Sometimes you think a bit to much and a horrifying realization hits you. About how everything is connected and how things affect each other.

Thinking here about how Mrs. Ella's son, Ollie was taken by people who freed her island from the Navy and how she steadily learned to forgive them and how she doesn't even know yet that her husband was killed by Jay's own sister. Thinking about how that sister got later killed by the Navy in return, thinking about this weird cycle of the suffering that all of them never seem to be able to escape.

Thinking about the fact that Jay is about to return to Zero and see Ella for the first time since she learned the name of Shadowbeard's killer. Wondering if she'd bring herself to say anything. If not now than if ever. What could she even say? Should she even say anything? Should she in her own grief be strong enough to confront the grief of another? Thinking many things as the hiatus slowly passes.

JUST THE FACT THAT SHE WAS SO WORRIED ABOUT OLLIE AND UPSET AT THEM BUT COULD STILL RECOGNIZE THAT THEY DIDN’T GROW UP IN A STABLE AND LOVING ENVIRONMENT SO REALLY THEY DIDN’T KNOW ANY BETTER??

I realize that things have been happening here for quite a bit, and maybe ive been absent for to long. I need to be here. For my Kids. For Ollie... And for Chip.

OH I THINK ABOUT SWEET MITACHURL COURTING ALL THE TIME LIKE… a huge, huge mitachurl bringing you a bouquet of wildflowers and weeds that he picked out in the field bc he’s observed human couples giving flowers to one another before and wanted to try it out himself with you 🥺 him ‘hiding’ behind a tree (anyone looking can see him, he’s like 3x the width of the tree) and watching human couples out on dates and picnics to get ideas on how humans court one another and what kinds of things you might like. he doesn’t really understand why humans like to hold hands while walking—shouldn’t they be keeping their hands free for combat or something?— but when you smile and kiss his massive palm after he reaches his hand out to hold yours, he thinks he’s starting to get it. really, it’s more like you’re holding onto his finger rather than holding his hand bc he’s just so big, but it’s a sweet gesture nonetheless. he thinks human courting customs are so silly and cute ☺️

also makes me think about him trying to replicate the behaviors he’s observed humans partake in, only to realize that he’s, ah… too big for some of them lol. instead of walking side-by-side with you (he’s noticed that humans really like to just walk together) because he can barely see you when he does that, he’ll pick you up in his hand and hold you while he walks so he can better keep an eye on you. it gives you a nice view of the trees, so you like it a lot— plus you think its cute how your big bf just wants to keep you within his line of sight at all times. he’s more of a gentleman than human men are!
