As a leftist it is often frustrating how many leftists are just straight up bad at politics. Like yeah fuck the system the system sucks, but it is the system we have right now and until your revolution materialises, we have to operate within that system to achieve things but so many leftists just insist on really dumb political moves.

Other than the DJ-couch joke, what was the best part of Walz's speech in Philly? That he's articulate and funny like a walking Dad joke?
COACH Walz is such a perfect choice. It seems pretty obvious in hindsight that the best counterweight against an immensely unlikable person like JD Vance was a running mate that everybody seems to genuinely like.
But the best part about Governor Walz is he speaks like a normal person. He lived a relatively normal life before being elected to Congress, and he's lived a life of genuine public service. He was a public school teacher and a football coach!

Kamala "Bette Porter" Harris is now the likely Democratic presidential candidate. How do you feel? Do you think she will continue the Bette Porter- inspired fashion?

people still mad at chappell but once a again she is correct… you NEED to criticize politicians. even the ones you vote for. obviously there is a better choice in this election. but that does not been to accept her awful policies. you should always fight for what you believe in. never settle.

i think a big issue with american politics atm that no one ever wants to just come out and admit is that republicans are much more willing to "play dirty" than democrats, and this is why democrats keep on getting caught on the wrong foot, and lbr this stretches back at least as far as nixon and watergate. this is not to say that democrats aren't above political skulduggery from time to time, but overall imo, there's much less of a tolerance for potentially underhanded tactics. as a result, the dems keep getting caught off guard and playing defensive bc republicans have no compunction of taking the underhanded shot that the dems would never think of returning bc they consider themselves above it.

i hope kamala harris just assumes she has the nomination and walks into the DNC five minutes late in sweatpants, her hair in a messy bun, an iced coffee in hand just like "hey, bitches". that would actually inspire me.

A bunch of UT Austin pro-Palestine protestors got arrested on sketchy charges like "trespassing." The cops said they were there to arrest people because the governor directed them to watch for "unlawful assembly," and the governor fucking confessed that it was because he thinks their viewpoint was antisemitic.
This should be a slam-dunk case for First Amendment retaliation. It isn't. Thanks to the Supreme Court, you can usually only sue for retaliation if you were definitely 100% innocent. These protestors might or might not have been technically trespassing, and if they were then they're gonna have to jump through some legal hoops with a hostile judge.
This is not an old precedent. 2019. Features special guest star Brett Kavanaugh.
The moral of the story is to vote for Joe Biden. Even if you think he's somehow exactly as pro-genocide as Trump, you probably want judges who protect your right not to get arrested for protesting it.
