Disney Dreamlight Valley: Touch of Magic

So far in game play, touch of magic is something that is part of the game but still a little rusty and not very encouraged. I have one item in my valley I designed, and if it is in view for dreamsnaps then I can't submit the photo. But with the most recent update, the game seems to be trying to embrace it a bit.

First off, let's start with how one would unlock the ability in their valley. You need a quest from Mickey Mouse called "You Got Mail" where he brings Daisy Duck back to the Valley and with her, her boutique. Once the Boutique is there, you go in and are prompted to put a custom design on the manneqin-as well as decorate around the mannequins. Then you are prompted to put a furniture item to the right on one of the two open pedestals. Talk to Daisy and she will give you Daisy Coins. Mickey will then prompt you to complete a boutique challenge. There is a time delay between challenges. You can unlock all platforms to display items by making money and spending it, 20k each spot.

Let's talk about Touch of Magic. You can add your own touch to furniture or clothes. For furniture, you typically have to craft the blank furniture item. I would highly suggest buying patterns in Scrooge McDuck's shop as they come in handy when designing. Be patient when using the Touch of Magic design tool, I am hoping it gets improved upon in the future. For clothes, you don't have to make the clothes before you can customize them. The clothes you can apply colors or textures and then Motif's. You can unlock motif's through random gameplay or star paths.

Next level about this to discuss is to discuss the money making aspect of it. When your friends visit the valley, they can buy your designs. They can also connect with you by interacting with your computer and then you can shop "online" at your friends stores. To have your friends come over at all, you need to finish the quest from Scrooge McDuck where he thinks there is a ghost in the castle, it's Vanellope. Bringing her into the valley, via Dreamsnaps introduction, and leveling her up a bit will have her give you a rainbow tube. From the intial menu (when you first boot up the game) you can join someone else in their valley, and if you are the host then going to the rainbow tube in your valley opens it up via code. This is similar in concept to the restaurant by which serving customers makes you some money.

So far I am glad to see the developers embracing it, and not shaming the Touch of Magic feature so far but I do wish they would explain that a little bit more. Some of that I want to enjoy through self discovery but a little bit more base explanation would be great. What do you guys think of the Boutique so far?

Transformers Games That Should Exist

Transformers - Social Simulation (Based on Animal Crossing/Palia/Dreamlight Valley)

Synopsis: Traveling from afar, you (Bot or Human unknown, job: professional mechanic) find an abandoned space bridge in a remote region and repair it only to summon notable Autobots, Decepticons, and many others. As you create and mold the region to your liking, you build relations with the Cybertronians you encounter and make them comfortable living in the region with you. Hunt, gather, harvest, and document all the region has to offer from various colored Energon crystals growing in the wild to cybernetic species unleashed. Work together with your Cybertronian friends to maintain a world of your design.

Like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you can venture into parts of Cybertron and some colonies to find certain Transformers and bring them to your region.

Region will be an Earth-based open world (could be another planet entirely) with plenty to explore including secrets of the past, up to eight different environments to unlock to roam among which will have cybernetic animals of all types you can interact with and document (possible organic animals may be included, some can even become mounts). Shockwave and/or Perceptor would have the most rewards for discovering animals and substances respectfully (they are unlocked as companions by completing that section of your guide).

Quests will be available from many Transformers, and when your relations with Transformers have built up to certain levels, you can either have them follow you as your companion or ride on their shoulders and control them to navigate your world but be mindful of certain limitations with each type of Transformer.

There is no timer on how you wish to approach Transformers or on their quests. The only thing that might cause delay is Transformers may return to and from their worlds so if you can’t find them in the overworld region, look in their respectful areas on their planet.

You can destroy the environment with your Transformers (it’ll grow back in an hour, don’t worry) and build activities for them to do to keep them and you entertained.

Various skins (G1, TFP, TFA, etc can be unlocked)

It is somewhat stylized, a mix of cartoon blending like Dreamlight Valley and Animal Crossing combined but in a ground level 3D space like regular games. Cues were also taken from Paleo Pines.

Transformers – Survival (Ark: Survival Evolved, Raft, Don’t Starve)

Synopsis: Stuck in a world unknown filled with Transformers, you must gather resources, survive on the land or suffer imminent death as the environment takes its toll, and the Transformers are not your friends. Tame them to use their abilities or kill them to utilize their parts to conquer your hell or succumb to it.

More resource heavy with little to no story and multiple challenge maps.

Will consist of different Transformers to either kill or tame for your benefit. Talking interaction is nonexistent, however, as specialized devices must be created to tame them as they will otherwise attack you. Most Transformers encountered will be generic Seekers, grounders, Predacons, Dinobots, etc and randomly spawned in the region, can be spray paint customized or modded with certain unlocked kits. Any Transformer of this kind killed in an area for parts will be replaced after a certain period of time in the wild with a randomized other respawning.

Main Transformers characters (i.e. canon characters) will have to be discovered and earned in the encounter. If option is chosen to kill them, the main characters you know will NOT respawn, but their resources are far more useful and will not break. The only way to get canon characters back once dead is to restart the survival mode or go to a previous save if appicable. If tamed, they come with their own unique features that can be utilized not just for various tasks and resources but killing other Transformers. Tamed main characters cannot be altered by their primary color visually but can get upgrades and can have colored designs added.

Will have an online mode where you can hunt and survive with friends. Dying is permanent until the party restarts. Will have revive feature with medical kits built unless dying health bar is depleted.

Transformers can swim…don’t think you are safe.

Battle modes are available with tamed Transformers, including canon characters both online and in single player challenge settings.

Transformers can be mounts but certain sizes and vehicle forms are better for certain resources and against certain Transformers than others.

Transformers – Action-Adventure Open World (Legend of Zelda, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West)

Synopsis: In the world of Autobots and Decepticons, you (a formerly neutral bot) must find your place among them and survive all their trials and tribulations. Explore Cybertron like never before, unlocking old mysteries with the Allspark as your guide, see past and present through the eyes of many, and learn what it takes to be a hero under the command of Optimus Prime and against the forces of the malicious Megatron.

DLC items would include an Earth story against Tarn and others. Faction DLCs would be available as well: choose between Autobot and Decepticon and roam through Cybertron with your fellow bots in different, isolated stories of past and present.

The Allspark Trials will earn you specialized Energon and resources unfounded to boost your stats and powers.

Mounts of neutral Predacons and Dinobots as well as other cybernetic creatures will be available to discover.

Don’t worry, the Nemesis means you no harm…yet. While you roam your world of Cybertron, you may see the Nemesis and Darkmount lingering in the distance. You can explore to your heart's content battling Decepticons in your own time as you see fit but do be warned. Megatron can occasionally cause havoc during your adventures from unleashing dastardly enemies like the vicious Predacons under his command to sending armies to scour the land for you. Hope you brought your A-game.

Unlock and upgrade weapons, obtain new chassis gear and colors to really stand out among the crowd. You can even earn your wings, literally. Make yourself the hero you want to be.

You can interact with cities and their bots from both sides that may request things from you. Be wise how you approach them as some interactions may not go as smoothly as you hope.

Hunting down commanders and lieutenants of the Decepticons in your journey is crucial in progressing but they can be anywhere, so be prepared when you find them. You are in for a devious fight ahead as you make sure Megatron cannot conquer Cybertron.

Transformers – Survival Horror (Resident Evil, Outlast)

Synopsis: You (human) find two ships on a wayward island, crashed and decimated. Not only are they beyond repair but the entire region has been destroyed and infected with the Energon spilled. But not everything is as it seems. On Cyber Island, you are trapped there by malevolent robotic aliens, deranged and broken, and creatures of unknown make as they aim to kill you. Fight through the forces of both Autobots and Decepticons, or this isle will be your tomb.

It is your job to outwit and escape the clutches of the Cybertronians and the residents of the isle that have been mutilated by the toxins of Energon exposure. If you don’t, well, you’re just another dead body they can use.

It’ll be a boss run mostly against both Autobot and Decepticon canon characters by playing their greatest strengths and weaknesses against them. You have no allies; you must survive with limited ammo and resources.

Look for notes and other hints of characters’ pasts and how it got up to this point. Decipher the mysteries of the monsters that you cannot allow off the island.

All canon characters are sadistic, messed up versions of themselves and you will encounter them as such. No, you can’t save them. They are beyond repair.

Possible DLC would be playing as Autobot or Decepticon and seeing all the madness unravel before crashing on the island.

Transformers – Kids Apps/Cozy Apps (Cooking Games, Coloring Games, Puzzle Games, Basic Sports Games, etc.)

Synopsis: There technically isn’t one. But hear me out…

Just fun little games with Transformer themes. We rely so heavily on action stuff that sometimes I wish there was a little game like a cooking app or something where I can just have my favorite Transformer character as a muse, or they are my instructor.

Also, it wouldn’t be bad for kids too, you know? I wouldn’t care if the characters are Chibi or stylized to the environment. I would love a Transformers game where I can relax and not have anything to do except maybe play a few cheesy games with them as the mascot. Kids would probably love it.

If they came out with a bubble blast game with Megatron and Optimus just being there on the screen with like two motions total, I would love it. If Shockwave was just making simple little projects in a kid's science app, I would love to see that.

A Feed Grimlock app, a Talking Transformer app, a coloring app featuring unique Transformer designs from all the continuities, something, man.

Transformers don’t have to be all about war or if you do, reinvent it kind of. See, we don’t utilize Transformers as we should!

Anime Action/Life Simulation Crossover

Inspired by Disney Dreamlight Valley, here's my pitch:

The game follows the player as they receive an envelope that transports them to another world from their own. Upon appearing in the valley, the player is met by (Insert Popular Shonen Character), who explains that Olympith used to be full of villagers living in harmony, but after the Olympith's ruler disappeared, the lands became plagued with madness inducing plants called Akuma Tsubaki causing everyone to go insane, and most of the population to retreat into their own home realms because the magic sustaining their presence disappeared. But others stayed and became trapped as Olympith was overrun by Akuma Tsubaki and fell into disrepair. The player decides to help restore Olympith and get rid of Akuma Tsubaki.

With (Insert Popular Shonen Character)'s help, the player is able to use their own powers to clear away the Akuma Tsubaki blocking access to the house resembling their own from back in reality. Soon, the player meets some of the villagers who stayed behind and recovering special weapons in the form of a gun and a dagger, the player clears away the giant Night Thorns, regaining access to the Thunderheart Stronghold. Inside, they find doorways to various realms where the other villagers had fled when the Kyouki came, all sealed by Akuma Tsubaki. The player collects more weapons and unlocks the doors, visiting the realms and helping the characters there with their problems, bringing them back to Olympith to help restore it. Along the way, they help restore local battle colosseums and provide housing for the characters returning to Olympith.

The player also opens up other regions of the valley blocked by giant Akuma Tsubaki, restoring them by returning the magic items that protect the valley to their respective platforms. As they restore Olympith and help more residents, the player gradually learns that they were the former ruler of Olympith, having stopped visiting due to their mental health getting worse and thus causing Olympith to fall into disrepair. The residents also explain that the appearance of the Kyouki was caused by a dark being called Kagemusha.

As the player is about to restore the final platform, Kagemusha appears and steals the item, revealing themselves to be the player character's past familiar, who was corrupted by negative emotions and fell into a deep depression. Kagemusha intends to use the item in a spell to create a rift that could destroy the valley. The player follows Kagemusha to their castle and talks to them, reminding them of their past memories and helping them accept themselves. Kagemusha shows remorse and works with the player to close the rift, and they are forgiven by the villagers and reintegrate into Olympith with the player's help.

*Sakurashi is home to the legendary Sky Mages, wielders of a forbidden art that manipulates gravity itself, and the city's central nexus, the "Star Tower," allows travelers to journey between the heavens and the earth. The city is also known for its grand festivals where magic-infused fireworks light up the night sky like stars descending to the earth.

*Kurokawa’s sanctity stems from the powerful Spirit Guardians—mystical beasts tied to each temple. It’s said that those who prove worthy may form a bond with these legendary creatures, gaining both wisdom and power. The region also holds the famed "Garden of Souls," a place where time seems to stand still, and those who meditate there may glimpse visions of past and future worlds.

*Kagebara is home to the enigmatic "Shadow Throne," a mystical chair said to grant control over darkness itself. The city's hidden alleys are rumored to be crawling with creatures born of darkness—specters, shadow beasts, and assassins who live in the night. Those brave enough to seek the Shadow Throne must pass through trials in the "Caverns of Night," where light is banished, and only the keenest sense of perception will guide the way.

*At the summit of Tenshiyama lies the “Chamber of the Four Winds,” where the four elements are controlled by an ancient elemental spirit. Pilgrims who ascend the mountain are often tested by the spirits of the mountain, and those who pass may gain the ability to control the elements themselves.

*Hōjō is home to the "Sea Serpents of the Deep," mythical creatures said to guard the most sacred of the islands. These serpents are believed to have the power to control the ocean and tides. Only those who prove their worth can gain their favor, enabling them to harness the power of the sea in times of great need.

*The “Golden Gate,” a massive, glowing bridge built by the ancient engineers, serves as both a mystical and technological marvel, a path between the realms of light and darkness. The city is known to hold an ancient relic, the “Heart of the Ocean,” said to grant immense power to whoever controls it—but only if they can survive the trials of the city’s shifting realities.

*The island, Seiryu, is home to the “Phoenix Flame,” an immortal bird that is said to rise from the volcanic lava every century to grant blessings of strength and rebirth to those it deems worthy. The flames of Seiryu are also said to hold the secret to eternal life, though many who seek it meet their doom in the island’s treacherous volcanic caverns.

Hi! How you get Jack in Disney dreamlight valley? I’ve unlocked the forgotten lands but I haven’t found a way to find him

Hello Anon, hope you're well! :)

Okay, I feel you, I had some trouble initially too so I'll give you a hand.

Since Jack is part of a free update, you should just get the quest 'Something Comes A'Knocking' after updating the game and booting it up.

I'm going to put the rest under the cut because if others would like to figure this out for themselves and not be spoiled I want to respect that, so, spoilers under the cut!!

I found a little Matryoshka Dolly on the Plazza in front of the steps to the fountain and I knew something was up. SO.

The first dolly can be found anywhere around the Plazza area but I've read that it's more likely to spawn:

Just outside the player's house. 🏠

Near the stairs leading to Peaceful Meadow. 🌳

'Directly east of the fountain' ⛲

And,

Behind or in front of Scrooge's store. 💵

Take her to Merlin and he'll give you the rundown.

While you're here, I'll give you some tips on the locations of the other dolls.

The second, third and fourth Dolls can be found in basically any of the other Biomes so just embrace your inner magpie and look for sparkly things! ✨

According to this guide though, the Dolls are more likely to spawn near landmarks like:

WALL-E's Garden. 🌱

Moana's Boat. ⛵

Bridges in Sunlit Plateau. 🌞

The cave where Olaf is found in Frosted Heights during 'The Great Blizzard' quest. ⛄

And,

The huge tree we locked Mama Gothel in all that time ago. (lol)

Since you've unlocked the Forgotten Lands Biome, you'll be able to get to the Pumpkin Tree. (yay, nice one! :D)

And this is where I struggled because it's basically a very long, thin tree that they've hidden somewhere around Forgotten Lands and mine spawned like... You know the waterfall in Sunlit Plateau? How you can see the top/back of it from the Forgotten Lands? Well, it spawned there and took me an age to find because I was impatient so... Maybe check there first lol.

I also couldn't interact with it and apparently it's a little bug for quite a few people at the moment. Luckily you can just use F and move the tree like a piece of furniture to gain access to the door and there you go!

Now you need to feed it the Matryoshka Dolls to unlock the door and summon our Skeleton Overlord.

Jack's house will cost you 5000 Star Coins to construct.

Something old, and Something new

That's a really deep title for a journal entry about mundane human activities.

I have to admit, I didn't do much today. My husband kind of took the lead on a bunch of stuff so I could sit on my ass. I did cook dinner for us, and I parented a bunch. We're trying to detoxify our oldest from TV. Aside from initial upsets, she's doing great. The wee one's naps have been thrown for a loop, so that's really great.

So what my title is referencing is actually more about the hobbies I participate in today. I finished up The Happiness Project, which inspired my happiness project. And lo and behold, my husband was right. This project is not going to be a fix all for my life. I knew that. By the way. This was just a place to start that my Type A brain can get behind. Goals. Themes. Good for my brain. So I stated a new book (Momma Cusses: A Field Guide to.... lots of other stuff, it's a huge title). If you're a parent, I suggest you read it and find her social medias. She's amazing. So, out with the happiness project, in with the parenting/ not parenting book (read the book, you'll get the reference).

Video games had the same thing today. Played both a new video game I've grown to love and be attached too (Disney Dreamlight Valley), as well as rediscovering the Sims 4 and my love for that game.

It was an interesting day.

Tomorrow I celebrate Ostara (very late) with my family and then Easter with the in laws. Send good vibes please.

Dreamlight Valley - Language Challenge!!

Do you like a challenge? Do you not speak French (or just a little)? Would you like to hear Belle or the Beast/Adam in their language? Guess what?! You can! (and there are other languages too!)

So here is how you do it: on the home page go to Settings then General.

If you have a really hard time with French I would advice to do this after you bring Belle and the Beast/Adam to the valley, or you can use youtuber's guide in your language to help.

Doing this is quite useful to learn a new language and fun specially if you have been playing DDV for soooooo long and you are tired of hearing them saying the same things over and over.

And if you regret you can always go back to how it was!
