I haven't seen anyone else talk about it, so I wanted to share that Logan's rant monologue insulting Wade in the Honda Odyssey, before Wade decides to beat him up and they ~fight~ all night... that so clearly to me, was Logan projecting. It started as a tempered rant to cope with how annoyed and pent up he was, with the heat of everything and with Wade's muchness that makes him, him, but the longer he went on, the more he started ranting and exposing himself in the process.
"THE XMEN REJECTED YOU, AND THEY'LL TAKE FUCKING ANYONE!!!" That was my first hit, that he was referring to himself. He sees himself so lowly, so failed, that's canonical to the film. And canonically, he didn't even quite originally feel worthy or want to be with the XMEN. Didn't feel like there was a place for him there, a place for him anywhere. One of his biggest healings was Professor X not giving up on helping him believe that he deserved to be there, was wanted, was worthy, was a good guy. That's canon to his character. So we know he was speaking about himself. He was chewing Wade out, but he was also talking and focusing moreso on what upset him about himself. (He sees himself as just any jo shmo, when he IS literally THE X MAN ㅠㅠ)
He was seeing himself in Wade, how he "can't even save a relationship with a gd stripper", (he sees himself as not able to save anything either, and he's angry for that more than anything else he's angry or annoyed at) projecting SO HARD as he pieced together saying it out loud, that Wade was exactly like him. Logan hated himself for not saving anything. For being a "loser", a "failure", for all of the same reasons he was lashing out at Wade for. He was so angry and annoyed by Wade reminding him of himself, because he related to him. Wade was his reflection, in his eyes, calling him out so loudly with his own behaviors. And he hated himself. He deeply was suffering with that hatred for himself, and as a result, he lashed out on Wade when really he was chewing out himself, inside, admitting it.
"God's CRUELEST JOKE, IS THAT YOU *WONT* DIE ALONE. BECAUSE YOU! CANT! DIE! SO THE REST OF US HAVE TO SUFFER YOU THE REST OF OUR EXISTENCE!" (something along that.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He didn't know for sure that Wade can't die. He picked up on that Wade can't be killed. Logan is the one who can't die. They are two flipped sides of the same immortal power coin. When he finished his screaming at him, and everyone was silent at how cruel and shocking the confrontation and his words were, I was sinking with a very empathetically whispered "oh, Logan..." Because I felt his misery. I immediately picked up on him really talking about himself, and I think that was genius and layered. I was upset for how awful that was to say to Wade, heartbroken for Wade taking that to heart, and I was heartbroken that Logan was saying that because he believes that about himself. Because they are, oddly, a lot alike. Very compatible.
This scene here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I read that Hugh said that Ryan wrote that. He's brilliant with these films. It was so genius. I really needed to share this and bring this thought, meta, analysis to light. For all of us to have.
Is Logan mad at God's "cruel joke" of his immortality, yet ability to feel so much pain through it still? Yes. He punched the roof in rage, because it's not fair. Venting his own pain. He sees his powers, his own and Wade's too, empathetically, as their curse. The curse of being the one who lives, and the guilt with that. The one who can't die. The one who lives, who is forced to live, while everyone who "deserves to live" dies. And WILL die, around them.
"And You can't die. That's on all of US!" Logan says, clearly referring to himself living forever... And "us" being the people HE loved. He saw himself as a burden for existing with them, for them. He deflected that onto Wade, as if the people in Wade's life must feel that way too, but didn't really mean that. He meant it about himself. Logan believes he was a burden on the people he loves, the people he lost. That's probably why he left too, and didn't come back when they called out for him to. He distanced himself to protect them, and protect himself from that fear of rejection that he feels is so imminent, and them not having him, is the one element that led to none of them surviving without him. He was always the key. He was always wanted, and he was always important and needed. He just couldn't ever believe that.
Man, that's why it became so personal for Logan too, when he was shown Wade's photograph of his family. Because HE had a family, and he would do anything now to save them. Just like Wade. He held that photograph all night, he went and got it when it fell out of the car, he kept looking at it. It became personal for him, when he identified with it. That Honda scene really was their turning point of everything. That's when Logan cared with everything. He got it. Wade is the him he couldn't be. But now he can.
I dropped some heat with this one.

Extra little personal context/thought notes: Maybe I just spotted it because I have a natural knack for psychology, I'm hyperobservant, highly empathetic and deeply feeling, and I'm also years experienced of my parents and whole family treating me the same exact toxic lashout way almost every other day. That's a workweek for me to see through toxic lashout anger BS. These are not my gifs!!! They were created by another amazing account. I will refind their @ and tag them!! >>> It's @landoslastnerve ! Thank you friend! 🤍
Also wanted to include someone's tags from those gifs:

Final X-Men Movie Tier List Update- Deadpool & Wolverine (Non-Spoiler)
Now finally back from D&W and it was a great movie! I loved the fight scenes with the first fight between Wade and Logan and the last fight being standouts. Logan and Wade are just great together here and how they develop their friendship is the best part. Cassandra Nova is gleefully sadistic here and a great performance put there.
I can't really go too much since that will go into spoilers, but there are surprises here that made me happy. However, I will say that my last post was strangely fitting here since the main message of the movie is preserving legacies, even if they aren't well liked as they are now.
Tumblr media
And that's that, all the X-Men movie from Fox and now including D&W, so now all that's left is...
THE FINAL RANKING (in my opinion)
#14. X-Men: The Last Stand- A movie that just pisses me off the more I think about it.
#13. X-Men Origins: Wolverine- An eh movie with some interesting stuff, but that's it.
#12. The New Mutants- Very interesting premise, but it was alright.
#11. X-Men: Apocalypse- An ok movie carried by Erik.
#10. X-Men: Dark Pheonix- Very good first half but falls apart through the other half. Really wished there was a retry for this one.
#9. Deadpool 2- Good movie with moments and characters that I liked, but not as good as....
#8. Deadpool- A good, funny movie that redeems fans hope for Wade in this franchise.
#7. The Wolverine- Very underrated movie that should deserve some more attention honestly.
#6. X-Men- A damn good way to start off this whole franchise.
#5. Deadpool & Wolverine- A great movie that serves as an excellent send off to the franchise.
#4. X-Men: First Class- Great movie that shows the start of Charles wanting peace between mutants and humans and the rise of Erik becoming Magneto. Great performances by McAvoy and Fassbender.
#3. X2- Takes everything from the first film and elevates it to 11. Best villain of the whole franchise with Cox as Stryker and the great film debut of Kurt.
#2. X-Men: Days of Future Past- Amazing time travel movie with a great dynamic of Logan and Charles, an iconic moment with Peter, and the best climax in the entire series.
#1. Logan- A straight up masterpiece that I just love talking about since I first watched it.

‘The Fall Guy’ Shortchanges Story for Stunts in a Story About Stunts
‘The Fall Guy’ Shortchanges Story for Stunts in a Story About Stunts; 3/10
By: Will Hume In the sprawling landscape of contemporary cinema, where blockbusters vie for attention and hearts, The Fall Guy arrives with the swagger of a daredevil aiming for stardom. Two years ago, Tom Cruise set the sky ablaze with Top Gun: Maverick, a cinematic declaration that proclaimed, “This movie is worth it because you’re worth it.” But now, in the shadow of that towering success,…

Marvel Movie Nights: Deadpool 2
Tumblr media
You know, after watching Infinity War - this is a real pallet cleanser. And, clearly Marvel studios owed Fox at this point, right? I mean, all the Disney and MCU references -- yeah. And you know what, Deadpool fits in more than one would think.
I'm so glad they made a Thanos joke.
Anyway, review...
When I watched Deadpool for the first time, I was generally surprised that a movie that was so crass and uber violent would be really kind of enjoyable. And, I honestly feel the same way about this one.
Gratuitous violence with a 12yo boy potty humor has never been my cup of tea. The thing that saves these films, and really has me giving my respect to Ryan Reynolds, is the fact that there's genuine heart underneath all the snark (as someone who really gets Deadpool would know and do). So, sure, it's still an uber violent, crass parody of a superhero film. But deep down inside - it still cares.
The plot, honestly, is a little thin. It's still structured the same way every superhero film is -- to the point that I did get a little bored about half way through, but at least the ending picked up and was far more entertaining than the somewhat bland ending to the first film.
I think, for me, what really makes it are the characters -- the new ones Cable and Domino and omg did they really bring in Rusty Collins?? -- work pretty well, as well as bringing back pretty much all of the old cast. They're all such a delight to watch.
And then the fourth wall breaking meta commentary about super hero films -- it's just so great. I can do without dick and ball jokes, but my god, give me all the filmmaking meta commentary. It's really the best part of the film. (And oh man - are there some deep cuts in this one. I'm proud of myself for getting most of them.)
Final Verdict: It's enjoyable, Ryan Reynolds did not let me down (even if at times it's rather predictable and slightly dull in that it's a tad too long). But I am so ready for Deadpool 3. Welcome to the MCU Deadpool! Hope you survive the experience!
Next Up: Ant-Man and the Wasp. Oh, right, back to normal superhero shenanigans!

€6283 -> €7000
We want to reach the second goal €717
Donations are almost non-existent. Every second that passes puts our lives in danger.
"please Reblog or Donate as much as you can "
Ahed's ( @ahedalshaer ) finally reached her short term goal of €6,000 euros. to be honest it scares me how long it took her to get to this point - donations have been slowing, and I'm worried. Ahed has worked really hard to continue getting her campaign to circulate and she deserves better than this. I'm genuinely so glad that we've reached 6K! but please, don't stop now, and please help Ahed build momentum.
here's her fundraiser. she's working tirelessly to provide for her family right now and is in danger every day - I'd appreciate it so much if you could help get her to 7K by the end of this weekend!
Ahed is vetted here! #407 on the doc.
CURRENTLY AT €6,193 / €7,000 SHORT TERM GOAL !

The crazy thing is, if they would have let Wade join the Avengers then, 6 years ago when they rejected him (before everything went crazy in the world), he would have found a way to kill Thanos so easily, and so many others would still be alive.

Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Oltre a Peter, ovviamente.
Tra spettacolo e sorprese
Tumblr media

If Todd Phillips really is done with DC Universe after Joker 2... what a disappointment of a film. Where will this Joker character go from here? A cliffhanger like The Sopranos. That's it, you just sopranos joker. But shitier.

X-Men Movie Tier List Update- Deadpool 2
So after a very melancholy yet hopeful movie that is essentially one of, if not the best comic book movies with "Logan," the next movie would obviously be a sequel to the Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool with "Deadpool 2."
This movie is... good, but not as great as the first one.
Positives first, this whole story is about Wade being selfless since the last movie was a more selfish journey with wanting revenge and needing to be physically fixed. Wade just loss Vanessa in the beginning of the movie when she got killed during a shootout with one of Wade's targets that escaped during one of his jobs, which really messed him up, making him depressed. During his first mission as an X-Man (trainee), het meets Russell making havoc outside a mutant orphanage. After peacefully capacitating Russell and giving him to the officers, Wade see Russell's scars made by the headmaster of the orphanage and the orderlies as well, he opens fire on the director and workers which is then stopped by Colossus and lets the officers arrest Wade, putting both him and Russell to the Icebox, a mutant prison.
So in prison, all the prisoners have collars on them that prohibits their mutant abilities, which is horrible since now Wade doesn't have his healing factor making the cancer within him be active again. So now with Wade dying and being stuck in prison, he now just wants nothing to do with Russell, not protecting him against the other prisoners. However, when Cable appears in the prison to kill Russell, Wade jumps in protecting Russell from Cable, although he admits it came from a maternal instinct and not just because he cares about him. So, after their battle that also got Wade's collar to be broken, allowing his healing factor to come back, him and Cable were launched out of the prison. Now, Wade plans to get Russell out of an armored prison transfer truck before Cable gets to him.
After the plan fell through with Russell leaving Wade and joining with Juggernaut to kill the headmaster and Juggernaut ripping him in half, he heals and regroups with his friends to make a new plan to stop Russell. Cable shows up to them asking for their help to stop and kill Russell, telling them about his future and how Russell grows up to become a mass murderer after killing the headmaster, who years later killed Cable's wife and daughter. Wade only agrees to helping him, but because he can stop Russell and convince him to not kill the headmaster. However, Cable gives him 30 seconds to convince Russell, if not, Cable will just kill him.
Wade did succeed in convincing Russell that he shouldn't kill the headmaster by showing him that there are people that aren't cruel and do care about others, and later shows this by sacrificing himself by wearing the mutant inhibitor collar and a bullet shot through his heart by Cable. Cable then goes back in time and sneaks in a token he first stole from Wade from their first fight in the Icebox into his chest pocket, allowing Wade to live when the bullet hit the token.
I still like how they did Wade here in how he is open to killing when necessary, since in his words, doing the good thing isn't always clean, but it always about doing the right thing, which is something Wade does in the comics. Wade goes through this arc of now helping others and having a group of friends that he can call a family. So as Wade said, this movie is a "family movie", but not a movie for families, instead about the formation of a family.
The characters here are good too, with returning characters that I liked coming back with Dopinder, NTW, and of course, Blind Al. Colossus returns here and I do like that he is helping Wade heal after his loss, while also wanting him to join the X-Men, which is a thread made in the last movie, although he did give up on him when Wade opened fire outside the orphanage and gives him to the officers. However, he did come back in the climax after hearing Wade wanting his help to stop Russell and Juggernaut from outside the school.
The new characters here are good as well. Russell can seem annoying to some people, but the thing is, he's just a kid who has dangerous powers who was raised and tortured in a place where the workers hate him, and there are still times where it shows that he is just a kid in how he talks and acts to Wade. Yukio (Hi, Yukio) was seen in little times in this movie, but she was nice in the few times here. Juggernaut is awesome here in how comic accurate he looks, by being huge with his dome helmet, and his theme in the climax is funny. Domino is also cool, and her luck ability is both unique and ridiculous in how well it works. You can see it working when she is first introduced during the recruitment scene for X-Force.
Cable makes his debut here, being played by Josh Brolin, and they do keep his appearance to how he looks in the comics, with the scar on his left eye and his robotic arm. I also like his cool big future gun he has with a dial that he can turn to make a different kind of shot that's fired from it. He also serves as a sort of similarity to Wade in how he lost his loved ones, like how Wade did, and how they go in similar ways to getting to the people that did it. However, Wade has already killed the guy who did it, but it doesn't stop the pain, so there is a sense of connection there. Cable is also honorable in how he does prevent Wade's death when he goes back in time in the end.
There are some scenes that I like here: the opening montage of Wade doing his assassination jobs to Dolly Parton's "9 to 5," how Wade reacts to Vanessa's death and the anger he has towards the guy that shot her where you can still see his sadness for her death when he gets to him, the skydiving from the carrier jet and the deaths of the other X-Force members not Wade or Domino is funny (even though this is the first of two times a scene like this happens in a comic book movie since "The Suicide Squad" has a scene kinda similar to this, which is weird). The chase scene and the second battle between Wade and Cable in the armored transfer truck is also a great standout and another funny showing of Domino's ability, and last but not least, the climax fight between Colossus and Juggernaut is awesome and it shows that Colossus is learning from Wade in how to fight dirty, which works against Juggernaut.
The humor is not as good as the first one. I like how there was bags of cocaine with a box labeled "Cure for Blindness," nice little callback to the first movie and I liked the part when Wade wore Cerebro without it working obviously, but still pretending to be psychic, and I do like the post credit scenes of Wade going back in time to moments, including killing his alternate self from Origins and killing Ryan Reynolds before he gets to be in "Green Lantern." Just a nice series of vignettes that I'm sure won't be a major role for a future movie at all.
I've only seen the theatrical cut and not the director's cut, but it might be an improvement over this one, like how I heard about the "Rogue Cut" for "Days."
Tumblr media
Not a bad movie, since there are still characters and moments that I do like, but it doesn't stand a chance with the first one. There are moments where I think it should be in its own tier since this hinges on a B-/C+, but I do like this more than "Apocalypse," so yeah.
We're almost there! The next movie is a second attempt of adapting the Dark Pheonix saga, now with the second timeline characters as they head into the 90s with "X-Men: Dark Pheonix." I mean sure, they didn't do great when they first did it in TLS, but I'm sure they learned a lot since then, so they can't screw it up again right? ... Right? ... RIGHT???
