We as a fandom are way to harsh on Strauss. "I played all the side quests just to see Arthur throw him out," why? Strauss is no worse than any of the others, I would actually say Arthur is worse than him, Arthur has traumatized way more people and ruined way more lives than Strauss has.
Now I am not saying Strauss is good, not by any means, but I don't think he is worse.
Strauss gives people loans, people he knows most likely can't pay back, people who knew that they most likely wouldn't be able to pay back but were desperate. How is that any worse than Arthur going out doing the dirty work of collecting the debt? He shot a man in front of his son, he beat a man to death in front of his son, sure it wouldn't exist was it not for Strauss but then it would just be for something else, Arthur is repeating the evil circle all the time, he is making orphans that will grow up like him or die on the way no matter if the person he kills is someone in debt to them or a police officer.
Not to mention that Strauss's work is important, he is making sure that there is money in the box just like Sean, Javier, John, Lenny or any of the others do while robbing houses or stagecoaches, who leaves regular civilians in just as much financial and emotional trouble as Arthur does collecting debts Strauss made.
"Oh but he chooses people with children," which is obviously not okay, but I think that Dutch or John killing a police officer with a kid is just as bad. Both of those victims were just trying to live straight and provide for their families.
"He gave Arthur TB!" He did not, he sent Arthur to Thomas to had TB but we have no proof that he knew Thomas had TB and I don't think Strauss knew at all because it would be massively counterproductive for Strauss to not care about Arthur. Strauss is loyal, he was beaten to death yet never told anything about the gang, he cares in his own way, not to mention he needs Arthur.
Also Strauss isn't as heartless as people think, he doesn't just send Arthur the first time that people don't pay up. He went to Thomas before he sent Arthur, he went and talked to him but realized nothing was going to come of it. Most likely he has done many deals where it went okay, where he gave some money and they did pay back in time and he saved them from ruin because they just needed a week more before payday or something. The people we see as Arthur are the people that does not pay back, the "troublemakers."
Strauss suffered just as much as the other did, his sister was sold into labour and his older brother was beating up the law for mere coins because he grew up in poverty and food shortages. He was sent to USA with his uncle who died the first day there and he was alone suddenly, with no where to go and nothing to do. He found a way of living just like the rest, he is just judged because he can't get pretty privilages.

personally i think it's a bit weird that the US government is allowed to have so much global power just because they spend a lot of money. like. we're literally 36 trillion dollars in debt but we keep spending money that we don't have in order to control all of the other governments of the world. and most of them let us, because they like money even if it's money that isn't actually real. we don't have that money. we just tell other countries that we'll give them money and then we go deeper into debt. but obviously that's okay because we just give out more money (that we don't have)
honestly. seriously and for real, what's going to happen when someone actually tries to collect on the USA's debts? we can't just pay $36 trillion, we don't have that much money. i don't think that much money even exists. you would need to liquidate all of amazon's value eighteen times over to get to 36 trillion. that's such a vast amount of money

Ok so... @tigirl-and-co, since you asked about her, I tried to put as much info as possible c: she's still in development so I am unsure of a few things as I have not chosen between the ideas I have. My apolocheeses;;; Long pile of text below!!
Full name: Veronika Thoresen (Vera for short)
Birthplace: Norway (She was raised in the USA, though)
Personality: Vera is an aloof and eerie woman, shrouded in mistery that unintentionally intimidates others. She is not a malevolent person, but her *usual inexpressiveness and defensive behavior often makes it look like the opposite. She is troubled by her past as a gang member and her kleptomaniac desires.
Height: 165cm
Age: somewhere between 23-26
She's not very ladylike and usually displays tomboyish behaviors. Despite not looking like it, Vera is very sarcastic and likes teasing others, although her teasing occasionally comes off as genuine insults due to her permanent resting bitch face lol
*she's still able to show emotions lol, but overall she's quite serious. I like drawing her looking like a pathetic wet cat though LMAO
As for her backstory: it's still unfinished but the main idea as of now is something like this:
→ Vera is raised by a criminal gang
→ said gang starts using her and give her instructions to steal stuff, worsening her kleptomania as well
→ due to the gang having an unpaid debt (and Vera herself being somewhat problematic for them since she had less experience) she is "sold" to a rival gang
→ she is taken against her will and abused in SEVERAL ways for a while
→ she finds a way to scape and survives (yay? Unfortunately this was incredibly traumatic, which caused her to have the personality she has now.)
Random facts:
-Likes Dubstep (I mean... She owns a Skrillex shirt for a reason xD)
-Enjoys collecting sharps objects, specially daggers and knives
-Doesn't like being called by her real name (according to her, it's way too long lmao)
-Struggles at interacting with other women despite being one herself
-Was raised solely by men
-Hates the cops
-Her surname and nationality are references to Dimmu Borgir's main vocalist

The Importance of Hiring a Personal Debt Collection Agency: Expertise, Resources, and Experience
Managing personal debt can be a complex and stressful process for both debtors and creditors. When unpaid debts start to accumulate, it often becomes necessary to seek the assistance of a personal debt collection agency. These agencies are not only equipped with detailed knowledge of the legal and financial processes involved but also bring years of experience to ensure both parties arrive at mutually beneficial solutions. With resources and strategies prepared for every contingency, personal debt collection agencies play a critical role in navigating the difficult terrain of debt recovery.
Tumblr media
A personal debt collection agency offers:
Expert Knowledge and Compliance
Personal debt collection is governed by strict laws, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) in the United States, which outlines the rights of debtors and the responsibilities of creditors. A personal debt collection agency is well-versed in these regulations and ensures that all efforts are compliant with legal standards. This knowledge protects creditors from lawsuits or fines that could arise from illegal collection practices, such as harassment or invasion of privacy.
Specialized Resources and Technology
Personal debt collection agencies have access to sophisticated resources and tools that are not readily available to the average creditor. These resources allow them to track debtors, understand their financial standing, and determine the most effective way to recover the owed money. For instance, many agencies use specialized software to monitor the status of debts, keep records, and track communications.
Years of Experience Matter
One of the key reasons to engage a personal debt collection agency is their extensive experience in managing various types of debts. Experienced agencies can customize their strategies based on the specific circumstances of the case. Over the years, these agencies have developed effective techniques to encourage repayment, including persuasion tactics, negotiation, and mediation.
Helping Debtors and Creditors Arrive at Mutually Beneficial Solutions
A personal debt collection agency doesn’t just focus on recovering money; they also aim to create mutually agreeable solutions for both debtors and creditors. They understand that an overly aggressive approach can lead to conflict and potential loss of the debt altogether if the debtor declares bankruptcy or becomes untraceable.
Prepared for Every Contingency
Debt recovery can be unpredictable. A debtor’s circumstances can change, making the recovery process more complex than anticipated. This is where the comprehensive approach of a personal debt collection agency becomes invaluable. Personal debt collection agency is prepared for every contingency, ensuring that no matter what unexpected roadblocks arise, they have the strategies and resources to handle them.
The agency’s ability to adapt to changing circumstances ensures that creditors have the best chance of recovering what is owed, even when the path to doing so becomes complicated.

Cutting Payroll Taxes
President Trump has announced that he is going to pursue a stimulus to our economy in order to cope with its present decline resulting from the Corona Virus and the oil war between Russia and Saudi Arabia. As part of his stimulus, he proposes a cut in payroll taxes—an extremely shortsighted and unwise decision, to say the least. Just listening to this recalls to my mind the words of the great French economist, Frederic Bastiat (1801-1850) in his discussion of “That Which is Seen, and That Which is Not Seen”:
“In the department of economy, an act, a habit, an institution, a law, gives birth not only to an effect, but to a series of effects. Of these effects, the first only is immediate: it manifests itself simultaneously with its cause — it is seen. The others unfold in succession — they are not seen: it is well for us, if they are foreseen. Between a good and a bad economist this constitutes the whole difference — the one takes account of the visible effect; the other takes account both of the effects which are seen, and also of those which it is necessary to foresee. Now this difference is enormous, for it almost always happens that when the immediate consequence is favorable, the ultimate consequences are fatal, and the converse. Hence it follows that the bad economist pursues a small present good, which will be followed by a great evil to come, while the true economist pursues a great good to come, — at the risk of a small present evil.”
Reducing payroll taxes to stimulate the economy is easy. It is popular and readily acceptable to those on the receiving end; but, from whence does the money come to pay our Social Security and Medicare? Does it come out of the air? I don’t think so, and I suspect neither do you. How about when the time comes to reinstate these tax cuts? How popular and readily acceptable will that be then? How much harder will it be for our Representatives and Senators in the Congress to sell to the people?
Let us pursue this a little further. It is common knowledge that present payments into the fund are insufficient, and tax collections must be increased in order for the fund to remain solvent. How acceptable will that be? Now, when you add this increase to the reinstatement above, how much more difficult will that be to achieve? Are we just going to let our Social Security fund go broke?
But we are not only talking about Social Security. Also included in those payroll deductions are payments for Medicare. Although not frequently discussed, it too is common knowledge, i.e. everybody knows it or should, that Medicare is insufficiently funded. In fact, it is a major contributor to our annual government deficit and, therefore, national debt.
If our long range intent is to keep and improve these benefits for the good of our people, it would seem to me that cutting these payroll deductions to stimulate an already over-stimulated economy (One should note that the preponderance of spending by our country and our people is supported by borrowing, i.e. national debt, credit cards, mortgages, student loans, auto financing, payday loans at 100% interest plus, etc.) is, to say the least, very unwise and short-sighted.
On the other hand, if our plan is to eliminate Social Security and Medicare, this is the way to go. It’s a sure winner.
Hmm… This brings to mind the sayings of Forrest Gump. “You never know what you’re going to get when you open a box of chocolates” I think he also said, “Stupid is as stupid does”.
Also, I am compelled to quote the famous words of William Shakespeare in his play Julius Caesar, when Caesar is warned by the soothsayer to “beware the Ides of March”.
Respectfully,

When to Hire A Debt Collection Agency for Your Business?
Consult now if you face any issues regarding debt collection. They will help get back your money as soon as possible. When chasing past overdue payments from delinquent customers, you will face situations where hiring a debt collection agency will be the most appropriate option for your business.
Collection agencies know the best methods to legally follow debtors to pay and they decrease your odds of collecting delinquent debts. But how to know when your business should hire a debt collection agency?
If your business is very small and you don’t have an in-house team for credit management, your business probably needs to hire a collection agency to get back the delinquent payments. If any of your in-house collection efforts do not succeed, it means it's time to hand over the delinquent accounts to the debt collectors. With extensive experience in dealing with difficult customers, the professionals know how to implement the appropriate collection methods and ensure the best outcome.
As a small business owner, the sooner you hire an agency, your chances to successfully recover your money increases. So, stop wasting your time and valuable resource chasing behind the delinquents. Rather pass those accounts to the debt collectors for high benefits.
If your customer avoids all methods of contact and absconds suddenly, it is highly advisable to send the account to the collection agency. The debt collection agencies by using the latest techniques would help them find and track down the evasive debtors.

#genuine question but where the fuck do we even get this money like isn’t the US in debt (@cumulativechaos)
(on a post about how much money the US is sending to Israel)
Yes the US is in debt, but it's not in debt but the thing about that is that a country being in debt is not the same as a person being in debt. Like you and I if we get in debt we have to pay that debt or we will face some sort of legal action, usually resulting in state violence against us by a few degrees of separation.
But the US government doesn't actually have to pay their debt if they don't want to and can just keep collecting tax dollars and spending it on shit for a few reasons. First reason is because when you owe money to someone, unless that someone is your friend, you owe money to a more powerful organization. When you take out a loan you usually take it from an institution like a bank that has more power than you. Think about how powerful the government is, they literally control the money. The thing that we as leftists need to remember is that Economics is not actually about numbers or green paper. It's about power and who has it.
Second reason is because for reasons that I don't understand because I'm not an economist but which I have to assume are very stupid and made up given that every time I learn more about the economy under capitalism I ask "anyone in this chat smoke weed? Or have a hobby that isn't making up evil numbers that kill people?", A lot of the US government's debt is to itself.
Tumblr media
The third reason is because a lot of the money that the US borrows it borrows from foreign governments who in turn borrow money from the US. And they can't make the US pay because of the big fuck off military we've got going on. I think the US might actually be owed more than it owes to other countries? Don't quote me on that I'm not an expert this is all stuff that has been explained to me by people who understand the evil fake numbers that kill people.
And Finally: where is it coming from. Us. It's coming from us. It always has been coming from us and there's literally nothing we can do to stop it because taxes are automatically deducted from your paycheck and even if you could avoid paying them they'd sick the cops on you for it. The only thing we can do at this point is a general strike since democracy isn't working clearly. But I'm not about to hold my breath for that. General strikes are costly and deadly and I don't expect the American public to do one for the benefit of Palestine if they can't even scrape one together for their own benefit like we've needed for decades frankly.
TL;DR the USA can unfortunately do whatever it wants whether the people who live here agree or not and no one can hold it accountable. Hell world.
