✨ DREAMLIGHT VALLEY - storybook vale ✨
exploring the library of lore 📖
0 notes
Note
While playing Disney Dreamlight Valley, I started having a fantasy about my character (MC) and The Beast from “Beauty and the Beast”. MC has a crush on Beast but knows he would never hurt Belle and you don’t want to either, but MC can’t deny the lust she feels for the cursed prince. But one day, MC finds a spell in Merlin’s library that enchants a room where after someone other than the caster leaves the room their memory is wiped of any memory of what happened in that room. With a plan in mind, MC excitedly rushes home to prepare. A few hours later, MC invites Beast over under the guise of helping care for some flowers.
There MC leads Beast her bedroom and starts seducing him by stripping in front of him. Beast tries to resist, but gives in once MC is on her knees in front of him trying to deep throat his massive wolf-like cock.
Soon enough they’re both on the floor in front of a roaring fireplace, Beast on his back and his claws digging into MC’s hips while she rides him desperately. As MC is about to cum, Beast flips them over so now MC is in a mating press. Beast gives three powerful thrusts before shoving his knot inside MC, the force of it all not only makes her cum but squirts for the first time ever. Beast falls asleep after and that give you plenty of time to clean up and leave the room.
Some hours later; Beast exits the room, and sure enough, has no memory of the hours prior. When he questions what happened, MC tells him that he was tired and she let him nap in one of the rooms. Beast believes it and leaves to go back home to Belle. As they say their goodbyes MC can’t help the wicked little grin that forms on her face. Proud that she got away with having her cake and eating it too 😈

cozy games for spooky people
i'm a tried and true cozy gamer and i also love halloween, and upon dicussing with a friend i figured i'd make a little list of cozy games i've played that have a good vibe for spooky season. disclaimer that i am a sucker who likes most games so proceed with caution and watch gameplay reviews. what these games all have in common is that they are spooky and i like them :)
cozy grove - a real time game a la acnh or dreamlight valley that has you fulfilling the post-death wishes of your neighbors (spirits) that appear to you as bears.
wytchwood - this is essentially a fetch quest game with some crafting mechanics, but the art style is like out of a storybook and it kind of feels like if over the garden wall came to life. an interesting story at the heart of it too!
little witch in the woods - what it says on the tin: you're a witch, you're in the woods. farming sim elements but you're the wizard in the tower
potion permit - i'll admit i haven't actually played this game yet but it's been in my library forever because of this aspect of the story: you're an alchemist and the townspeople HATE you because of what previous alchemists have done to their town.
spiritfarer - technically this one's not as spooky but this is my favorite game of all time so on here it goes. a heartwrenching, beautiful, cathartic story where you play as stella, who takes over for charon, ferrying souls into the afterlife. also this soundtrack is simply incredible
the cosmic wheel sisterhood - this is more of a visual novel but it's great. you play as fortuna, a witch 200 years into a 1000 year exile, who makes a deal with a behemoth to end it early. you dictate your own future as well as that of your coven with EVERY single choice you make
graveyard keeper - i also haven't actually played this one but it's in my library and it comes recommended! management sim but you're managing a graveyard, enough said
wylde flowers - one of the most unique farming sims i have ever played. you move back to manage your aging grandmother's farm....except surprise! you're also a witch, and you have to learn magic and fix whatever's going on in the island as well as manage your farm

Beauty and the Beast Week 2024, Day 3: Lavender Master List
Fic: Ink and Moonlight (Beast/Belle, T) by @gravityglitch-blog
This would take place in the animated movie's timeline, between the "Human Again" sequence and the famous waltz. Belle and Beast spend some peaceful moments in the library, while the castle sleeps.
Fic: Swimming and soothing (Beast/Belle, T) by @firawren
Summer is Belle’s favorite season, and today is the perfect summer day for a swim in the forest pond with her beloved Beast. Usually summer means heat and play and laughter and excitement, but sometimes it means tranquility and relaxation, like what they have together today, letting all her cares float away across the cool surface of the water with the sun warming her upturned face while Beast contentedly rests on the bank and watches his beautiful mate.
Fic: If only you'll keep me - chapter 3 (Adam/Belle, M) (cw sex) by @annaofthenorthernlights
A short stop by the river gives Belle and Adam some lucious time before they will meet his parents.
Fic and moodboard: Golden Afternoon (Belle/Sulley, G) by @twisting-echo
Belle and Sulley enjoy a warm summer afternoon in Dreamlight Valley.
Fic: Beast/Belle library sex (cw sex, dubcon) by @rs-hawk
Art: Sleep - Prince Adam and the Enchantress by @zoeloveconvers99
Art: Belle and OC Lessien by @vulpixfairy1985
Art: Summer - Belle reading by @beastylittlething
Art: Belle and Garderobe by @fizzy-dizz
Art: Relaxation/bath - genderbent Adam by @elwynnie101
Art: Read your books, everyone! by @cheetospuff
We caught a couple works that forgot to tag @beauty-beast-week, but if we missed yours in this day 3 list, shoot us a DM with the link and we'll add it to the list as well as reblog it.

I'm going back to some of my fandom nonsense for a bit.
Health wasn't great during October, so I didn't get to draw much or participate in all the art challenges I wanted. I did indulge in some gaming, though.
Halloween was nice in Dreamlight Valley.
I got to give out candy to my villagers and run around in my Sally patchwork dress all day. Took a selfie with the Pumpkin King himself, with a special guest appearance by Eve.
"The Nightmare Before Christmas" has sort of become a new tradition for me around this time of year. (The movie kinda freaked me out when I was little, but I like it now.)
I really am looking forward to Sally being added to the game. I like her character, and it will be fun to have her as a neighbor.
I'm not sure if it's different in every game, but in mine, I often see the couples roaming around together (Anna and Kristoff, Belle and Beast, Wall-E and Eve.) Jack always walks around the outskirts of the Valley alone, even after achieving maximum friendship.
It makes me a little sad. Hopefully Sally's arrival will change that.
I remembered that a sort-of sequel book had been published recently. Was about to check it out from my public library, only to find I already owned it on my Kindle. Apparently I'd pre-ordered it and straight-up forgotten it😕
The book picks up a year after the ending of the movie, starting with Jack and Sally's wedding and continuing from there. I spent most of Halloween night reading it.
I enjoyed it as a simple, cozy read. It's definitely aimed at a younger audience, which is absolutely okay. My only real criticisms are that some things are repeated a lot (you will be reminded many times that Sally is a rag doll with dead leaves for stuffing), and I wanted more cute moments between her and Jack.
For plot reasons I won't spoil, Jack spends a good portion of the book asleep.
All that said, it was still an enjoyable story, though it played with the lore of the movie somewhat. I'd read it again.
Carried by a feeling of nostalgia, I also decided to re-visit my Animal Crossing island.
I didn't think it had been that long😨
Apart from some overgrown plants, my island wasn't in as bad shape as I'd feared. It was good to run around the cliffs and beaches again, with the calming music in the background.
I know this sounds weird, but it felt like going home. And I missed my little animal friends.
Just me sharing a snapshot of my recent days

PERSONALITY
An old soul with a sunshiny personality is Ava in a nutshell. She's an introvert who would much rather spend a Friday night at home with her cats and a good book, rather than heading into the nightlife of bars and clubs.
BIOGRAPHY
As the oldest of three children, Ava began feeling the responsibilities that came along with being a member of one of the founding families early on in life. With her family being responsible for the first school within Windsor Bay, her parents Châu ( father ) and Liên ( mother ) made sure she took her education seriously from a very early age. Around the age of six, Ava could usually be found with her nose in a book. Her parents began taking her to the local library and she quickly felt like she was at home amongst the thousands of books. She loved partaking in the weekly story times and making friends who were into the same book series as her. By the time she was a teenager, Ava put in long, hard hours of volunteer work at the library. Not only was it an excuse to log some community service hours for her college applications, but a reason to spend more time within the building that had come to feel like home to her. It wasn't a hard decision to take her love of the library and turn it into her job as she became an adult. After graduating high school, Ava packed her bags and moved across the country to attend college in Syracuse, New York. The university there was one of the best in the country when it came to library science. While she was there, Ava quickly adjusted to life away from Windsor Bay, though she still felt homesick whenever she'd video chat with her parents or siblings and they caught her up on all of the latest Windsor bay gossip. As soon as she earned her degree, Ava made the move right back to Windsor Bay and applied for the open position of Youth Librarian. It wasn't a hard role to land considering everyone within the library system had watched Ava grow up and knew she would be the perfect fit for the position. She also wasn't going to complain about using her family name and their legacy to get ahead when it counted.
HEADCANONS
It's no secret that she loves to read. But Ava is the kind of person that always has to be reading multiple books at a time. She'll be in the middle of a romance, then start a thriller, while listening to a completely different book on audio. She is a fast reader, so a lot of times she will finish a book within just a day or two. She's a hopeless romantic who eats up a cute and spicy romance book. She is always willing to give out book recs to anyone that asks.
She has three cats named Ghost, Raven, and Milo. Ghost and raven are females, while Milo is the only male.
Within the past couple of years, she's picked up crocheting as a hobby. With a lot of practice, she's gotten better at it and usually always has a few projects within the works.
Even though she may not do it as often as she wishes, Ava loves to bake. Her specialty is peanut butter fudge brownies.
She loves playing cozy video games. Especially Sims, Animal Crossing, Dreamlight Valley, and anything of that sort. She does have a Twitch channel and occasionally goes live.
Ava runs a book club that meets once a month at the library to discuss the current book they're reading.
Ava has never really been in a long term/serious relationship. As a teenager she always put her school work first, which left little to no time for dating. In college she had a few short lived relationships, but nothing ever stuck for very long. Even though she doesn't always put herself out there when it comes to dating, she believes her prince charming is out there somewhere and will show up when she least expects it.

I saw a post lamenting that Disney isn't marketing the game as well as it could be. I totally agree. However, I also think the game is also alienating for a larger western audience by the nature of its own design.
It's a visual novel gatcha. Those tend to be less popular in the west. If the game was more like Genshin or Dreamlight Valley, or, hell, just a straight up animated series, then it would be able to attract western fans easier than a visual novel with very little game play mechanics besides a rock paper scissors style combat system used on occasion.
It's very otome-like. A lot people automatically think that TWST is an otome, when it really isn't. I don't really blame them. The fact that it's an all boys school sounds like something from an otome game. Some people in the west are turned off or dismiss it based on this assumption. (I still stand by the fact that Night Raven should've been co-ed. It would add more gender diversity to the cast, and some of the characters being girls like Deuce would add more depth to them than if they were guys. Hell, I don't get why the game has never added a sister school by now, since they would be like the RSA characters and show up in mainly events or the odd cameo.)
The game has no English dub unlike Genshin and other similar titles. While sub only people hate to admit this to themselves, the sad truth is that most people prefer dubs. They are more accessible and easier to watch, especially with neurodivergent people, visually impaired people and those with English as a second language.
It genuinely seems like Disney has no idea how to market anime. It's not just TWST they are pulling this with. They have the rights to the whole fucking Kodansha library, which includes ip like Gundam, Cardcaptor Sakura and AOT, and aren't doing anything with it. They could make a bucket load of money from AOT ip alone!
Like I said, I agree with the sentiment. But at the same time, it has an uphill battle getting popular with western audiences outside of Disney's meddling just due to its own nature.

i have not been able to sleep at all tonight, but i have been reading "as old as time", the BATB retelling in the twisted tale book series. the premise of it is "what if belle's mother cursed the beast?" and while i have some nitpicks about it, i find the idea of the enchantress--named rosalind in the book--being belle's mother to be a pretty fascinating AU so i'm enjoying it overall! it does a lot of fun things with her and maurice's characters especially and i'm pretty excited to finish it and see what happens to rosalind in the end.
however i'm also kind of laughing at the fact that for this entire book, belle refers to the beast as just "beast", as if it were his name, and only 300 pages in does he say he used to have a name but it doesn't matter what it is anymore because he'll never be that person again. it's making me imagine 11 year old adam who just got cursed insist that his servants call him beast from now on and i don't know why i find this so funny. it happens in dreamlight valley too where in all of the dialogue you're forced to call him beast because technically, adam isn't his canon name or at least, disney refuses to acknowledge it as such. this poor man is one of the main protagonists of one of the most beloved films of all time and he's doomed to just never have a name, not even in spin-off/tie-in material, i literally own a children's book depicting belle and adam's wedding and he exclusively gets called "the prince" to avoid naming him 😭
anyway, my current biggest nitpick about the twisted tale book is that the story is so heavily focused on other things related to belle's mother and the curse that it's barely a romance and even the book's equivalent of the library scene barely counts as romantic!! and it's got me missing one of my favorite fictional couples ever so i think i'm going to go rewatch beauty and the beast (1991) 💙

rebelhub asked: ❝ Did you also read books when you were a kid? ❞ She asks; bichromatic eyes alight with curiosity as she sits on the floor of the Dreamlight Library-- Merlin is out, so it's just Maelie and Belle in the little house of books, her right hand is wedged between propping her head up and her right knee, giving a somewhat-relaxed posture ( though it isn't good for her back-- but she's fifteen and she sure doesn't care much ), ❝ I read a lot back in primary school, so I wonder if you used to read books when you were small too, Belle. ❞ // from @valleydreamt!! hiii maelie is lookin with big old eyes /lh
" oh , most certainly ! for as long as i can remember i've been imagining a world crafted through the stories i read. " as cheesy as it was to say out loud , books were her everything. in most cases they were all that she had even as a young girl. " my papa had many business trips when i was young. there were several occasions where i spent time by myself with nothing to do. fairytale romances helped remind me of how wonderful a world of make believe might be. there were times i even inserted myself in situations with a dashing prince. " she giggles. " i also enjoyed strong protagonists who happened upon a wish that grew from hard times. " she will place a book upon the rather organized pile of others. the dreamlight library was less daunting now with it's pile of books. there is more space for the time being. she is certain tomorrow will come quickly and merlin will use a magic spell to make it a bit messy again but she really does not mind. being a librarian is one of her favorite things.
" tell me about your favorite books ! what story inspired you the most ? " she leans close with a smile. " do you enjoy shakespeare ? "

I do like the cute concept of living in a Disney world full of magic, princesses, heroes and villains; I am mostly invested in the lore surrounding the player character.
While we do have little bits and pieces of that lore in the forms of the torn pages from the Old Ruler’s diary, I think I have enough to guess what happened thanks to the recent update.
So, allow me to indulge myself and share this theory with you all:
Long ago, before the Forgetting and the Night Thorns, the Old Ruler lost someone very close to them. Due to this loss, the Old Ruler couldn’t help but feel a crushing loneliness (and possibly grief) despite still being friends with the valley’s inhabitants. They slowly became less cheery, more distant and possibly cold.
Then, the Old Ruler couldn’t couldn’t take the loneliness anymore and wanted to get rid of it. Stealing some spell books from Merlin’s library, they found the spell they were looking for and tried to cast it but the orbs’ magic prevented them from doing so. After ripping the orbs from their pillars and putting them where no-one can easily find it, they tried the spell again and it worked.
This spell is what separated the Player from the Forgetting in a physical sense and while it did work, there’s two consequences of this spell: the Player is teleported to another world and they have no memory of their life in Dreamlight Valley. With the orbs gone and the valley low on Dreamlight magic, people started disappearing, they started forgetting and the night thorns appeared.
So; who did the Player lose?
Their parents or a very close friend.
By what? That’s the one thing I don’t have an answer for.
Of course, I could be completely off but just imagine the Player getting access to other rooms in the castle, they get to the throne room and they find something that triggers them to see flashes of their past in the valley.

Me: *making a library in my house in Dreamlight Valley* Hmm, some bookstacks would be cool. But Scrooge isn't selling any
Later
*sees the bookstacks outside of Merlin's house*
Oh, perfect!
*takes the bookstacks with Gothel watching me*
He leaves them out in the rain anyway, it's a book rescue to me!
