whats some shit you just made up about the saturdays?? (All characters, i dont give a fuck lmao)
Haha, I gotchu fam~ MAKESHITTHEFUCKUP-INATOR, ONLINE!!!!
Doyle's alcohol allergy. Lmao, just felt like fucking with you. No buzz for the rest of your days, Readhead.
ASD Beeman. All of us in the fandom locked eyes, shook hands, and shot him with the Beam. He's autistic. Sorry not sorry.
After the whole mess with Abbey, that Paris debacle, and trying to put Zak on ice, Miranda also gained the Depressed perk, and promptly retired. Get sad, nerd. Also, fuck you. Paul's Lycan family have pack-bonded with you. ope you like big beefed up dogs, beeyotch.
Paul had already been close with the scientists from the gate, but after the struggle of dealing with Kur and being at each others throats for months on end, Paul felt incredibly weird around the other scientists (save Miranda, who is like a sister to him, but we'll touch on that later..)
I would like to think Dr hibagon or whatever the fuck his name is would be trying to find a way to replace his body, but I also think it'd be cool if he stayed a giant monster with a weird dog. The man has to hae family thou, like he's got to have someone who's just back in japan like, "Wtf happened to my uncle dawg? Where is he??" *Sad face emoji* whatever, I'll think of something or another later. I just like the guy
Dr Bara was weird and silly and personally, no headcanons, I just wanna eat him up. Thank you. Also build more strange robots, sir. Love you.
I cant think of any more and I gotta bounce, so I guess just have these for now~! Thank yoooou~~ 🤞🏼💖✨

In January of 2024, Dr. Bara Zuhaili entered Gaza on a two-week medical mission with a U.S.-based organization, Rahma Worldwide. Dr. Zuhaili dedicated most of his time to Shuhada' Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al-Balah, central Gaza. While this was not his first experience in a wartime or crisis setting — he had undertaken medical missions in Syria and was in southern Turkey during the earthquake — it proved to be his most horrific. As a vascular surgeon, he was tasked with assisting Gazan doctors in one of the ugliest tasks of this war: amputations. A generation of amputees has emerged, with over 10 children losing one or more limbs per day, on average, since the beginning of the war. Dr. Ghassan Abu-Sittah called it “the biggest cohort of pediatric amputees in history.” Even this statistic, reported by UNICEF in December of 2023, is now outdated. The true number of men, women, and child amputees remains unknown, with estimates ranging upwards of 10,000 people. It is a number that will continue to rise as new and unknown weapons destroy tissue and bone, crumbling medical infrastructures and scarce supplies force constant life-and-death decisions, while infections and chronic illnesses — largely ignored — silently kill or handicap thousands.
Is this the first time you've worked in a war zone or in a humanitarian crisis? Did any of them prepare you for this? It was not the first time. Unfortunately, I had experience in Syria, working in the underground hospitals in the besieged areas of Aleppo and Idlib. There, the healthcare facilities were also under constant attack by the Syrian regime. But Gaza was unlike anything I had seen before. To start, the supply chain was completely broken. Supplies were extremely limited in Deir Al Balah, where I was based for most of my stay. The hospital functioned at only 5-10% capacity compared to any similar hospital in the Middle East—I'm not even talking about an American hospital. Then, there were the number of patients. Just to give you an idea: Shuhada' Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al Balah is only equipped for 150 patients. Under extreme circumstances, they could maybe stretch to accommodate up to 200 patients. When I arrived, there were 950 patients, in addition to over 20,000 refugees sleeping in the corridors of the hospital and its complex. Every time we experienced a bombardment, we had anywhere from 20 to 60 patients rushing in simultaneously, in addition to the patients already being treated. It was completely overwhelming and overcrowded. The third issue had to do with the type of injuries. I've seen a lot of trauma before — traumatic injuries are not new to me — but the level of trauma I saw was something I've never witnessed in my entire life. When I was in the operating room, I would get a call from the ER saying someone was shot in the leg and they needed me as soon as possible. In my mind, someone shot in the leg with a bullet would have an entry size of about five to six millimeters and an exit wound size of about two centimeters long. That is what I was familiar with. What I saw in Gaza — which I had never seen before — was literally as if an explosion, an RPG, had exploded into the leg. The entry wound would be about five to 10 centimeters wide and the exit wound would be almost 30 centimeters wide. One bullet would destroy a diameter of 10-15 centimeters… all of the muscle, bone, arteries, and nerves were all gone, destroyed.I'm not a military expert, I don't know much about weapons. But I don't know what kind of bullet can cause that much destruction. With a bullet wound in the U.S., I could get away with doing a bypass to salvage the leg. In Gaza, there was nothing anyone could do to salvage the leg. The amount of tissue damage forced me to do amputations almost every single time.
Can you describe what a single day would look like? As a rule, anytime a bombardment happened, we would wait between four to eight hours before we received any injured people. In Deir Al-Balah, we would see the missile hitting two to three kilometers away and we knew that there were many casualties, but it would take these people — who were only three kilometers away from us — four to eight hours to reach our location. The IOF (Israeli Occupation Forces) prevented any ambulances from entering the scene, and anyone attempting to help or approach would be shot. I had many cases where the ambulance driver would come to me holding two or three kids. They were dead, and he would swear to me they were alive four hours ago. We lost a lot of lives just waiting to reach us in the hospital. Our days typically began around seven in the morning, and even though the night was filled with attacks and bombardments, no casualties would reach us before the morning. By then, we would go to the ER and try to start the triage process: determining who needs to go to the OR first and who could afford to wait. We would then perform surgeries throughout the day, often not finishing until one or two in the morning. Sometimes, if I had time, I would do my rounds to check on the patients, and by late afternoon, we would have more bombardments and injuries coming in until midnight. Usually, by midnight, things slowed down… not because there was no bombardment, but because they couldn't reach us anymore.

A wearable electrical nerve stimulation device can provide relief to people experiencing the persistent pain and fatigue linked to long COVID, a study co-led by UCLA and Baylor College of Medicine researchers suggests.
Long-COVID, a complex and lingering condition following COVID-19 recovery, affects approximately 1 in 13 adults in the U.S. Symptoms such as widespread pain, fatigue, and muscle weakness often continue to disrupt daily activities, including walking and basic tasks.
The study, published in the peer-reviewed Scientific Reports, focused on a wearable Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) device, which uses low-voltage electrical currents to reduce pain, fatigue, and mobility issues associated with long-COVID.
The project was co-led by Dr. Bijan Najafi, research director of the Center for Advanced Surgical & Interventional Technology at UCLA Health and co-director of NSF IUCRC Center to Stream HealthCare in Place (C2SHIP), who said the device could have wider applications.
"While this study focused on managing pain and fatigue caused by long COVID, it may also have potential applications for addressing similar symptoms in individuals with other respiratory diseases, those who have experienced extended ICU stays and developed post-hospitalization weaknesses, and conditions involving chronic fatigue and pain, such as fibromyalgia or chemotherapy-related side effects," Najafi said. "But further studies are needed to confirm these potential uses."
In the study, 25 participants with chronic musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, and gait difficulties were assigned either a high-dose (active) TENS device or a low-dose (placebo) device. Both groups used the TENS device for three to five hours daily over a four-week period.
Researchers measured participants' pain levels, fatigue, and walking performance before and after the therapy period. Findings indicated that the high-dose TENS group experienced notable improvements in pain relief (26.1% more relief compared to placebo) and walking ability (8% during fast walking), suggesting that wearable TENS therapy may help reduce long-COVID's impact on daily life.
The high-dose TENS group also reported a slightly higher perceived benefit (71.2%) compared to the low-dose group (61.4%), underscoring the potential of wearable TENS technology to support long-COVID recovery.
One factor in the study's success was likely the high rate of daily device usage, Najafi said. The wearable nature of the TENS device allowed participants to use it seamlessly throughout the day, without disrupting their routines.
"This wearable TENS system offered immediate, on-demand relief from pain and fatigue, making it easy to integrate into daily activities," Najafi said.
He also cautioned that more research is needed. "This study provides some hope for finding an effective, non-invasive solution for managing lingering COVID-19 symptoms that continue to affect millions," he said. "But our sample size was limited, so further research is needed to confirm these findings."
Study co-authors are Alejandro Zulbaran-Rojas, Rasha Bara, Myeounggon Lee, Miguel Bargas-Ochoa, Tina Phan, Manuel Pacheco, Areli Flores Camargo, Syed Murtaza Kazmi, Mohammad Dehghan Rouzi, Dipaben Modi, and Fidaa Shaib of Baylor College of Medicine.

You have been rebloging furry art recently, so I got curious about what are some of the things you like seeing in furry art
with the more lax rules I have on this sideblog i'm much more encouraged to reblog the shit i see on my dash (mainly from my mutuals) so that explains the recent surge of furry reblogs. but to answer your question
tigers are an immediate reblog for obvious reasons. bara shit is second place but thats a bit of an odd one to explain
i'm agender and asexual, but I think masculinity is something I find interesting or cool. I think it helps come to terms with my own masculinity, whatever percentage gay I am and may border on kink territory. buff furries and fat furries (within realistic measures, not hyper muscle or your usual fatfur art)
but in regards to the more nsfw stuff, it's usually that 10% of me that actually finds it attractive, and then the other 90% is thinking it's cool conceptually. I think depictions of LGBTQ stuff in art is awesome not because of what (little) it does for me, but because of what it represents
tl;dr I reblog tigers because tigers, bara because I like the concept of masculinity, anything gay or kink related because I genuinely appreciate what it represents as a piece of art. like if you scroll down to the leather stuff? I'm not into leather. but tell me that gay shit isn't cool as fuck

The Explorer, the Vampire Woman, and the Furniture Tusslers: An Evening of Vaudeville
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On November 6, 1916, the Majestic Theater in Utica, NY reopened under new management. The evening’s entertainment, proclaimed the Utica Observer, had been “selected with great care.” Topping the five-act vaudeville bill was Dr. Frederick A. Cook, self-styled discoverer of the North Pole. “It is not often that a personage of Dr. Cook’s fame and renown comes to Utica,” asserted the Observer.
In fact, this wasn’t his first visit to Utica. Cook had appeared at the Shubert Theater in September 1914, bringing his “unceasing fight” to the middle of New York State. The Observer’s correspondent didn’t take a side in the Cook vs Peary debate. However, the writer described Cook’s lecture on his polar adventures as “entertaining, educational and amusing.” The citizens of Utica, the article suggested, could hear Cook speak and judge his truthfulness themselves.
Cook’s 1916 Utica lecture was “illustrated with slides,” though it’s unclear whether or not he incorporated his film acting debut, The Truth About the Pole. Quite possibly, the Majestic was not equipped to show motion pictures. Regardless, the lecture was a hit. Throughout Cook’s engagement of November 6-8, both the matinee and evening performances were “crowded,” and the explorer “received the esteem accorded to every hero by Uticans.” Cook claimed that he went into vaudeville because it allowed him to share his story (and make his case before) the widest possible audience, and in Utica, that decision paid off.
Tumblr media
[Theda Bara as Cigarette in Under Two Flags. Photoplay, October 1916.]
Variety was the heart and soul of vaudeville, and the other acts on the bill reflect that. Cook was the main attraction, but he had to share the spotlight with another star: Theda Bara. Bara did not appear onstage, but onscreen, in the feature film Under Two Flags. Born Theodosia Burr Goodman in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1885, Bara was a major movie star of the 1910s, famous for her femme fatale “vampire” or “vamp” roles. In Under Two Flags, she plays against type. Her character, named Cigarette, is described as sweet, sincere, and self-sacrificing. The popular film fan magazine Photoplay notes that Bara played the role with “complete success.” “No more of the snake in the parlor, the scorpion among the roses, the tarantula in the bananas,” writes reviewer Julian Johnson of Bara’s performance. “I don’t know of anyone among the film women who would have done better with the role,” he concludes. Unfortunately, modern audiences cannot appreciate Bara’s versatility as an actress. Under Two Flags, like so many other films from the silent era, is lost. Only a few production stills and reviews, like the one in Photoplay, document its plot and reception.
Aside from Bara’s film and Cook’s lecture, there were four other acts on the bill:
The Newsboys’ Sextet, presumably a musical group
“Mlle. Elimna [sic] & Co., who juggle pianos and furniture with amazing ease”
Weber and White, “classy dancers”
“The four Musical Kleisos, who present a composite of catchy music and Charlie Chaplin comedy”
The second act caught my attention, so I decided to see what I could learn about them. After a bit of trial-and-error searching, I figured out that the Utica Observer misprinted the act’s name. Its star was Elmina, her performing partner was alternately Gregoire or Gregory, and they received good reviews in the New York papers. The New-York Tribune of August 31, 1913 calls them “versatile artists” and identifies them as “the Furniture Tusslers.”
Tumblr media
The New York Clipper of October 10, 1917 provides the following description of Mlle. Elmina and Gregory’s act—an impressive spectacle. I can see why they captivated audiences night after night.
Tumblr media
The people of Utica, like the people of Manhattan, loved the “Furniture Tusslers,” who “might be described as a riot,” per the Observer of November 8. “One of the men trips along the aisle among the audience with a heavy leather couch balanced on his forehead. Seeing is believing.” The paper called all of the acts “entertaining and highly diverting.”
Did Cook have a chance, once his lecture was finished, to slip into the audience and take in the music, dancing, slapstick comedy, and feats of strength? What did he think of Elmina on her ladder, and Gregory with his sofa traipsing up the aisle? When he left town after the final performance, was he humming the “catchy music” of the four Kleisos? I hope he did, and he was, and that he took heart from the warm reception he received in Utica. After the headache of his disputed North Pole claim and the mudslinging that followed, I’ll bet he needed a good laugh as he continued to fight his fight.
Whether or not the vaudeville audiences believed Cook’s version of events, they were enthralled by his story, as are we all, 108 years almost to the day when he took to the stage in Utica.

You guys. I had a dream that one of you drew an attack on Dr Windows. As a bara Grinch. Squishing her nude boobs at the camera. I was confused but in awe because it was in a beautiful style. Im kinda sad now that I woke up and its not real.
