Just finished Lost for the 9000th time and sobbed just as hard as I did the first time (I also watched the last like 6 episodes back to back and that was NOT a good idea). It really is the most perfect, beautiful show ever made. Goddamn. I am in shambles but still absolutely in awe of how incredible that was (even though, like I said, I’ve seen it more times than I can count). Greatest show of all time, no contest.

the best bit of accidental world-building is, of course, in lotr when orcs use the word “menu” and imply that orcs have a concept of restaurants. my new favorite is in court of fey flowers, when emily says “do you think henry ford doesn’t use car puns?” implying that henry ford is still alive (due to the use of present tense) and has invented the car, thus setting the events of the story between 1896 and 1947 in the material plane.
