Dani had to appreciate his matter of fact tone when he uttered the few words. It was a statement she agreed with, well, she would have replaced children with suckers, because even as a child, she'd been shown just how fleeting and unreliable love could be. Her brows rose slightly at his assessment of his friends, and she couldn't help the slight smirk that found her lips. "Harsh analysis from someone whose supposed to be a friend." she quipped, though she didn't doubt he knew better than anyone what the engaged couple's relationship was actually like, especially if they'd pulled him into their wedding arrangements.

The brunette mimicked his lean, her long dark locks falling forward over one shoulder as her smirk widened slightly. "What's the fun of making a bet with just myself." she responded with a teasing tone. Truth be told, she wasn't even invested enough to do so, as long as she got paid, once a couple's big day was successfully over, she was happy to close the door and never look back. A light chuckle left her as she shook her head. "Well, they say 50% of marriages end in divorce." she answered coyly with a shrug of her shoulders. "But, honestly," she leaned forward a little further, a moment of rare honesty about to leave her lips and she wasn't entirely sure why she trusted him to share it with, yet the words came nonetheless. "I only need to get them past day one, the rest doesn't matter to me."

"Love is for children," Rylan stated matter-of-factly. Having witnessed how easy it was for his parents' marriage to break down over something that should have bonded them stronger, had made Rylan the biggest cynic towards the concept. Plus his work made him even more jaded. People are vicious towards one another once hatred had settled in between, making itself home. "What we've just witnessed is infatuation combined with lust. God knows that can last long especially when they're trauma bonded like those two idiots." Rylan sighed. "I am sure you've seen many couples and can tell who's going to last and who's not..."

Rylan raised a brow at her and leaned forward. He could sense there was irony lacing her tone. Years at his line of work meant it he could spot someone lying even though it was veiled so well. "Haven't you made a bet with yourself once in a while to see how long the couple would last once they got through the big day?" There was mischief in his tone as a slow smirk curled up on his features. "So.... how long are these two idiots going to last in your opinion?"

Tyler Tumminia has been named the interim commissioner of the National Women’s Hockey League, replacing the league’s founder, Dani Rylan Kearney.

The N.W.H.L. confirmed the change on Monday and announced that it was switching its operational model to an unincorporated association with a six-person board of governors to ensure “alignment of interests between the league and its teams.”

Under the previous system, the six-team league was owned by a group of investors that also controlled four of the league’s clubs, in the New York metropolitan area, Connecticut, Minnesota and Buffalo. Although the league sought independent owners for all six franchises, only two teams are independently owned — the Boston Pride and the Toronto Six, an expansion club for the 2020-21 season.
