Are you a fan of Gregory Alan Isakov? If so, what is your favourite song or album? When I heard If I'm Goin at the end of Hill House I cried because it's one one of my faves and I didn't expect to hear it, but it was so unbelievably fitting for the themes and energy of that show and ending
HUGE fan. Empty Northern Hemisphere is one of my all-time favorite albums, along with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra album, and Kate and I chose "That Moon Song" as our wedding song. I got some pushback from a few producers about using "If I Go I'm Going" at the end of Hill House but I insisted on it - I wrote the end of the finale episode specifically with that song in mind.
I'm working on something else with Gregory right now! :)

I don’t usually post my music or covers on here, but today I thought I’d share with you guys my deep love for this song, “If I Go, I’m Goin” by Gregory Alan Isakov.
Not only do I adore the song itself as well as the lyrics, but I can’t help but relate the song to Kratos and Faye (I’m obsessed with those two I know 😂) but the meaning behind the song holds so much value and importance to me. The ghost or a better word, “essence” of a loved one that still lingers within a home the lovers once shared. The memories within the home, the laughter and warmth the home once carried, now cold and quiet and empty. That is how this song makes me feel and what I get out of it. A sense of emptiness and sadness but nevertheless, it still is such a beautiful song to me. Not knowing how to move on with the grief of losing them and instead, wishing you could’ve somehow moved on with them, join them in the afterlife somehow instead of remaining in what’s left of their past life together.
Tragic and yet beautiful.
I hope you’ll enjoy this song as much as I do, and hope you enjoy my little cover of it. Please listen to the original if you can and I hope you’ll feel what I feel. 💛
