i think his hair is really crunchy from hair gel and he has a hard time flattening it with the gel so the center is typically flatter than the rest of his hair but by the end of the day it kind of falls out

J’ai beaucoup aimé ce roman de Violaine Schwartz, Une forêt dans la tête.

Elle en parle ci-dessus, simplement, clairement. J’aime bien sa façon de s’exprimer et je ressens une connivence avec elle, comme si elle m’était familière, c’est étonnant.

J’ai ressenti la même chose pour son personnage principal en lisant le roman, d’ailleurs. Pourtant, la narratrice est traumatisée par une rupture d’anévrisme qui l’a laissée KO, psychologiquement plus que neurologiquement finalement puisqu’elle s’en sort bien, et a plutôt bien récupéré, après un long chemin d’exercices, de rééducation. Mais elle a encore des séquelles invisibles, elle perd ses mots, galère avec les chiffres, se sent fragile, en sursis. Ce dialogue paniqué qu’elle a en permanence avec elle-même m’a pas mal parlé… je ne sais pas si vous faites ça vous aussi, mais le yoyo des questions pour prendre des décisions, ça ressemble pas mal pour moi à ce que vit la narratrice…. Bref, beaucoup de connivence, d’empathie, et aussi d’intérêt de ma part pour l’autre personnage passionnant, la Frida qui vit dans la forêt, dans une marginalité dénuée d’idéologie, qui lui raconte sa vie, et lui montre une autre façon de vivre, une autre vie, une vie courageuse et plutôt heureuse.

Leur dialogue, leur face à face est revigorant pour chacune, et c’est une belle idée développée dans ce livre : comment l’attention à l’autre nous enrichit, voire même nous guérit (de nous mêmes).

Un très beau livre, original, bien écrit, sans fioriture, sincère, qui fait réfléchir.

Sleepy Time Boys, Beautiful Dreamer

A number of "shared dream" stories over the years in Archie Comics. Here Jughead walks in on Archie's dream and pulls him into the conscious real world and Archie then gets his revenge by disrupting Jughead's dream -- you know, just before he can vote into his huge buffet meal.

I think it is probably best to have color in that cloud, representing as it does the harsh reality brushing away, intruding into, Archie's fanciful dream -- of -- well, two love slaves catering to his every desire. Maybe it is redundant, as reality already hit hard.

There appears to be a different set of rules at play when Betty and Veronica share a dreamscape. They acknowledge the state of subconciousess, no need to puncture the thing, and they battle for control of the dream's narrative.
