to use a fork or a toothbrush until I was in highschool. drawing simple shape took so long and hurt so much that I developed a deep hatred for drawing at a young age. As I got older (and because of ableism in public schools) I was forced to write for assignments despite pain and the time it took and much of it being genuinely illegible till 9th grade. Because I had to exercise those muscles they got stronger and my handwriting got better and one day I was bored and fidgety it class and thought: you know what? what the heck. and I doodled for the first time in my life. It took all of my focus, and 2-3 class periods but when it was done I showed it to the kid next to me and he knew what it was supposed to be. I started crying because I was 15 and had finally finished my first ever drawing. I was so happy it was all I could talk about for weeks. It wasn't good by any definition, but just being able to make recognizable marks on a piece of paper inspired me to continue.
90% of what anyone makes is hot garbage, tossed sketches that don't end up online because the artist isn't proud and wants to put their best foot forward. Make garbage, choose which garbage you like best and make more of that. Rinse and repeat for eternity. And be proud of your garbage. The act of creation is something to take pride in no matter the quality. You did that, you made a whole thing. I'm proud of you, you should be proud of you too.
And if you don't like drawing then don't???? I don't like birdwatching so I don't???? If creation doesn't bring you joy (or catharsis) then Why waste your time??
Look at what y'all did. Got me up on my soapbox. how dare you.
"I cant draw" then do it bad who gives a fuck.....

The leftism/anticapitalism leaving people's bodies the zeptosecond you imply that disabled people who aren't "productive" still matter in society and need to be treated like intrinsic equals who have a place in this world:

Something I miss from earlier eras of the creative side of the internet was things just being unabashedly low-budget. Just all unashamedly amateur, unprofessional, ‘I don’t own a good camera but I have a story to tell you’, ‘I can’t afford a good mic but I have a song to sing for you,’ ‘I don’t have any kind of background in editing or lighting and I only just picked up this guitar last Tuesday but here’s an entire musical me and my friends wrote about our favourite book, we filmed it on a potato and put it up on YouTube in ten minute segments because we thought it was pretty funny.’

spiderpeople that could defeat spot first try:
1. spider-ham (cartoon logic dictates that he can just pick up the holes)
2. sun-spider (disabled solidarity. would probably get spot to come to the realization that hes 100% disabled and be empathetic about it)
3. spider-punk (would explain that a majority of spots problems originate from the shitty system hes in and that capitalism is the problem, not miles)

trying not to start an online fight in a comically inappropriate venue, but people also have some genuinely concerning misconceptions about this, so: if someone tells you that they can't go vegan because of dietary restrictions, you do not know more than they do about those restrictions in question. and they are under no obligation to share personal medical details in order to prove that you are wrong.
moreover, a world in which anyone has to "prove" their need for dietary accommodations to any authority — to say nothing of being denied them a priori because of a refusal to engage with even small scale, ethical animal husbandry — is enacting ableist violence on our bodies. personally, I want nothing more than for for-profit animal agriculture to burn with the rest of capitalism — but you have to understand that telling people like me to "just stop being selfish and stop eating animals" can only be translated as either "only eat things that make you violently ill," or "stop eating even the minimum amount of protein that a human can survive off of."
if you have an impulse to accuse me of overreacting, consider that the refusal of actual medical institutions to take legume and grain allergies seriously has caused me bodily harm throughout my life and to this day — with consequences for my overall lifespan that have yet to be revealed. I am not overreacting.

I love men idc. The world built me not to; I’m not a man, I am a lesbian, I’ve been through hell at the hands of some of the worst men out there, and I am still put in a lot of scary situations around them. But men as a whole deserve to be loved and celebrated for who they are, and we need to recognize the kinds of pressures that are on men to constantly perform, to constantly do, to constantly prove themselves, and the kind of fucked up shit that can do to a person. I feel like trans people in general have a special perspective on this matter and I hope we can use it to extend our love to all kinds of men, cis, trans, and anything else.
It doesn’t help that when people hear “man,” too many instantly think “cishet, white, abled man,” which is exactly what the patriarchy & white supremacy want you to think (though these men also deserve love and compassion and care). Don’t put your suffering under systems of power on individual men. And remember, you never have to prove yourself as a man to be one.

hello, could i do a request? it's a bit self indulgent so i'll put some things and if you don't use all of them that's okay! i'd love a caregiver leon for a disabled regressor if possible. pink (or another pastels) puppy elements, a wheelchair, stim toys or care bear plushies - whichever of those interest you!
no worries if you don't feel like doing it, i know it's a bit of a weird one! thank youuuuu

i'll die on this hill: it is NOT ableist for glass children to be resentful of their disabled sibling. you're not a bad person, you're not a bigot.

I'm sorry, it's been days and people have been exploding over the ship and no one seems to mention how abelist Jayce's 'your imperfections are perfect, Viktor' when the imperfections he's talking about are... Disabling and LITERALLY LIFE THREATENING. "you didn't need to find a cure" MOTHERFUCKER HE HAD CANCER, YOU GONNA SAY THAT TO A CANCER PATIENT????

Going to be really honest, if you're disabled, you truly don't owe people - or the world - access to your diagnoses, symptoms, accessibility needs (and why you need them), mental health history, trauma, or anything like that.
The urge to force people to lay themselves out so they can be picked apart, consumed, and feasted upon by people who demand that their comfort outweigh that of a disabled person's is an ableist pipe dream. It is the urge to control that which you feel you have no control over, and it's your right to refuse to play that game, that role.
