(Sorry for any spelling, grammar, or drawing mistakes)
I don't know a lot about The Songstress. I haven't really seen any full episodes of Anime Campaign and even if I did, it's possible Epithet Erased will completely rewrite her story. The only information we got is that Phoenica's family has to battle her every 100 years or so.
So what if it turns out she isn't what the world thinks she is? What if she isn't what Phoenica thinks she is? What if when Phoenica goes to battle The Songstress, The Songstress doesn't react to her the way she expects her to? What if instead she is met with the reaction I drew? What if Phoenica's ancestors have been lying to everyone, including their descendants?
What if The Songstress isn't evil?
This is just some wild speculation I have.
Also, one of the songs I was listening to while drawing was The Ballad Of Jane Doe from Ride The Cyclone, so I also drew this.

If anyone wanted or didn't know what the songstress looks like
This is her, don't believe me?
The little music notes on the side of the painting should give that away but if this
Is feenie's mom or grandma or ancestor then it should most likely be the songstress in the other painting because why wouldn't it?

Who is the absolute strongest person in epithet erased?
Well there’s two schools of thought with this really, the first is that the songstress as this ancient unkillable evil that nearly brought down an entire nation until they were stopped by some of the most powerful magicians of all time.
Or the second theory(the one I subscribe to) The Bliss Ocean Leader is the strongest in the verse at the moment. This makes sense just by basic villain logic but also the current strongest person we have that we’ve seen in series, Zora was absolutely fodderized by the Leader in their fight, which suggests leagues of power that we can’t even imagine at the moment.

One bit of Epithet Erased lore that I find super funny is that the legendary witch that Phoenica is supposed to fight, the Songstress, is reincarnated via an earthly vessel that can converse with demons and summon spirits. You know. Kinda like how Trixie can communicate with ghosts and perform seances. So yeah it's super obvious that Trixie is the Harbinger of the Songstress and Phoenica has just not realized it yet. Which is even funnier because, if Bubblegum Renegade is anything to go off of, it's fully possible that they end up as a couple at some point.

(POP SPOILERS) Massive Epithet Erased theory
So, this is going to be a pretty big and out there theory, but I think this might be revealed to be true in the future.
I think Trixie Roughhouse... is the Harbinger for the Songstress.
On my fourth listen-to of Prison of Plastic, I had come to chapter two when I heard Phoenica talk about some of the traits the Harbinger has. Most notably, she says the Harbinger is about to hear demonic voices and can control the dead.
And what do we see Trixie do on her chapter, where she fights the Scaregrow? She is shown to be able to ward off ghosts with holy water, is capable to perform successful seances, and heard the voice of a crow that NO ONE ELSE can hear but her.
Trixie has the exclusive ability to hear the dead, control them, AND hear demons... all traits of the Songstress.
This can only mean one thing... Phoenica will have to defeat her best friend Trixie, in order to defeat the songstress.
On a smaller note for evidence, Trixie does share similar hair color and style to the picture of the songstress shown in the Sweetjazz museum, just saying.

All I can say about the Songstress is as follows:
Evil magic user who shows up every 3 generations to cause problems. The Fleecity family's job is to beat up & re-seal her every time. They get huge amounts of money for it.
(That's legit all I know, I haven't watched Anime Campaign either.)
AU where Zora gets adopted by the King & Fleecity families. For a bit of backstory, the King, Salazar & Fleecity families all know each other, stemming from when they teamed up to beat the living daylights of the Songstress when a previous generations' Magical Girls failed. The Triple Threat (what I'm calling the families together) make Songstress piñatas for special occasions like their kids birthdays. The Fleecities were funding the Salazars' archeology expeditions, and were the first to notice the silence. When they found out what happened, first they called the Kings, made sure Zora was safe with the other kids, then the adults unleashed hell on every Banzai Blaster they could get their hands on in search of the killers.
This is a really nice AU concept as well as nicely summarized story. However, we are not so sure how we can directly add on to this concept as it is already well-baked in how the story may go.
But what we CAN say is that it can be the premise of a fanfic regarding the politics of Taiga Country.
Here is a list of ideas such a story may include. Also includes a fair amount of headcanons on recent Taigan history:
The brutal execution of one of The Triple Threat families sends shockwaves throughout the 'Higher Magic' communities.
Especially due to the fact that a low-ranking member of a criminal organisation consisting mainly of pyramid scheme victims somehow has the Proficiency (let alone the cold-heartedness) to actually, purposefully kill people.
The Fleecities then are what you can called a Pseudo-aristocracy due to their great influence. We are under no doubt they will exercise their power to force Taiga to act beyond its usual lax stance on law enforcement.
The Kings were influential in militaristic circles. Their great might once used to help save the world, have been questioned and eroded after the Songstress threat had been pushed back for another century. Therefore to maintain their relevance, they may join up with the Fleecities to assert the need for basically the Taigan version of the 'War On Terror'.
Taiga which has only recently completed the process of reversing the mass militarisation of the past, is under a moderate government still weak in comparison to the still strong Triple Threat Families and may seek to reduce their influence. Unfortunately, this vision comes at a bad time.
The Salazars, the smallest yet still a major contributor to the Songstress' defeat via the family's archeological expertise. Yet following the killings that left Zora Salazar the only surviving member of the family; the majority of their assets have been taken over by a trust and non-profit associations set up by Zora's parents.
The story will basically be the rising tension between the Triple Threat and the Taigan government, while the Banzai Blasters also suffer from its own disorganisation.

hi epithet fandom i have a single guess as to who they've cast for the songstress and I am going to be so insufferable about it if I end up being right so i'm just going to drop my unhinged(even more niche hyperfixation-fueled)ramblings here
i think it's going to be Cassie Ewulu it has to be she sings two very important songs in the series(the opening and say no) it would just be so fitting i am fully aware that I am probably just suffering flipping death withdrawals and that the only reason i got back into epithet erased after taking a break from it due to lack of content was because i remembered that Cassie Ewulu also voices the main fucking character of the game and because i was so desperate for a shred of content i could relate to Penny Doewood in any way i re-binged the entire show but you just gotta give me a chance on this one please
#ughhhhhh i really hope she does end up voicing her bc the skull brooch and claw(?) hands are making me think of regan/doppelganger penny#and i'm going insane over it#feel free to ignore me im running on a cherry flavored gfuel and 2 sticks of beef jerky and i think im on the verge of a panic attack#epithet erased#gaige loses its mind#flipping death mention

Prison of Plastic Thoughts
So, finished Prison of Plastic. Here are my spoilery thoughts: - I think I understand better why this show is called Epithet Erased. A very core theme is the pain that these powers cause, mainly to the inscribed themselves. - I really like this decision. I was expecting this to go in the direction of "oh no Inscribed hurt Mundies" like so many stories do. This is really tired, and always rubs me the wrong way because of how they are resolved. The notion of somebody's abilities being fundamental to who they are feels very ableist (looking at you, Legend of Korra). Being blinded would change my life, but it wouldn't make me any less. - On that note, I hope we get to see a character actually have their epithet taken away and to not get it back later in the same arc. I wanna see somebody grapple with what not having it means, and grow beyond their epithet. - The thing that unites all of the antagonists, is how they view powers. Mera's epithet causes chronic pain, Zora's sucks the joy out of life, Lori possibly accidentally caused the death of her mother with it. For these characters epithets are disabilities. This has a ton of narrative potential, and I'm immensely curious to see where Jello goes with this. - When you embrace that both Mundies and Inscribed can be the metaphorical representation of disabled people, EE is actually a very compelling disability analogy. Not sure if that's intentional, but I don't care! - Further on the EE-as-disability-analogy, I think this makes Molly the perfect protagonist. The first thing we see Molly use her epithet for is prevent overstimulation. While for other characters their powers are just nice boons or even active hindrances, Molly is the only one that relies on her Epithet. She runs counter to Bliss Ocean's ideals, in an interesting way. - Moving away from disability now! - Lori is so hatable, but also so lovable. Seeing her actually play along with Molly was so such an amazing moment, very sad to see how it ended. - Also, very conflicted on shipping Lori and Gio. They have such chemistry, but also Lori absolutely does not deserve him. I need her to finish her arc so I can see this ship god damn it. - Rick is the best. I envy his energy. - I totally thought Ricks friends in Ocean Country were killed for helping a slave escape for a sec. - Naven has such twist villain energy. Same vibes as Ralsei. The way he talks to Lori and the fact he has Yoomtah as a driver are all very sus. - I really want to see what Trixie’s epithet is, assuming they have one. I’m expecting something super obscure. There’s also that crow, and the possible Songstress connection I’ve seen some people theorize about. - Giovanni kidnapping Molly is so on-brand. He was really great this arc in general, really. Didn’t have a lot of big, bombastic moments, but I actually liked that. Get to see more chill Giovanni. AKA, what makes him so cool.

I know this might contradict the established lore, but here's my headcanon as to how they ended up like this:
A few decades ago, the world as we knew it was still there. Then the Fleecities of the previous generation failed to stop the Songstress. At the same time, Ocean Country chose that moment to reveal itself. Havoc ensued.
The Taigan Government knew that with all the magic being thrown around, things were going to get very bad for everyone, so they devised a plan to wait out the fighting. The Barrier was created.
Unfortunately, it was drawing off the souls of all those inside when it was first set up, so they couldn't leave without using the souls of others that fell into the Mountain.
It's been decades, & there have been 6 Ocean Race who fell into the Mountain. Enter Rick (Frisk), who was curious as to the source of the legends...
Well that’s a perfectly fine but I should explain the general idea, it’s still got a few holes but I think it works well in the context of epithet erased, so through ways that I’m still working out a large majority of people which include most of the cast of epithet erased are trapped underground, they’re trapped by an epithet “barrier”(wasn’t Indus he promised)
Nobody can break this barrier, the underground has been trapped for eight years. Enter frisk who is given the arsene amulet, they’re told to never use it and to never let it out of their sight, they’re being hunted down because of the fact that they have the amulet and that this amulet could potentially be used to escape, and while they don’t like it If it means that they’re going to have to hurt a child they’re gonna do it.
All the original souls being patience, bravery, integrity, perseverance, kindness and Justice, and Chara are all alive, frisk is still the protagonist
