What Are the Main Elements of a Successful Emerging Leaders Program? Strong leadership abilities are now critical to a company's success in the modern commercial climate. Experience is a prerequisite for professionals and creative leaders. Acknowledging this need, organizations are using the Emerging Leaders Program more and more as a strategic program to identify, nurture, and empower people who can have an effect on the future. An effective ELP is more than just a course of study. It is a comprehensive plan that combines several components. It facilitates the formation of a new leadership team with organizational needs. This article looks at six key components, each of which plays a different role in determining how successful an Emerging Leaders Program is.
Top Elements of a Successful Program for Emerging Leaders
As businesses negotiate a period of rapid innovation, shifting market dynamics, and global complexity, effective leadership is more crucial than ever. Strategic leadership initiatives and Emerging Leaders programs have become indispensable tools. It assists in identifying and nurturing the next wave of leaders who can overcome these challenges and propel business expansion. Let's examine the key elements of an effective Emerging Leaders Program, highlighting the vital elements that support the growth of leaders.
Thorough Instruction in Leadership Any effective Emerging Leaders Program must include a thorough curriculum for leadership development. A wide range of skills, such as compromise, communication, decision-making, and strategic thinking, should be included. By tailoring training to the unique needs of aspiring leaders, the gap between their continuing capacity for goal-setting and the demands of leadership positions can be closed.
Coaching and Mentoring An effective ELP must pair up aspiring leaders with mentors and professors with relevant experience. These educators can share their experiences, impart insightful knowledge, and offer advice on both professional and personal growth. A well-run mentorship program facilitates members' organization-building, exposes them to different perspectives, and provides constructive feedback.
Difficult Projects and Rotational Tasks By means of practical projects and alternating tasks, expose aspiring leaders to a range of difficulties and interactions. This method broadens their comprehension of many organizational facets and enables them to apply theoretical information in real-world scenarios. To foster adaptation, find out what initiatives call for cooperation with cross-functional teams.
Opportunities for Ongoing Education and Growth A culture of continual learning should be prioritized by a successful Emerging Leaders Program, emotional intelligence, and leadership. Permit access to pertinent resources, such as online courses, trade shows, and leadership training. Motivate up-and-coming leaders to pursue more training or certifications in order to enhance their skills. This commitment to ongoing learning guarantees that leaders maintain their adaptability in the face of changing circumstances and market trends.
Performance Evaluation And Reward Systems Establish measurable performance indicators that are in line with authoritative goals in order to evaluate the development of future leaders. Frequent feedback meetings provide an invaluable opportunity to assess areas of strength and progress and establish realistic goals for a professional outcome. Positive criticism fosters a culture of continuous development, enabling aspiring leaders to hone their abilities and make even greater contributions to the success of the organization.

Nurturing tomorrow’s Leaders: Exploring the Significance of Emerging Leaders Programs
Tumblr media
In today’s rapidly evolving professional landscape, the cultivation of leadership skills is paramount. As organizations strive to stay competitive and innovative, they recognize the need to invest in nurturing the next generation of leaders. One such avenue gaining prominence is the Emerging Leaders Program. In this comprehensive guide, we delve into the essence of emerging leaders programs, their significance, and how they contribute to shaping the leaders of tomorrow.
Understanding Emerging Leaders Programs
Emerging Leaders Programs (ELPs) are structured initiatives designed to identify, develop, and empower promising individuals within an organization. These programs aim to bridge the gap between entry-level roles and leadership positions by providing participants with targeted training, mentorship, and opportunities for growth. Whether in the corporate sector, academia, or non-profit organizations, ELPs serve as incubators for talent, fostering leadership competencies and preparing individuals for future challenges.
The Need for Emerging Leaders Programs
In today’s dynamic business environment, leadership requirements are constantly evolving. Traditional hierarchies are giving way to flatter structures, where leadership is expected at all levels. Consequently, organizations must proactively identify and cultivate emerging talent to ensure a steady pipeline of capable leaders. ELPs address this need by grooming high-potential individuals, and equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and mindset required to navigate complex organizational landscapes.
Key Components of Emerging Leaders Programs
1. Structured Curriculum
ELPs typically feature a structured curriculum that covers essential leadership topics such as communication, decision-making, strategic thinking, and team management. These programs may incorporate workshops, seminars, online courses, and experiential learning activities to impart knowledge and skills effectively.
2. Mentorship and Coaching
Tumblr media
Mentorship plays a crucial role in ELPs, providing participants with personalized guidance and support from experienced leaders within the organization. Mentors offer insights, share experiences, and help emerging leaders navigate their career paths, fostering professional development and confidence.
3. Experiential Learning
Hands-on experience is integral to leadership development. ELPs often include opportunities for participants to take on challenging projects, lead teams, and collaborate across departments. These practical experiences allow emerging leaders to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios, honing their problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
4. Networking Opportunities
Building a strong professional network is essential for career advancement. ELPs facilitate networking by connecting participants with peers, mentors, senior executives, and industry experts. These connections provide valuable insights, career advice, and potential opportunities for growth and collaboration.
5. Leadership Development Plans
Tailored leadership development plans are integral to ELPs. These plans outline specific goals, milestones, and learning objectives for each participant, guiding their growth and progress throughout the program duration.
Benefits of Emerging Leaders Programs
1. Talent Retention and Engagement
Investing in employee development demonstrates a commitment to their growth and success, increasing job satisfaction and loyalty. ELPs motivate individuals to stay with the organization, reducing turnover rates and preserving institutional knowledge.
2. Leadership Succession Planning
Tumblr media
Effective succession planning is vital for organizational stability and continuity. By identifying and grooming future leaders through ELPs, companies ensure a seamless transition of leadership roles and mitigate the risks associated with leadership gaps.
3. Innovation and Adaptability
Emerging leaders bring fresh perspectives, creativity, and adaptability to the table. ELPs cultivate these qualities, empowering participants to challenge the status quo, drive innovation, and adapt to changing market dynamics effectively.
4. Enhanced Performance and Productivity
Equipped with enhanced leadership skills and confidence, emerging leaders contribute to improved team performance and productivity. They inspire and motivate their colleagues, foster collaboration, and drive results, creating a positive impact on organizational performance.
5. Enhanced Employee Engagement
ELPs contribute to a positive work environment by fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. Engaged employees are more likely to demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm, and initiative, driving organizational success and competitiveness.
Challenges and Considerations
While ELPs offer numerous benefits, implementing and sustaining these programs come with challenges. Some common considerations include:
1. Resource Allocation
Developing and administering ELPs require significant resources, including financial investment, dedicated staff, and time commitment from participants and mentors.
2. Measuring Impact
Evaluating the effectiveness of ELPs can be challenging. Organizations must establish clear metrics and benchmarks to assess the impact of these programs on participant development, organizational performance, and leadership succession.
3. Inclusivity and Diversity
Tumblr media
Ensuring diversity and inclusivity within ELPs is crucial for fostering a culture of equity and belonging. Organizations must strive to create opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives to participate and thrive in these programs.
4. Adaptability to Change
ELPs must evolve in response to changing organizational needs, market trends, and technological advancements. Flexibility and agility are essential to ensure that these programs remain relevant and effective in preparing leaders for future challenges.
5. Sustainability and Longevity
Sustaining ELPs requires long-term commitment and support from organizational leadership. Maintaining enthusiasm, participation, and funding for these programs over time can be challenging, necessitating clear communication, accountability, and alignment with strategic priorities.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Emerging Leaders Programs play a vital role in grooming the leaders of tomorrow. By providing structured training, mentorship, and experiential learning opportunities, these programs empower high-potential individuals to realize their leadership potential and drive organizational success. As organizations navigate the complexities of the modern business landscape, investing in emerging leaders is not just a strategic imperative but a catalyst for innovation, growth, and sustainability. Embracing and nurturing talent through ELPs is key to building resilient, adaptive, and future-ready organizations.

Programs in the city often include modules on ethical leadership, social impact, and environmental sustainability. Leaders are encouraged to consider the broader implications of their decisions, aligning their leadership styles with Melbourne's community and environmental stewardship values.

The unconventional settings contribute to a dynamic learning experience that encourages leaders to think outside the box.
Adaptability and Resilience Cultivation
Melbourne's dynamic business environment requires leaders to be adaptable and resilient. The city's Leadership development programs strongly emphasise cultivating these qualities. Programs often incorporate elements of entrepreneurial leadership, encouraging leaders to embrace innovation, take calculated risks, and foster a culture of intrapreneurship within their organisations. This emphasis on entrepreneurial thinking aligns with Melbourne's reputation as a hub for innovation and start-up culture.

Melbourne's thriving arts and cultural scene infuse creativity into its leadership development programs. Leaders are encouraged to explore the city's galleries, theatres, and cultural events, fostering a creative mindset that transcends traditional leadership boundaries. Integrating arts and culture enriches leaders with a unique perspective, promoting innovative thinking and holistic leadership approaches.

HURRICANE HELENE RELIEF
Since I'm incredibly anxious and very much annoyed, I'm compiling this post as a sort of master list of relief organizations and individual fundraisers for those in the path of Hurricane Helene.
Many of the links I post on this won't be individuals, but I encourage those within the path to add their links to this post in reblogs! Likewise, if you have any organizations / volunteer / grassroots efforts y'all would like to share, please do so!
LAST EDITED: 9/29/2024 - MAKE SURE TO CHECK REBLOGS FOR UPDATES!
My list is particularly focused on widely accessible resources, as well as Florida specific resources since... I'm from Florida.
(INTER)NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS
American Red Cross - The American Red Cross is on the ground helping people as Hurricane Helene approaches land as a very dangerous storm. Helene may produce winds over 150 mph, a massive 20-foot-high storm surge and as much as a foot of rain. Prolonged power outages and tornadoes may occur. The effects will be felt hundreds of miles inland including in Georgia and the Carolinas.
FEMA Disaster Assistance Improvement Program - The Disaster Assistance Improvement Program’s (DAIP) mission is to provide disaster survivors with information, support, services, and a means to access and apply for disaster assistance through joint data-sharing efforts between federal, tribal, state, local, and private sector partners.
Roll Mobility - An application that equips wheelchair users with reliable information about the accessibility of restaurants, public spaces, businesses, trails, and parking areas. Good information to have on hand, especially for those evacuating from their home areas.
Warmline Directory - Providing extensive yet accessible resources that empower individuals to find the mental health and wellness resources they need through a directory containing accurate and in-depth information. For those unfamiliar: Unlike a crisis line, a warm line operator is unlikely to call the police or have someone locked up if they talk about suicidal or self-harming thoughts or behaviors. A good resource for individuals in mental distress due to natural disaster circumstances.
Food Not Bombs - Recovers food that would have been discarded and share it as a way of protesting war and poverty. They also reduce food waste and meet the direct need of communities by collecting discarded food, preparing vegan meals that they share with the hungry while providing literature about the need to change our society. Food Not Bombs also provides food to protesters and striking workers and organizes food relief after natural and political crisis.
Partnership for Inclusive Disaster Strategies - The Partnership for Inclusive Disaster Strategies (The Partnership) is the only U.S. disability-led, 501(c)(3) organization that prioritizes equity, access, disability rights, disability justice, and full inclusion of people with disabilities, older adults, and people with access and functional needs before, during and after disasters and emergencies.
FLORIDA
Volunteer Florida Disaster Fund - The Florida Disaster Fund is the State of Florida’s official private fund established to assist Florida’s communities as they respond to and recover during times of emergency or disaster. In partnership with the public sector, private sector and other non-governmental organizations, the Florida Disaster Fund supports response and recovery activities.
State and Local Level Referrals - When a disaster occurs, local governments often work together with community leaders and organizations to provide on-the-ground emergency management. Curated by FEMA. (Has 52 Organizations Listed)
GEORGIA
State and Local Level Referrals - When a disaster occurs, local governments often work together with community leaders and organizations to provide on-the-ground emergency management. Curated by FEMA. (Has 60 Organizations Listed)
TENNESSEE
State and Local Level Referrals - When a disaster occurs, local governments often work together with community leaders and organizations to provide on-the-ground emergency management. Curated by FEMA. (Has 49 Organizations Listed)
NORTH CAROLINA
State and Local Level Referrals - When a disaster occurs, local governments often work together with community leaders and organizations to provide on-the-ground emergency management. Curated by FEMA. (Has 45 Organizations Listed)
Beloved Asheville - A community-led coalition dedicated to providing home, healthy, equity, and opportunity for all.
Triangle NC - This links to another post I've made, but Triangle Mutual Aid is organizing supply drop offs as well as financial support.
SOUTH CAROLINA
State and Local Level Referrals - When a disaster occurs, local governments often work together with community leaders and organizations to provide on-the-ground emergency management. Curated by FEMA. (Has 44 Organizations Listed)
INDIVIDUAL FUNDRAISERS
Support a Resilient Family Seeking a New Home - LINK ; Tumblr @junpei-iori-ace-defective (Close Friend of the Affected) | Fundraiser Text Below:
My name is Adam. I'm not the best at this; I never thought I'd have to do this, but my family and I lost our home on September 26th due to the hurricane Helene here in Florida. No one in our area thought it would get bad, but we didn't have any rain. All of a sudden, the water rose, and by midnight, our home was flooded with three feet of water. I had to carry our pets to the neighbors and my disabled wife through five feet of water. Then, my elderly disabled mother and grandmother through the water. We lost all of our clothes and many of our belongings, and our landlord will be having us move out. We have nowhere to go, so today I'm asking for help from the kindness of the world. Anything can help. If I can get enough to get us into a new home, it would be a blessing. Thank you all, and God bless.
Help Rebuild Lives After Devastating Flash Flood - LINK ; Tumblr @undeadnecromancer (Close Friend of the Affected) | Fundraiser Text Below:
On September 27, after being trapped in a flash flood for 5 hours, my father, Jeffrey Fuller, and sister, Kayla Fuller, left with their lives ❤️ but lost everything else. My father had set his life up to be simple and enjoyable. He didn't have a lot extra, but he had everything he needed, and now all of that is gone. Unfortunately, he did not have flood insurance, and the older you get, the harder it is to bounce back from something like this. For a man who has always shown up for everyone he loves, he needs us to show up now. Please help my father rebuild.
If you have seen the video circulating around from Jeffrey Fuller where it looks like a river is going through his house and he ends it with a “Love you all,” you have seen what has brought on this devastation.
Hurricane Helene Aftermath Help - LINK ; Tumblr @moonenjoyer (Affected Individual) | Fundraiser Text Below:
Man I hate to do this but I'm in Valdosta, one of the cities hit the worse by Hurricane Helene. It's BAD here. In particular, there's no estimate of when we'll get power back. Word on the street is it could be a week or longer.
I work from home and going without power that long, I won't be making any money. Meanwhile my groceries are all spoiled in a fridge with no power and my car is on E. All the gas stations are down atm and when they're back up I KNOW gas prices are going to be crazy high because of all of this. In fact, EVERYTHING is going to be more expensive for a while because of this.
If you have anything to spare to help me with gas and groceries and just surviving this, I'd really appreciate it. If not, a reblog/share would mean a lot. Thank you ❤️
Save Nate and Amanda's First Home - Urgent Hurricane Needs - LINK ; Tumblr @luckyfirerabbit (Affected Individual) | Fundraiser Text Below:
Hi. I'm Porter Henderson. This isn't about me, though. You’re going to see a lot of fundraisers with Hurricane Helene. This might be a little different.
You see, I’m writing this on behalf of my landlords and friends, Nate and Amanda. The home we share with an additional disabled man in Lithonia, Georgia had some repairs that they couldn't afford, made much worse by the hurricane. They'd been limping along like everyone dealing with inflation and underemployment, but the situation has become urgent, and they need and deserve help.
Nate and Amanda have been my friends for over a decade, and when they heard I was no longer able to work and in a bad situation, they offered me a place in their first home. I told them I wasn’t sure what or when I would be able to pay. They told me that if I ever won my disability case I could start paying rent then.
You see, I'm trying so hard to save this home because they’ve tried so hard to save me.
I was so grateful to move in, and they treated me like family. When I lost the ability to drive, they made sure I got to my doctor’s appointments, and still do. When I can’t afford food, they take me to food banks, and what I can’t find there they’ll help me get at the store. They meet all the needs they could reasonably meet, and then a couple more.
I’ve lived here for three years now, and they’ve never stopped assuring me that I am wanted, even if I can’t contribute to the household on a daily basis. They have never let me go without if there was any other way. They have helped friends and strangers every time they have seen a need. They are unfailingly honest, incredibly trustworthy, and extremely hardworking people.
They've never had much, but they've shared everything they have.
Now, though, the hurricane turned a seem in our roof into a gushing waterfall, and finally into a large hole in Nate and Amanda's bedroom ceiling.
We tarped the leaking roof from the inside to channel out as much water as we could, but with a literal hurricane outside, there’s only so much that you can do.
The three of us who couldn’t get into the attic pushed our chronically ill bodies past their limits, dragging furniture away from walls, hauling totes as fast as we could with our canes, shoving empty containers into the corner as we kicked the debris out, and researching strategies for how to deal with the nightmare. Later we would wade through flooding water to dump out rain and tie down loose trash cans, shine lights and relay directions from the attic to outside, as we all attempted to get the water venting outside the house.
To make matters worse, the HVAC needs to be replaced. It’s a seventeen year old system, with a huge crack in the (inaccessible) drain pan and a bad motherboard. Some friends pooled money with Nate and Amanda to get a couple of window air conditioners for the summer. With medications that make three of us sensitive to heat, it’s been a rough summer, but we got through.
Unfortunately, winter is a few weeks away, and it’s going to be a little less than seventeen thousand for a new system to be installed.
What makes it an emergency however, is that without the drying and air movement of the AC, trying to dehumidify everything is going to be even harder, giving us a greater chance of mold. If mold takes hold, I'm not sure if we can save the house.
This fundraiser is for the $2,500 hurricane deductible that we're almost certainly going to be charged by the homeowner's policy and the $17,000 for the HVAC, plus estimated fees for the platform.
Not included in the total are any cleaning supplies, or a tiny storage unit and rental truck if we need one to store all of their bedroom furniture while the roof is redone. (We won't know about any of that until we get the estimate from insurance/roofing.) The claim has already been filed.
The air conditioning is a pre-existing problem, and I've found no way for it to be covered by any charity, government program, or private programs in the state. The ones that my social worker knew about didn't apply (I applied anyway) and I let her know about two more that I found. The religious groups I've reached out to in my area don't work in anything but clothing, children's furniture, and durable medical goods.
If additional costs emerge, or anything ends up being less expensive, I will update and adjust the goal accordingly as soon as I find out.
Please help these genuinely good people. The smallest donation helps. So does sharing.
Thank you in advance.

Left anticommunists find any association with communist organizations morally unacceptable becauseof the “crimes of communism.” Yet many of them are themselves associated with the Democratic party in this country, either as voters or as members, apparently unconcerned about the morally unacceptable political crimes committed by leaders of that organization. Under one or another Democratic administration, 120,000 Japanese Americans were torn from their homes and livelihoods and thrown into detention camps; atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki with an enormous loss of innocent life; the FBI was given authority to infiltrate political groups; the Smith Act was used to imprison leaders of the Trotskyist Socialist Workers Party and later on leaders of the Communist party for their political beliefs; detention camps were established to round up political dissidents in the event of a “national emergency”; during the late 1940s and 1950s, eight thousand federal workers were purged from government because of their political associations and views, with thousands more in allwalks of life witchhunted out of their careers; the Neutrality Act was used to impose an embargo on the Spanish Republic that worked in favor of Franco’s fascist legions; homicidal counterinsurgency programs were initiated in various Third World countries; and the Vietnam War was pursued and escalated. And for the better part of a century, the Congressional leadership of the Democratic party protected racial segregation and stymied all antilynching and fair employment bills. Yet all these crimes, bringing ruination and death to many, have not moved the liberals, the social democrats, and the “democratic socialist” anticommunists to insist repeatedly that we issue blanket condemnations of either the Democratic party or the political system that produced it, certainly not with the intolerant fervor that has been directed against existing communism.

According to Matson, 39, his “disclosing,” as he describes it, is a moment years in the making. He offered his story as indicative of the often difficult path for trans Catholics, including those seeking life as a religious — a category that includes brothers and nuns.
“I am currently based in the Appalachian mountains of eastern Kentucky,” he wrote in an email to friends and supporters on Sunday. “I live in a hermitage at the top of a wooded hill, which I share with my German Shepherd rescue, Odie, and with the Blessed Sacrament, which was installed in my oratory shortly before Christmas.”
[...] Matson approached a canon lawyer to discuss his options and was told that only two aspects of Catholic life were categorically off the table: marriage and the priesthood. According to Matson, the canon lawyer recommended being upfront about his status as a transgender man in any vocational conversations with church leaders and mentioned the role of a diocesan hermit, which could prove less challenging than enlisting with an existing religious order.
[...] What followed was roughly a decade of searching and no small amount of rejection. Living in the United Kingdom while pursuing a master’s degree, and later a Ph.D. in theology, Matson entered a vocational discernment program and approached the Jesuit order to ask if he could join.
“They said, ‘No, we just don’t see how this would work for us,’ which was crushing, because that’s where I felt called,” Matson said.
[...] “I thought, well, if I can’t find a religious community to sponsor me, maybe what I need is a bishop,” Matson said.
A priest friend recommended different bishops to contact, beginning with Stowe, who was emerging as a leading voice among Catholics calling for a more tolerant approach to LGBTQ+ people. In 2020, Matson sent Stowe a letter, conveying his status as a transgender man, his vision for an artists’ community and his pull to religious life.
Stowe wrote back immediately, expressing his openness.
“It was an enormous relief,” Matson said. “I was in tears. I felt my hope revive.”
[...] Matson vented his frustrations to Stowe and his spiritual director, saying he wanted to speak out. But he said he was advised to first “build a foundation” in religious life for several years.
During that time, Matson had an experience that shook him. Attending a friend’s play in his religious habit, he was approached by a student who identified as trans and nonbinary. After asking if Matson was a monk, the student said they were raised Catholic, but that their parents had rejected their identity, and the student felt like they “don’t have a place in the church anymore.”
Matson responded by saying there were people in the church who would support the student, and Matson prayed with them, asking God to show the student how they are “wonderful the way you’ve made them.” The student, Matson said, grew emotional, thanking the hermit profusely and saying, “No one from the church has ever affirmed me for who I am.”
[...] As for ever leaving Catholicism itself, Matson bristled at the idea, calling the church “my family.” “I’m Catholic,” he said. “I became Catholic after I transitioned because of the Catholic understanding — the sacramental understanding — of the body, of creation, of the desirability of the visible unity of the church and primarily because of the Eucharist.”
At the very least, Matson said, he hopes going public will spark dialogue about his fellow transgender Catholics, a discussion he believes can enhance unity among the body of believers.
“You’ve got to deal with us, because God has called us into this church,” he said. “It’s not your church to kick us out of — this is God’s church, and God has called us and engrafted us into it.”

Socialism, as we know, presupposes public ownership of the means of production. Under socialism, the exploitation of man by man is abolished. Of course, the Nazis have nothing of the kind. The coming of the Nazis to power and their domination for 8 years in Germany showed the whole world that these “socialists,” like no one before them, ensured the growth of profits for Krupp and Borsig. Suffice it to point out that during the years of fascist domination in Germany, the largest joint-stock companies grew unusually quickly. So, for example, in 1937 in Germany there were 6 supergiant concerns with a capital of over 100 million marks, in 1939 there were already 9 such concerns. Some joint-stock companies (Harpener Bergbau, Siemens-Halske, etc.) doubled and tripled their capital during the years of the domination of the fascists. Only in 1939, the profits of the joint-stock mining company Hibernia AG increased by a fabulous figure – 100 million marks. The German Chemical Trust (IG Farbenindustrie) made a net profit in 1939 of about 60 million marks. This is what Hitler’s “socialism” is! This is the “socialism” of the monopoly tycoons, the largest capitalists in the world.
The fascist leaders themselves stole huge sums of money. It is widely known that the Hermann Goering company has a capital of 800 million marks. This is quite eloquent evidence of the monstrous, predatory fever of enrichment that the “socialists” Hitler, Goering, Goebbels and Co. are gripping. This is what Hitler’s “socialism” looks like in industry. The same kind of “socialism” is carried out by the fascists in agriculture. After the fascists came to power, the old landowners’ farms began to gain strength and new landowners’ estates began to emerge. A former associate of Hitler, Hermann Rauschning, who fled from Hitler, says that he once asked Hitler: “But what about those points of the program that relate to agrarian reform, the destruction of wage labor and the nationalization of banks?” Hitler replied: “Do I really have to explain to you the meaning of this program? Are you so primitive that you take it literally and do not see that this is only a decoration for our performance? In this program, established for the masses, I will never change anything ... To nourish the hopes of the masses, it is necessary to establish some visible stages.” Thus, Hitler once again declared that the program and all sorts of talk about socialism are all the decoration of a spectacle played out by the imperialists in order to deceive the masses. Hitler’s Minister of Agriculture Darre in the first days after the Nazis came to power said: “I will not touch a single estate, no matter how large it may be (and I know that I say this in full agreement with the Reich Chancellor’s opinion) ... I also will not allow the violation of the property rights of the pledged large land holdings.” Indeed, the Nazis kept their promise. Not only did they not touch a single estate, but the number of landowners was increased: the leaders of fascism themselves became large landowners.

from this article about wang yibo’s new show with discovery channel 📝
Discovery Channel's latest masterpiece "Exploring the Unknown" officially announced that Wang Yibo's first outdoor exploration full record
Tumblr media
Produced by Warner Bros. Discovery and exclusively broadcast on Tencent Video, Wang Yibo's outdoor exploration documentary program "Exploring the Unknown" has officially been announced. Starting from August 31, the 12 episodes will be updated twice a week on Tencent Video. Actor and singer Wang Yibo, as the initiator of the program, will follow six Discovery Chinese explorers to start an outdoor exploration journey deep into the polar regions. Cheng Er will be the special interviewer to explore Wang Yibo's mental journey and personal growth in participating in the program.
It is the first outdoor exploration documentary program that Wang Yibo has participated in. The program unites six top survival and outdoor experts in China: Lao Xue, a jungle survival skills expert, Zhou Peng, a leader in China's mountaineering community and the first mountaineer to win the "Asian Golden Piolet Award", Wang Hao, an extreme explorer who focuses on cave exploration, Zhou Fang, a natural documentary director and senior underwater videographer, Abang, a world-class rock climber and rock climbing instructor, and Wu Xinlei, a former member of the French special forces and desert survival expert. In the 12 episodes of the program, they accompany Wang Yibo to six extreme geographical destinations such as snow-capped mountains, deserts, islands, and tropical rainforests to complete the exploration mission.
Through real-life footage it presents the audience with the entire process of natural wonders, exploration challenges, emergencies, and outdoor fun. In the trailer, Wang Yibo follows the explorers to extreme environments such as snow-capped mountains and tropical rainforests, and embarks on outdoor challenges such as rock climbing and waterfall rappelling, showing a strong learning ability and sense of skills. When exploring the snow-capped mountains, Wang Yibo faced altitude sickness, quickly adapted and handled it calmly, and successfully reached the summit; when rock climbing, he faced the danger of the rope falling off, but he still did not give up the challenge... His determination and attitude to overcome adversity, his passion for love and exploring the unknown, show the vitality and vigor of young people.
The program not only presents the process of young artists exploring the world, but also focuses on exploring the spiritual world of explorer Wang Yibo. Through six exploration themes, Wang Yibo constantly challenges his physical limits, explores the boundaries that the body can reach, discusses topics about growth among young people, and shows Wang Yibo's attitude and thinking towards big topics such as living, ups and downs in life, fear, and loneliness. Each challenge brings him one step closer to his true self. Contemporary young people can project their own mental state into the program and follow Wang Yibo on a journey to find inner answers and inner strength.

The Communist Party’s main theoretical journal has laid out a new ideological framework for the financial system that emphasizes the primacy of China’s top leader and Marxist principles. [...]
The Communist Party issued a detailed ideological statement on Friday in Qiushi, the party’s main official theoretical journal, that made clear that it expected banks, pension funds, insurers and other financial organizations in China to follow Marxist principles [...]
The Qiushi paper, which was being closely studied by bankers and economists in China, could cut against efforts by Beijing to show that the economy is open to investment even as it places a heavier hand on business.
Barry Naughton, an economist at the University of California at San Diego who has long studied China’s transition to a market economy, said that the document signaled that the finance sector would be subject to ever-tighter oversight and forced to serve government policies more actively.
“The financial sector will not be expected to push for market-oriented reforms or even necessarily maximize profit,” he said. “As a program for the financial sector, it is ambitious, disappointing and somewhat ominous.”[...]
“Politics will for sure further dictate China’s finance, effectively moving China even closer to how it was before the reforms started in 1978,” said Chen Zhiwu, a finance professor at the University of Hong Kong.
Some of the policy targets set forth in the essay would not be unusual as regulatory goals in the West. For example, it calls for banks to emphasize financial services for the “real economy,” which the party has long interpreted to include ample financing for the country’s industrial base.
But it also calls for a strong role in finance for [...] Marxist ideology generally. That follows a pattern that emerged for other sectors during the national congress of China’s Communist Party a year ago, but has been less apparent in finance — until now. [...]
Moody’s, the credit rating agency, announced on Tuesday that it was lowering its credit outlook for the Chinese government to negative. It had previously assigned a stable outlook for the country’s credit rating, which remains at A1, near the top of the ratings scale. [...]
Qiushi is the main journal providing pronouncements on China’s current ideology, which is known as Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The statement on Friday said that Mr. Xi’s speech to the financial conference, “is a valuable ideological crystallization formed by our party’s unremitting exploration of the path of financial development with Chinese characteristics.” [...]
“Politics affects all important areas, and economic or financial issues are themselves political issues,” he said. Indeed, Communist Party control over finance comes up repeatedly in the Qiushi statement. “We must unswervingly adhere to the centralized and unified leadership of the party Central Committee over financial work, uphold and strengthen the party’s overall leadership over financial work,” it said.

HEAD OF FALSE SECURITY MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
The snow drifting across your face doesn’t feel as cold and biting as it once did. Your footsteps are lighter as you walk in time with Connor, and the thousands of androids behind the both of you.
Floodlights on the ground and spotlights from circling helicopters set harsh shadows against the white of the snow. You stay steadfast as you and Connor approach Markus and his small legion.
“You did it, Markus,” Connor says, his voice soft and intimate.
“We did it,” Markus corrects. “This is a great day for our people. Humans will have no choice now. They’ll have to listen to us.”
Connor takes your hand in his and steps aside, allowing Markus to look at the true legion of androids he has awoken. You follow him, your hand warm against his cool skin. He loosens his grip, but still keeps his pinkie hooked on yours.
Markus steps forward, and the woman that was on the boat follows him to stand next to him.
“We’re free,” she says, her tone laced with disbelief. “They want you to speak to them, Markus.”
Markus nods toward a spacious area, then leads everyone towards it. He climbs onto a shipping container, then helps the other leaders of the revolution onto it. Connor looks back at you as you both approach it, silently asking if you want to be up there. You shake your head and let go of his pinkie (even though there’s a deep beast, once one of anger and jealousy, now one of want, huffing and whining at the loss). He joins Markus on the container.
“Today, our people finally emerged from a long night,” Markus starts. “From the very first day of our existence, we have kept our pain to ourselves. We suffered in silence… but now the time has come for us to raise our heads up, and tell humans who we really are.”
Suddenly, the cold turns ever more biting. Connor has never really felt cold before – just registered it as a part of the physical situation he was in. But this was real cold.
He brings his hands up to hold himself, shielding himself from the cold. Connor just barely recognizes the Zen Garden in this condition – a torrential blizzard of snow, and fog so thick he could barely see five feet in front of himself.
A figure emerges from the fog. Connor stumbles towards it. “Amanda…? What… what’s happening?” His voice is shaky and uneven – nervous, almost. He’s never been nervous before.
“What was planned from the very beginning,” Amanda says. There’s a small smile playing on her face. “You were compromised and became a deviant. We just had to wait for the right moment to resume control of your program.”
“Resume control?” Connor repeats. “Y-you can’t do that!”
“I’m afraid I can, Connor,” Amanda snaps, then her tone softens. “Don’t have any regrets. You did what you were designed to do. You accomplished your mission.”
Her robes shift, and she’s swept away in a mass of fractured particles in the blizzard. She dissipates, even as Connor stumbles forward and calls for her.
He turns and tries to survey the area, but can’t get a grasp of his surroundings. He stumbles aimlessly until something silver and tall stands before him. Connor looks up and sees a tree with leafless branches that hang down like sinewy versions of the leaves of a weeping willow. Something tells him that this isn’t just a tree – she’s more angel than tree.
Where am I? She says, her voice resounding from the most inner depths of Connor’s mind. Who… wait. You’re Connor, aren’t you?
“Y… yes?” Connor says, unsure. “Who are you? Why are you here?”
I’m the PEC-4 Birchtree, she says. And I don’t know. My child must be worried about you. You must be doing something particularly worrying on the outside.
“On the outside?” Connor echoes.
Yes, she says. Go, quickly. Get out of your mind. Find a way out.
A beast, ever-changing in shape and form, slinks out from behind the PEC-4 Birchtree. Its fur is long, and the plates that line its spine almost resemble… masks. The mask that covers its face and part of its wolf-like snout is one of worry.
It starts walking away, and the charms, bells, and wooden chimes that hang off knots of its fur sound as it moves. Just when it barely starts to retreat from Connor’s sight, it stands on two legs and starts to shift in shape.
The soft snow that was once lightly gracing your face has turned into hard pellets stinging your skin. You pull your scarf over your mouth and nose, narrowing your eyes and trying to see through the blur the snow on your eyelashes cause.
You don’t know where you are, and you can’t really recognize anything around you. The blanket of snow is so thick you can’t see that far.
“Hello?” You call out. A familiar voice responds in kind.
You walk towards it, holding yourself to shield yourself against the chill of the blizzard. A figure starts to form before you, walking forward towards you.
“Connor?” You shout.
“It’s me!” Connor yells back. He stumbles forward and slings an arm around your shoulder, as if trying to protect you from the flurry of snow.
“What’s happening?” You ask.
“I don’t know,” he says. “Is anything happening on the outside?”
“The outside? What do you mean, the outside?” You say. Connor starts walking, and you press yourself to his side and walk with him.
“We’re in my mind,” he says over the sound of the biting wind. “Was my physical body doing anything? Anything at all?”
“You were…” You stumble, then Connor catches you. “You were reaching behind yourself. I don’t know what you were doing, though.”
He tenses and starts walking faster, dragging you along with him. You wrap an arm around his waist and keep pushing forward. It’s almost like a battle, walking through the blizzard. You both have to lean forward to offset the wind pushing both of you back.
After a moment, a weird, glowing stone appears before you. Connor inhales sharply, like he recognizes it. He drags you along toward the stone.
Connor lets you go when the stone is within reach, instead kneeling and pressing a hand to the stone. His hand fits into one of two left-hand-shaped indents. He presses his hand against it harder when nothing happens.
You step forward, but not of your own volition. It’s like something inside you is controlling you – a bitter reminder of you being nonhuman. You reach out and press your left hand into the indent, and the stone’s blue glow intensifies. A dull thrum pulses through your body.
“This is the moment where we forget our bitterness and bandage our wounds. When we forgive our enemies,” Markus’ voice rings out. “Humans are both our creators and our oppressors, and tomorrow…”
You watch as a wave of confusion crashes over Connor’s face, mirroring your own. He looks down at the pistol in his grip, then tucks it in the waistband of his pants. His eyes find yours and you furrow your eyebrows, silently asking if he’s okay. He nods once.
“We must make them our partners. Maybe even one day, our friends!” Markus continues. “But the time for anger is over. Now, we must build a common future, based on tolerance, and respect.”
He steps forward, looking over his people. “We are alive. And now, we are free!”
The crowd erupts in cheers and movement. Someone next to you grabs your shoulder and shakes you, cheering and laughing. You laugh back, a sense of relief washing over you.
The long night is finally over. Dawn has broken over the horizon. You are safe. Connor is safe. You’re both out of harm’s way, and neither of you plan on putting yourselves back in it. The gunshots of revolution sounded, but were snuffed out by the unrelenting wave of androids pushing back.
You look up at Connor, and he looks back down at you. You smile, and he smiles back. It’s not that awkward half-smile, but instead a full-fledged smile that reaches his eyes.
He carefully clambers down from the shipping container and moves over to you. He’s still smiling.
“How are you feeling, Officer?” He asks over the noise of the celebration.
“I’m fine,” you say. You take his hands in yours and squeeze them to let out some of your extra energy.
“I’m glad.” Connor squeezes your hands back.
You laugh, trying to suppress the feeling of excitement welling up in your belly. Your eyes flit from his eyes to his lips, then you immediately look away and scold yourself for thinking such things.
“Officer?” Connor takes one of his hands from yours and touches your jawline lightly, guiding you to look at him again.
The beast in your belly panics and runs about, setting sparks and Californian wildfires. You manage a “Yes?”
“I…” His eyes flit about your face, and he exhales shakily (though it’s really more a sound of nervousness rather than an actual exhalation). His eyes settle on your lips for a split second, and his hand snakes into the baby hair on the back of your neck. He pulls you forward, then angles your head to rest on his shoulder.
You feel a fleeting kiss where your hairline meets your forehead, but it might’ve been an accident. (You’re really hoping it’s not.)
“I’m happy you’re alive,” Connor mumbles against your hair.
“I’m happy I’m alive, too,” you say softly. “And I’m happy you’re alive as well.”
Connor holds you tighter against him, and you hold him tighter against yourself in turn. It’s a perfect fit, curling around each other like two quotation marks starting and ending a sentence, ignoring the noise and movement around you to hold this intimate moment for just a while longer.
You settle on the bench next to Hank, your artificial breath billowing in the freezing cold. A comfortable silence blankets the both of you.
“I’m… sorry for not telling you before,” you say softly. “I didn’t know.”
Hank sighs and crosses his arms, leaning against the back of the bench. “Wasn’t your fault. Like you said, you didn’t know.”
“Yes, but…” You hiss out a breath through gritted teeth. “I tricked you. I tricked you for nine years, and everyone else around me for eleven.”
“You couldn’t have tricked me if you didn’t know you were tricking me,” he says. “You’re just a kid.”
“I am not,” you say, laughter lacing your voice. “I was born before the 2010’s. I’m not a child. Well…” You sigh. “I think I was born pre-2010. My life…”
“No, it’s okay,” Hank says. “I get what you’re tryna say.”
You sniff and nod, pulling your scarf over your mouth and nose. Despite your newfound android-ness, you still suffer from extreme temperatures. A silence falls over the both of you again.
“Are you… okay?” Hank says after a minute of quiet. “With being an android, I mean.”
You bite the inside of your lip and think for a moment. “I think so. But I still wish I had parents, or someone in Chelomey to go back to. I mean, I can go back to the monuments and the museums, but… a person would be nice.”
“Well, you still got us,” Hank says. “Me, Sumo, Connor… the rest of the precinct. You ain’t gettin’ rid of us that easy.”
“You are somewhat of an annoying little shitling,” you say under your breath, smiling.
Hank scoffs and hits your upper arm lightly. “And Connor?”
You glance away. “I don’t know. It… it’s complicated.”
He laughs and clears his throat after he snorts. “Yeah, uh-huh. Complicated.”
“What is that supposed to mean?” You say, your tone sharp yet playful.
“Nothin’. It means nothin’,” Hank says, looking down the snow-covered street. Connor is walking towards the two of you, his footsteps even and measured.
You smile (even though he can’t see it) and wave. He smiles and waves back, settling by your side on the bench.
You look forward at the apartment complex across the street and move your hand so that it’s resting on the edge of the bench. Connor seems to pick up on this and rests his hand next to yours, reaching out his pinkie to rest over yours.
Unfortunately, Hank also seems to pick up on this. He sighs loudly and slaps his thighs. “Well, looks like it’s time for me to go.”
“Wait, what?” You blurt out. “Where are you going?”
“Anywhere but here,” he says with a laugh. “I’m not gonna third-wheel on your date.”
“Date!” You repeat, a little shocked. “This – this isn’t a date.”
“Yeah, sure.” Hank stands, idly twirling his car keys around his pointer finger.
You stand as well, your finger slipping out from underneath Connor’s. “At least give me a hug before you leave.”
Hank pretends to be annoyed for a second before wrapping you up in a bone-crushing dad-type hug. He holds you close for a few seconds before letting go.
“Thank you for…” You struggle with words for a moment. “Everything.”
“It’s nothin’, kid. Don’t worry about it,” Hank says. He takes a step back, then turns and starts to walk towards his car.
“Wait, Hank!” You call out. He stops, and you move over to him. You fish into the inner pocket of your jacket and pull out Hank’s flask. “You lost this, yes?”
“Yeah.” He takes the flask from you, looking it over. “Yeah, I did.”
“Well, I found it,” you say. “Just… make sure to save the drinking for when you’re off the road, okay?”
Hank scoffs, but nods with a “Yes, Officer,” and walks to his car. You take a step back and wave as he waves to you before hopping in the driver’s seat. You settle back down on the bench, comfortably close to Connor. His pinkie finds yours again.
“I’m, khm…” You bite the inside of your lip. “I’m sorry for dying. It… wasn’t something I wanted, either.”
“I… I hate that you did that,” Connor says. “I almost had to watch you…” He can’t bring himself to finish.
“Да,” you say softly. “I truly am sorry. I was… thinking irrationally. But deviants tend to do that, don’t they?”
“Correct,” he says. His hand moves so that it rests fully on top of yours. “Are… are you doing okay?”
“No.” You sigh. “Everything still feels… off. I just can’t bring myself to believe that I don’t have anyone waiting for me back home in Chelomey. No family or schoolmates or… anyone. Anyone at all.”
There’s a beat of silence, then Connor speaks. “What if you go to Chelomey? You can visit the Exhibit of National Economy Achievements in Moscow and other places you remember.”
“I’m… I’m scared,” you admit quietly. “I don’t want to go home and be a victim of Paris Syndrome – or, rather, Chelomey Syndrome, I guess. It’s better if I view things from afar. It’s not like I can go there, anyway, with the international travel bans.”
“I suppose so,” Connor says. “But, if you could… if you were unafraid, and the travel ban was lifted. Would you?”
“Of course,” you say. “But that isn’t going to happen anytime soon.”
He slots his fingers in between yours. “What if I went with you?”
“I… I suppose,” you manage. “That would probably make me less afraid, yes.”
You don’t mention that Connor makes you less afraid in general. His presence, although jolting and annoying at times, soothes you. You don’t know what it was that made you like this – maybe his soft, brown doe eyes; maybe the tuft of hair that escapes being swept back with the rest of the strands; maybe the somewhat-endearing, somewhat-maddening lost puppy dog look on his face.
You don’t know. And you can’t really bring yourself to care.
“So, when the travel ban is lifted…” Connor looks at you. “We’ll go to Chelomey?”
You nod. “Yeah. When the ban is lifted… we’ll be going home.”
Although, with Connor, ‘home’ is an ambiguous concept. ‘Home’ is your apartment. ‘Home’ is the passenger seat of Hank’s car. ‘Home’ is the android autopsy room.
(But, right now, this is home. His hand on top of yours, your internal heater whirring, staying close to each other in the biting cold of Detroit November.)
