After an extremely chaotic morning filled with a chorus of children's excited screams echoing through the walls of the library, Ava was in desperate need of some time to herself. She made her way into the bustling atmosphere of the mall and made the choice to unwind with a cinnamon sugar pretzel from the food court and a little retail therapy. A bag from the book store dangled in her hands, holding a few of the new releases she had been dying to get her hands on. As she continued to wander around the mall, her eyes locked onto Tom Ford. Even though the items insider were way above her price range, it never hurt to browse just for fun. Her attention was immediately drawn to a display of purses. She had been lost inside her own little world that she almost didn't realize another person was nearby, causing both of them to collide as Ava stepped back. Her eyes widened as her face displayed shock and sympathy all at once. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry," the woman blurted out. "I didn't even see you there. I'm over here lost in my own little world. Are you alright?"

Athena Ford pushed open the sleek glass door of Tom Ford, the sharp scent of leather and perfume trailing behind her. A crisp shopping bag dangled from one arm, swaying dangerously as she pressed her phone tighter to her ear. Her tone was clipped, laced with impatience, as she spoke to the real estate agent on the other end. "No, I don’t have until next week," she snapped, heels clicking against the pavement as she moved briskly. "I want the papers in my inbox today. If this isn’t closed by tomorrow, I’ll find someone who knows how to keep up." Her focus was solely on the conversation, eyes scanning the street ahead but not truly seeing it. She gestured sharply, as though the agent could see her frustration through the phone. "You’re telling me the land was off-market for a reason? I don’t care if it belonged to the mayor’s mistress. I fucking want it. So find me a number, make them an offer, and collect your commission." Her words cut off abruptly as her shoulder collided with someone, sending her slightly off balance. The Tom Ford bag slipped from her arm, and her phone nearly tumbled from her hand. "Fucking hell—watch where—" she barked instinctively, glancing up with a glare that could freeze molten steel. But the irritation in her face faltered ever so slightly as her gaze landed on the person she’d crashed into.

Ava had just gotten off work and was casually strolling through Coral Coast. Her airpods were in and she was listening to the audiobook she had been obsessing over recently. As she passed by Harborview Hotel, her face turned upwards into a smile as she spotted a familiar face. Taking an airpod out, Ava greeted the woman with a bright smile. "Hey, long time no see," she spoke in a singsong voice. "Now that you mention it, I could use a bite to eat. Did you have any place in particular in mind?"

"Hey!" Isabela called out, running out of the hotel. Coat on and bag in hand, her shift for the day had finished and she was eager to act like a normal person rather than a manager. "Do you want to go grab something to eat?" She asked once she had caught up to them. "I've just finished work and I am starving."

THE CHARACTER.
FULL NAME: Ava Nguyen

PRONOUNS: She/her
AGE + BIRTHDAY: 27 + July 19th, 1997

THE INTERVIEW.
What’s it like, living in Windsor Bay? Did you ever picture yourself settling down here or did you always know this would be your home?
"Windsor Bay is all I've really ever known. My family has a deep rooted history here in this town and I can't really imagine ever calling any other place home."
If you could recommend one hidden gem around town everyone should try, what is it? What makes it so special?
"Crafty Hands is my happy place. I'm an avid crocheter and am always making trips to stock up on yarn and other supplies. It's such a special place because the employees take the extra time to go above and beyond. They also offer classes, which is perfect if you're looking to get into a new craft and have no idea where to start."
What’s your family like? Are you still close, or have you blocked all their numbers?
"I'm extremely close with my family. I lived at home with my parents until I was done with my first four years of college. I moved out around the age of 23, but literally just a few streets over from my parent's house, if that tells you anything."
If you could have any three guests come to dinner, dead or alive, who would they be and why?
"William Shakespeare because I would want his opinion on all of the modern slang we use today. Emily Dickinson, who is my favorite poet. And last but not least, Jennifer Aniston because Friends is my comfort show."
Top five songs currently on your Spotify?
"The Prophecy by Taylor Swift, Foolish One by Taylor Swift, Margaret by Lana Del Rey, I Love You, I'm Sorry by Gracie Abrams, and Daylight by Harry Styles."
Would you say you’re easy to get along/work with? Why or why not?
"I like to think I'm pretty easy to get along with. I absolutely hate confrontation, so I'm not the type to make things difficult for others or anything."
Are you a leader or a follower?
"I'm probably more of a follower than a leader, though I think I do make a good leader when given the opportunity."
It’s the little things in life; tell me three things that bring you a great deal of joy or put a smile on your face.
"My cats, new books, and a cozy night staying at home."

PERSONALITY
An old soul with a sunshiny personality is Ava in a nutshell. She's an introvert who would much rather spend a Friday night at home with her cats and a good book, rather than heading into the nightlife of bars and clubs.
BIOGRAPHY
As the oldest of three children, Ava began feeling the responsibilities that came along with being a member of one of the founding families early on in life. With her family being responsible for the first school within Windsor Bay, her parents Châu ( father ) and Liên ( mother ) made sure she took her education seriously from a very early age. Around the age of six, Ava could usually be found with her nose in a book. Her parents began taking her to the local library and she quickly felt like she was at home amongst the thousands of books. She loved partaking in the weekly story times and making friends who were into the same book series as her. By the time she was a teenager, Ava put in long, hard hours of volunteer work at the library. Not only was it an excuse to log some community service hours for her college applications, but a reason to spend more time within the building that had come to feel like home to her. It wasn't a hard decision to take her love of the library and turn it into her job as she became an adult. After graduating high school, Ava packed her bags and moved across the country to attend college in Syracuse, New York. The university there was one of the best in the country when it came to library science. While she was there, Ava quickly adjusted to life away from Windsor Bay, though she still felt homesick whenever she'd video chat with her parents or siblings and they caught her up on all of the latest Windsor bay gossip. As soon as she earned her degree, Ava made the move right back to Windsor Bay and applied for the open position of Youth Librarian. It wasn't a hard role to land considering everyone within the library system had watched Ava grow up and knew she would be the perfect fit for the position. She also wasn't going to complain about using her family name and their legacy to get ahead when it counted.
HEADCANONS
It's no secret that she loves to read. But Ava is the kind of person that always has to be reading multiple books at a time. She'll be in the middle of a romance, then start a thriller, while listening to a completely different book on audio. She is a fast reader, so a lot of times she will finish a book within just a day or two. She's a hopeless romantic who eats up a cute and spicy romance book. She is always willing to give out book recs to anyone that asks.
She has three cats named Ghost, Raven, and Milo. Ghost and raven are females, while Milo is the only male.
Within the past couple of years, she's picked up crocheting as a hobby. With a lot of practice, she's gotten better at it and usually always has a few projects within the works.
Even though she may not do it as often as she wishes, Ava loves to bake. Her specialty is peanut butter fudge brownies.
She loves playing cozy video games. Especially Sims, Animal Crossing, Dreamlight Valley, and anything of that sort. She does have a Twitch channel and occasionally goes live.
Ava runs a book club that meets once a month at the library to discuss the current book they're reading.
Ava has never really been in a long term/serious relationship. As a teenager she always put her school work first, which left little to no time for dating. In college she had a few short lived relationships, but nothing ever stuck for very long. Even though she doesn't always put herself out there when it comes to dating, she believes her prince charming is out there somewhere and will show up when she least expects it.
