Ximena Bustillo and Sergio Martínez-Beltrán at NPR:
Immigration authorities can now enter schools, healthcare facilities and places of worship to conduct arrests, according to a new policy from the Department of Homeland Security. "Criminals will no longer be able to hide in America's schools and churches to avoid arrest," a DHS spokesperson said in a statement. "The Trump administration will not tie the hands of our brave law enforcement, and instead trusts them to use common sense." The directive, which covers agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection, rescinds guidance from the Biden administration that created "protected areas" that primarily consisted of places where "children gather, disaster or emergency relief sites, and social services establishments." The Biden-era guideline mandated that immigration enforcement operations shouldn't take place  in or near a location that would limit peoples' access to "essential" services or activities. A second directive DHS announced on Tuesday also followed through on one of President Trump's executive orders signed Monday night to "terminate all categorical parole programs that are contrary to the policies of the United States established in my Executive Orders," including the humanitarian parole program for people from Nicaragua, Cuba, Haiti and Venezuela.
The tyrannical Trump Regime revokes protections from sensitive places such as schools, healthcare facilities and places of worship, thereby permitting jackboot ICE/CBP agents to conduct arrests in those places.

The Committee request that the Department of Homeland Security list all of the people who violated the law and are being deported because of their association with terror groups. After some stonewalling, the DHS answered the question: Zero.
Keep in mind that in October, the US declared Samidoun - which has been instrumental in many antisemitic protests - to be a terrorist organization, a fundraising front for the Palestinian Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
Yet even before the designation, there were other reasons to investigate foreign student protesters. Not only does the law say that aliens associated with terrorism are inadmissible to the US, but also "Any immigrant who is or has been a member of or affiliated with the Communist or any other totalitarian party (or subdivision or affiliate thereof), domestic or foreign, is inadmissible."
Most of the major protests have been organized by communist groups like ANSWER (it is linked to the Party for Socialism and Liberation which describes itself as communist), and Samidoun is also linked to many communist groups itself.
In short, if the DHS wanted to protect Jews on campus, it has plenty of ammunition to not only get rid of foreign participants and supporters of antisemitic protests but also to send a message of intolerance for intolerance.

How are we living in 2024 with the future head of the Department of Homeland Security not having ANY fundamental knowledge on Cybersecurity. This is an absolute disgrace. People study their asses off to be in the field.

Trump officials asked over a dozen senior career diplomats to step down, sources say
Here comes the partisan purge as part of the Republican war on good government and expertise..
Remember how W insisting all intelligence briefings should be tailored to what he wanted to hear led to 9/11 being successful? They are planning competent non-partisan people with integrity from our intelligence services so they can do that on a large scale for 47.
On a related note Ratcliffe has basically vowed to do just that at the CIA, which is why 47 picked him. It's also why he wants Kash Patel for the FBI.
He is replacing vetted, competent people with people he didn't bother to vet and is giving them security clearances willy nilly.

The complete incompetence of the ladies of the Secret Service are on full display. One of the agents can’t properly holster her sidearm while another fiddles around with her sunglasses trying to look cool for the crowd.
An assassination attempt was made on former US President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania. It happened when Donald Trump was leading a public meeting before the elections. The bullet grazed past the upper part of Trump’s right ear. Recalling this incident, he said that he heard a whizzing sound and shots and immediately felt the bullet ripping through his skin. The FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) announced that Thomas Mattew Crook is the individual identified in the assassination attempt of the former President.
After this, the security formed a human chain around him and exited the area, but the video caught the panicking situation of the women security of Secret Services deployed in the area. One of the security personnel was panicking and failed to put her gun in the holster while Trump was sitting in his car.

Lauren Aratani at The Guardian:
Kristi Noem secured US Senate confirmation as homeland security secretary on Saturday, putting the South Dakota governor in charge of a sprawling agency that is essential to national security and Donald Trump’s plans to clamp down on illegal immigration during his second presidency. The Senate worked on Saturday as Republicans successfully sought to install the latest member of Trump’s national security team. Defense secretary Pete Hegseth was confirmed in a dramatic tie-breaking vote by JD Vance Friday night, joining the secretary of state, Marco Rubio, and the CIA director, John Ratcliffe. The Senate is scheduled to next vote Monday evening on Scott Bessent’s confirmation as treasury secretary. Republicans unanimously voted to confirm Noem and got support from seven Democrats, including John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, Tim Kaine of Virginia, Andy Kim of New Jersey, Gary Peters of Michigan, Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, Margaret Hassan of New Hampshire and Elissa Slotkin of Michigan. The final vote was 59-34. Democrats – or those caucusing with their party – who did not vote were Angus King of Maine, Jeff Merkley of Oregon, Brian Schatz of Hawaii, Tina Smith of Minnesota, Raphael Warnock of Georgia and Ron Wyden of Oregon, according to the New York Times.
[...] The homeland security secretary oversees US Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Citizenship and Immigration Services. Beyond those agencies, the department is also responsible for securing airline transportation, protecting dignitaries, responding to natural disasters and more. Noem, who held her state’s lone US House seat for eight years before becoming governor in 2019, has risen in the Republican party by tacking closely with Trump. At one point, she was even under consideration to be his running mate. Her political stock took a momentary dip, however, when she released a book last year containing an account of her killing her hunting dog, as well as a false claim that she once met with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Noem does not have any experience in law enforcement but has pledged to faithfully execute the president’s orders and copied his talk of an “invasion” at the US border with Mexico.
Where’s Major and Commander when you need them? Those two doggies should nibble all over the dog-killing South Dakota Governor.
Dog-killer Kristi Noem got confirmed 59-34 in the Senate to head up the DHS.

The Department of Homeland Security is facing a lawsuit after Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas refused to explain why a former spokesperson for the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) was still employed by the department months after The Daily Wire exposed her support for terrorism and extreme anti-Semitism.
Nejwa Ali was hired by the U.S. government to “perform credible fear interviews by reviewing evidence, credibility, and determine admissibility” of asylum-seekers. While working for DHS, her social media consisted largely of a jihad against Jews, posting memes celebrating Hamas terrorists paragliding into a dance festival with guns, writing “F*** Israel, the government, and its military. Are you ready for your downfall?” and sharing videos with captions like “F*** Israel and any Jew that supports Israel,” The Daily Wire revealed October 18.
DHS said it put her on leave after that story, but six months later, she was still being paid, gloating online about her unpaid leave and seeming to suggest that Mayorkas was protecting her. On social media, when somebody commented on her page, “When you do everything you can to get fired but the boss says NO,” she responded, “hilarious, seriously.
The department violated the Freedom of Information Act by refusing to provide documents about Ali in response to a November request, according to a new lawsuit filed by the Center to Advance Security in America (CASA) against DHS.
The FOIA sought “records related to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Adjudication Officer Nejwa Ali and a potential conflict of interest in administering her duties,” exploring whether she ushered in dangerous Palestinians or denied entry to Israelis.
