New England college-aged brothers Daxton and Brandon White were -art tomb a little too much. Their dad always joked, when they misbehaved, “I’m gonna sell you to the Sheik.” And , throughout their lives, the boys always laughed at that. As IF their dad could, or would, sell them off to live with a Middle Eastern royal. Well, Dax and Bran’s first semester grades were pitiful. Seemed like the brothers couldn’t stop partying enough to make their way to class and went to the gym every day instead.
Bill White had done some work overseas, as a military contractor. And Bill was beginning to think his sons needed a lesson of perspective. So Bill, early on, before he was even married, found himself rubbing (hairy) elbows with the Arab elite, back in the Gulf War days. In fact, Bill had spent time with Sheik Qadar. Sheik Qadar had even come into possession of an ancient changing stone.
One day the boys got picked up from the gym by their dad’s companies’ “fixer,” Mr. Nadir. Nadir took the boys to the airport and shipped them off, first to the city Bursa, Turkey, where they lived each day as a new hairy Arab. Then they were taken overseas to the Caribbean to wake up daily as black man who lives their lives as online influencers personal training the wealthy arabic vacationers. Next, the boys were shipped of the UAE where they did the same, learning arabic with their thick Eastern Caribbean accents. Gosh, it was getting difficult for them to remember English after becoming so used to speaking Arabic. Lastly, they were sent to India where Daxton and Brandon completely forgot being white Americans, but were able to remember their lives as Caribbeans and Arabs.
Dakaar and Brishaan now are being picked up by a man they’ve never met, Mr. nadir, to be taken back to America. Oh, so sad how the boys were crying and scared, not wanting to leave their homeland of India. Dakaar soothes his younger brother and tells him, in Hindu “we’ll be okay, brother. We must obey this new life with our new master in America”
The trick is on Bill, who assumed his sons would eventually regain their life as his white American sons… three years later the Indian brothers are just as unable to attend school, since they only English they now know are the names of the machines in the gym and the only counting they can do is May decidable by the numbers on the side of weight plates and dumbbells. Bill is doing his best, though, to teach his boys English. They get tutored by handsome blonde university men every day.

I HAVE A THEORY BREWING, NOT FULLY STEEPED BUT THE THEORY COFFEE BEANS HAVE BEEN GROUND
First off, all pulp musical episodes are based off of a story.
E1 was vased off of the 1835 Moon Hoax, E2 was based off of "The Brick Moon" from 1869, E3 was based off of the legend of the Ellen Austin, a ship who's crew vanished into thin air.
So I googled Lincoln Island, the setting of upcoming e4.
Lincoln Island was what the colonists named the mysterious island in Jules Verne's novel called "the mysterious island"
Here, there is a part where we discover that Captain Nemo was an indian prince named Dakkar. (By now, I had already made the connection between Dakaar(pulp) and Dakkar(MN))
The prince fled his kingdom after a failed rebellion against the british. And what do we see Kal call Sia during their fight? A traitor to the Blazing World, suggesting there was a confrontation or rebellion of some kind
(i swear there are so many literary references)
I have no idea what any of this means in relation to the Blazing World, i just think that Searcher in the Shadows will be based off of the Jules Verne novel
hopefully someone smarter can figure this out

Daughter of the Deep Review
Alright, it's been a little while since I finished this book but I'm finally writing the review.
4/5 stars!
This book is by Rick Riordan, and while he's not a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints -- so this book doesn't technically fit my "by mormons about mormons" criteria -- I wanted to include this book because it's one of the only pieces of mainstream media that has casual mormon rep that I've ever heard of.
Summary - Ana Dakaar's freshman finals trip gets turned into a life-death situation when Harding-Pencroft (the school she and her friends attend) is destroyed. The freshmen are the only ones left standing and they discover that there is more to their school than they originally thought -- Captain Nemo from 1000 Leagues Under the sea (also known as Prince Dakaar) was a real person, and their school was built to honor his memory and continue researching the incredibly advanced naval and marine technology that he had invented. Ana has to trust her friends Esther, Nelinha, and Gemini (as well as herself) while they try to win a war they never realized they were a part of.
Gemini Twain is the only Mormon character and he is great. Spoilers under the cut.
Well written - 5 Stars.
Listen, it's Rick Riordan. He's good at writing, what am I gonna say?
2. Fun Level - 5 Stars.
The story is just jam packed with fun and entertaining moments and ideas. The advanced technology is intriguing and silly at the same time, the characters are engaging and their relationships are fun! I had a great time jumping from suspenseful action moments, to heartfelt friendships, to tender introspection, and back to silly sci-fi. It's just a blast.
3. Complex Faith - 4 Stars.
Gemini's faith isn't explored very much, because he's not a POV character. That being said, he is one of the main characters that Ana interacts with, and we get hints that his relationship to his religion is complex. His parents are hippies, and he never knew them because he was raised by his grandmother. She is the one who introduced him and his brother to the church. His brother is on a mission, and Gemini is the only Mormon at HP. He's a really lonely kid. We don't get the sense that he's close with a faith community in the area. Although we don't know Gemini's personal relationship with God, his backstory makes him a unique enough Mormon character (basically, not a Peter Priesthood) that I think he warrants a high score in this regard.
4. Homophobia Scale - 4 Stars.
There is absolutely no romance in this book. I know people like the ship Ana and Gem and there is certainly room for that (and the difference in religion would be interesting to explore) but there is also room for all the characters to be ace, or literally whatever. So, while there are no gay characters, there are also no straight characters. Everyone is just ... trying not to die actually.
5. Mormon Weird - 1 star.
Because Gemini isn't a POV character, we don't get a lot of Mormon specific things. There is a moment where Gemini unthinkingly talks to a Nelinha (who is from Brazil) about his brother who is on a mission in Brazil, as if Nelinha would somehow know his brother even though Brazil is a huge place, which seems like a specifically Mormon Moment to me (in an affectionately, "Oh yikes, we do that don't we" way), but yeah. Not a lot of Mormon Weird included in this book.
6. Diversity of Characters - 5 stars!
Ana - Indian American, Hindu, multilingual (English, Irish, ASL, Bundeli, etc)
Nelinha - Brazilian, bilingual (English, Portuguese)
Esther - European American, Autistic (and written very well from my opinion), has an Emotional Support Dog
Gemini Twain - African-American, Mormon,
Plus lots of other characters who show up throughout the novel, all with their own backstories, ethnicities, and personalities. I love them all.
7. Other Problematic Stuff - 5 stars
Nothing to report. It was just great.
Conclusion - Please read this book!! It's just so much fun, the cast is so great, the world is fascinating, and the plot is engaging. I love Gemini Twain with all of my heart and I want everyone else to know and love him too. It's also just so refreshing to read a book that acknowledges our existence, and allows a Mormon to be one of the heroes in a sci-fi story, just like ... casually. I love him.
I said in my goodreads review that:  "I didn't necessarily see myself in Gem, but I saw all the boys I grew up with in Sunday School, the guys I served my mission with, and the men I met at BYU." He's a good one.

On the prev tags, that's dakaar (burp). Not dakkar
First impression after reading Daughter of the Deep and 20K Leagues
I can't be the only one to think this:
Prince Dakkar sounds very similar to Prince of Dwarka
Man of the sea?
City sunk into the sea?
Coincidence? I THINK NOT!

Dish of the day - Chicken Pasta with White Sauce ❤️❤️❤️ This was definitely a tricky cook but absolutely delicious once you get it right 😍. From getting your sauce to perfection to al Dente pasta. Yes! There is a trick to that as well 😉 Find all my recipes in my blog ❤️ #pasta #aldente #chickenpasta #sprinklewithlove #chandigarhfoodies #cookingtime #cooking #indianfoodiesquad #selftaughtcook #selftaught #foodiesofinstagram #foodie #instafoodie #GreedyGlutton #indianfoodiesquad #foodlove #foodielife #foodiesofinstagram #loveforfood #dakaar #spices #hezzahezfood #cookingtime #loveforcooking😍 #loveforspices #dakaaar #chandigarhfoodie (at Chandigarh, India)
Ingredients:- For sauce 2 tbsp flour (maida) 1 cup milk 4 tbsp grated cheese (mozzarella) 1 tbsp butter (I use garlic butter for the flavour) 2 tbsp cream Chicken with veggies:- 300 gms boneless Chicken breast (cubes) 2 medium capsicum (cut into squares) 1 medium broccoli (cut into florets) 1 big tomato (finely chopped) 1 big onion (finely chopped) 8-10 garlic (finely chopped) In case garlic cloves are big then use only 4-5 cloves 2 tsp dried oregano 1 tsp red chilli flakes (optional) 2 tbsp Olive oil Pasta:- 3 handfuls of uncooked Penne pasta 3 tsp salt 3 tsp olive oil Water (for boiling) Recipe:- Sauce 1. In a pan, melt garlic butter till it starts bubbling. Turn the heat to low & sprinkle your flour. Toast it for a min. Do not let it get brown. 2. Now take it off the pan & add milk slowly while mixing it with whisker. Your whisker will help in separating lumps. In case you still see lumps then not to worry. Simply sieve through a thin strainer 😊 3. Now bring it back to low heat & sprinkle cheese. Let the cheese melt. 4. Add cream & let it thicken up. Keep aside covered. Chicken with veggies:- 1. In a pan, heat olive oil. Add garlic & onion. Sauté it for a minute. Add tomatoes, dried oregano & red chilli flakes. Sauté for 2 mins. 2. Add chicken. Cook till chicken is almost cooked but not entirely. 3. Add your veggies & cook till broccoli is cooked. We want the veggies cooked here to a level where they still give a little crunch😊 Pasta:- Now to know right amount of pasta per person there is an easier way to calculate. 1 handful of uncooked pasta is perfect for 1 person. So if it's 4 of you then 4 Handfuls of uncooked pasta. 1. Boil water in a deep pot. Add salt & olive oil & let it boil on high heat. 2. We are going to add pasta in boiling water to please be careful when you do that 👍 3. Let it boil till it's al dente. Pasta is cooked enough but still has bite to it. We don't want to over cook our pasta otherwise it will start breaking. 😊 Time to combine Pasta into chicken with veggies. Now add white sauce & gently mix. Garnish with dried oregano. Serve with toasted garlic bread & don't forget to Sprinkle with Love 😊❤️
