It's so fuckin cool to see people speaking so many different languages in the QSMP tag, even ones that aren't spoken on the server, like Ukrainian and Arabic.
No se mucho español pero lo intentaré lo mejor que pueda para hoy. No será bueno
#qsmp#if i can be honest I've always been nervous to try speaking a new language because I don't want to get things wrong#especially on the internet#there are so many people who can correct you on the internet#I don't want to embarrass myself in front of the cool native speakers 🥺#pero#hoy seré perdonado#por mi muy mal español

I have the slight and terrible feeling that I'm going to really regret writing this. But I can't focus on the things I need to do, so here we go
Browsing the Amethio tag, I discovered that someone took the link to my poll about Friede x Amethio and sent an ask to an account saying "this fandon has shit taste". This is because 65.8% of the votes (111 votes, just for the record, which shouldn't be, like, even 1% of the Horizontes fandon) had marked the option "Wtf that shit's illegal"
I don't want to talk about this ship anymore, but there are people out there who ship it, so, HERE WE GO I GUESS
(Warning: Some really angry text is below the line)
For me, and this is my opinion, the discussion of why Friede x Amethio is a horrible ship and deserves its own little corner of hell is no longer about age. It doesn't matter if Amethio is of age and legally an adult or not. This doesn't change the following facts that every episode Ametio has appeared in so far keeps throwing in our faces:
1- Amethio is, EMOTIONALLY, much more immature than Friede. Friede provokes Amethio, and he falls. When Amethio tried to instigate Friede in episode 25, Friede literally responded "I'm not a kid anymore to fall for that kind of provocation". This is the script throwing in your face how far from emotional maturity the two are
2 - Friede doesn't treat Amethio with respect. He continues making fun of him, annoying him and irritating him. Whether it's on purpose or not is beside the point: if it is, it's because Friede is really an asshole, and if it's not, it's because Friede can't realize that his actions are affecting someone else in an extremely negative way (which also It's a horrible option!!!)
I wanted to be calmer in my first post on the subject, but I'm stressed today and I don't need someone calling the fandon "dummies" because they don't agree with the crap ship you like. People have tastes. People have their own ideas. People have their own interpretations of media. There are people who see the things I just mentioned and see "enemies to lovers", when it is an extremely toxic and unbalanced relationship. EVEN IF BOTH OF THEM WERE ADULTS IT WOULD STILL BE TOXIC AND UNBALANCED. I want Amethio to become an RVT, but first Friede will have to work hard to redeem himself for all the stress he put Amethio through and the way he treated him.
And as for Amethio x Liko, I prefer to think of them as friends/sibling. The two are very similar, and with each passing day a new parallel between them appears. They're basically a walking "two sides of the same coin", and I really want to see how their dynamic continues (especially after ep 46)
Then that's it. I hate Friede x Amethio. I don't care about Liko x Amethio. I don't care if you think Amethio is of age, if he's 30 years old or if he's someone's reincarnation. His relationship with Friede is toxic, unbalanced, and Amethio needs distance from that idiot with aviator glasses, not a romantic relationship with him.
Now I'm going to do my homework
And please, don't reblog this post or comment on this post to say that I'm wrong and that Friede x Amethio is good. I am a 16 year old girl. If someone treated me the way Friede treats Amethio, I would react the same way he did. Maybe a little worse. And I definitely wouldn't want people shipping me with that person.
I hope this is the last post I make on this subject. From now on, let's talk about how the sky is blue or how sperm whales are not whales but dolphins
#if I sounded extremely angry#it's because i am#I miss Amethio so much#but I can't even look at his tag in peace#I hate people who call others idiots because they don't share an opinion#and try to shove their opinions down other people's throats as if they were the beings who possess all the knowledge in the universe#I'm very mad right now#Everyone has their own opinion and you have no right to call someone an idiot for disagreeing with yours#I just want my favorite emo to get the redemption arc he so deserves and kick Spinel's ass in battle#amethio#pokemon horizons#professor friede#amethio pokemon#pokemon friede#friede#liko pokemon#liko#writing this was a huge outburst#people have to learn to respect each other#especially on the internet

I hope some day that more people will understand that just because the internet allows for a wider array of world-wide communication and the ability to hide behind a username, doesn't mean you shouldn't still be a polite and considerate person.
Think of it this way: if you overheard a complete stranger standing in a public park, talking with their friends about their interests, would you go up to them and start nitpicking their opinion just because they're in a "public" space? Would you inject yourself, uninvited, into their conversation so that you could disagree with them? I hope not, because that would be incredibly rude.
"But people online aren't always talking directly to friends, sometimes they're just shouting into the public void"
Okay, then imagine if you saw someone standing in a public park with a sign that said "I love cats". Would you take this as an invitation to go and tell them why you hate cats? Would you start telling them why you think dogs are better pets and that they shouldn't be expressing their love for cats in front of everyone? No. Because someone expressing their opinion in a public space is not an invitation to start a debate with them.
Do you understand? Expressing an opinion is not the same as inviting debate or critique.
You can have a different opinion! There is nothing stopping you from going to the same public park and having your own "I hate cats" sign. You can even hold a club meeting or a public debate somewhere to find other people who want to discuss why you hate cats, and how dogs are better. The issue isn't about anyone's opinion being the "right" one, which is I think where some people get lost. It's about understanding when to share your opinions and when to stay in your own lane.
A good rule of thumb is to ask yourself: is this person expressing an opinion that is directly causing harm or inciting others to do so? No? Then stay in your own lane.
Ask yourself: Did this stranger ask for other people's opinions, or are they just expressing theirs? If it's the latter, stay in your own lane.
On the other hand, if you were standing with friends in a public park and were talking about a shared interest, would you be mad about a stranger approaching to tell you how much they also love said interest? No, because it's fun to share things you enjoy with people and thats how you meet new friends. But if that stranger approached you to tell you they hated the thing you're discussing, it would be considered very bad social behavior. There is no reason why the internet, which is also a shared public space, should be treated any different for socializing.
Also think about the difference in someone saying "I don't like this character" versus someone saying "this character is bad". The first is stating an opinion (whether it's "right" or "wrong" isn't the point), the second is taking an opinion and stating it as though it were a fact (something that I have often encountered in less pleasant fandom spaces).
So yeah, not to sound like some early 2000's internet etiquette campaign, but maybe think before you type and remember that the internet is full of actual humans and you should still be polite and considerate in how you interact with other members of society.

HAPPY TRANS VISIBILITY DAY!!
No, seriously- please, don’t be discouraged.
It’s not just trans people coming out of the woodwork today… it’s also transphobes. And unfortunately, their hatred is especially strong today, in light of a horrible tragedy that happened in Nashville, TN this week.
I won’t explain the tragedy, as it’s all over the news and hearing about it would just add to people’s stress and distress, which we all already get enough of on the internet nowadays.
And it IS tragic. It IS horrible, and it’s something that keeps happening all over the United States. But it has nothing to do with trans people.
Or it SHOULDN’T be regarded as having anything to do with trans people, anyway- but people are taking it as evidence of how horrible trans people are, because all they have is this one person who’s an example of what a trans person is like.
But we’re not like that.
People are just suffering from confirmation bias, fear, and paranoia. Honestly, they probably don’t even hate us, they just hate their perceived version of us.
So engaging with them in “discussion” about it or arguing with them or even just calling them out on it is just going to make things worse, and won’t solve any problems, and DEFINITELY won’t change their minds. (Sorry, y’all… I genuinely really wish it could, but it won’t. Changing their minds isn’t a one-person job. /lh)
So to all the trans people, gender nonconforming people, and those who identify otherwise, out there, please remember…
✨Block and report, mates.✨
Block and report.
Happy trans day. 🏳️⚧️

i'm begging you guys to start pirating shit from streaming platforms. there are so many websites where you can stream that shit for free, here's a quick HOW TO:
1) Search for: watch TITLE OF WORK free online
2) Scroll to the bottom of results. Click any of the "Complaint" links
3) You will be taken to a long list of links that were removed for copyright infringement. Use the 'find' function to search for the name of the show/movie you were originally searching for. You will get something like this (specifics removed because if you love an illegal streaming site you don't post its url on social media)
4) each of these links is to a website where you can stream shit for free. go to the individual websites and search for your show/movie. you might have to copy-paste a few before you find exactly what you're looking, but the whole process only takes a minute. the speed/quality is usually the same as on netflix/whatever, and they even have subtitles! (make sure to use an adblocker though, these sites are funded by annoying popups)
In conclusion, if you do this often enough you will start recognizing the most dependable websites, and you can just bookmark those instead. (note: this is completely separate from torrenting, which is also a beautiful thing but requires different software and a vpn)
you can also download the media in question (look for a "download" button built into the video window, or use a browser extension such as Video DownloadHelper.)
#for adblocking--ublock origin is my favorite but adblocker plus is also popular#also i once again highly recommend using firefox especially on mobile#to enable adblock on firefox mobile just click 3 dot menu > addons > addon manager > enable uBlockOrigin#that's for android i assume it's similar for iOS#update it is NOT similar for iOS bc Apple hates you. i'll write another post later#anyway. PLEASE USE AN ADBLOCK ALL THE TIME (except for specific websites you want to support)#your internet browsing experience will be so enormously improved#also on firefox if you want to get past a paywall click the 'Toggle reader view' button as soon as the page loads#(it's on the right of the taskbar. a little rectangle with horizontal lines)#works for most news sites by showing you the webpage text that is hidden under the 'you've run out of free articles' popup#doesn't work for everything but it's worth a shot

This whole thing about Americanisation is really important I’m glad some people here have explained it so well
DO NOT LET SOCIAL MEDIA TURN YOU INTO AN AMERICAN
#I’m lucky enough to come from cultures that are still quite prominent#I recognise that as a massive privilege#and it saddens me that even despite this I see Americanisation in my surroundings every hour of every day#especially on the internet#America = default#I genuinely hated Americans for a while because of that but obviously now I recognise it’s not my place to do so#it’s the Americanisation that pisses me off#not the Americans#I remember people would relentlessly mock the French after finding out there was rule about having to show a certain amount of French media#in radiostations and such#people would come up to me and ask about and make fun of it#‘the French are so arrogant/self-obsessed’#‘they can’t allow other cultures into their mainstream’#fun fact. the amount of French music that legally has to be played on radio stations in France is 20%#20%#because whenever you tune in to French radio it’s English (American) songs over and over again#the minimum is 20% because if it wasn’t it would be less#AUGH#anyways#most big French artists end up having at least some English in their music#and as I said before this is an example of one of the countries which has had its culture Americanised or suppressed the LEASR#LEAST*#When kids ask why everyone doesn’t speak the same language the answer is always ‘to keep our cultures intact’ or because we’d have to force#it onto people#so I find it terrifying that nowadays everyone from every country is expected to speak English at least enough to hold a conversation with#tourists#<- end rant#lesbianslovenamari

I've come to the point where referring to anyone by pronouns that they didn't specifically tell me they use feels weird to me. Like I'll meet someone who fully presents as Cis, shows no indication of being queer or trans and I'm 90% sure is transphobic but. They didn't tell me what their pronouns are. And I immediately want to they/them but that's weird because they're really probably not trans and I do live in a very transphobic area so doing so could be borderline dangerous but. Ajhdk. What if. I didn't ask though.
#I do usually stop myself but theres always a twinge in my head that says “use they/them. just to be sure. just incase”#and to be fair thats a good thing 80% of the time when im interacting with strangers#especially on the internet#but theres also the times when its really not

friendships/relationships
i have a tendency to call people "dear," "love," "sweetheart," "luv," or something of the variant if we're close
people end up incredibly attached to me bc of it, like attached to the point of legitimately carving my name into their skin
this is not healthy
this is not right
it is unfair to put these expectations on me
i am in a very horrible state right now, and i have had to deal with a lot
i cannot!! handle!! people just randomly dumping vents into my message box or spamming me a bunch
please, stop
my heart hurts
#relationships#friendships#parasocial relationships#tagged as parasocial#because when i was younger#i had a very active wattpad#and people would often develop STRONG parasocial relationships with me#i was like 12-13#i cannot take this level of responsibility#ESPECIALLY on the internet#i am sorry if i have hurt you#but i need to take care of myself

Ahahaha I love loopholes and strategy
#I could definitely keep doing this#and I’m doing it intelligently; not impulsively#I have a formula and I’m sticking to it#It takes awhile; but I’ve already redeemed myself 3/4 of the way since The Incident#we do not speak of The Incident#we do not repeat The Incident#that was the equivalent of selling my soul to the devil#hated every second of it#but hey at least I can write about it now without sounding haughty and like I’m looking down on it#Pro Tip: Some things can be done with very little risk if you have a lot of patience and self-control#especially on the internet#but you have to read the situation to determine if there even is a “slow way“#and if not it’s in your best interest to leave#because algorithms cannot be trusted

This might seem like an "old man yells at cloud" situation, but it's just wild growing up and being told how dangerous distracted driving is - how, at highway speeds, you can traverse the length of a football field (100 yards, 91 meters) in a matter of seconds - how one split second sending a text while driving could result in a potential fatal crash, and then getting on the road as a driver and being surrounded by billboards. Their entire purpose is to catch one's attention, so they're lining major roads, which tend to be highways. How is it that you're told how important it is to never be distracted while driving, but still being advertised to?
At best, this type of advertising is an eyesore to pedestrians and motorists and a general waste of electricity to light it, and at worst, it is an active danger considering they are there to advertise and therefore, must catch people's attention.
I'm not even against advertising in theory, but this particular mode bothers me so much and I hate how pervasive it is - especially in large cities or highways.
#politics#i don't know much about são paulo banning marketing billboards but on paper i want that here in the USA#as a motorist it at best just makes me more anxious driving in those larger cities because i want to FOCUS ON THE ROAD#and passing 5000 billboards per mile isn't helping actually!#i've gotten good at filtering that out of my FOV but it's still fucking exhausting lol#i especially hate those modern electric billboards. despise them actually#i am aware that advertising is a critical aspect to business management in some cases...#...but it shouldn't risk the safety of the populous for you to advertise to them and i see things like billboards as risking safety...#...i feel similarly about online advertising in that so much of it risks internet user's safety...#...such as flashing ads online which risk triggering epileptic seizures in light/photo-sensitive folks#distracted driving (texting): NO >:( || distracted driving (being advertised to): YAYYYY :D#i've been driving on my own for a few years now and i've been thinking about this for ENTIRELY too long
