Can We Eat Fruits and Nuts Together?
Fruits and nuts are two of the most delicious food groups on the planet. They’re both easy to pack for lunch, they travel well, and they both have a long shelf life. But how do you know if it’s okay to eat them together? Can you mix pecans with apples or pistachios with grapes? The short answer is yes: Fruits and nuts can go well together when eaten in moderation. In this article, we’ll explore why eating fruits and nuts together is beneficial as well as some things that might make it a bad idea — including some things that many people don’t consider at all!
Expanding on the acclaim of California’s raisins, their global reputation is bolstered by the state’s vast and efficient production capabilities. California is the largest producer of raisins in the world, contributing significantly to the global supply. This large-scale production doesn’t compromise quality; instead, it ensures a steady availability of premium raisins year-round.
Another factor that contributes to the high quality of these raisins is the meticulous harvesting process. The grapes are allowed to ripen fully on the vine, ensuring maximum natural sugar content before they are handpicked and laid out on paper trays to sun-dry. This natural drying process, which harnesses the California sun, preserves the fruit’s natural sugars, enhancing its sweet flavor and ensuring a delicate texture.
Furthermore, California raisins are subject to rigorous food safety standards and are often processed without the addition of preservatives or sweeteners, making them a healthy choice for consumers. The industry also embraces sustainable farming practices, which contribute to the overall quality and appeal of the product.
The versatility of California raisins is another aspect of their acclaim. They are a staple in various cuisines, used in everything from traditional baked goods and confectioneries to savory dishes and health-focused recipes. Their natural sweetness, nutritional value, and culinary flexibility make them a preferred choice for chefs and home cooks alike.
In conclusion, the best quality of raisins in the world is often considered to be from California, thanks to the region’s ideal growing conditions, advanced processing techniques, commitment to quality and safety, sustainable practices, and the versatile appeal of the end product. These factors combine to make California raisins a premium product in the global market.
There are many benefits to eating fruits and nuts together.
First, let’s talk about the benefits of eating fruits and nuts together. Both fruits and nuts are rich in nutrients. For example, both contain antioxidants that help fight free radicals that can damage your body cells. They also have similar amounts of fiber, which helps keep you full longer.
So what are some other advantages? Well, research shows that people who eat more fruits and vegetables have a lower risk for heart disease than those who don’t eat many fruits or vegetables at all (1). Additionally, eating more whole grains may help lower blood pressure (2). Finally, if you’re trying to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight by following a plant-based diet (more on this below), then there are plenty of reasons why adding nuts into your daily routine could be beneficial!
Now that you know the benefits of eating nuts and fruits together, let’s talk about the various ways to enjoy them. You can eat them both raw or cooked, as well as add them to other foods such as smoothies or salads. Here are several recipes that incorporate these two superfoods:
Nuts and Fruit Salad: This is an easy dish to make that takes very little time. Just combine equal parts of nuts, dried fruit and yogurt (try plain Greek yogurt or coconut yogurt), then top with your favorite seasonal fruits. The best part about this recipe is that it can be made year-round since most fruits are available year-round!
Nuts and Fruit Trail Mix: This is another easy recipe that requires very little time and effort. Just combine nuts, dried fruit and dark chocolate chips (or whatever your favorite type of chocolate is). You can also add in other ingredients such as peanut butter, granola or coconut flakes for an extra crunchy texture.
Consuming fruits and nuts together can reduce the risk of heart disease.
A diet rich in fruits and nuts can reduce your risk of heart disease.
Fruits, like grapes and apples, are rich in antioxidants that can help prevent damage to cells. Nuts, like almonds and cashews, are also rich in antioxidants; they also contain monounsaturated fats (MUFAs) which have been shown to lower blood cholesterol levels. In addition to these benefits fruits and nuts both contain potassium which helps maintain healthy bones while providing a source of fiber that helps keep you feeling full longer so you’re less likely to overeat later on
Fruits and nuts are both low in calories and high in fiber, making them perfect for weight loss. They also contain nutrients like potassium and magnesium that help keep you full longer so you’re less likely to overeat later on. The Mediterranean diet is also rich in fish, which contains omega-3 fatty acids that are good for your heart. In addition to being high in protein and low in sugar, nuts are high in fiber and contain magnesium which helps lower blood pressure.
Fruits and nuts are both rich in monosaturated fats, which can help lower blood cholesterol levels.
Monosaturated fats are an important part of a healthy diet. They can help lower cholesterol levels, which can reduce your risk of heart disease.
Monosaturated fats are found in many foods, including nuts and avocados (both fruits), fish, olive oil and other vegetable oils.
Polyunsaturated fats also can be beneficial. They’re found in many plant-based oils, such as safflower, corn and soybean oil.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture recommends eating a diet that’s high in fiber, fruits, vegetables and low-fat or fat-free dairy products. This type of diet may help reduce your risk of heart disease and other chronic conditions.
But what about fats? Can you eat too many of them? And how do you know which fats are healthy and which aren’t? Here’s what you need to know about fat in your diet.

Daily reminder that fruit and veggies don't have to be "healthy" to be nutritious. Drink that fruit juice from concentrate. Eat that jam and nut butter. Use fruit and vegetables out of a can. Eat a dessert with fruit in it. Snack on salted nuts (in moderation) or dried fruit. Literally any way you can get fruit and vegetables into your body is better than none at all.
If fresh fruit and veg aren't available to you, take too much energy to eat or prepare, or if you just can't bring yourself to eat them, whatever way you can eat them is good enough.
#cripplepunk#cripple punk#disability#actually disabled#neurodiversity#Personally I buy two big bottles of different mixed fruit smoothie every week because I know I have the energy to drink them#And I made a trail mix of my favourite fruit and nuts to take my meds with in the evenings#I also keep a pack of those microwave steam in the bag vegetables in the freezer for a side with certain meals#I really like the broccoli carrot and sweetcorn one#And they're chopped up small enough to be easy and low energy to eat with no cutting up required

What I've learned from a couple weeks of engagement is that I'm going to be pretty chill and flexible regarding like 98% of wedding stuff however I am already conducting an exhaustive survey of every bakery in our metro area because that is the only way to acquire a cake that lives up to my standards.
#i used to bake cakes for all my friends' weddings before i got sick i have Opinions about this#but it's very hard to find places that are good at both baking and decorating#a lot of the places that seem trustworthy flavor-wise only do very minimalist decorating#while a lot of the places with fun-looking cakes are more lackluster in terms of quality#also i like more unique flavors but a lot of them involve fruit (which nate doesn't like)#alcohol (which neither of us like)#or nuts (which we can't have for guest allergy reasons)#ALSO 'wedding-size' cake-cutting is a SHAM#that is not a dessert that is a tiny sliver such as you might use to prepare a microscope slide#which in many cases does not matter because the cake is not. good. so nobody really wants to eat it anyway#but ours IS going to be good so people will be getting meaningful dessert-sized servings Or Else

For real tho health freaks who scream about how sugar and salt will kill us all and try to push for restrictions on things like candy and chips for SNAP recipients or politicians who try from time to time to replace food stamps all together and give out Government Approved Staples like bread and peanut butter and Government Cheese are gonna kill a whole lotta sick and disabled people like
Diabetics
POTS sufferers
Hypotensives
People with peanut allergies
People with celiac disease or wheat allergies
The lactose intolerant
People who can't eat solid food
People who are undernourished for any reason and need all the calories they can pack on
So-called "picky eaters" who can't tolerate certain tastes and textures without getting violently ill
A myriad of other human conditions that cannot be neatly tallied into categories because the human body and human experience is vast and infinitely variable
But I don't think ableds really care about us and our health like they like to claim so they can harass us about it, do you?
#tag yourself I'm five out of ten#health food is gonna kill me one day i swear to God#vasovagal syncope/POTS was actually a fun disease to have since the treatment is honestly junk food#to get my sugar and sodium levels up quickly so i don't pass out#but then the United States government in their infinite compassion slashed my food stamps in half#and now i can't afford 'luxeries' like enough chips and candy i need to not faint and concuss myself. again#add the celiac and to a lesser extent the lactose intolerancy and now two fruit allergies...#and I'm paying three times the amount for like fifteen food items and that is accounting for the food inflation even ableds are facing#whatever food shortages ableds are going thru right now i swear to you it's much much worse if you're sick/disabled#stop policing what food people buy with the money their given i don't care if it's a paycheck or welfare#SOMETIMES I'll get a pitiful and defensive 'well how was i supposed to know?!' when i confront people bugging me about this#you don't know so shut your trap about it in the first place#most people just ignore the reason and accuse me of making up excuses to eat 'unhealthy' foods tho#health nut#ableism#systemic ableism#food#Salt blessed Salt

I know we make fun of almond moms a lot, but honestly, a handful of almonds IS a god-tier snack. Catch me sitting here crunching away and feeling like a woodland scout grabbing a hasty bite of foraged fare while I roam the enchanted forest in search of the necromancer’s keep.
#the woodland scout especially enjoys wasabi soy or Thai chili spiced almonds#my favorite snacks are ones that make me feel like I’m three days out on the road to Waterdeep and huddled under an outcrop in the rain#dried fruits nuts jerkies FUCK YEAH#I think the difference is that I choose to eat almonds instead of being forced to

It does make me a little nervous eating squirrel because there’s all these articles about people getting Creutzfeldt-Jakob’s disease from eating squirrel brains, but then scientific articles and the cjd.org say that squirrels have never been proven to have prions. Also, no desire to eat brains.
#spelling?#anyways anyone got any recipes?#country squirrels eating nuts and fruit and baby birds#not city slickin’ squirrels

I'm really curious how you make your oatmeal (mostly if you add anything to it)!! I'm always looking for new ways to eat it
I just mix dry oats with milk, sugar and bitter cocoa powder until its got the consistency of Slop and then whack it in the microwave for 3 minutes or so! It comes together into like a soft chewy granola bar type thing? Except in a bowl lol - its a really chocolatey and filling breakfast ;] (not healthy. Not the intended way to eat oats. BUT!!! back when all i did was work 10hr shifts of manual labour i found it a rly good way to get energy for the morning. And ok its tasty sue me sksjslsk)
I dont tend to mix anything else in, cos microwaved fruits and nuts arent very nice, but i do sometimes have grapes or strawberries/blackberries (or any kind of berries really) on the side with it~~
#my old coworker was telling me about something called overnight oats where you mix it with yoghurt and put it in the fridge overnight?#im still yet to try it#and my mum mixes in loads of seeds/nuts and fruits + yoghurt with her oats#how do you eat them 👀👀#finn.txt#ask#treasured mutual#xiuminscheeks
