It’s my birthday week 💕 I wanted to make something mod and aesthetic, depicting some of my favorites. Another year around the sun, of getting older, wiser, and hotter. I’ll always remember 31 as the year I saw Hozier 4 times, and fell in love with Elvis. I’ll be celebrating this bday at Graceland 🎶 I’m excited to see what 32 will bring 🎂

Not sure if I agree with that. As far as I'm aware, kissing someone that young wasn't considered illegal or immoral where she lived, and I don't remember him going any further than a kiss in the movie.

(It's been a while since I watched that movie, hasn't it? I wonder if Maya and Pearls would like it?)

to the vriska who sent in in that ask (and the kankri she's annoyed with)- maybe a good compromise would be to listen to some other 50s songs? i kin a character who was alive in the 50s and i've been listening to a lot of songs from that era for nostalgia reasons. i don't know much about homestuck but i know grease, and the characters in that would've been a year younger than my 50s-era kintype, so maybe i can help.

my favorite musician from that era is chuck berry, he's got some amazing songs. "school days" is my favorite, and also "roll over beethoven" and "johnny b. goode"

another good musician is bobby day- i like his song "rockin' robin"

alternatively, the grease soundtrack also has more songs on it than just "greased lightning"! "born to hand jive" and "rock n' roll is here to stay" are both fun to listen to.

you could also go for elvis songs. i guess. i am NOT a fan of elvis but he was popular and his songs are classics. "hound dog" and "jailhouse rock" kinda fit the greaser vibe? vaguely? i dont know, i was a nerd not a greaser.

For us, Vegas was his pinnacle, his zenith - everything was just right.

Have you ever posted about Circus Time Pizza in Michigan? If not then here lol. (I'm just going to copy and paste my instagram post🤫)

Circus Time Pizza was a restaurant/entertainment center opened in 1983 by Cass S Opyt and Neal J Mason, which also closed the following year due to bankruptcy. The mascot was a clown named Jell E. Bean and I believe along with the animatronic they would have someone dress up as him.

According to a newspaper article, inside the restaurant there was a main stage with multiple animatronics, along with side rooms where individual animatronics would do impressions of Kenny Rogers and Elvis. The main group of animatronics supposedly consisted of a rabbit who played drums, a tiger lady, a bear who played guitar, an elephant who played saxophone, and a panda bartender who can be seen on the ad.

Oh, I dig this SO hard!!! This is exactly the kind of weird, tacky stuff I love. (Bonus points for clowns as well.) It was in the (in)famous Dort Mall, too! Kudos to gathering so much on this place! I hope more gets found, but given the obscurity and locality of it, I'm not expecting professional video or anything.

I swear, these places always ended up going bankrupt. :( They were too good to last in this world...
