while i am very scared for my american friends, especially my trans, immigrant, and muslim friends, i can't help but remember that the genocide in gaza is still happening. they are already facing the worst case scenario that we will only get a short glimpse of while trump is in office. and he promises to do worse, hard to fathom as it is.

i never had any faith in the democratic party but with the federal government now entirely run by republicans i hope we can all wake up to the fact that we cannot trust it to help anyone. we have to care for each other ourselves.

ahmed's cousin was martyred in september. they're stuck in al-maghazi camp on the coast of gaza, where there is a tank invasion and intense bombing. he told me he is now struggling to focus on school because every waking moment is spent worrying about his family. franky it's insulting that has to continuously beg online. he has no time for this. we have to do it for him

Do you remember in 2020 Fox declared Trump the winner of Arizona and when everyone woke up, he lost. I know when I went to sleep in 2020 Trump was winning by a pretty wide margin and the next day he lost.

This is probably the only thing I’ll say about the election.

1. It is NOT over yet. I am not saying Kamala will win. I hope she does. I hope as they count absentee and mail in votes things will change. I don’t know.

Get involved locally. Look up diy hrt. Connect with local trans communities, connect with those in your state. Donate to Palestinian funds NOW.

2. I hope we don’t start blaming each other. I do feel frustrated with people who voted 3rd party. Especially in swing states. This isn’t their fault though. When Kamala came in I felt a lot of hope but as things kept moving she started to shift her positions. She moved in a direction that was counter-intuitive to her goals. That is HER fault. Her job was to convince people to vote for her.

Of course I am also angry at those who voted for Trump. I feel heartbroken that his past and present behavior was not enough to deter voters. I think many voted out of fear about the future. I’m ok if others feel differently but personally I feel that lashing out only validates their fears. I don’t think you owe kindness to people who hate you, but I have seen how kindness can change people. This is not an invitation for trump supporters or the like to come onto my page. I don’t think social media is real life and I plan to mostly avoid/block here.

3. My dms are open always! If we have talked before, if we have never talked, if we don’t even follow each other. I hope everyone is ok.

I don't understand what's going on in the world right now... I feel confused, angry at the state of things, disappointed, devastated and sick to my stomach. I cried so hard and blinked a dozen times at the election results to make sure I wasn't having a nightmare. Am I the only one who feels like this, as if it were Groundhog's day and we were still stuck in 2016? I thought that people had learned their lesson and I was fairly certain that January 6 ended Trump's career, but no, his supporters are still crazy in love with him. This is bad news for everyone and everything: Ukraine, the Middle East, minorities, women's rights across the world and the fight against climate change. I'm scared for the future, honestly, I never felt so powerless before. I just don't get it. I traveled to the USA in the past and Americans were the nicest and friendliest people I had ever seen, and it was a pleasure to meet them. How can so many good men and women vote for a convicted felon who aspires to be a dictator? Where's the moral compass they seemed to have? Was it all just an act when they were so open-minded and accepting of me? If so, I'll never set foot in America again because at this point, I'm afraid that its citizens might have dangerous hidden intentions. Uggghh... So this means that, for four more years, I'll keep hearing in the news every insane thing that Trump says or does? I'm tired of him, I can't take it anymore. I was hoping for him to rot in jail or be put in a mental asylum, but instead he'll be in the White House, making decisions, turning the Earth into a large-scale jail and mental asylum. I mean, yes, Trump is a clown, he made me laugh all these years and I'm thankful for that, but 1. The POTUS is there to hold office and use executive power, not entertain (it's not a TV show!) and 2. A joke repeated too many times isn't funny anymore, it becomes boring and predictable. All that's left for me to do is pray because I've lost my faith in humanity. If there's a God up there, I hope He's enjoying the circus because we're nothing more than animals playing tricks on each other.
