Ieri sera mi sono seduto sul sofà e m'è venuto questo Orazio #5 che è anche il nome della mia acqua di colonia.
Last night I sat on the couch and this Orazio #5 popped out of my pen. It is also the name of my Eau de Cologne.

Wait, what, Eau de Cologne is the scent of Aziraphale?
That's nice, two of my favourite things coming together, Good Omens and witchcraft. Let me explain. For many American witches, "Florida Water" is popular as an ingredient in their spells or rituals. As some German witches have pointed out to me, "Eau de Cologne" (German: "Echt Kölnisch Wasser", with the number 4711) is an equivalent to Florida Water, because many of the ingredients are the same. And it dates back to the 18th century.
Want to read more about these on Wikipedia? There you go: Florida Water Eau de Cologne
I love the idea that Aziraphale uses such a magical perfume.💖
Edit on October 4, 2023. A bottle of Eau de Cologne arrived today with the mail. 😊
Here are the main ingredients/essential oils of the scent:
Bergamot, Lemon, Orange, Lavender, Rosemary, Neroli, Petitgrain. If you look those up for magical correspondences, that's a treasure trove. 😍

At my drug store, which is over 100 years old, has a little diner in the back, and also sells pies.
The scent of Aziraphale.

Time for a pick-me-up? -- Here's my list of the Top 10 best classic eaux de cologne.
It may be the oldest perfumery genre in existence, but it’s taken me until now to present my list of the Top 10 best eaux de cologne, for reasons which I go into in the video. Better late than never, I suppose. Here’s a link to my rundown of the finest scents which project that unique, unbeatable, life-affirming contrast between the bright sharpness of citrus and the suave sophistication of…

All Good Things Must Come To An End
A huge THANK YOU! to everyone who’s supported retrofragrances.com. Unfortunately, a close relative of mine has been diagnosed with Stage IV cancer. I am the caregiver and will no longer be able to maintain the site. Retrofragrances.com will close permanently on June 28, 2024. Anyone who’s been thinking about downloading “Understanding Perfume: A Beginner’s Guide” should do so now.
EDIT: Several of you have informed me that your purchases aren't completing. Thank you for bringing the problem to my attention. The issue is fixed. Also, I've removed the website branding from the ebook and its store. A few of you advised me to keep the store open for a while as I’m now a full-time carer. Thanks to those of you who’ve suggested it. The website links are disabled, but the store remains active. Here’s the direct store link. *Please be aware that I have a strict no-refund policy because the product is digital and has a very low purchase price.
How To Download
There’s been some confusion about the download process for this ebook. There’s a “suggested price” section on the download page that reads 1.99 USD, but you can change that by typing in a different price. The lowest purchase price is 0.99 USD. Follow the prompts to complete the secure transaction. Lemon Squeezy makes it easy, lol.
Here's the store link for those having problems with the overlay on the website.
Thank You to everyone who’s already purchased, those who will purchase, and all my regular readers. It really feels good to know that something I’ve written has been helpful to others. As for the site, I can try again later when I have some free time. It’s been fun and a learning experience, but I need to spend as much time as possible with my loved one. I hope you all understand.

Unveiling the Magic of Eau de Cologne: The Zestiest Trend in Fragrance!
Welcome, fragrance enthusiasts! Today, we're diving into the world of Eau de Cologne, a scent that's as vibrant as it is timeless.
Picture this: 18th-century Cologne, Germany, where an Italian perfumer named Johann Maria Farina concocted a magical potion. Fast forward to today, and Eau de Cologne is still sprinkling its freshness worldwide.
Think sunshine in a bottle! Eau de Cologne is your burst of zesty joy, loaded with lemon, bergamot, and orange notes. It's the olfactory equivalent of a refreshing sip of lemonade on a hot day.
This fragrance isn't about heavy drama; it's the rockstar of subtlety. Perfect for everyday use, Eau de Cologne gives you that "I woke up like this" confidence, minus the effort.
From brunch dates to business meetings, Eau de Cologne is your wingman. Its light touch won't steal the show but will leave a memorable trace wherever you go. Splash it on, and conquer the day!
The OG Eau de Cologne recipe by Farina is shrouded in mystery, but its impact is crystal clear. This fragrance revolution has spawned countless variations, ensuring there's a Cologne for every nose out there.
Fun Fact Fiesta: Did you know Napoleon Bonaparte was a Cologne enthusiast? He reportedly ordered barrels of the stuff! Imagine him conquering empires, smelling as fresh as a summer breeze.
Today, perfumers are remixing the Cologne game. Florals, woods, and musks join the party, offering a diverse palette for your olfactory pleasure. It's Cologne 2.0, and it's anything but basic.
Eau de Cologne isn't just a fragrance; it's a mood, a vibe, a time-traveling elixir that connects us to centuries past. So, whether you're a classic connoisseur or a modern trendsetter, let the zest of Eau de Cologne elevate your scent game to legendary status! Cheers to freshness, fun, and fragrant adventures! 🍋✨
