If your activism for diabetics stops as soon as you have to include type 2 diabetics, then not only is your "activism" ableist and almost certainly fatphobic, your efforts are also useless. You will never improve how society treats diabetic people if you only care about the diabetic people who are viewed more favorably in this fatphobic, ableist, and dieting-obsessed world.

Granted, I probably do encounter more of that kind of thing, spending some time around online diabetic spaces. Which you can unfortunately guarantee are going to be chock full of folks who have too often been actively encouraged to develop complicated relationships with food, at best. (Not going off again on that right now.)
But, I just get so damned tired of people pushing "intermittent fasting" and that sort of shit.
Meanwhile, my "food is hard" ass is over here often having to work pretty hard to stay OFF of the one meal a day plan. (That's been a problem again lately.) Sure, I will occasionally grab a little snack along the way if I think to, or actually register some hunger signals. But, it works out to about the same thing unintentionally.
And yeah, I used to pull this shit more deliberately--harnessing those shitty neuroweird superpowers of getting caught up doing stuff and forgetting to eat plus trouble registering some body signals, and putting them to use toward some blatantly anorexic ends! Spent too many years mainly eating a what could just about pass for a vaguely normal supper with other people, and that was sometimes it.
I persist in doubting that this kind of eating pattern is likely to be great for much of anyone! Either physically or mentally. Really have to question your goals if that does get you where you want to be.
I'll just be over here trying to keep myself fed well enough to stay away from overt malnutrition. While also keeping those same old brainweasels beaten back who have kept screeching at me for decades now to insist that NOT taking in adequate nutrition is much better, actually. They can come up with all sorts of dubious explanations as to why this must be, too.

I despise people who try to argue that diets are Good Actually bc they create 'more options' for disabled people who have to be restrictive with their food, as if diety products haven't time and time again cut corners and lied about the ingredients they have and actually fucking killed disabled people from it. Like I'm diabetic and avoid carbs in snacks because I don't want to give myself insulin for them and the amount of times I've had a supposedly carb free 'keto' food just to have my blood sugar spike afterwards is fucking insane especially when you consider I've only been diagnosed as diabetic and monitoring my blood sugar for 5 weeks.
This isn't even getting into people dealing with issues like Celiac who get fucked over by false labeling of gluten free stuff so often

The struggle of trying to lose weight as a type 1 diabetic.
Me: For lunch I will have yogurt with strawberries.
Body: The fuck you will!
Bloodsugar: Help! I've fallen and I can't get up!

Here's some tips for some dumbass people, if someone asks for an alternative version of a food or drink (vegan food or diet drinks) DON'T GIVE THEM THE OPPOSITE! "Oh but they're trying to lose weight or something! Like some white teenage girls-" hey, uh yeah allergies and religion... And diabetes exists y'know AND just give them what they want?? Don't be a dick to vegans dude?? How about that?? You either hurt someone's feelings cause you made them lose their trust for you or they'll be sent to the hospital, BOTH are bad.

Funny little headcanon for Jace and sorcerers in general:
a side effect of having magic as an innate source in your body is that sorcerers need a lot of extra calories to act as fuel for the magic or otherwise magic will start burning other areas.
Jace being a powerful sorcerer is a good example of this, only thing is he’s terrible at sitting down and actually remembering to eat a proper meal, he’s also one of those people who just doesn’t like to eat a lot in one go.
As a result Jace is CONSTANTLY snacking, like they’ll be having an important meeting with the rest of the staff and Jace just randomly halfway through pulls out a yogurt and banana.
Or a pupil will stop to ask him something in the hall only to realise that jace is halfway through a packet of pistachios.
He keeps an entire shelf and a mini fridge in his office stocked with a selection of his favourite foods and it’s a 50/50 shot wether you can walk into their and find him eating.
And sure it’s a bit weird but this is aguefort and it’s hardly the weirdest quirk a teacher has so everyone just shrugs it off as a strange Jace thing.
Also pretty much every sorcerer student has at least once felt faint only for Jace to suddenly appear with a cookie and juice telling them to sit down for a bit, they’re then given a talk on low mana and blood sugar and wow this probably the only time they’ve seen Jace so serious.
-
And since I had to add some starbreaker to this: Jaces eating habits annoy the hell out of Porter, Porter who plans his meals down to the very last calorie and nutritional value and still can’t quite get rid of that gut (it’s muscle anyway ports official art always struck me as someone with more of a strongman build rather than the 6 pack body builder type).
Meanwhile Jace is on his second candy bar of the day, porters definitely not jealous.
Is Jace has definitely accidentally pissed of a number of people by either them talking about diets, trying to lose weight etc and Jace just looking at them blankly completely unable to relate.
Or someone asking what his secret for staying so skinny is and Jace inwardly thinking and how he was too lazy to cook last night and instead ate half a tub of ice cream instead. Xx
grazer jace real. also. brennan lee mulligan coded. he refuses to share his snacks w anyone but if one of his students is on the verge of passing out jace is right there w like an airplane selection of snacks for them to choose from <3 he’s very much an intuitive eater so he’s like. not even confused he lives with porter he knows Why ppl diet n shit but it just doesn’t make sense to him he’s like. let’s get it together guys. why aren’t u eating things u like. why are u actively denying urself pleasure. also hedonist jace real <3
i need porter to talk to senshi (?) from dungeon meshi. getting everyone on the build a bear grind. are we talking about senshi or me. who’s to say.

Another good day.
I've now decided (once again, lol), that I'm focusing my heavy training on lower body.
Two sessions per week. No matter how many times I go back to upper body, I realise I just can't continue because of how easily I bulk up. Ugh.
Anyway, that's fine. I just need to work within my own genetics, and do what's best for me personally.

Isn’t there an insulin shortage? Was it only in America? I am worried about people with diabetes.
there's a shortage in the states that is exacerbating the already high prices:
there was also this, a tiktok weight loss trend leading to a global shortage of medication for type 2 diabetes (it isn't insulin though):
but I can't find anything about an insulin shortage in canada. if anyone can find any information on that, feel free to add it!

Tumblr is NOT the place to be censoring your ed in the tags. You’re not gonna get shadow banned this isn’t fucking tik tok.
STOP WITH THE #@n0r3x!a ☺️ #deathspo😙 BULLSHIT
I’m tired of having to block every new anorexia tag that pops up CUZ YOU GUYS CREATE ABSURD TAGS THAT I CAN NEVER BLOCK and dont add the actual ed tag
If you don’t include the actual ed in your tags so your post can be blocked by people trying to recover, then you’re a piece of shit.
Try getting a journal and log off.
Knock it off

Been on a medically-monitored low carb diet for like a year and a half and my weight did not noticeably change
Doc put me on Ozempic once she finally believed (by the evidence via blood tests) that I was indeed eating as instructed and I've only been on the full dose for a couple of weeks
And suddenly my old jeans fit again
Hmm hmm isn't it funny what happens when my doctor actually fucking listens to me and offers help instead of just telling me I'm not trying hard enough for like, my entire life
