No but seriously: you stated that Cadence didn’t have control over her epithet during the incident where her and Zora first met. On what level would you say she can control (if it’s at all changed) in the current day?

Before the incident Cadence did have some sort of Control over her epithet, but due to overwhelming stress and the constant juggling of both college at the time and theatrics she eventually snapped.

After loosing control of her epithet during that incident, Cadence was captured and given a choice, either join bliss ocean and write the script of victory where epithets no longer exist or you can end up six feet under.

Cadence didn’t have much time to think but she knew that her epithet was too dangerous, a thought became more prominent that day, that thought being that “epithets are a danger to society”.

In that moment where she made that decision all she could think about was her cousin Mera and how much pain she is constantly in, and on-top of that, Cadence pictured all the people she must have trapped in her explosive loss of control during the days of the incident.

Cadence did take the job that day, and the bliss ocean (mostly Zora though) helped her gain more control over her epithet, Cadence does refrain from anything other than support though, she gets disgusted at the fact of controlling someone for to long.

Present time I believe that Cadence could create scenes of a maximum of 4 people, but if she wants to go all out she could do about 2 acts tops and then she reaches her limit. Battle wise Cadence focuses mainly on moving her target but not controlling them like puppets as she did the incident.

Family wise Mera and Cadence are cousins, Mara’s mother and Cadence’s father are twins, which is a reason why Thoth Cadence and Mera have very similar statures and features.

Cadence and her father are no longer on speaking terms, in all reality she is scared to speak to him again after the incident. Cadence’s father is still aware that Cadence is alive though, but he feels responsible for the incident, due to him being the one who wanted Cadence to get into theatrics.

Cadence’s Mother passed away when Cadence was young but Cadence doesn’t really remember her all that much, so she has no strong feelings towards her.

Cadence’s childhood was relatively normal, except for the fact of her being the only constant friendship in Mera’s life at the time. Both Mera and her eventually grew apart but they still care deeply for one another. Either than that things went downhill once Cadence graduated high school and went to College.

To be honest I don't really think of it as an AU, since my fandragons tend to be more just a little doll collection to celebrate media i love, but I have fun thinking about some scenarios and traits the characters have as dragons, so why not?

The Southern Icefield is the furthest thing from Taiga Country in terms of politics, with their rigid laws and zero tolerance policy for nonsense, but there aren't many snowy landscapes that lend themselves to a proper adaptation. Historically, the Windswept Plateau is the most lax of the flights, but it's also. fucken wimdy. So I'm placing Sweet Jazz City somewhere in the Snowsquall Tundra, where the weather isn't as harsh but it's still snowy year-round.

I already established Molly as an Obelisk, but here are the other two. I still don't have them in my lair, those are the plans I have for them. I initially wanted to make Feenie a Tundra dragon (very friendly, notably not very smart) but despite them being my favourite breed, sadly none of my scries worked for what I had in mind for her. I think Pearlcatcher works well enough though, considering their sense of superiority and the memory Pearls they carry around. I picture the Fleecities keeping their ancestors' Pearls in a private collection somewhere in their mansion.

Trixie is a Fae dragon. Fae dragons are hard to read and perceived as stoic, because they communicate "tone" through their crests. Trixie uses that language barrier to come across as more intimidating than they really are. One thing about her is that she is a Water dragon, meaning she is meant to have access to prophecies of the God of Tides himself -- but the Tidelord vanished before she was born, which means she'd never experienced them until the events of the Unfathomable Odissey, where a group of dragons discovered and unleashed an omen of the Tidelord so STRONG every single dragon in Sornieth heard it (though only Water dragons could actually understand the words). That happened around the time Trixie was also discovering their latent ability to see ghosts. So you can imagine how confusing that must've been to them.

Oh also, fun fact: butter in Sornieth comes from snakes. That is because cows aren't real! So unfortunately Molly can't eat one. We do have goats though, so let me give her one right now:

Arya Selios theory

Everything started with the map "Wasabi" where we see two deities dancing, named Nao, a deity of the sun, and Ayla, the deity of the moon, in the end of the map they both fuse into a single entity called "Arya" (as revealed in a instagram post), at first, I got really bummed out that Arya wasn't Selios, or is she? First of, both of them have EXTREME associations with the sun and the moon, Selios name being a fusion of Selene (the greek goddess of the moon) and Helios (the greek god of the sun), and Arya being a fusion of the moon and the sun deities, and as also revealed in a instagram post: "she is the fusion of Ayla and Nao, the genesis of fire, water, earth and air magic", with that i'm almost 99% sure that they both could be the same deity. But why they have diferent names? Well, it could be just a case were a god (a goddess in this case) started with one name but as the time passed the god gets another name, but this could also be a epithet case, for those who don't know, in ancient greece, the gods could have "double names" as way to describe a god in a certain capacity that they are worshiped, we have for example "Phoebus Apollo", meaning "Apollo Lightbringer" describing Apolo in his capacity as a light god, so in this case we would have "Arya Selios" or "Selios Arya", the "Selios" describing Arya as her capability as the mother of life

Mori Terabye (they/he) is an Epithet user whose Epithet is "Consumption." They've been somewhat sickly since they were a child, but it's gotten worse for them over time. They had their Epiphany after learning that they could create mysterious voids that "consume" objects - the realization that they'd been coughing up blood all their life help them mentally connect consuming things and "The Consumption", also known as Tuberculosis.

He doesn't have TB, technically; it's a weird Epithet magic situation. His Epithet happens to affect the inside of his body in a way that presents itself like the notorious infection. When making his little voids, he also has the ability to "eat" them before they disappear entirely. It helps him feel significantly better, but he doesn't exactly know how that works. Epithet magic is weird, man.

They enjoy fencing and do it on the professional level. Their lithe body makes it easy to dodge the swipes and slashes typical of swordfights, even if they do need a minute to catch their breath after a match.

so that's it!! my little guy!!!! i started making a character sheet for them but i don't have anyone that i know could gm a session of anime campaign so i have to refrain from finishing it. i don't know how to properly balance a ttrpg moveset :(

i gotta get more people into epithet tbh. ive been assigning them to some of my friends and im super attached to this idea of a campaign with my besties but its kinda unachievable without a gm </3

came out of like How is maegor keeping his throne while being a polygamist. how is maegor going to keep his throne and appease the faith.

its like his version of the doctrine of exceptionalism basically, his way of reconciling valyrian culture with westerosi values while also going "we ARE uniquely special and we have divine right we are god kings" etc. so you have the faithful wife, the one married under the rules of the faith. and then you have the one that shows how much of a god you are. how you CAN skirt the rules because youre exceptional. entirely so i could have sister wives i love doing sister wives. plus big problem in canon is how little the targs did marriage pacts until daeron. with this i get to do more inter-house marriages >:)

canonically (can it be canonical idk 😭) rhaena is maegor's hand of the king and she's behind a lot of the actual politics. maegor is too busy being evil and rhaena has to pick up the slack. it was also a way to appease ceryse hightower after the boywife debacle cos how do you go to your wife of like fifteen years and go "cool so remember how i married those two other women well here's my nephew i married" after tyanna is killed rhaena officially annuls the alys and tyanna marriages and retroactively declares ceryse the faithful wife and viserys the blood wife

the customs are that you have two weddings. the first is the valyrian one, the wife-in-the-blood which is done in private and attended only by the family. then you have the big public wedding with the wife-in-the-faith where the faithful wife and the blood wife also do some kind of binding ritual (whoa lebians.. but its more like "we pledge to love our husband" but there's def some "we are of one soul" shit and something about The Mother)

Kicks down the door. Epithet erased monster au lore

Monsters and humans live in different worlds. But there are weak spots, and they can overlap. If you’re in the wrong place at the wrong time, you could slip to the other side. This is how Molly got there.

Monsters are usually stuck in their world, keyword being usually. The weaker spirits have more freedom, and while they’re ultimately tethered to the spirit world, they can pass through to the other world and back easily. Stronger spirits are trapped.

The monsters are people who died unsatisfied. This unsatisfaction stays into the afterlife, and they lose their memories and a part of their soul to it. They want to make themselves whole, to find that missing part of themself.

Monsters try to fill that missing part by feeding off human souls. They can’t remember who they used to be or that they even used to be living people, so they don’t actively know or want to go back to it. It’s more instinctive than a conscious desire. Like “hunger”, kinda.
