"Gary Oldman said that when he first read the script, he decided it would be worth doing the movie just so he could feel what it would be like to say to someone, "I've crossed oceans of time to find you."" Hello, author! Could I request the Castlevania boys' reactions to finding out their s/o is actually royalty?
Tumblr media
He is surprised, to say the least. But Alucard supposed it made sense.
The fact that they knew very little about the world led Alucard to believe they had just been sheltered & naïve. Not literally excluded from it.
When their home was overrun by Night creatures they had to leave everything behind and start anew.
He admires their effort, and hopes that they can be returned to their old life; should they choose to return.
Tumblr media
He actually knew all along.
Dracula has lived a long time, and met various people before his self-confinement, and there is something about royalty that gives off this.... essence.
Maybe it be a divine right, like so many believe, or just the soft living, but he could tell instantly and chose not to pry because it’s not his secret.
Tumblr media
It’s a shock to him. That they’re part of the ‘problem’.
Hector has spent most of his life thinking that humans and their hierarchy are the problem in the world. Man need to control things.
To find out that they are part of this system, at the highest tier persay, and are sweet, kind, compassionate, and caring sends his beliefs for a loop. Maybe it’s not just ‘man’ but ‘men’ (the individual).
Though he does create some distance temporarily from them while he wraps his head around this new fact.

speaking of breastfeeding vampire children do you think that thats how they feed on blood during their baby years. like they just 2 for 1 that shit when they're being breastfed cause their teeth mean they're drawing blood anyways. - rachel anon
as far as we know, in the castlevania universe alucard is the only “vampire child” to have ever existed. vampires don’t reproduce with each other, and i have a personal hc that i mentioned in aurora - alucard only was born bc dracula was extremely powerful and had the means to keep lisa alive and healthy through her difficult pregnancy.
that being said,
it would make sense if they had to give alucard blood as an infant. maybe i’m being influenced by fuckass renesmee BUT perhaps just lisa’s milk wasn’t enough to make him grow healthily.
HOWEVER, if we consider (1) lisa’s love for humanity (2) the fact that dracula stopped drinking human blood after he met her (3) the fact that alucard doesn’t drink blood and he doesn’t NEED blood to survive as other vampires do, we can also assume that they didn’t give him blood. maybe lisa wouldn’t have allowed it due to her morals.
so the answer is a solid maybe ??? but i’d like to think that no, they didn’t.

Consuming Bg3 and being a Castlevania fan at the same time has made me think how the cast would react to a Dark Urge character in the universe. I think Dracula would try to turn them into a tool in his war for humanity, but then characters like Alucard or Sypha, depending on the morals of the dark urge, would see a person who’s trapped inside their own body and desperately fighting for control.
A/N: I love it when my two hyperfixations overlap! A+ question, Nonnie!
Tumblr media
Castlevania Characters Reacting to the Dark Urge (Durge from Baldur’s Gate 3):
Tumblr media
Dracula:
Dracula sees the Dark Urge as yet another weapon of destruction he can utilize against the people of the world. The idea that this person, this being (if they’re a Dragonborn) could unleash destruction on unprecedented levels is highly attractive to him. Dracula wants the humans and the vampires gone. Beyond that, he doesn’t care what happens to the Earth so long as all sentient living things die. As long as Durge can help make that happen, Dracula has no reservations about destroying all worlds in the process.
I do believe Dracula would have some hesitance employing Durge, or bringing Durge in right away, as he would be unfamiliar with this so-called Faerun place, as well as this mighty Bhaal. Dracula would research what he can, and ask other trusted Generals, namely Hector and Isaac to enquire about Durge’s past, to make sure by using Durge as a tool for his war plan, he isn’t accidentally signing any infernal contracts. Dracula may concede to an agreement with Death, but he’s not about to make a coalition with some lesser demon. Whoever this ‘Bhaal’ is, they’re lucky Dracula’s desires happen to coincide with their own, but they should not mistake their shared goal for favor.
I do think Dracula begins to see Durge as conflicted if Durge begins to show hesitance in embracing their Bhaalspawn heritage. Oddly, I don’t think he’d fault them for it. I think Dracula would just leave it alone. Perhaps a part of him is conflicted as well. Perhaps he sees glimpses of Lisa in Durge’s fears about being a good person. Perhaps, he’s just too far gone to care.
Trevor:
Trevor’s first inclination is to kill Durge before Durge can kill them (understandably so). But, if Durge is amnesiac, or begging for their life, Trevor is willing to work out a tentative deal: no one kills anyone until they find out more about this whole ‘Bhaalspawn from another universe situation’. He makes it clear though, any funny business, and Trevor won’t hesitate to end them where they stand.
Trevor is very interested in all the lore that Durge remembers and chooses to share. He spends every night around the campfire listening, contrasting what Durge says against all he’s read from the Belmont hold. It would seem some magical rules don’t change no matter what universe you’re in.
On the occasions Durge feels the most out of control, they come to Trevor, ordering him to tie them up. Durge trusts that Trevor would never let any growing sentiment come between him and his two companions- Sypha and Alucard. Durge knows that if the bonds were to break, and they were to lose control, Trevor would kill him if necessary. It’s in this show of vulnerability, that Trevor and Durge come to respect one another. They find they’re more alike than different, especially when it comes to carrying guilt from the past.
Trevor tells Durge that he hopes once this is over, once Dracula is defeated, they can find a way to send Durge home. Maybe the infinite corridor, maybe some other way. As grateful as Trevor is for the solidarity and allyship, he knows Durge doesn’t belong in his world. And as a Belmont, it falls on him to remedy that- one way or another.
Sypha:
Sypha is eager to gain another ally, although she hasn’t met anyone in a form like Durge who didn’t turn out to be a mindless night creature or beast, so she keeps them under a close eye. If Durge is also a magician (thanks to their specific DND class), she’s all the more impressed. Having a higher level of spells suggests that Durge isn’t brainless- they’re a complex person, fighting for control.
Sypha encourages Durge to meditate, to try and still their mind, both to regain their memories and to gain further discipline. She finds it helps ground her, especially after the heat of battle. It’s in this daily meditation that Durge begins to recall more and more of their past, even though some of what’s revealed makes them wish it hadn’t. Sypha is always there to comfort them and offer an encouraging word if they need it. She senses a great conflict within Durge and wants to do everything she can to sway them to stay on the side of the light.
Sypha stays up with Durge on some nights when the memories and flashbacks make it too hard to sleep. She tells them stories from her people- her journey and many of the tales her Speakers have recorded from ‘the future’. Durge finds this oddly calming as if such promised spoken word means that their father’s mission will ultimately fail; it must not come to pass so long as Speakers still have a ‘future’ to speak of.
Alucard:
Alucard can easily go either way, and I think it’d be highly dependent on Sypha and Trevor’s reaction to Durge that would finally cement his opinion. He’s more detached than his two companions and tends to get lost inside his mind. Alucard fears that should his father manage to corrupt Durge, he and his friends will have an even greater battle ahead. On the other hand, Alucard worries that Durge aiding them in their fight may not be the best thing for any of them. If Durge’s blind rage could be triggered by fighting vampires and night creatures, perhaps they should sit this one out. The last thing Alucard would want to do is unintentionally make it easier for this ‘Bhaalspawn’ to unleash Bhaal’s terror on this world.
Alucard does relate to Durge however, and that empathy makes him hesitant to discount Durge completely. Durge is considered evil due to their heritage and upbringing, as a dhampir, many would say the same about Alucard. Alucard supposes the only difference that kept him from becoming more like how Durge was in their memories, was because of his mother. Even if Dracula was never lenient to humans from the start, Alucard had his mother, Lisa, reminding him, and teaching him how to be good, and how to be kind.
Alucard feels almost sorry for Durge. Maybe it’s in that pity that Alucard finds himself confiding in Durge more and more- about his father Dracula, about his genius, and his plans for ending humanity. But mostly, Alucard mourns what could have been had his father chosen to use all his knowledge to help humanity the way his mother would have wanted. Durge is the one who listens solemnly this time, knowing what Alucard means to say, even before he can say it. It’s a heavy burden, carrying the weight of all the things your parents couldn’t quite do. Durge is grateful someone understands.

A/N 2.0: Sorry for the slower updates folks! Changed jobs. Now doing more physical labor and while I thought that was good because it’d leave me with more brain power to write, apparently my brain power gets zapped up using my physical spoons as well.
On a more personal note, my Rheumatologist did officially diagnose me with Hyper-Joint Mobility and fibromyalgia. So I’m trying to take more stock into what my body feels daily, because, did you guys know this, pain is not a normal feeling????? Like most people don’t have ANY aches or soreness AT ALL??? It’s baffling to me but my doc assured me there are many such cases.
I’m looking at some of my fellow writers whom I admire and pondering opening limited commissions. I still need to look up a lot—like word counts, pricing, boundaries for requests, that sort of thing—but I will let you know what I decide in the new year.

I feel like Star Wars missed the opportunity to make Darth Maul and Count Dooku beef. Like all there’s this conversation about Maul and Kenobi’s relationship but imagine being Count Dooku and you gotta live with the fact that the mf who killed your Padawan (one of the events that ended up making you align yourself with the Sith) is alive and living his best life. I would be so pissed. Sidious had to tell Count Dooku not to fuck with Maul bc I refuse that Dooku had no want to slide for Qui Gon Jinn

Mihawk coming home from a rough and irritating day, that he just wants some peace quiet. So (Y/N) runs him a warm relaxing bath and gets him a bottle of his finest wine. Mihawk is so grateful to have such a helpful and devoted servant such as yourself, always knowing what needs and never failing to complete a task no matter how hard and simple, but he can tell that your stressed too. That you had a rough and irritated day with the rest of the staff.

Thinking about Renfield stitching up Dracula's old clothes whenever he finds them In a pile somewhere. He grabs moth eaten blazers and button up shirts and ties and fixes them up and puts them somewhere nice where they won't get destroyed again.
He's such a little housewife and I can't stop thinking about him sitting on the floor of the hospital with a thread and needle humming his favourite songs while Dracula sleeps. Sometimes he repairs clothes deep Into the night and Dracula wakes up to the sounds of his familiar pricking his fingers and humming to himself. Most times he startles Renfield with his presence and makes his familiar prick himself on purpose, though on rare occasions he lets Renfield continue for a little longer while he scratches him behind the ear like a dog.
After Dracula dies he ends up teaching himself how to knit and crochet with all of the free time he has. He has a giant basket full of yarn and spends all day and all night just repeating the same motions with a needle over and over again. He's a very fidgety person and loves the simple movements of his wrists whenever he makes something (It's definitely a stim for him)
Rebecca comes over and finds him after he hasn't slept In 3 days and drags him over to his bed and tidies up while he naps. He's pretty bad at crocheting at the start, and the yarn keeps coming loose, but he gradually Improves at following patterns he finds In magazines (grandma coded) until he manages to make a blanket for Rebecca!

Could I request Alucard from Castlevania with a dhampir s/o?
Alucard + Dhampir s/o
Tumblr media
They probably met as children.
Lisa, knowing that her child would be different from all other children in the world, probably set out to find someone like Adrian (Alucard). He couldn’t be the first.
And as she’s known from experience, uniqueness makes one extraordinary but also makes one incredibly isolated.
Dracula would obviously have to help with this. Reaching out through his extensive network of vampires and loyal subjects to find, perhaps even just one, person like his son.
He is able to find such a one in s/o.
They would come over for visits and Alucard & s/o would play together. Becoming fast friends.
They would also use one another for sparing practice. Coming into their vampire traits and needing a sort of testing/sounding board for these new gifts.
The relationship between them originally was one of childish flirtation and crushes. Nothing too serious, although they were Alucard’s first kiss.
Their families drifted apart when Dracula went to travel as a man for several years, and Lisa became a local doctor.
After the tragedy their orbits came aligned again. Only, for the first time, they were not on the same side.
S/O was furious with the humans for what they did to Lisa. A woman who they considered a second mother. And they had not been protected from man’s cruelty nearly as much as Alucard had.
He was hurt to find them across the battlefield, but can understand their anger and tried to reason with them.
They do not help Alucard defeat his father, but they don’t stand in his way.
When it’s over they both commiserate over their loss, and try to make sense of things from here on out.
They move into the castle with him, securing the Belmont hold as well, and try to make a life together.
It’s nice being with someone they don’t always have to explain themselves too. The quirks and eccentricities of being a dhampir. It makes both of them more at ease.

Hcs off modern Castlevania chars? Like jobs/friends & stuff
Ask: Hcs off modern Castlevania chars? Like jobs/friends & stuff
A/N: In this, most people are living sort of happily ever after. Does that make them OOC, yes it does. Do I care? No, I don’t.
👷‍♂️ Modern-Day Castlevania Headcanons: Jobs 👩‍⚕️
I see Trevor as something of a detective/cop, but I don’t think he’d be down with working for the system. Being a P.I. or an independent security contractor of some sort would probably suit his personality better. He’s the cool kinda punk that strikes fear into the hearts of violent bigots but is also somehow seen as a safe adult to little kids. Which he doesn’t mind. He finds it useful that only those hiding something or guilty of something see him as a threat. He’s not the best with kids, but he’s nice enough to them. He was on his own a lot from a very young age- definitely a latch-key kid- so he feels a fair share of protectiveness when it comes to them.
Sypha strikes me as a natural protector/nurturer, so maybe a preschool/grade-school teacher or physical therapist? She loves learning and sharing that knowledge with others. I can absolutely see her leading workshops related to whatever it is she’s chosen to have a career in. And she’s great with everyone- adults, kids, seniors, animals- you name it, they love Sypha. (Except for assholes and Karens of course.)
Alucard is introverted by nature, and also a lifelong student like Sypha. He’s also the inheritor/keeper of his father’s money and his mother’s wisdom. For that reason, I see him as a History or Anthropology Professor- at the college level and above. Maybe even an eventual department head. He’s very serious, and doesn’t have the demeanor for working with children or amateurs; he wants to teach people who are just as committed as he is to what they’re learning. His whole life he feels like his purpose is greater than what it currently is, and because of that, he’s never quite content with the life he’s living. He feels like something or someone is missing from his journey.
I think the three of them would become friends eventually, but one like one of those friend groups that makes absolutely no sense to people outside it. Like, you wouldn’t expect a rough and tumble cop-hating anarchist, a feisty, yet kind-hearted physical therapist, and a tall skinny history academic to be besties, yet there they are.
Maybe they’d meet at a conference somewhere. Like a wellness convention/conference is taking place at Alucard’s college, Sypha’s a prominent speaker (ah! pun not intended) there, and Trevor’s company is providing extra security.
Maybe there’s some kind of snafu, and there’s like an assailant loose on campus or something. Trevor’s chasing the guy, but Alucard sees him coming and decides he’ll help out and head the bad guy off. But in the end, the two men are beaten to the quick by Sypha, who stops the guy in the most impressively timed frisbee toss they’ve ever seen. The two men insist on talking Sypha out for coffee- and getting to know her, because, let’s be honest, who wouldn't want to be friends with Sypha? The three of them get to talking and the rest is history.
Dracula is someone who just has power- he doesn’t have to amass it, it just naturally comes to him. He’s the type to gather fortune and invest it in a bunch of different properties and revolutionary pharmaceutical investment opportunities. He’s the Big Guy in the Chair. And then he just sort of, fucks off to his mansion to do whatever he wants. He’s a recluse- he deems human interaction pointless and unnecessary as a man of his stature. Who needs to leave the house when you can just pay people to do everything for you? He’d much rather be alone anyway. Of course that all changes when he meets Lisa.
Lisa, similar to her nature in the show, would be a physician of some sort. I could see her being especially interested in women’s medicine or infectious disease as it disproportionately affects those in need, and she has a very strong internal sense of justice. Maybe she seeks out Vlad because he’s the big cheese CEO of a pharmaceutical company that’s publicly refusing to lower the cost of a specific drug that would revolutionize her patients’ care. She’d find out where he lived, bang on his door, and demand he lower his profit margins right now. Of course, no one has ever had the balls to say such a thing to his face before, and Drac falls in love pretty much instantly.
The two of them are a power couple: he still maintains so much fortune and sway, but his partnership with Lisa makes him see ways to use it for good. He starts charities and fundraisers- he shocks the wealthy world by going rogue- and gives away most of what he earns instead of hoarding it. And it’s no secret it’s thanks to Lisa.
Now Hector: I know everyone headcanons Hector as being a veterinarian, but for me, I think it makes more sense for him to be a mortuary or a medical examiner. He’s lovely with his pets, but at the same time, I don’t think he has the stomach to do what vets have to do. Vets have to talk to owners and their families and be personable and bright. He sees his pets as possessions, not family members. So a job where it’s just him and no one else- no crying kid or elderly companion to reassure would be better suited for him.
Hector is naturally inquisitive- a trait we saw even when he was imprisoned, so I think being a medical examiner would be very rewarding to him. He’d find it invigorating, to get down the truth of a mysterious death or shocking murder. And because he’s not squeamish, he’d be very clear and articulate presenting information on the stand.
Issac’s big thing throughout the series is loyalty and personal growth. S2 Isacc and S4 Issac are very different people. So I’m basing this more on S4 Isaac. I think he’d benefit in a position of some power, but also of some charity. Maybe as a politician or a professional lobbyist. He advocates for causes he believes are just and does not shy away from verbal confrontation when it comes to hashing out right vs. wrong.
I could see this being the way he meets Vlad and Hector. If some sort of tragedy or panic happened, and a large emergency medical response was involved, I could see Isacc propositioning Dracula for donations, in exchange for dinner and a chance to sway his mind about a certain political vote. Hector would be on the other end of that tragedy, dealing with those who lost their lives. Perhaps Issac seeks out Hector as a form of outreach, to prove he is committed to what he says he stands for. He connects Hector with Dracula, and the three of them find they’re all rather pleasant company compared to the majority of the unremarkable humans out there. They can all look death in the face and feel no fear. They don’t do bullshit, and they get along well because of it.

Hii! Can I please request a Renfield x fem!witch!reader headcannon? Ooo like a witch from TVD (if you’ve seen it!!)
Hey Cece!! Unfortunately, I haven't seen TVD yet, so I'll try my best!!
♡♡♡
He was shocked when you told him about your little hobby.
I mean, he's practically been a slave to a vampire for ninty-three years, so he's bound to be a little uncomfortable by anything paranormal.
At first.
When you showed him your tarot deck for the first time and very accurately read his past, he didn't talk for a solid ten minutes. Just blankly staring down at the cards laid out before him.
He hated the idea of spirits watching over him or something like that, but he was also oddly mesmerized by it all, too.
Not only by the accuracy of the cards or the safety he felt whenever he carried around the small bag of crystals you put together just for him, but how much you loved your craft.
How splaying out a deck of tarot or oracle cards was like a second nature to you.
Or when you'd cleanse your alarming amount of crystals in the full moon's light.
You always got this focused look in your eyes whenever you finally got to sit down and practice your spells and such. He just found it so adorable and sexy all at the same time!
Call him old fashioned, but Renfeild never believed in any of that stuff, really. A rock is a rock and cards are just cards. And burning sage releases a relaxing smell, not chase away evil spirts. That was what he truly believed.
Then again, if an ancient, evil vampire can manipulate him for a lifetime, then he guessed anything could happen.
But none of that stops him from supporting you in anyway that he can!!
See a new crystal that just seems to be calling to you? He'll get it for you!
Wanna practice your tarot readings? He's more than happy to dig into his past, present, or future just for you!
Need some help making your very own sage bundle? He's your guy!
Hell, sometimes he's asking you about the constellations and zodiac signs, or the moon and what all of it means.
No matter what he thinks, as long as you're happy, Ren will love and support you no matter what.
