new sw shows and seasons coming out and girl i am so behind and have no motivation to watch anything bc its So Much. despite wanting to be in the know and having faith the content is alright, it's too much. good lord, im excited, but also screw disney for putting me in this position of sensory overload bc of their neverending capitalist entertainment ventures. don't make sw like marvel and require a hundred layers of context from hours upon hours of tv and film. don't make it a chore or a game of catch up. please please don't do that.

kill the narrative that The Acolyte didnt perform well compared to other Disney shows. The other shows were based on established characters and already had a dedicated fanbase and audience to start with. In contrast The Acolyte introduced us to a completely new era of Star Wars in live action with new original characters. And against all odds, it still performed well. Don’t be misled - The Acolyte is not a failed project. The real failure lies in Disney's reluctance to take risks and allow original ideas to flourish.

#seriously... this episode bridged the clone wars gap for me in a way that i didn't think would ever happen! #looks JUST like tcw!anakin... and i have always thought that tcw!anakin looks absolutely nothing like actual anakin! #so to see hayden dress in this clone wars outfit - and looking AMAZING in that outfit - just really strengthens the oneness of the story #they ARE the same character and hayden is standing next to ahsoka with his hair short and his early-clone wars armor on #iconic (via @secondearthling)

Maybe everyone will finally understand what I've been trying to say all this time, that Prequels-Anakin and TCW-Anakin aren't totally irreconcilable, they're just different facets of the same character seen from different angles and at different stages of his life. (And obviously portrayed via different mediums/genres.) TCW Anakin is 'General Skywalker', the Hero With No Fear, in his prime. He's poised between youthfully awkward padawan Anakin in AotC and 'pushed-to-the-brink-of-falling-to-the-Dark Side' Anakin in RotS. The difference may have confounded some viewers, but Clone Wars-era Anakin is SUPPOSED to have more swagger and confidence than he did in AotC. Also, while TCW Anakin's animated appearance doesn’t really resemble Hayden, he was nonetheless very obviously designed to look like TPM's 'little Ani'. So I never thought of TCW Anakin as 'not' Anakin, just as an AU version that grew up to look more like Jake Lloyd Ani than Hayden Ani. But of course, it IS neat to see Hayden embody that version of Anakin as well. I've done my own artistic interpretations of 'realistic' TCW Anakin over the years, so it's nice that others are seeing the potential I've always seen at long last.

The clones in Star Wars absolutely astound me, especially in the clone wars like,

501st: Our general is a war criminal maniac with a teenager at his heel learning to do the same things by example. And we love them.

212th: Our general is in love with a Duchess and we’re actively in feud with a four armed lightsaber wielding cyborg with lung cancer. One time we fucking punched him and lived.

104th: I would give my entire right arm to see the General Plo never comes to harm or anything ever happens to him. Wolffe: I gave my eye but still, same sentiment.

327th: Our commander and general are fucking. Like. Legitimately. Bly: Yeah dude. Ayala Secura: Yeah dude.

The Bad Batch: This hologram thing keeps telling us that we should stop right now and follow protocol instead of commuting more war crimes. If anyone but Tech knows what war crimes are they simply do not care enough to stop.

Long live the fucking republic man. How the hell they won battles is a mystery.

Exactly. And it’s soooooo disingenuous that people act like Disney just randomly gave Hayden a chance out of the goodness of their hearts, which is just….lol, NOT how Disney works. They only brought him back BECAUSE they know he has a massive draw these days! And since tumblr has a five second attention span, may I remind everyone that Disney originally tried to erase Anakin Skywalker's character from their version of Star Wars and outright ignored the importance of his entire storyline via their shitty sequels. All because DISNEY believed and perpetuated the lie the Prequels were universally hated. And so Hayden’s increase in popularity comes not because of Disney, but in spite of them. Because after Disney's shitty sequels, many SW fans both new and old sought out the earlier Lucas-era material and discovered that oh, the Prequels and Hayden's performance in them are good, actually. Hayden and the Prequels were already gaining even more notice and appreciation back in 2017 when Hayden received a standing ovation at a SW celebration event and when r/prequelsmemes was formed that same year. It is considered a turning point after which no one could say that the Prequels were universally hated anymore. And if Disney has any bearing on that at all, it's solely because the shittiness of their Sequels caused people to realise just how good the Prequels really were.

I am fully on board for Hayden Christensen finally getting the recognition he deserves for his portrayal of Anakin but also everyone saying they couldn't appreciate his performace back when the prequels came out idk that sounds like a skill issue, some of us always loved him.

I can’t help but feel devastated for Amandla Stenberg & Manny Jacinto as well. They have so clearly voiced their support and love for these characters and story. Amandla especially has said time and time again how she is such a huge Star Wars fan. You can tell it wasn’t just a job for them. They’re fans, too.
