DAMIEN: And then I made some comment about—about st—about stories, y’know, “You don’t want to listen to stories, you wanna get out there into the real world” sort of thing.

DAMIEN: And then I say, “I’ve got to get out of here,” and I storm out. So they cut that middle bit out, uh, so they just got the back end-

I love Damien Gerard's post. I don't mind the cut. There's enough else in the story for us to still get it.

HEY GUYS WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS???

This line "You're making my son soft" Is doing so much fucking heavy lifting and they just CUT IT???? Ed's mom was the one person we're shown in season one as Ed having loved before Stede and his dad hurt her because she was making him soft and then Izzy goes and hurts Stede because he's making Ed soft. Ed goes hard in the Kraken Era at least partially because his softness and vulnerability has only ever gotten him and the people he loves hurt and being the Kraken has kept him safe but is an intolerable state of being so at the end of Season 1 he kills the softness and there's none of him fucking left by the beginning of season 2. This is so much fucking set up for Ed's whole mindset and why he feels so much like he needs to be the worst version of himself and they just.... got RID OF IT????

Or perhaps being picked up by a Season 3? There has been some discussion that Netflix sometimes likes to stream a cancelled show before they greenlight another season-- and well, who knows, maybe that's what OFMD is in line for!

Damien Gerard, who played Father Teach on OFMD and who has been a very vocal supporter of OFMD fans - himself a fan, he's interacted heavily, vocally supported fanart and fanfic, and is himself a fan that writes his own fic, lots of interactions, lots of RTing, lots of adorable picture of his pets - has asked for help with saving the ONLY trans and nonbinary focused community center in England.

They're only about 2K away from their goal. I don't have to tell you that the trans and NB community in the UK is a very vulnerable community. This community center offers addiction support services, clothing and toiletries, community-based referrals, and a physical safe space for trans folks. If you have a few bucks, throw them over to the Trans Pride Centre.
