A Soft Girl's Guide to Home Organization ˚˖𓍢ִ໋🌷͙֒✧˚.🎀༘⋆
Decluttering and creating a peaceful sanctuary in your home.
I’ve had such a stressful, depressing week and one of the things that made me feel better everyday was coming back to a neat, decluttered room. As a soft girl, you must value comfort, elegance, and serenity in all aspects of your life, including your home. A cluttered and disorganized space can be overwhelming and draining, making it challenging to relax and unwind. In today’s guide, we'll explore gentle and effective home organization and decluttering methods, tailored specifically for a girl like you.
╰┈➤ The Soft Girl’s Approach to Decluttering
🌸 It all starts with a mindful mindset. Acknowledge that decluttering is a process, and it's okay to take it one step at a time.
🌸 Focus on gentle decluttering. Prioritize items that bring joy or serve a purpose, rather than strict minimalism.
🌸 Create a soothing atmosphere: Play calming music, light candles, or diffuse essential oils to make the process enjoyable.
╰┈➤ Define Your Organization Goals
Before you begin decluttering, set clear intentions. Ask yourself:
🌸 Why do I want to organize my home? Is it for relaxation, creativity, or efficiency?
🌸 What do I like about my home’s current layout? Identify what works and what needs changing.
🌸 What are my pain points? Recognize areas that stress you out.
╰┈➤ Crafting a Master Plan
🌸 Take Inventory: List spaces that need organization (closets, kitchen, living room, etc.).
🌸 Arrange tasks based on your life—room by room or category by category.
🌸 If you can’t do it all in a day, allocate time in your schedule for dedicated organization sessions.
╰┈➤ Decluttering Room by Room
🌸 Begin with small areas: If you’re cleaning out just your room always start with your bed. Once you take care of your bed, everything else looks “wrong.” You can move on to drawer, shelf, or closet to build momentum and confidence.
🌸 Sort items into categories: Group similar items together (e.g., books, clothes, kitchen utensils).
🌸 Use the "touch once" rule: Handle each item only once to avoid repetitive decision-making.
╰┈➤ Organizing Strategies
🌸 Utilize storage containers: Choose decorative bins, baskets, and boxes that complement your home's aesthetic.
🌸 Implement the "one in, one out" policy: Maintain a balanced amount of possessions to prevent clutter buildup.
🌸 Designate a "launching pad": Create a designated spot near the entrance for keys, bags, and other essentials.
╰┈➤ Tackling Paper Clutter
🌸 Create a paper sorting station: Designate a spot for sorting mail, bills, and documents.
🌸 Digitize important documents: Scan and store papers electronically, shredding or recycling the originals. If you can’t do that, find a place a store them.
🌸 Organize digital files: Use cloud storage and clear file names to access documents effortlessly.
╰┈➤ How to Maintain Your Sanctuary
Now that you’ve cleaned out your space, you have to maintain it. To do this:
🌸 Schedule regular decluttering sessions: Set aside time each month to maintain your space.
🌸 Practice mindful consumption: Be intentional about purchases, considering whether they align with your values and needs.
🌸 Embrace the "home for everything" rule: Assign a designated spot for each item to prevent clutter accumulation.
Tumblr media
Transforming your home into a personal sanctuary requires patience, self-care, and willingness. Remember, organization and decluttering are ongoing processes – be kind to yourself, and enjoy the journey.

A guide to decluttering your phone
If you’re someone like me who uses their phone the moment they wake up till the second they fall asleep (7 hours screen time yikess) it’s important to keep your phone organised and up to date. some of these i’ll do every few weeks and others once a year depending on how cluttered it feels.
clean out contacts and update info - every year i’ll go through my contacts and delete any numbers I don’t want anymore, add names to numbers I haven’t saved etc
delete any unused apps - this saves so much storage and space but I don’t have to do this often as I try to be mindful of what i download - think if you really need an app for it or if you could just use it on your google browser. optional; organise your apps into folders for different categories e.g games, school
update apps - something I do every few months; go into the app store and update the apps I have so everything runs much smoother with no bugs
delete unwanted photos and videos - one of the biggest reasons for lack of storage is your photos app. I know so many people who have basically the same picture x15 or 5 minute long videos of fireworks - whilst memories are important to keep, having a cluttered camera roll can make going through these memories hard - clip videos so they’re under a minute, clip the main parts, delete any duplicates and get rid of screenshots you don’t need - I do this every few weeks
organise photos and videos into albums - mostly just for aesthetics, i like to make albums of photos i’ve taken in different countries, an album for food, nails etc something that can be done in a car ride if you’re bored
delete unneeded text threads - this also takes up storage and most of these you wont even look back on. it can also be good for your mental health - delete that text thread with your ex so you can stop looking at it
reminders app - I have so many random to do lists there that I just forget to check off heh
clock app - delete those alarms you don’t need and all those different world clocks you won’t refer to
calendar app - add new events like peoples birthdays you need to remember and delete any reoccurring events you don’t need anymore, organise with different colours based on if its for school, work or personal.
update software - if my phone is glitching out 9/10 its because i haven’t updated it in a while
delete unwanted notes - the amount of notes i have with random letters or numbers… it makes it hard to find the notes i actually need so i’ll go through them every few months
notifications - go to your settings and turn off any notifications you don’t want to receive and go through any notifications you might have missed aka those 99+ messages
emails - delete and unsubscribe from any you don’t need
delete tabs on google/safari - all my safari tabs stay open if i close the app so sometimes tabs i don’t need pile up
change phone layout - change your wallpaper, make different lock screens, change app icons, add widgets and change the layout to make your phone feel more refreshed
most of these can be easily done in road trips or just when you’re bored, lmk if i missed anything you do!

A Beginners Guide on Minimalism, in a Consumer-Driven Society
Tumblr media
Stay on your toes, like they're cold ice cubes below (did you vibe to that line!! Don't you think I'll be an awesome rap artiste..... just kidding) I've been watching too much rap battles lately. Back to our topic 👇
Minimalism sounds great, but how do you embrace it when everything around you promotes more stuff? Let's try easy steps to simplify your life, shall we?
What is Minimalism?
For starters, it isn’t about owning the least, it’s about focusing on what adds value to your life and cutting out the excess. It’s intentional living, choosing to keep what serves a purpose or brings you joy, and letting go of the rest.
But you might say, “I love a lot of stuff”.....let's start here.
Step 1: Find Your “Why”
Before you start, ask yourself why you want to embrace minimalism. Is it to reduce stress, save money, or gain more time? Understanding your reason will help you stay motivated through the process.
Step 2: Start Small
Don’t overwhelm yourself by trying to declutter your entire house at once. Begin with one area, a drawer, a closet, or your desk. Hold each item and ask:
• Do I use this regularly?
• Does it improve my life?
If the answer is no, let it go. Donate, sell, or recycle what you no longer need.
Step 3: Adopt the One-In-One-Out Rule
For every new item you bring into your life, remove an old one. This rule prevents clutter from creeping back in and encourages mindful purchasing.
Step 4: Curb Impulse Shopping
Honestly, we live in a world filled with sales and promotions, it’s easy to make impulse purchases. Before buying, ask yourself; Do I really need this? Can I wait 30 days? Trust me, you'll often find that you don’t need it as much as you thought.
Step 5: Focus on Experiences, Not Things
Minimalism shifts your focus from possessions to experiences. Instead of buying more stuff, invest in experiences like a trip, a new hobby, or a memorable day with loved ones. These moments often bring more lasting joy than material things.
Step 6: Set Boundaries with Shopping
Consumer culture thrives on getting you to buy more. Set boundaries by unsubscribing from retail newsletters, limiting online shopping, or setting a spending cap. These small shifts keep you in control.
Minimalism Doesn't Just Happen Automatically
Minimalism isn’t a one-time event. It’s an ongoing process of choosing what matters. By starting small, you can build habits that simplify your life and reduce stress. Minimalism looks different for everyone, so find your rhythm, stay mindful, and remember it’s about making space for what truly matters.
I'll be talking about the digital aspect of Minimalism very soon. Stay frosty!
Signing out, kad

Creating Your Dream Retreat: Backyard Oasis Ideas on a Budget
Your backyard is more than just an outdoor space; it’s a potential oasis waiting to be transformed into a serene retreat where you can unwind, entertain, and reconnect with nature. Contrary to popular belief, creating a backyard oasis doesn’t have to break the bank. With a bit of creativity and strategic planning, you can turn your outdoor area into a picturesque sanctuary without exceeding your budget. Here are some budget-friendly ideas to help you create your dream backyard oasis:
Define Your Space: Start by defining the purpose of your backyard oasis. Do you envision a cozy reading nook, a vibrant garden retreat, or a space for outdoor gatherings? Once you have a clear vision in mind, delineate different areas within your backyard accordingly. Use elements such as outdoor rugs, potted plants, or decorative screens to create distinct zones for lounging, dining, and relaxation.
Tumblr media
Upcycled Décor: Turn trash into treasure by upcycling everyday items into stylish décor pieces for your backyard oasis. Look for discarded materials such as wine barrels, tin cans, and wooden crates that can be repurposed into planters, lanterns, or outdoor furniture. Get crafty with paint, stencils, and embellishments to transform these items into eye-catching accents that elevate the aesthetic appeal of your oasis without breaking the bank.
Thrifty Furniture Finds: Furnishing your backyard oasis doesn’t have to be costly. Shop smart by scouring thrift stores, garage sales, and online marketplaces for budget-friendly furniture finds. Look for sturdy pieces that can withstand outdoor conditions such as wrought iron chairs, wooden benches, or rattan loveseats. With a fresh coat of paint or some decorative cushions, these thrifty finds can add comfort and style to your oasis without draining your wallet.
Low-Cost Landscaping: Enhance the natural beauty of your backyard oasis with low-cost landscaping solutions. Invest in drought-resistant plants and native species that require minimal maintenance and water. Create visual interest with strategic plant placements, varying heights, and textures. Incorporate affordable landscaping elements such as gravel pathways, mulch borders, or decorative rocks to add structure and definition to your outdoor space without breaking the bank.
DIY Water Features: Transform your backyard oasis into a tranquil retreat with the soothing sound of water. Instead of splurging on expensive fountains or ponds, consider DIY water features that are budget-friendly and easy to install. Build a simple bubbling rock fountain using a waterproof basin, a submersible pump, and decorative stones. Alternatively, repurpose an old wine barrel or a salvaged trough into a charming water garden or mini pond.
Tumblr media
In conclusion, creating a backyard oasis on a budget is entirely achievable with a little ingenuity and resourcefulness. By incorporating DIY projects, upcycled décor, thrifty finds, and low-cost landscaping solutions, you can transform your outdoor space into a picturesque retreat that reflects your personal style and provides a peaceful sanctuary for relaxation and enjoyment. Let your imagination run wild as you embark on the journey of turning your backyard into your dream oasis without exceeding your budget. Mastering Kitchen Deep Cleaning: A Comprehensive Guide
Tumblr media
Welcome to the ultimate guide for achieving kitchen cleanliness nirvana! If you've ever stood in your kitchen, surrounded by clutter and grime, feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to start, you're not alone. Get ready to discover the secrets of professional kitchen deep cleaning!
Understanding the Importance of Kitchen Deep Cleaning:
Before we dive into the nitty-gritty of kitchen cleaning, let's take a moment to understand why it's so crucial. A clean kitchen isn't just about appearances; it's also about your health and safety. Keeping it clean reduces the risk of foodborne illnesses and creates a more hygienic cooking environment. Additionally, a tidy kitchen can boost your mood and productivity, making meal prep a more enjoyable experience.
Getting Ready for Deep Cleaning:
Preparation is key to successful deep cleaning. Start by gathering all the necessary supplies and equipment, including cleaning solutions, scrub brushes, microfibre cloths, and gloves. Once you have everything you need, take a few moments to create a cleaning plan or checklist. This will help you stay organised and ensure that no area of your kitchen is overlooked during the cleaning process.
Step-by-Step Guide to Deep Cleaning:
Now that you're prepared, it's time to roll up your sleeves and get to work! Follow these steps for a thorough deep clean:
Decluttering and Organising: Begin by removing any items from your kitchen countertops and cabinets that don't belong. Take this opportunity to declutter and organise your kitchen, disposing of expired food items and donating unused cookware or appliances.
Addressing Different Surfaces: Next, focus on cleaning different surfaces in your kitchen, including countertops, cabinets, and appliances. Use appropriate cleaning solutions and tools for each surface, and don't forget to pay attention to high-touch areas like handles and knobs.
Tackling Stubborn Stains and Grease: You may need to use specialised cleaning techniques for tough stains and grease buildup. Consider using bicarbonate of soda and vinegar for natural cleaning power, or invest in a degreaser for stubborn grease stains on surfaces like range hoods and stovetops.
Attention to Detail: Finally, don't forget to pay attention to the little details that can make a big difference in your kitchen's cleanliness. Wipe down light switches, outlet covers, and baseboards, and clean inside cabinets and drawers to remove any crumbs or debris.
Pro Tips and Tricks for a Sparkling Clean Kitchen:
Ready to take your kitchen cleaning game to the next level? Consider these expert tips and tricks:
Specialised Cleaning Methods: Different kitchen features may require specialised cleaning methods. For example, stainless steel appliances can be cleaned with dish soap and water, followed by a vinegar rinse for extra shine.
Daily Maintenance: Incorporate daily maintenance tasks into your routine to keep your kitchen looking its best. Wipe down countertops and sweep or vacuum floors regularly to prevent dirt and crumbs from building up.
Quick Fixes: For quick fixes to common kitchen cleaning challenges, keep a stash of cleaning wipes or microfibre cloths on hand for easy spot cleaning throughout the day.
Ensuring Long-Term Cleanliness:
Maintaining a clean kitchen isn't just about deep cleaning; it's also about establishing regular cleaning routines and implementing preventative measures to minimise future messes. Set aside time each week for basic cleaning tasks like wiping down surfaces and mopping floors, and don't forget to address any spills or messes as soon as they occur to prevent them from becoming harder to clean later on.
Congratulations! You've reached the end of our guide to kitchen deep cleaning. With the knowledge and tips in this article, you're well-equipped to tackle even the toughest kitchen cleaning challenges. So, roll up your sleeves, grab your cleaning supplies, and get ready to transform your kitchen into a sparkling oasis of cleanliness. Happy cleaning!
FAQ:
How often should I deep clean my kitchen?
While the frequency of deep cleaning can vary depending on factors like cooking habits and household size, experts generally recommend deep cleaning the kitchen at least once every three to six months.
What are some eco-friendly alternatives to commercial cleaning products mentioned in the blog?
Some eco-friendly alternatives include using bicarbonate of soda and vinegar for cleaning and disinfecting, using lemon juice as a natural deodoriser, and opting for microfibre cloths instead of disposable wipes.
Are there any specific tips for cleaning and maintaining kitchen appliances like refrigerators and dishwashers?
Yes, for refrigerators, regularly clean the interior shelves and drawers with a mixture of mild dish soap and water, and vacuum the condenser coils to remove dust and debris. For dishwashers, periodically run a cycle with vinegar to remove mineral deposits and keep the interior clean and odour-free.

an angels guide: sunday reset routine
hi angels! at the end of a busy and long week you need to prioritise taking care of yourself, your mental health and your space. i like to save sundays to be a ‘me’ day, a day where i indulge in self care, cleaning and preparing myself peacefully for a busy week ahead. resetting your space and self can be an intensive routine (think thirty minute youtube videos of someone deep cleaning their house) or just simple and short (having an early night). this is my more aspirational reset routine, on an ideal sunday i will do all of this but some days i may negotiate and do a little less. hopefully this post inspires you to take care of yourself and your space.
