this is so so important to me and mine, and I'm asking you to Do Something so I'll respect your time and keep it brief

in the UK, if 100k sign a a government petition it will be brought to Parliament and debated. y'all know this country is suffering from some 80s-style bigotry right now, and this is one symptom: almost 200k fuckholes have come together to force the government to discuss whether it is 'appropriate' to tell children that queer people exist. this is a big symbolic victory for them. and i am burning with fury.

please, if you're from the UK, sign this counter-petition so they can at least see how much of a minority they are. simply put, the attempt to put these bastards in their place isn't gathering enough steam. there are barely 2000 more signatures now than there were this morning (27th January 2023), and that isn't enough. i refuse to let these people feel even a moment of victory or satisfaction. please help.

Free Educational Resources for Teachers and Students

With Trump's talk of eliminating the US Department of Education, I want to compile a list of free and accessible materials for students, educators, and continuous learners.

Project Gutenburg has a library of over 70,000 free eBooks and audiobooks, with particular emphasis on those in the Public Domain.

The California Department of Education has compiled a list of Free Educational Resources that were originally meant for distance learning during Covid. I think these are primarily for grades K-12.

Library Finder is a free website that can point you in the direction of your closest local library. Libraries are an amazing resource for literacy programs, community outreach, computer access, and much more.

The University of San Diego has compiled a list of Top 24 Educational Resources for Teachers. Most of these are free, free with ads, or free with an account.

National Geographic has a list of Education Resources on their website. I highly encourage everyone to explore the website on their own time.

PBS has a bunch of different educational resources on their website that you can browse easily by subject and grade level.

Please add more resources if you come across them. This is by no means a comprehensive list.

i just honestly can’t believe any of this. you’re telling me the biggest vote out that people have seen in like a decade and all of them voted for trump. all of them? we saw how he couldn’t feel seats at his own rallies and how kamala literally had to change places for here because THAT many people were showing up. we watched as she held rallies in deep red states and TONS of people showed up. i know how much america hates women, especially women who aren’t white, but you cannot convince me there isn’t some type of foul play happening.

you cannot convince me that something didn’t happen behind the scenes, i refuse to believe it. i know people keep saying that “it isn’t over until it’s over” but at this point it’s pretty fucking over. unless they do a nationwide recount and the democratic party start making demands like the republicans have this whole election, it’s over.

i’m in so much shock right now that i can’t even cry anymore. i am terrified. another four years with someone who is hellbent on becoming a dictator. of destroying not only this country, but others with it. and there’s nothing anybody can do about it. it’s so sickening and i can’t believe that this is what america has succumbed to.
