[ emily bader, cis woman, she/her ] — spotted in the streets of brooklyn, it’s CECILIA MASON. they have lived in the city for ALL HER LIFE, working as a SKATING INSTRUCTOR/OLYMPIC MEDALIST. the 28 year old will probably be seen around WILLIAMSBURG a lot, seeing as that’s where they live. people say they can be a bit COMPETITIVE and DESPONDENT, but friends know them to be DETERMINED and GENEROUS. you know for sure you’ve found them when you’ve come across GLITTERING BODICES PACKED INTO A TRUNK, A PLANNER SCRIBBLED ALL OVER, BRAIDS COMING LOOSE. welcome to brooklyn, it’s been waiting for you!
name: cecilia mason
nickname: cece
age & birthdate: 28, tba
gender & pronouns: cis woman; she/her
sexuality: biromantic, bisexual
hometown: park slope, brooklyn, new york
current residency: williamsburg, brooklyn, new york (shared apartment with elliot mason)
languages: english, asl, spanish, enough french to get by
education: sports medicine bachelor from nyu
occupation: olympic medalist for pair figure skating skating instructor
the youngest of the mason lot, cecilia was always eager for love and attention. with so many siblings, she struggled with sharing at first, until through ballet classes, she learned of ice skating. it became young cecilia's obsession, with a leisured activity soon turning into competitions. love and attention, then, became regular - - not only from her parents and siblings, but from the audience and the judges.
she would go on to compete professionally, sweeping through regionals to nationals to the olympics. she gained bronze in 2018, and silver in 2022. the world of competition was supposed to be draining, but cecilia found herself thriving in it, wanting for more everytime. in between games, she did go to nyu and went into her elder siblings' route of something something medical, though even as she went through the motions, she knew she didn't particularly care for it more than she did skating.
on the way to qualify for 2026, pressure is high. she'd pour more blood than sweat after the us championship in january (whose win she went viral for - not for the first time - with her routine), when pushing too hard got her a messed up knee and a concussion after a fall. not being able to skate is by far the worst thing she has ever had to do, but PT needs to be slow and sure if she ever wants to get back out there - - which she does, but can she? either way, unable to cope being away from the rinks for too long, she has recently taken a position as coach/instructor to pass the time and keep her sharp.
personality wise, she's very centered, very focused - which ends up making her leave everything else but the professional as things of importance. she's trying to pick this up now, getting back to friends and family, but besides she's still struggling with being off the ice, being behind, and she began to make riskier choices than she, an usual goody two shoes, would do.
wanted connections
skating partner (wc on the main soon!)
crushes (one sided or not), fwb and exes
friends, fans and neighbors
anything bc i'm blanking !!

Hey anon... seems Tumblr has eaten my answer to you 😭
You sent me a link to a 2018 radio interview where Jared mentioned Colin just like that. As if it were normal. And we all know it is NOT normal.
I know this interview. Recently someone sent me the link to it, to what I call the "That's an easy one" - interview and I mildly freaked out. Discussed it here:
I haven't yet processed the fact he just said the name 😂 Yet, in 2021 he was weird again not mentioning him in an interview - which was the "Not my hair but Alexander's hair"- interview - about the movie. He called Colin Alexander instead of, well, Colin. Although the problems he talks of only popped up because of the actor being black Irish and not blond, so he looked slightly like an 80ies glam metal singer with his hairdo and extensions, something Alexander's actor who shall not be named once called "low hanging fruit" to pick on the movie. Jared took the opportunity right there. "Not my hair, but Alexander's hair" - give me a break. Totally normal.
I looked up the last time Colin mentioned Jared, in the "Jared Leto did okay" — interview from 2013 and thought about Colin's answer. He repeated the name and agreed with the interviewer that "Jared's done great, yeah absolutely yeah absolutely". I thought about how he didn't name him by first and last name, as he did Elliot Cowan and Anthony Hopkins afterward, whom he said he had seen through the years. This "Jared" actually sounds like someone who was close enough to grant him the status of first name only acquaintance and who's still—this interview takes place 9/10 years after the movie—present in his life. It's Jared; we don't need to give him a last name in this conversation because I have just texted him this morning. That's what it sounds like. So this was December 2013. In January 2014, we had the Golden Globes and Colin's restrained reaction to Jared's win on camera. In April, Jared had his #ThinkingAboutYou throwback moment in Krabi, Thailand. And in July Colin shot his Intenso fragrance clip for Dolce and Gabbana on Stromboli, Italy, and stayed in Naples and Capri after that. He loved it so much he still gushed about Stromboli in 2022, not unlike he did with Morocco. He would evoke his memories of Marrakech a lot during his interviews for Intenso, if I remember correctly. Funny enough Jared cruised the Tyrrhenian Sea, too. Corsica, Ponza, Capri, visiting the same places as Colin, just a week apart. They almost met... I mean, theoretically they could've
never mind. In this reality they have severed all ties ages ago, right?

ASS YOU LIKE IT
Opening Friday in Scottsdale:
Tumblr media
My Old Ass--18-year-old Elliot lives on an idyllic Canadian cranberry farm, but can't wait to head to college and start her life. She confesses her feelings, successfully, to her summer-long crush, and then she and her friends camp out on an island and take 'shrooms.
Under this fungal influence, Elliot, played by Maisy Stella, finds herself sitting next to the Old Ass of the title, her 39-year-old self, played by Aubrey Plaza. Younger Elliot is eager to hear dish and glamour about her future, but Older Elliot is cagey; she just advises her to avoid anybody named Chad. Soon after, Younger Elliot meets a nice young man while swimming. Guess what his name is.
The wish to go back and offer guidance and comfort to your younger self is a human perennial, perfectly expressed in the Faces anthem "Ooh La La." My Old Ass, written and directed by Megan Park, works the premise ingeniously by taking it, one might say, ass-backwards. Thus we see the story from the younger heroine's point of view; that is, from the version of her who, being young, knows everything and is unlikely to consciously accept an older person's counsel. Yet we also see Older Elliot's healthy influence on her behavior.
Stella carries the movie sweetly as Younger Elliot, with a suggestion that she's trying to present as more daring and sardonic and above-it-all than she really is. Her supposed mortification at her provincial circumstances is a less than convincing pose. In the much smaller role of Older Elliot, Plaza's guarded, pained manner complements Stella's performance amusingly, and credibly.
Percy Hynes White, as the amiable Chad, is the other standout of the small cast. The settings--the film was shot in Muskoka Lakes, Ontario--are breathtaking, and the movie glides very agreeably through its brief running time. There's one sequence, involving a Justin Bieber song, that's truly hilarious, but otherwise My Old Ass feels, really, a little mild and undemanding.
This, paradoxically, may be what's most striking about it. Elliot identifies as gay, you see; the crush with whom she makes out early on is a (slightly) older woman. Park doesn't make a big deal about this, and she's almost equally nonchalant when Elliot finds herself attracted to Chad and begins to question her long-held assumptions about her own sexuality.
In the real world, of course, and in this day and age, this probably really does reflect normal teen development. But I couldn't help thinking about the tizzy that this would have stirred up from a teen flick even ten years ago, much less twenty. Like 2018's Love Simon, the sunny, breezy My Old Ass may be most remarkable for how unremarkable it is.

PERSONALITY
-He was, and is sometimes, animated and disposed to tell bad jokes and talk always with sarcasm. At least that was at first, but after his time with his first Ranger team, it changed quite a bit. Now he's usually anxious, quiet, mostly when the superiors of the team are involved.
-During the conjoined missions he gets paranoid, untrustful of other high ranked officers or non-comissioned officers. He passes the time mostly around Noah, Luke or Alicia, and even Jackson stays near just in case.
-During the time he has been with the Specters, slowly his animated personality come back from time to time. Jokes during the trips between the bases, conversations filled of bullshit when they're on a bar and something like that.
-Deep down the surface, he's loyal. One of the most loyal people you might find. If someone ever ask James about it, he always says: "my brother is just him. Help him, he'll help you no matter what happens. Protect him and he'll burn everything to protect you as well. Attack him...and God forgives your soul."
BIOGRAPHY
Born in Sacramento, California, he is the little brother. His childhood was a happy one with the usual fights between siblings, everythings was normal. Everyone who met him during his kid days can say something similar, he was agile, quick and strongwilled, someone who doesn't bend down easily.
He enlisted after high school, motivated and talented, he was soon took as a recomendation to the US Rangers. And he passed, he became special forces with blood, sweat and tears. But then...everything went wrong. He really doesn't know why, what he did or what the motivations were, they just started. It was one hell on earth, cuts, punches, abuses, everything was daily and so recurrent that he started to think he did something wrong.
Month by month he stopped to be that excited and confident young man, he became shadow of what he used to be and the anxiety and nightmares were worst everytime. When he was back home, Elijah tried to not reveal anything, not wanting to worry anyone...except that James noticed something. Once his brother confronted him, he denied everything, telling him once and once again, he had the fault, he provoked them somehow...
Back on Fort Hamilton it was the same routine, and during the missions he never expected something else, but then he met Noah. The SEAL tried to be his friend and was decided to do something, for the first time in a while he felt hope. But he commited a mistake when he told HIS command officer...that night was one of the worst, and they threat him with doing the same to the other recruits inside the team.
More time passed and during 2018 he was called by Alicia and Jackson, with him watching the pure rage inside the Sergeant's eyes once he noticed the bruises and scars. When the medic walked away, he followed, just being curious. And then he heard what the Sergeant told the Captain, the risk he was in, and he went back to where he was feeling dizzy.
Die? They could've...? Why?! Wasn't enough with what he's been through?!
Then Alicia told him to go and pack. They were taking him with them to their base that same day. And soon he was in Texas too, where he found Noah as well, surprised to see him so...relieved when he saw eachother. That first hug was such a relieve, with him relaxing for the first time in a long time.
And soon Alicia told him about the trial, the lawsuit she was planning against those monters he had to cope with. In that moment all the rage and pain he had came out, and he asked her to destroy them. The smile on the Captain's face was of understandment, and so, they sunk every single one of them.
It has been difficult, the therapy, the pain and the nightmares. Everything still there, but slowly he has improved and he has become a bit similar to who he used to be. Now, if anything happens in the future and he's meant to choose between himself and his team...well, the answer is pretty much clear.
Everyone else has something to come back to.
SKILLS
-Specialized on stealth missions and recon assigments.
-Fluent on the languages he writes and speaks. Quick to learn others when he has the time.
-He prefers when he has to go undercover or with a little squad (usually with Alexander and Francis). But also he's part of the infantry group most of the time.
COMBAT
His combat style is mainly focused on stealth, it's the combat he was teached, and his first choice weapon is a Bowie knife as well. He is learning the combat it's taught to the Navy SEALS and he's teaching Noah the combat he was taught with the Rangers.
TRIVIA
-He consider Noah another brother and Elizabeth as his sister, also he host reunions with James and the GarcĂa's siblings on Sacramento. Their favorite activities are go play paintball and airsoft, he and Noah are the most competitives of them all.
-Luke has taken, somehow, the place of a mentor along the time of being of the team. They are the ones who keep together most of the time during missions, the Lieutenant keep him calm as well that protect him and he learns about some things Luke and Alicia do during the missions.
-He has a Camaro, a 2005 model, and he's so happy to have it. Once he lent it to Elliot and almost had a heartattack, since then he FORBID him to be even near to his car. Now he understand why the Captain keeps everyone except Luke away from her car.
-Elijah adores to sing, so when he's doing anything at the base, except training the recruits, he humms or directly sing. When they go to karaoke, he shines, and Noah has a video of him singing at a duet with Marcus.
-He has zero interest on a relationship, and knows as well that Jackson is on the same boat. They have even joked about living together once they retire, and the medic always bicker that it would be an amazing chaos.
-His callsign was beacuse one day, during lunch inside Fort Hamilton, some of the recruit screamed "Yo Delta!" just because. He looked on his direction like he was expecting they talk to him, since then he's 'Delta'.
-His favorite drink are peach ice tea, even during winter. It freak people out. And his favorite food is a beautiful good grilled meat with all the sides.

Having no idea how to be a mother, she leaves the parenting to her husband as she achieves success as the editor of a major newspaper. But Grace, the youngest of their three daughters, resents Lila and writes a book about her—a process that has her diving into Lila’s past, and learning more than she imagined. Pick up From Here to the Great Unknown. In 2022, Lisa Marie Presley asked her daughter Riley to help her finish her long-awaited memoir. A month later, Lisa Marie passed away—and the world would never know her story in her own words. As Riley grieved, she collected Lisa Marie’s tapes and listened to her mother’s stories—about Graceland, Elvis, her marriages and more—and it was then she knew she’d keep that promise: to tell the world her family’s story, to make her mother known. Written in both Lisa Marie’s and Riley’s voices, this heartwrenching story is deeply moving, revealing and healing.  What readers are saying: “I’ve been totally fascinated by all things Elvis Presley since I was a little girl,” says Melissa D’Agnese, FIRST Senior Editor.  “I also adore Riley Keough, Elvis’ granddaughter, ever since her spectacular performance in Daisy Jones & The Six. After hearing the tragic news of Lisa Marie’s passing, and that Riley was going to finish writing her mom’s memoir, I couldn’t wait to read it. Riley co-narrates the audiobook version with Julia Roberts, and I was enthralled from the very first line. An extraordinary story of family, love and legacy.”  Science fiction ‘Ministry of Time’ by Kaliane Bradley  Avid Reader Press Exhilarating adventure? Check! Time-travel magic? Check! Romance? Check! After being sentenced to life in prison, Celaena gets the chance of a lifetime: to compete against 23 other murderers, thieves and warriors in a deadly competition. The prize? Her freedom, unimaginable riches and a chance to serve as the King’s Champion. But when an even more deadly outside force turns up, Celaena must decide what truly matters. What readers are saying: “Celaena’s wit, humor and strength had me cheering for her from the get-go and Maas’ writing keeps you engaged from the very first page,” says Ostergard. “Plus, it’s the first of a series—so I cannot wait to read more!” Historical fiction ‘Fifth Avenue Glamour Girl’ by RenĂ©e Rosen  Berkley Readers are taken back in time to 1938 New York City in this lush, captivating saga. When Gloria Downing is desperate for a change, she meets a young, idealistic woman named EstĂ©e Lauder. Gloria lands a job at Saks Fifth Avenue, which opens doors of opportunity for EstĂ©e’s big ambitions. But they soon come to realize just how hard two women must fight to turn their lofty dreams into reality. What readers are saying: “Every woman I know has used some Estee Lauder product, but few would think about how her empire got started. The fictional characters and elements created by the author add to the story of the cosmetics giant and humanize her journey. I am recommending this to my book group for sure.”  Young adult ‘American Royals’ by Katharine McGee Ember From best-selling author Katharine McGee comes a fun and flirty novel about America’s royal family. While Princess Beatrice is preparing to become America’s first-ever queen, her sister Samantha is off causing a ruckus with the media. Elsewhere, Nina is nursing a broken heart, and Daphne is trying to figure out a way to crawl her way up the social ladder. What follows is the perfect blend of scandal, intrigue and family drama. What readers are saying: “Filled with romantic messiness and love triangles, family drama, backstabbing, but also beautiful relationships, American Royals was a fun and engaging read, and I can’t wait for the next in the series
talk about an ending!” Family saga ‘Hello Beautiful’ by Ann Napolitano  The Dial This marvelous novel by bestselling author Ann Napolitano is described as a loose retelling of Little Women. The story follows William Walters, who thinks it’s fate when he meets Julia Padavano during his freshman year of college. Her family is so warm and welcoming — and his is not. But when ghosts from William’s past show up, Julia and her sisters are met with a catastrophic shift that might threaten their bonds forever. A sweeping and emotional family saga. What readers are saying: “My three sisters and I just started a book club and a librarian suggested this novel about a close-knit group of four sisters. How perfect!. I love Little Women, and this story is the perfect homage to that book.” Cozy mystery ‘Guilt and Ginataan’ by Mia P. Manansala  Berkley Murder, mayhem and a slew of mouthwatering recipes abound in this fun whodunit! The annual Shady Palms Corn Festival is back, and crowds have arrived to enjoy treats, crafts and the impressive corn maze. But when Lila Macapagal and her Brew-ha Cafe crew, Adeena Awan and Elena Torres, are in the maze, they find a dead body—and Adeena is a suspect. Lila steps in to clear her friend’s name and crack the case! What readers are saying: “This is another fast-paced, twisty and fun addition to this series.  As with each book, the small-town setting is inviting, and I love the family-owned kitchen and the loyal friendships. But the engaging characters, the tantalizing food, and the mystery make this series and this book shine.” Source link

Will Cowboys trade or cut Ezekiel Elliot?
Tumblr media
By: BenJarmin Munguia
Date: November 3, 2024
The second reunion for running back Ezekiel Elliot and the Dallas Cowboys almost looks like they are coming in for another divorce.
On Saturday, it was announced that running back Ezekiel Elliot would not be traveling with the team to Atlanta to play the Atlanta Falcons. He’ll be inactive for that matchup due to disciplinary actions. According to NFL Reporter Jane Slater, Eliiot has been “distracted this season” and has missed three team meetings, with Friday’s meeting being the final straw.
At First, Elliot was drafted in the 2016 NFL Draft from Ohio State; he was drafted 43rd overall by the Dallas Cowboys. Elliot was the NFL’s rushing leader in 2016, and in 2018, everything fell off afterward, and he was cut after the 2022 season.
After spending a year in New England, the Cowboys needed a running back after Tony Pollard signed with the Tennessee Titans in free agency. They tried the Ezekiel Elliot experience again, signing the former Ohio State standout to a one-year $3 million contract, this time with more negative results.
Elliot has only rushed for 148 yards on 41 carries, scoring 2 touchdowns in his second reunion with Dallas. It’s also important to note that the Cowboys are last in rushing yards on the season, with 519 yards.
It’s pretty possible that Elliot could be traded before the trade deadline on Tuesday, or the Cowboys could pull the plug on the reunion early and release him since they do have Dalvin Cook and Rico Dowdle on their roster.

A Hip-Hop Salute to Mad Skillz for Being A Light in His Community
Tumblr media
February 13th, 2023, marks the fourth year of celebrating Mad Skillz day in the greater city of Richmond, Virginia. Skillz spent the day commemorating by giving back.  https://twitter.com/SkillzVa/status/1625160790398435328?s=20     A Big Honor for Mad Skillz In 2019 the Mayor of Richmond, Virginia, named February 13th Mad Skillz Day after the prolific rap artist with larger-than-life talent and an even more significant contribution to the hip-hop industry and the city from whence he hails.  https://twitter.com/LevarStoney/status/1095797205716348932?s=20 The Rise of Mad Skillz 1996 signified a breakout year for artist Shaqwan Lewis aka Mad Skillz. His album "From Where?" pushed him center stage in the industry, but it wasn't unexpected. Hip-hop was an undeniable passion for Lewis. His voracious appetite to consume everything he could hip-hop was a hunger he nurtured throughout high school in Richmond, Virginia. According to Skillz, "he'd been a hip-hop fan since day one. It always seemed like it was speaking to him directly." But Hip-hop was not merely an elusive dream that Lewis couldn't touch. Lewis had the skills to match his passion; he was madly skilled. Lewis was nice with the verse but even nicer with the pen. And it was through hard work and dedication that he caught his first spotlight.  It was only a short time before Skillz transitioned from performing to scribing lyrics. Skillz eventually hooked up with producer extraordinaire Timbaland through Magoo and signed with Timbaland's label. While working under Timbaland's label, he collaborated on several projects and toured with The Missy Misdemeanor Elliot. But Skillz was just getting started. A Strong Pen Game Lewis went on to sign with Rawkus records. While with Rawkus, he released what is now known as the hip-hop classic "Ghostwriter." https://youtu.be/CTOCHnYsv4Q Ghostwriter would be a lyrical revelation, a snapshot into Skillz's super talent and his contributions to the industry that few knew about. According to Got Mad Skillz, his biographical platform, "Eventually, he came to be known as a first-rate lyrical gun-for-hire and went on to write songs for Diddy and Will Smith.  More to Accomplish But still, Skillz was only scratching the surface. He had so much more to contribute, and he did. Lewis recorded seven albums. He also was the creator of the feature series Hip-Hop Confessions, which hosted some of the biggest names in the industry. https://youtu.be/l0pAdujRDgk Lewis toured extensively as MC, and of notable mention is his time on stage with DJ Jazzy Jeff. https://youtu.be/qXeH_QW7-b0   He became a legend for his iconic yearly wrap-up, where he recounted the most important events of the year through creative lyricism for 17 years.   Skillz Gives Back Despite all that Skillz has contributed to the industry by demonstrating his prowess and talent, he still wasn't done. The artist then turned his attention to empowering through education. In 2018 and 2020, Skillz poured more of his abilities and knowledge into the community as an artist-in-residence at the University of Richmond via a course entitled "Hip Hop in America."  In Conclusion FM Hip Hop honors those who excel in their craft and use their talents to empower the world. Mad Skillz has done both. This is a salute to, as inscribed in his bio, "Venerable Richmond, Virginia rapper Skillz, the hip hop head's hip hop head, the guy who spun on cardboard as a kid, sprayed graffiti, and deejay'd by connecting his mother's turntables together." But most importantly, this is a nod to all he has accomplished and continues to accomplish. Written By: Renae Richardson Read the full article
