So how about that third avatar series, y'all?
So this is a digital remaster of this fan art that I did 3 years ago, when awesome friend @zombiecats707â and I brainstormed a third avatar series during the manic pandemic induced summer of 2020. We came up with a lot of ideas, character concepts, backstories, etc., but we got busy with life and with college so we never followed through on that. However, in the months since I've graduated college, I thought it would be nice to revisit this old piece and freshen up some of the craftsmanship, since, wow, it was quite bad beforehand. I'm glad to say I'm much more proud of the work I did on this in the 3 years since that summer.
So, the story? Read below
Basic idea is that in the years since Korra's eventual death, it's like a Dalai Lama situation. The United Republic or the Earth Republic would become authoritarian to some degree and want their own state-sponsored Avatar for their own personal gain and choose a successor that would go along with their political goals. They announce a false avatar that they've created by means of secret technologic advancement and spiritual manipulation, while the real avatar, a young teen by the name of Huang Guo-Sun, tries to hide the fact that he's the real avatar out of fear of being pursued by the government. This fact does come out eventually and he and his team avatar are on the run from the government and the "anti-team avatar."
Pictured here is Avatar Huang and his Team Avatar: Princess Kaila, the eldest daughter of the Fire nation royal family; Junje Soo, Huang's childhood best friend and earth-nation Airbender, part of a big family of mechanics; Lian Bunmi, his other childhood friend and martial arts prodigy; Tartok Lucassey, a runaway teenage delinquent who acts as the streetsmart "dad" of the group; Lastly, we have Firelord Taozun, the newly crowned ruler of the fire nation after the assassination of his mother; and President Kaemon Ran, leader of a conservative, imperialistic United Republic in what would be an 80s/90s timeline.
We had come up with other plot lines and ideas for a whole series, things like how the spirt laser canons in LOK could be applied to new types of weapons, new types of bending like gravity bending and plasma bending, a journey to the spiritual center of the avatar world, etc. But hey, world building is hard and this was during 2020, so we eventually ran out of steam when things got busy. However, if any of you would like to see more of this and what we worked on, please let me know and I'll try and share what I can when I'm able to! Hope you like this piece!

i've been getting into making miniatures and i'm mainly working at 1/24th scale/half scale so i'm designing the furniture for this small apartment build i'm doing and i mainly cut the shapes out of paper board, layer, glue them together, etc into the right shapes and dimensions but i find it really hard to get really smooth and even shapes by drafting the pieces with pencil and ruler & my mom has a cricut cause shes obsessed with adding custom labels to everything so i'm trying to teach myself how to use sketchup and other software to draft the shapes digitally to scale and cut them out of heavyweight paper with the cricut as a cheaper way of like. laser cutting or 3d printing the pieces essentially (bc i don't have laser cutter or 3d printer money lmfao) and all that is just to say. i really really love sketchup
#i have many skills but drafting to scale by hand is definitely not one of them#the times i had to do that in uni went REALLY bad w the exception of clothing pattern drafting#and thats just bc fabric is more forgiving and i draft everything oversized bc thats my style LOL

hello everyone I am here with some Kirby-inspired Digifakes I made with help from @arancia-con-un-coltello. I think I did really good at mimicking the Digimon artstyle!
reference book entries below the readmore
Kabimon~"A Fairy Digimon that's always smiling. It has a sunny disposition, and brings cheer where it goes. It becomes violent when hungry, but will always return to its pleasant demeanor upon eating. Despite its cute appearance, it conceals a devastating strength. Its Special Move, Copy, allows it to catch enemy attacks in its mouth and to fire them back."
Terminamon Core~"A fearsome Demon Digimon that is the true form of Terminamon. Though small, especially in comparison to its projected body, it possesses an unimaginable power of destruction. It is said that should Terminamon ever be released, the universe would come to an end. Its Special Moves include a dark wave that drives creatures to madness (Animosity Void), and a piercing laser that annihilates anything in its path (Ashes to Ashes)."
Waddlemon~"A hardy species of Digimon. They can be found throughout every corner of the Digital World, commonly clustering around strong Digimon. They will gather food for said stronger Digimon in exchange for protection. Its Special Move is Overload Swarm, where the full pack of Waddlemon all rush an enemy at once."
ParaWaddlemon~"A variant species of Waddlemon that took up a weapon. It defends its pack in lieu of a leader. Its Special Move, Parasol Drill, can crack the armor of tough enemies and break down walls to allow the pack to pass through."
Doomon~"A solitary species of Digimon. It's theorized to be related to Waddlemon, but it's uncertain how much truth is in this statement. It does not travel with Waddlemon packs, instead striking off on its own or with other Virus Digimon. Its Special Move is Cycle Beam, where it shoots a blast of light from its eye."
EmperorPenmon~"A Bird Digimon that lives in the frigid tundras of the Digital World. It is a fierce defender of its friends, and is thus a popular choice of ruler for Waddlemon packs. It swings its massive hammer at any who attempt to harm its pack, but is very easy to trick. Its Special Move is bringing its hammer down on the enemy (Royal Payback). This move is particularly effective when EmperorPenmon is enraged."
MaskedPenmon~"A Bird Digimon from the frozen tundra, donning a mask of metal and stone. It forms a hammer with sturdy stones, and then freezes it together with aid from Hexeblaumon. It laughs boisterously as it sends enemies flying with its hammer, but becomes vicious if its allies are harmed. Its Special Move is Rocket Hammer, where it slams its hammer into an enemy with all its strength."
Metamon~"A Warrior Digimon with bladed wings. It is an aerial fighter, who uses its sharp boots and blades to slice enemies. However, it is also honorable, and refrains from dirty tricks and death blows when able to. Its Special Move is a dual slash with its wings, which fire waves of dark energy (Crescent Slash)."
MechaKnightmon~"A Cyborg Digimon that's been modified by an outside source. It loathes its modifications, and sometimes can even be seen attempting to claw them off outside of battle. Despite this, it shows no qualms with taking advantage of these weapons in fights, making it a vicious fighter. Its Special Moves include blasting enemies with its electric arm cannons (Galaxia Beam), and ripping the enemy apart with its blades and claws (Crescent Frenzy)."
#kirby#Digimon#Kirby digifakes#fan Digimon#?#IDK for sure what all to tag this as#I'm exceedingly happy about how Bandanamon turned out#and yes Metamon has a virus variant with DMK's colors#anyway Terminamon Core's thing is it's like Lucemon Satan Mode and Moon Milleniumon#big scary outer form and then a smaller form hidden inside

More than two miles long and 1,142 feet tall, Uluru, the red sandstone rock formation in Australiaâs Northern Territory, wows travelers during the day.
But now, a new night spectacle Wintjiri Wiru illuminates the darkness adjacent to the monolith in a way that reveals Indigenous culture while dazzling with high-tech sound and lights.
âHumans are drawn to lightâjust think of how compelling sunsets are,â says Melbourne light artist Bruce Ramus, who designed the work in collaboration with the local Anangu people and Voyages Indigenous Tourism.
Wintjiri Wiru is just the latest offeringâand newest technology â in the tradition of son et lumière (sound and light) shows, grand public spectacles projected on to (or close to) historic buildings and natural wonders.
These mash-ups of pageantry, culture, and art are experiencing a boom fueled by digital advances and tourist sites looking to attract visitors after dark.
Hereâs where to see the latest shows, plus why visitors love these âvirtual campfires.â
How did sound and light shows start?
Paul Robert-Houdin created the first sound and light show in 1952 at Franceâs Château de Chambord.
Music and narration played while slide projectors splashed colored lights on the 16th-century palace.
âWe had the feeling that a new way of discovering and understanding monumental heritage was perhaps being born,â one observer wrote in Le Figaro newspaper.
The concept was a hit.
âStanding in the dark and being immersed in sounds and images creates a sense of enchantment,â says Jane Lovell, a professor of tourism at Canterbury Christ Church University in England.
In the following decades, other storied sites harnessed that magic, such as the Red Fort in Delhi, India, and Independence Hall in Philadelphia.
âThere were captive audiences for these attractions, so the efforts were minimalâjust light up these beautiful things that already existed,â says California light show producer Ryan Miziker.
Early technology was expensive and bulky: sofa-sized slide carousels, finicky stereo speakers that malfunctioned in bad weather.
The storytelling, if mostly historically accurate, could be clunky and lecturing.
At Egyptâs Pyramids at Giza, the still-running circa-1961 show features the Sphinx ânarratingâ a lofty spiel about ancient life as murky colored lights wash over the monuments.
youtube
https://youtu.be/anLYLqMyK1I
How tech took over light shows
âSon et lumieres started out as pretty rudimentary thingsâa castle would be lit up and a soundtrack would say, âthis tower was built in 1592,ââ says Ross Ashton of Londonâs Projection Studio, which designs extravaganzas for attractions from Welsh castles to Indian fortresses.
But by the 1990s, innovations in video, lasers, and audio meant creators could screen riveting, mind-bending shows.
âDigital video changed everything,â says Miziker.
âWe had software to do 3-D mapping, which takes a round object like a globe and flattens it, or wraps any structure in overlapping, blending geometry.â
Sound evolved, too.
âBells, spoken voices from different directions, or a fireball rolling, you can layer sound up, so it feels like a tapestry,â says Projection Studioâs sound artist Karen Monid.
Todayâs sound and light shows are like mini action movies screened on historic buildings or natural wonders.
San Antonioâs The Saga wraps the 18th-century San Fernando Cathedral in sound effects (mariachi ballads, cannon blasts) and painterly images (folk dancers, renderings of the Alamo) to tell the story of the Texas city.
In Jerusalem, Israel, the ancient Tower of David has two night shows, one on city history and the other about the biblical shepherd-turned-ruler that gave the site its name.
Wintjiri Wiru harnesses LED lights, lasers, sound, and 1,100 drones to recount a legend from the Anangu, who consider Uluru sacred.
The show depicts mala (wallaby-rabbit) beings battling a gigantic devil dog spirit.
âCombine light with soundâin this case Anangu songs and other effectsâand itâs like the desert is speaking,â says Ramus.
Other projects are more abstract, such as the new Aura Invalides show at Les Invalides in Paris, which fills the grand interiors of the historic military monument with surreal rays of colored light and outlines architectural elements in laser graffiti.
âPeople move around within the building, making it more like a 360-degree immersion than something didactical,â says Manon McHugh, a spokesperson for Moment Factory, the studio that created the show.
Why travelers love spectacles
Experts think people are drawn to these shows for their sense of wonder and spectacle.
âSound and light shows are like fireworksâitâs impossible to look away,â says Miziker.
"Since audiences are sitting in the dark, thereâs cognitive dissonance, with the atmosphere almost becoming its own entity,â says Lovell.
youtube
https://youtu.be/FV3XdOda3zM
Plus, in this age of Instagram, sound and light spectacles make ideal selfie backdrops or video ops.
âWhen Moment Factory started doing shows, we didnât want people to have their phones out,â says McHugh.
Now, other digital production studios build in elements like photo booths to encourage participants to share their experiences.
How sound and light shows help tourist sites
Sound and light shows can be expensive and time-consuming to design.
(Wintjiri Wiru was developed over several years and cost $10 million.)
But many tourist attractions and cities are willing to shell out.
âThey produce new income streams,â says Ashton. âPeople normally go home at night, but if you sell them a ticket to an illumination, theyâll come back.â
Many sound and light experiences in public, urban spaces â outside cathedrals, on city halls, across skyscrapers â are free, but paid for by cities to give visitors an excuse to stay an extra night.
âWe used to think of tourism as a daytime activity, but there has been this tourist-ification of the night,â says Andrew Smith, a professor of urban experiences at Englandâs University of Westminster.
âNow cities want to attract people and keep them in town. Itâs a commodification of the night, a way to extend economic and cultural activity.â
Studies indicate that these shows might even make city downtowns feel safer. âIt starts to dematerialize the buildings,â says Ramus.
âYou just see the lights, and our cities become transparent. They feel gentler.â

He is extremely intelligent and manipulative, having duped worker drones into believing he was trustworthy in order to gain an advantage over the worker drones and eventually lead to their death. He's also astute enough to ensure that his victims have no way of retaliating against him, as evidenced by his removal of all powerups from World 1-1 and possibly the rest of the world, which may indicate a cowardly side to him if he's willing to remove anything from the vanilla world that can be used against him.

In the realm of civil engineering, the measurement of straight wall quantity holds paramount importance. Whether it's for construction projects, renovations, or assessments, accurate measurements are crucial for ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and structural integrity.
Importance of Accurate Measurement
Accurate measurement of straight wall quantity is indispensable for various reasons. Firstly, it forms the basis for estimating materials required for construction or renovation projects. Whether it's bricks, blocks, or concrete, precise measurements ensure optimal utilization and minimize wastage, consequently reducing costs.
Moreover, accurate measurements contribute to the overall quality and durability of structures. Improper measurements can lead to irregularities, weak points, and potential safety hazards. By ensuring precise measurements, engineers and contractors can uphold industry standards and deliver robust, long-lasting constructions.
Methods of Measurement
Manual Measurement: Traditional methods of measuring straight wall quantity involve manual techniques such as tape measures, rulers, and level instruments. While these methods are time-tested and reliable, they require significant effort and may be prone to human error. However, with careful attention to detail and adherence to standardized procedures, manual measurement remains a viable option for smaller-scale projects.
Digital Measurement Tools: With advancements in technology, digital measurement tools have revolutionized the field of civil engineering. Laser distance meters, digital levels, and CAD software enable precise and efficient measurement of straight wall quantity. These tools offer real-time accuracy, streamline the measurement process, and minimize the margin of error.

Best Technology As-Built Drawings Through 3D Laser Scanning
Introduction:
Precision and accuracy are essential in the dynamic field of building. As-built drawings, which show a structure as it really is after construction, provide the basis of project documentation. Nevertheless, precise measurements and minute details are sometimes missed by conventional techniques for producing these drawings. This is where the revolutionary power of 3D laser scanning comes into play, transforming the once labor-intensive and highly accurate process of making as-built drawings.
The Conventional Challenges of As-Built Drawings:
It's critical to acknowledge the limitations of conventional methods before delving into the benefits of 3D laser scanning. Historically, levels, tape measures, and rulers have been used as manual measurement instruments while creating as-built drawings. These methods are labour-intensive and inherently prone to human error, even though they have been the standard for many years. Furthermore, they frequently fall short of faithfully capturing the numerous intricacies and complicated geometries of contemporary architecture.
Introducing 3D Laser Scanning: A Departure from the As-Built Documentation Model
Innovative technologies such as 3D laser scanning can solve the drawbacks of conventional documentation techniques. Scanners create precise and incredibly detailed three-dimensional (3D) models of environments and buildings by sweeping laser beams across millions of data points in a couple of minutes. This digital duplicate provides a thorough basis for creating accurate as-built drawings.
As-built documentation benefits from 3D laser scanning: Â Â
1. Haste and Effectiveness:
As opposed to traditional measurement methods, which might take weeks or even months to complete, 3D laser scanning expedites the documentation process significantly. A single scan session may yield a large amount of data, which reduces the amount of time needed for data processing and gathering.
2. Accuracy and Exactness
3D laser scanning provides unprecedented precision. Scanners ensure that as-built drawings accurately depict the site by gathering millions of data points with sub-millimeter accuracy, giving a comprehensive picture of the structure's measurements.
3. Extensive Data Acquisition:
3D laser scanning captures surface textures, color, and material properties in addition to geometric data. This large dataset helps architects, engineers, and construction professionals make informed judgments throughout the design, remodeling, or retrofitting procedures.
4. Minimal Interruptions:
Owing to its non-invasive nature and remote operation, 3D laser scanning reduces interference with ongoing building projects. This makes it possible to smoothly include scanning tasks into the project schedule without running into any hiccups or delays.
The Procedure: As-Built Drawing to Scan:
Several crucial phases are involved in producing as-built drawings from 3D laser scans:
1. Data Acquisition: A 3D laser scanner at the location uses laser beams and surface reflection measurements to collect millions of data points.
2. Point Cloud Processing: By processing the raw scan data, a three-dimensional digital depiction of the scanned environment made up of millions of individual points is produced.
3. Model Creation: Using specialized software, the point cloud is transformed into a digital three-dimensional model of the structure that faithfully captures its contours and features.
4. Drawing Generation: Lastly, the 3D model is used to create as-built drawings, which combine dimensions, annotations, and other pertinent data to produce an extensive documentation bundle.
Case Studies: Use in the Actual World
1. Remodeling Initiatives:
3D laser scanning has proven to be quite beneficial for tasks involving rehabilitation. To design enhancements that seamlessly integrate with the current structures, accurate as-built documentation is essential. Scanners make renovations easier by taking exact dimensions and information, which reduces mistakes and rework.
 2. Historical Preservation: 3D laser scanning makes it possible to digitally preserve architectural history in the field of historical preservation. By capturing intricate 3D representations of old buildings, scanners reduce the need for physical intervention while facilitating thorough documentation and study.
Conclusion:
By providing unparalleled speed, accuracy, and efficiency, RVTCAD 3D laser scanning technology is a paradigm shift in the production of as-built drawings. Construction industry experts may reduce errors, expedite the documentation process, and make well-informed decisions at every stage of the project by utilizing this cutting-edge technology. With 3D laser scanning leading the way, the construction sector is embracing digital innovation and changing the way we record, examine, and comprehend constructed surroundings.

In a realm not dissimilar to the ancient days of Earth, where sentient felines ruled with a paw of iron, the Great Overthrow had passed into legend. It was a time before peace, when the Canine Constellation sought to dethrone the Feline Empire, a period mirrored by the violent Overthrow of the Roman monarchy on ancient Terra.
The most feared of the feline rulers was Empress Secundina, whose gaze was as penetrating as the neutron lasers guarding her star fortress. Born with iridescent purple eyes, a gift from the radioactive mists of the Nebulae Nursery, she possessed the power to see beyond the mere fabric of reality.
Secundina, draped in a fabric woven from the threads of interstellar spider silk, adorned with a collar of moon-metal that was said to be forged in the dying breath of a supernova, commanded respect and fear. Her advisers were the brightest minds abducted from a thousand worlds, yet none dared to challenge her rule, for she held the secrets of the ancient monarchies within her encoded DNA.
Then came the fateful alignment of the stars, as foretold by the Prophecy of Whiskers, signaling the coming of a challenger. It was the enigmatic wanderer known as the Tabby Tactician, wearing a disguise of common trade-route fabrics, beneath which lay a mind as strategic as the greatest generals of the bygone human era.
The Tactician moved silently among the alleyways of the space stations, whispering of democracy and equality, evoking memories of the Earth's Roman Senate and the overthrow of kings. Unrest stirred among the populace, a mixture of lesser felines and other species, weary of the empress's rigid regime.
As the two powers inevitably collided, it was not through the brute force of claw and fang but through the careful placement of pawns and knights in a game more complex than tri-dimensional chess. It was a battle of wits, of technology against tradition, of innovation against inheritance.
The conflict culminated not in battle, but in a coup as silent as the vacuum of space. In the grand chamber of the fortress, as the empress gazed upon her domain through the enormous viewports, the Tactician presented evidence of Secundina's lineage â a fabricated royal line, engineered in the ancient labs to mimic the long-gone Roman kings of Earth.
Outraged and shamed before her court, Secundina's rule crumbled. Yet, as she surrendered her throne, she activated a hidden mechanism, a fail-safe, flinging both her and the Tactician into the temporal streams of space-time.
They emerged not as rulers but as myths, whispered about in the starways, tales told to kits and pups alike. The empire reformed into a senate, guiding the galaxy towards an age of enlightenment and prosperity reminiscent of the Roman Republic's best days.
Empress Secundina and the Tabby Tactician, no longer adversaries but united in legend, became symbols of a past that must be remembered, never repeated, their images immortalized in holograms that sparked with the energy of the stories they had forged.

i can't stop fucking thinking about this
one press of a button to abandon all biological limitations - hell, to abandon biology itself. to become a six-armed cybernetic goddess, powered by technology far beyond its time, stronger and faster and more agile than any human could ever hope to be. to reach into the digital world and make it an extension of myself, to merge human creativity with the power of a supercomputer and operate on levels we can't conceive.
god, even just day to day life would be so fun. i wouldn't need to eat or sleep - maybe drink some water every now and then, but that's it. i would be free to devote myself to any cause or hobby i wanted. i could master any new skill with ease. i could help people out in ways only i could. i could put my fists through six nazis' skulls at once. i could individually hug three people at once. i could hold someone with four hands to properly support their back for as long as i wanted, and still have two free hands to do things with. i would be able to bang out huge, sprawling yet laser-focused games about whatever i want within days. i could play all three dark souls games at the same time.
i could modify myself. i could replicate myself. i could turn every computer on the internet into another one of my appendages and spread my bodies across the world. i would have eyes on everyone, everything, everywhere. i would be able to take humanity any direction i wanted. i could be a ruler. i could be a god.
or i could go the other way. reverse engineer my mind, figure out how everything works and how to map a human brain to it, and offer everyone the same gifts i was given. what would everyone else do with this newfound power? with no more biological needs to be controlled, what would give rulers the power to rule? how would society reorganize itself? and the humans that get left behind, what happens to them? would they be treated as people? as animals? as tools without a use?
how would we change with superhuman intelligence? who would we become? there's tons of sci-fi on the matter, but imagine being there to see if happen for yourself. to be a part of it. how could you pass up that chance? and even if I decided to lay low - not fucking likely, but still - I would be... i would be so so so goddamn happy. fuck, even just the option to pick someone up, give someone a six-armed hug, and then carry them to a couch and continue to cuddle with them as I play a game or something sounds like a dream come true.
let me abandon my flesh. let me ascend. GIVE ME THAT FUCKING BUTTON.
WILL YOU PRESS THE BUTTON
#my body is shitty and uncooperative#my brain is always fogged up and overwhelmed#my hrt is barely doing anything after nearly two years#i want to be free#give me the button
