John gets invited to Terry's for Christmas, and when he gets there not only does he learn that Dennis is joining them, but also that the two of them seem to be hiding some secret from him.

More scene from the interview I really like manily talking about Dennis backstory again
and then based on that, I kind of came up with Dennis's actual backstory, and my idea was that Dennis was orphaned,he was running around with the gang (the mongoose gang) then they turned on him, silver found him took him in and gave him a second chance and basically Dennis was never going to betray silver ever, and he would take care of anybody, who even thought about being disloyal,so he's always been in Terry's employ since the end of Karate Kid 3,silver always kept tabs on Dennis
I really really love the loyalty and how terry just took him in and it was nothing with terry buying Dennis or snake loyalty I love that so much
So if I hc here that terry found Dennis in the rain beat up and picked him up and took him in then what I can do that because it basically confirmed
I really like that Terry has loyal henchmen and they didn’t make Dennis like turn on him and they didn’t make Dennis have like oh yeah I’m going back to this guy because I’m poor no it was because he was always loyal like he was a ride or die
And we never really knew what age terry found Dennis so if I hc here that he found Dennis at like 12 or 13 probably in the 70s or 80s maybe 82 or 81 one of those
I want someone to talk about this with me 🥲 like the loyalty no betrayal and I really like how terry actually has someone finally! that did not turning on him or favoring kreese over him or just on his side for the money or the stuff he can buy them or offer them it because Terry saved him when his old clan turned on him
@terrence-silver please tell me you want to talk about this with me 👀

#5 I’m shoving Kwon aside and sitting next to Daniel. 😍
And, of course, Terry is sitting behind Daniel creepily staring at him with heart eyes and doodling “Terry ➕ Daniel” while Chozen glares at Terry and Dennis.

SUPERMAN #21-22 / THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN #444
September/October 1988
By John Byrne, Jerry Ordway John Beatty, Dennis Janke, Petra Scotese, John Costanza, and Albert De Guzman.
Tumblr media
Superman meets the new Supergirl and quickly realizes she comes from the Time Trapper's pocket universe. After arriving there, he discovers their version of Lex Luthor freed three kryptonian criminals from the Phantom Zone (not knowing they were criminals) and this pretty much doomed the entire planet.
Faced with the reality that these three criminals could make their way into the new Earth, Superman will be faced with a tough decision that will change his life forever.
Tumblr media
SCORE: 10
This is the final story from Byrne's run. Why? Unclear.
Some sources say that Byrne wasn't happy with the lack of control he had over Superman's status. Others say that he didn't like the dark direction the books were taking... but whatever the case was... writers continued working on his plots for years (with almost everything closing between 1990 and 1991, and influencing the "Reign of the Supermen" saga).
This final story is really dark, with Superman being forces to execute the Phantom Zone criminals. You can tell that the saga probably influenced the "Man of Steel" movie in more ways than just the death of Zod at Superman's hands (although technically, Zod ended up being killed by Quex-Ul).
Tumblr media
Now, when it comes to format, this feels like a cinematic experience... now. But it was a bit of a pain to read in physical form. It's like this story was created in a way that couldn't be fully enjoyed until digital comics arrived. All three issues use two pages for panel layouts, resulting in panoramic views that make everything way bigger and more beautiful.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is something about the idea that Byrne wasn't happy with the darkness of the book that makes sense in the context of a story that ultimately reintroduced Supergirl (although that would take a few years to be fulfilled). This Supergirl was created by Luthor, and it is made of Protomatter. This interesting plot device would return with a vengeance a year later.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's unclear if the Kryptonians were resourceful enough to escape this dimension. Leaving them powerless in a barren Earth could have been a life sentence. Then again, they were going to die anyway without an atmosphere. So yes, taking to New Earth could have been very risky. Of course, Zod and co would much later make their debut into the new DC multiverse, but for a very long time, this was the only version of them that existed.
I am not sure how to feel about Luthor not using the Gold Kryptonite earlier, nor how he kept it away from them. I feel like, with many other things in these three issues, that was a last minute creative decision. This story should have lasted at least one more issue. As it is, many characters were introduced that died off panel or barely did anything.
Still, the story works well enough for me, and the artistic choices makes it a classic.
So... without Byrne... will the Superbooks survive?
Yes, in fact, another classic saga is starting right away that will lead to yet another classic saga known as the "exile in space."
Very interesting times for Superman.

This is the Christmas Station ID of TV5 in 2010. The Christmas Station ID was themed “Maligayang Pasko, Kapatid! In the Service of the Filipino”. The Station ID is accompanied with the Christmas version of “Para Sa’yo Kapatid” performed by Filipino singer, songwriter, rapper, dancer, television host, actor and comedian Ogie Alcasid and his wife Regine Velasquez who is also an OPM singer and songwriter. But somehow, Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez also performed the original version of the “Para Sa’yo Kapatid” in June 30, 2010.
The Christmas Station ID was launched in December 1, 2010 which is the same thing that the “Da Best ang Pasko ng Pilipino” music video was released from ABS-CBN.
The Christmas Station ID features Korina Sanchez, Pia Arcangel, Luchi Cruz-Valdez, Raffy Tima, Mark Salazar, Atom Araullo, Shawn Yao, Pinky Webb, Connie Sison, Martin Andanar, Seph Ubalde, Howie Severino, Rhea Santos, Alex Santos, Lourd de Veyra, Ivan Mayrina, Sam Milby, Bea Alonzo, Marco Alcaraz, Hero Angeles, Vice Ganda, Empoy Marquez, Coco Martin, Zoren Legaspi, Ogie Alcasid, Luis Manzano, Matteo Guidicelli, DingDong Dantes, Rocco Nacino, Enchong Dee, Carmina Villaroel, Eugene Domingo, Nora Aunor, Angel Aquino, Aiko Melendez, Susan Roces, Allen Dizon, John Arcilla, Gabby Eigenmann, Geoff Eigenmann, Edu Manzano, Jericho Rosales, Neil Coleta, Lloyd Zaragoza, Kit Thompson, Nash Aguas, Valeen Montenegro, Emman Abelda, Joshua Dionsio, Cogie Domingo, Enrique Gil, Carlo Aquino, Liza Soberano, Michael V., Allan K., Xian Lim, Yves Flores, German Moreno, Carmelito “Shalala” Reyes, Romy “Dagul” Pastrana, Aga Muhlach, Sid Lucero, Onemig Bondoc, Diether Ocampo, Ruru Madrid, Juancho Triviño, Ina Raymundo, Dina Bonnevie, Ahron Villena, Jun Sabayton, Niño Muhlach, Simon Ibarra, Baron Geisler, Dominic Roque, Ramon Bautista, Paolo Ballesteros, Chuckie Dreyfus, Mark Anthony Fernandez, Tirso Cruz III, Rafael Rosell, Adrian Alandy, Enrico Cuenca, Arcee Muñoz, Alice Dixson, Tuesday Vargas, Ritz Azul, Eula Caballero, Coleen Garcia, Shaina Magdayao, Ellen Adarna, Angel Locsin, Louise de los Reyes, Maja Salvador, Ivana Alawi, Diego Castro III, Vince Gamad, Lianne Valentin, Ivan Dorschner, CJ Muere, Enzo Pineda, Marco Gumabao, Edgar Allan Guzman, Jason Abalos, John Lloyd Cruz, Benjamin Alves, IC Mendoza, Paulo Avelino, EJ Falcon, David Licauco, Ken Chan, Phytos Ramirez, Pancho Magno, Jiro Manio, Addy Raj, Derrick Monasterio, Michael Pangilinan, Dennis Trillo, Jake Cuenca, Kim Chiu, JC de Vera, Martin Escudero, Dion Ignacio, Gerald Anderson and Sef Cadayona including Julius Babao and his wife Christine Bersola-Babao, Mikoy Morales, the son of Vicky Morales, Ronwaldo and Kristoffer Martin, the sons of Coco Martin and Sandino Martin, the brother of Coco Martin, Donny Pangilinan, the brother of Michael Pangilinan, Bela Padilla and Kylie Padilla, daughters of Rommel Padilla, sisters of Queenie Padilla, nieces of Robin Padilla and cousins of Daniel Padilla and RJ Padilla, twin brothers Rodjun and Rayver Cruz, Master Boy Abunda, DJ Willie Revillame, Emcee Mo Twister, South Korean Boy Band Momoland including the Goin Bulilit new cast members after the retirement of the original cast members featuring DJ Lance the Dinosaur from Sesame Street and president Noynoy Aquino as Santa Claus.
Somehow, Regine Velasquez does not appear in the Christmas Station ID but her voice was still heard.

Silver — playing MASH as Wolf and Dennis watch in disgust.
Silver: Ha! Daniel and I end up in love and living in a luxurious mansion… well (gestures around)… with NO kids. I knew it!
Dennis (aside to Wolf): Of course he did. Those are the ONLY options he wrote on the paper. 🙄
Wolf: That's a nice rock.
Terry: Yeah, Danny-boy gave it to me.
Daniel: I THREW IT IN YOUR FACE!!!
Terry: That's very nice of you.

Willam Christopher ford talking about Dennis backstory
“and I always was thought of Dennis is,he was the mongoose that was raised by a Cobra, you know so the gang that left him for dead on the sense of Tatooine,um was the mongoose clan,he was taken in by the Cobra clan and he was raised to be one of them, but he knows he knows both cultures,he knows both both fighting styles, you know my ideas that where at some point years later,he went back found old members of his mongoose clan, kill them all then he came back and if there were any men, disloyal members of any of the,you know Cobra clan,he would take care of them and by whatever means necessary,so maybe his karate isn't that good, but he has other means of uh,of warfare that he uses at his disposal to eliminate the enemy, and keep Terry silver safe”
Okay, breakdown: I really like that it basically confirmed my theory that Terry raised Snake and Dennis and they are part of the Cobra Clan aww cobra clan terry is definitely the ring leader of this cobra clan . Such loyalty! I love it. Raised by a Cobra, it's Terry! Hehe.
I need the full backstory I need the loyalty
I love that he says, "Yeah, Dennis will do anything to keep Terry safe." It's like he worships him as his leader; the man literally raised him. Their relationship is beautiful, and the fact that Terry has his little henchmen back rip snake tho 😭 it creates a charming dynamic. They have their own little clan, which is just adorable.
“if there were any men, disloyal members of any of the,you know Cobra clan”cough cough kreese no because i definitely believe he was side eyeing kreese he didn’t gaf about him I just know it
“he would take care of them and by whatever means necessary,so maybe his karate isn't that good, but he has other means of uh,of warfare that he uses at his disposal to eliminate the enemy, and keep Terry silver safe”
So basically if I don’t get a Dennis and John kreese fight because kreese is trying hurt terry with the knife I will rot
“you know so the gang that left him for dead on the sense of Tatooine,um was the mongoose clan,he was taken in by the Cobra clan and he was raised to be one of them”
So basically he was left for dead and then terry found him
I like that a lot that is really cool
“you know my ideas that where at some point years later,he went back found old members of his mongoose clan, kill them all then he came back”
Dennis after murdering his old members of his mongoose clan and going to back to terry as he should he is so real for that like yeah you better go back like love the loyalty and the best part is it not about money terry didn’t have to buy the loyalty I love that so much
Like terry didn’t really have to buy Dennis and snake loyalty he basically just saved them well he saved Dennis I’m going to just believe that terry like saved snake from the street or something like that
The parallel of saving people and gaining devotion is strong I love that
