Walter Matthau (The Odd Couple)—A Man With A Face. Seriously, this man is begging to be put in Situations so he can give you a hangdog, put upon look. He's hilarious, a goofball, simply made to be a character actor.

Charles Hawtrey (The Ghost of St Michael's, Carry On Screaming, Carry On Doctor)—He started off playing geeky schoolboys and went on to play a lavatory attendant, a man who had a sympathetic pregnancy when his wife was having a baby, and the Duc De Pommfrit, an exiled French aristocrat at the time of the revolution. For good and bad, he was a generation's image of a 'confirmed bachelor'. Immortalised in the intro to Beatles song The Two Of Us, and featured on the cover of a Smiths album, and how many scrungly little guys can say that?

I happen to be in LA for a few days, so I paid a quick visit to one of the most star-studded cemeteries, Westwood Village Memorial Park.

By the way, the sod over John Cassavetes' and Lady Rowlands' side-by-side graves was obviously different than the rest of the lawn, as if their plot had recently been opened and then re-covered. So I'm positive that Gena Rowlands is buried there next to her husband and her mother, even though there's no marker for her yet.
