Legend of Vijaya Ekadashi:
According to Hindu mythology, Indrasena was the ruler of Mahishmati. When his kingdom faced a severe drought, the monarch sought guidance from sage Medhavi. The sage advised him to fast on Vijaya Ekadashi to overcome the drought and achieve success in all of his endeavors. King Indrasena followed the sage's directions and fasted alongside his subjects.
