Esse filme criou um grande barulho em Cannes. A diretora/roteirista, Coralie Fargeat, ganhou o prêmio de roteiro. Demi Moore tem seu nome ventilado como candidata a ser nomeada no Oscar. Tem na sua base o que tem sido chamado de body-horror, ou terror corporal. Boatos de pessoas virando a cara e passando mal nas sessões. Vamos ver se é tudo isso mesmo.

Mini-review:

Revenge is arguably one of the most impactful films I've ever watched, and I've spent the last few years eagerly waiting for Coralie Fargeat's next feature. And, damn, she went even further with this one. It made my jaw drop almost from the beginning, and by the time it ended I was absolutely speechless. Sure, it kind of hammers its message home, but that lack of subtlety makes it even more powerful. And truly, there's some unforgettable imagery here. Most of the body-horror sequences are the stuff of nightmares, with grotesque visuals and shots that etch themselves into your brain. If it wasn't for the major dose of campy humor that frames it all, some of these scenes would be very hard to watch, and this is coming from an experienced horror fan. Also, both Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley go all in, giving two of the most committed performances I've seen in a while. And big kudos must be given to the incredible make-up team, as well. So yeah, with The Substance, Coralie Fargeat continues to prove herself as a filmmaking maverick. Here's to more genre movies from her.

I've done a lot of thinking tonight and this is what i've figured out. of the 30 announced players, they fit relatively neatly into 4 buckets, aligned with position: point guard, shooting guard [2 sets], forward, forward/center

now, my guess is that teams will be made up by drawing one person from each pot , with some caveats- like you aren't going to put multiple rookies on the same team, you aren't going to super load teams with wnba teammates, all the all wnbas won't be on the same team, you won't have a team with zero all stars

This is how I think it was supposed to be, with 30 spots. because they have added an additional 6, one player will be added to each team, and it gets messier.

there is a lot of speculation that they are only "exceeding their projections" because they are adding one specific player [rookie] by giving her a lot of money and equity.

If you do this, the people in the buckets move around and there is another bucket of guards to choose from. obviously, i don't know who is going to get announced, but i've narrowed it down based on offseason plans.

There are 42 players who were on a roster at the end of the season and have not announced off season playing plans or physical rehab plans

based on this, who do I think will be the last 6? First, I think all of the big, veteran names would be announced in the first 30 if they had said yes. I also read on twitter that apparently there is Another Ace [for a total of 6] but I haven't watched the golden state presser to confirm.

following this information, I think the most likely players are: Caitlin Clark, one of Nyara Sabally or Leonie Fiebich, one of Kiah Stokes or Meg Gustafson, Betnijah Laney-Hamilton, Jordin Canada, and Bridget Carleton.

Film firsts are usually worth checking out, and The Mark of Zorro is a double first: It's the first appearance of the title character on screen, and it's the first of the genre of films for which Douglas Fairbanks remains best-known, the swashbuckler. Since Fairbanks and co-scenarist Eugene Miller adapted Johnston McCulley's 1919 magazine story, "The Curse of Capistrano," the masked hero has been played by Tyrone Power, Guy Williams (in the Disney TV series), Frank Langella, George Hamilton (in a spoof featuring Zorro's gay twin brother), Alain Delon, and (as the aging Zorro and his hand-picked successor) Anthony Hopkins and Antonio Banderas, and appeared in numerous Mexican and European films.
