Crackpot theory but maybe Bill didn’t purposely burn down his dimension. Time and time again he’s an unreliable narrator, often playing up himself and overexaggerating his stories, so this is one of them.

Bill definitely has trauma from destroying his dimension, but maybe it’s more of a blacked out trauma because it was inflicted upon him and not the other way around. Maybe he HAD to burn down his dimension to save them from something. Maybe the monster he talked about was real. The only way to cope with what he did was to own it. I don’t think the Great Gatsby story tie in was random.

Gatsby himself was known to have many identities, which grew more wild and sporadic with every retelling. He already had unreliable sources from the beginning. He was charming, threw lavish parties, dressed formally at all occasions. But in the end we find out that Gatsby was poor and lead a sardonic life, wishing to be with Daisy after his time at war. In the end, Gatsby took the hit for Daisy’s murder and paid the ultimate price.

Maybe that’s what Bill had to do. There was an actual monster, and it would destroy his dimension if he didn’t stop it. He started a fire to kill it, but it kept burning until there was nothing left. Afterwards, he exaggerated the arson, own it like HE did it and not because he was forced to. Bill’s coping was to throw crazy parties with his henchmaniacs, ramp up his chaos to hide how broken he was from his dimension burning. He misses his mom, he wants to go home.

i think about kendall knight and the hockey teams he wants to play centre for and i am so intrigued.

one is the minnesota wild, his hometown team. a team that symbolizes home, staying close to his mother and sister (and going based on the popular fan headcanons, potentially his dad as well) and his childhood dream of being a professional hockey player in a space where he most likely feels safe.

on the other hand, he wants to play for the maple leafs. now, putting my personal beef with toronto aside, i find it interesting that an American hockey player not only wants to play for a Canadian team, but knows about one. yes, obviously Canada’s hockey culture is… insane. but Americans, as well documented often don’t know jackshit about Canada. or any other country for that matter.

there’s also the fact that st paul is 831.1 million miles away from toronto. realistically, prior to season one of btr, has kendall ever left st paul? maybe for a hockey tournament, but there’s no way he’s spent significant time away from home.

i think it’s interesting that he would even consider moving that far away from home. especially considering his mom is a single mom and his dad as far as we know is out of the picture. it’s not common for children of single parents to move far away from their parents especially when they have younger siblings.

okay @thebirdandhersong your post about Lockwood & co / Agent Carter trios really got me thinking…because Peggy is like Lucy because they both have that “shut up and use some common sense” thing and that “stop being so reckless, don’t throw your life away” thing going on BUT Peggy is like Lockwood in that she doesn’t practice what she preaches - she continues to work alone and be reckless with her own life, and she’s bitter about her aloneness sometimes but afraid of letting people in because she and they might both get hurt. Sousa and Jarvis (and Angie) steady and ground Peggy and get her to open up to life and love (like George and Lucy [and Flo] do for Lockwood).

Also having vague thoughts about Sousa “I’m with you to the end, Peggy” and Lockwood “You know I’d die for you”…..!!!

I am listening to the song lacy again and I really wish I could put into words the way that this song makes me feel abt Nadine. I think there are plenty of ways to read it but. When it comes to Nadine I can’t help but think about how their mother desperately wanted them to be a super feminine girl, and growing up whenever they would have crushes on girls like that, they couldn’t help but see what the world wanted from them in that girl. So the crushes hurt in a way they couldn’t quite describe

it pains me being a naturally very empathetic person. Whenever I feel some type of way (rightfully valid) if someone feels bad (sad, anger etc) about what they’ve done to me or said to me or did to me I FEEL BAD AFTERWARDS for making them feel that way because of HOW I feel. Like being deeply understanding of how I feel and how YOU feel it’s too much and conflicts/contradicts one another and ugh I hate being this way so much. I hate empathy. I hate that other people lack empathy. I hate being misunderstood. I always Look at the bigger picture of things. All perspectives instead of my own. I always look at others shoes and as a bonus look at the shoes I’m standing in before I decide on where I stand. I wish others did the same.

I think that one thing people fail to understand is that unsolicited literary criticism coming from an online stranger who is reading with no knowledge of what the authors intended goal is, is not going to be received the same as say: the authors beta reader or friends who know what the authors intended goal and has the sufficient knowledge and input to help the author reach that desired outcome.

"But I'm only trying to be helpful" How do I know you have the knowledge and literary skill for you to be able to actaully do that when we don't know each other and you are essentially a stranger to me? Are you applying this criticism based out of personal biased experience and desire to see the story or characterization be driven in another direction or tweaked, or do you know the author's intentions for the character? If the story is incomplete, are you basing your criticism of a character on the incomplete narration with only partial information available of them or are you building up a report until the story's completion? Did the author provide you with the information needed to make a fully informed criticism?

Have you discussed with the author what their plans are or are you assuming them based off the narration, especially if the narration is proven or implied to be unreliable or missing key points of the plot? Are you unbiased enough to help them reach their desired outcome for the characters and story regardless of your personal feelings towards the characters/antagonists and setting? Can you handle being told your specific input isn't wanted because you're a reader and/or have no written anything relating to their genre or topic? Do you understand and respect that the author's personal experiences might influence their writing and make it different than how you would have done it personally? Do you understand if an author only wants input from a specific demographic relating to their story?

If it's for fanfiction or other hobby media, are you holding a free hobby to a professional standard? Are you trying to give criticism because you feel like the author has produced 'subpar job performance' of their fic? Are you viewing their work as a personal intimate outlet or something that must conform with mass media? Are you applying rules and guidelines when the fic is shared for simple sharing sake? Is your criticism worded appropriately and focused on the parts where the author has requested input on rather than a general dismissal and or disapproval?

Have you put yourself in a place where you assumed you have the input needed for the story to evolve better, or have you asked what the author needs and what they're having trouble with? Can you handle having your criticism rejected if the author decides their story doesn't need the change and not take it as a personal offense against your character? Are you crossing that boundary because you think you are doing the author a favor? Are you trying to be helpful, or do you just want to be?

I think sometimes when people hear authors go 'please don't give me unsolicited writing advice or criticism' they automatically chalk it up to 'this author doesn't want ANY constructive feedback on their stuff at all' and not "i already have trusted individuals who will help me with my writing goals and- hey i don't know you like that, please stop acting so overly familiar with me'

Okay, this might sound completely incoherent, b u t-

This is like one of those incredibly niche, you've literally never heard or seen of this before, paperback book in this mysterious bookstore that sells all sorts of hand-me-down and forgotten books. You've never even heard of the author or the story before, but picking up the book, you are greeted with its absolutely gorgeous cover. Its cover is smooth, but almost has a grainy feel, as if it hasn't been touched in ages. They say never judge a book by its cover, but this cover is incredibly captivating. What could it hurt to buy it? It's only a coin or two after all...

Long story short, you find this long forgotten book in a thrift store from an author you've never heard of before and it ends up being the best freaking book you've read in a long time-

lived my whole life in guilt bc i thought i was responsible for people's feelings. newly realizing that other people are responsible for their feelings and reactions, even if they make it seem like i'm the problem. a lot of the time it really has to do w them and their own emotional regulation. i can't keep thinking i'm not allowed to have space bc of other people's insecurities. like i literally refuse to dim myself. other people are responsible for their feelings just as i'm responsible for mine.

Was looking at refs and since Viktor has two different leg braces I was wondering, do we think he wears them simultaneously?? The refs don't perfectly line up perspective-wise so it's hard to tell but parts of the one he wears during the Hexcore scenes look like they could maybe line up with the brace that he wears over his clothes, but also some parts really don't and look like they'd be super uncomfy. Also HOW does he take these on and off. Experts weigh in

I'm gonna go on the romantic direction because I am far too tired to think any deeper than that

anyway definitely when I fell for my partner. I fell and kinda just layed there and have been for the past 3or so years. it's very cool and fun to me because it's just a . weird and complicated and fun emotion. but they're also kinda all like that so?? I dunno if there's really a why except 4the fact that . they're awesome as all hell.
