#DGM based Headcanon

Hey!

A little post since its been a while to reassure I still very much want to do stuff here, I just haven't been able to work on it much outside of figuring things out in my head!

On the plus side: I have a solid idea of what I'll do here, I plan to have litltle writings for the most part, where each post is a glimpse of its own "story universe", since the background plot is a very wide multiverse (many worlds combined with parallels of each world, aka each fandom is its own world, and each fandom has many parallels versions). This will allow me to have stuff that explore individual fandom, characters and relationships, and stuff that explore the crossover aspect but not limited to only a singular version of how it happened.

I do plan to have sideblogs that each are dedicated to a fandom (to reblog from this main blog), so anyone who would want to follow me but who are not interested in all fandoms can have a blog to follow that only has what they are looking for. So don't worry if you kind of want to see what I'll do with a fandom/ship/etc, but not everything, I've thought of you too!

Reminder: the "protag muses" of this blog will be Peter Parker (MCU based), Wild (Link in BOTW&TOTK), Elf OC for DAI (Ireth), Allen Walker from DGM, and Wei Wuxian from MDZS. Inspiration for each will vary, they are roughly ordered from most active to less active, but I do hope to work with them all~!

As for possible love interests (aka main ships you'll see): Peter has Tony, Wild has my version of Twilight and my version of a Ganondorf who is has "split" from the Curse (so isn't "stuck" being "evil incarnate" anymore), Ireth has Cullen and Dorian, Allen has Nea and Tyki, and Wei Wuxian has Lan Wangji.

These are the ones I expect to be the most frequent, but there are some dynamic I might play with, namely flirty friends Wild&Sidon, queerplatonic Wild&Mipha, queerplatonic Wild&Zelda, Ireth/Bull, Ireth/Hawke. Rarely, I might write Young adult!Morgan being queerplatonic with Peter (often he didn't age or multiverse shenanigans). Otherwise I like them as family, and speaking of familial, rarely I might have some familial Tony&Peter.

Also with the whole "each post is its own thing", characters with multiple love interests sometimes only have one in a verse, and in other verses, are polyam. In a similar vein: gender&orientation might not always be the same!

I might explore in particular various settings for Peter and Starker (aka not all of them will be canon based), as for the others, it'll be a bit more of canon and canon divergent, but it doesn't mean alternate settings won't happen for the other muses, just less frequent!

That's about it for a rough idea of what I plan, with the additional note that I do plan to explore lore and headcanon, not just relationships~ Basically it'll be a storytelling blog, with the secondary function of an ask blog and the option for actual roleplay!

Making that crack post just before this, it makes me realize the big difference between human Wei Wuxian (pre-Awakening) and Noah Wei Wuxian (post-Awakening) is that, for all he will manage to keep his human consciousness, he cannot avoid the influence of his Noah nature, and a big part of this is a good degree of... being casual with everything death and harming others and battles.

The crack post is me joking, but the thing is, this is something a Noah could do, to just go and burn people. To go further, a Noah can say “I would burn you” and they might be joking, or they might be serious. A noah could have the convo of the crack post (in short, “I was told to write letters to people who wronged me and burn them”, “oh how did it go”, “good but what do I do with the letters”), and they could be serious, or they would be joking.

(Heck, I could see a Noah genuinely not realize it was the letters they should burn, and didn’t think anything of burning people).

Now, as I have said: Wei Wuxian manages to keep his human consciousness. So if we continue with the example of the crack post, he would know it’s not the people that he’s meant to burn, and he wouldn’t consider harming these people unless they’ve wronged him deeply or are trying to harm someone he cares for.

But! He is also influenced by being a Noah, and so, it is possible he would consider harming someone, or not see a problem in harming someone; when as a human only, he wouldn’t have gone that far. Pretty grey area, and dependent on context, but you get the idea hopefully.

In short:

human wei wuxian: “I burned the letter” serious; or “I burned them, what do I do with the letters” joking.

noah wei wuxian: “I burned them, what do I do with the letters” you dont know if he’s joking or not; “ or “oh good idea, I’ll go burn those people” knows that wasn’t the point, might be joking, might be serious.

Also:

human wei wuxian being insulted: at worst you get punched

noah wei wuxian being insulted: maybe he’ll laugh, maybe he’ll kill you, maybe he’ll harm you and enjoy your suffering

So yeah, to be fair, while Noahs are dangerous due to the leaning toward bloodlust and sadism, the true danger is more that they are just... unpredictable.

(As Yiling Laozu, he was still pretty consistent with himself, and was still under his own moral code; as a Noah, he has two morals codes that can accentuate some traits or oppose values that then either gets balanced or one wins out).

based this on that one instagram post from Hoshino where he goes outside with Marie to draw the roses in the gardens (x). i also have this very self-indulgent headcanon that Krory is usually not comfortable smiling with his mouth open, because, oh, you know,,, but around some people (Allen, Lavi, but also Marie!) he feels at ease and does not mind :,)

Allen Walker:

Allen has to get used to you at first – not in a bad way, but you reminded him of Lala and his early start in The Order, which always feels bittersweet to him.

He avoids you because he’s afraid he’ll make you uncomfortable

Which in turn makes you afraid that you’re making him uncomfortable

Early on, you confide in your sister and Lenalee about this, unsure as to why Allen avoids you like the plague.

Lenalee offers to talk to him for you, but your sister reminds you that it’s important you communicate yourself (“if you want to get better social skills you need to train them, it’s better if you talk to him yourself!”)

And you really do try – problem is, Allen’s terribly good at dodging interactions, constantly excusing himself (“I’m so sorry but I promised to go to the lab and get my arm tested!”, “I haven’t slept in several days, I’ll find you when I’m rested!”, “I’m starving, I’ll be right back!”)

And it’s very unlike him. You know this based on other people’s interactions with him and their surprise when you tell them how he avoids you.

You end up super discouraged and decides to stop trying, what’s the point if he doesn’t want to talk with you, right?

Your sister gets pissed, absolutely vivid that he made you feel this dejected and before you can stop her, she marches to his quarters, well aware that he just came home from a mission mere hours ago, giving him a stern talking to – half the Order keeps away from you and your sister the rest of that day

You’re sitting in the common area with a book Reever has recommended to you – it’s a technical book, teaching about fungi in the woods – you weren’t sure how relevant this information would ever be to you, but the way he’d trembled in excitement as you’d asked him for recommendations had made you want to figure out what all that “fungi” was about. You vaguely notice someone clearing their throat near you but you’re trying to make heads and tails of the scientific names for mushrooms and don’t look up, figuring it’s meant to be at someone else.

“I’m sorry, is the seat taken?” when they talk to you, you almost jump out of your seat, looking up to see who was giving you such a heart attack. You’re taken aback when Allen is standing next to the couch, a nervous smile on his lips – he looks strained, is your first thought. Your second thought is the confusion as to why he’s reaching out to you, suddenly.

You sit up straighter, making room for him and he smiles gently at you before sitting down, a ‘thank you’ whispered out into the room. It’s been a few days since your sister stormed into his quarters and she’s been so livid that you actually aren’t sure what came out of her attack on him, so you’re surprised to see him here.

He clears his throat again and claps his hands together, “so… your sister, made me aware of my… errors,” he starts, scratching the back of his neck before looking down. “I didn’t avoid you because I disliked you… actually, it was the opposite!” he admits, a blush creeping onto his cheeks, “I just think you’re… cute… and I’m not entirely sure how to talk to you, I admit.”

You smile and close the book in your lap, “like you talk to anyone?” you provide and he laughs. You feel something flutter in your stomach from listening to his laugh and he finally looks at you properly, “yeah, you’re right. You want to go have lunch together?”

You scrunch up your nose initially before you can school your expression and he realize what he just asked a doll, clapping his hands together in front of him in apology, “gosh, I’m so sorry! Again, I’m so nervous… I just… I want to spend time with you… but I’m not sure how…” he admits and you can’t help but smile at his nervous antics. You reach out your hands to his left hand, missing the small jump he does upon you touching that hand so he just looks at you dumb-founded. You smile warmly at him, “you can be as nervous as you’d like! But I don’t mind going with you to eat, if you’re hungry? We can talk while you eat.”

He smiles back at you and squeezes your hands in his, “yeah, I’d like that.”

 Lavi:

Lavi is endlessly fascinated with you and your sister originally fears he wants to study you more than becoming your friend, noticing how he has so many questions to your being and work-up

He is acting very curious to make sure it’s obvious that his interest in you is definitely, completely Bookman-related (it isn’t).

So whenever you’re alone together the atmosphere is much calmer and more relaxed than what it might look like to on-lookers when you’re interacting other places

You understand why he’s doing this, quickly catching on to the tedious tidbits of being a Bookman in training and how he struggles with relations, he doesn’t ever say it out loud but you put the pieces together, knowing it’s actually bothering him a lot.

When you’re together he tries to make it fun and lighthearted first and foremost and you always laugh a lot when he’s around, one time even noticing how your cheeks ached from smiling and laughing

When you asked your sister why it’d felt sore even though you’d been having fun, she’d questioned you thoroughly about your conversations, wanting to make sure you weren’t being used or exploited

(She knows you can take of yourself but… better safe than sorry, right?)

“Man, yer sister’s really protective of you,” Lavi smiles as he sits down next to you on the ledge of the fence. You’re watching the sun rise with Lavi every morning, when possible, from the top of the building as he drinks a morning coffee – he has to go to the library early if he’s not on a mission so this is the most alone time you’re guaranteed to have on a daily basis. You lean into his shoulder with your own as you let out a laugh, “I’m not blaming her though,” he adds for good measure, pushing back against you with a warm smile on his lips.

“So what do you have to read about today?” you ask, knowing that Bookman has him on a pretty broad but set curriculum.

He tells you that his current subject is classified but that it’s very interesting – it’s obvious how excited he is and how badly he wants to go into detail but also understands his position as a bookman in training. He shifts the subject to his “free study” on food cultures all over Europe.  

He smiles as he leans back on his arms, “we don’t always need to talk about me, y’know,” he takes a sip of his coffee, looking at the scenery in front of you two. You smile, “but I do enjoy learning about you,” you reply fast and he spits out his beverage, making you laugh in surprise.

“Ah, my poor heart,” he sighs dramatically, clutching his shirt in his hands. You lightly punch him on the shoulder for teasing you and he gasps dramatically, “I was not teasing you, by God! I am simply taking care of the beating of my heart around you,” he states matter-of-factly and you boo at him, sticking out your tongue.

He looks back at the sun who’d slowly been making its appearance clearer and clearer, lighting up your home for you, “I’m not meant to have one, but you keep reminding me that I have one.”

You lean onto him again, kicking your feet a bit to alleviate the jitter that came with being nervous around him, “hey, I don’t even have a real one and you’re making me feel like I do.”

 Kanda Yuu:

Kanda wasn’t fond of you in the beginning, unable to see the purpose of you – you couldn’t fight, you would stop existing if he removed your “heart” (to which you’d replied he probably would as well, you know. “That’s how humans work.” He hadn’t had a proper comeback because it took him a couple of minutes to figure out what you meant and that pissed him off.)

He was actually the exorcist who ended up escorting you and your sister to the Order when you originally arrived, grumbling about it all the way, not making the whole “new life” thing any easier for you or your sister who were already worried about what this new life would entail

Upon seeing his attitude on your initial travel you actually made an effort to avoid him at most costs at the Order

Once, you went to the cafeteria with your sister so she could have lunch but after seeing him walk in right before you, you turn around and hide in your room (it wasn’t hiding, per see, you tried to argue when your sister came to get you and scold you)

Then your sister was away on a mission – she was with the chief of the science department, Reever, out to get supplies for you and your maintenance (just in case something ever happened, she’d assured you) but it was the first time you were without her for longer than a day at the Order and it’d made you anxious and jumpy as you made your way around the Order.

Lenalee recommended you try to meditate to spend the time and find some ease and quiet

She offers to go with you but you’re determined to do this alone, you decide. To show your sister what you’re capable of and proudly tell her about it when she comes back

You’re situated in the room, on one of the mats, ready to “meditate”

When you realize you haven’t really been properly introduced to meditation at all, making you groan in frustration.

You’re lying on the floor, limbs sprawled out on two mats in defeat, trying some random breathing exercise as a form of meditation. The door slides open and you yelp out as you try to sit up, failing miserably. As you look up you lock eyes with none other than Kanda Yuu – the man you’d very diligently been avoiding for several months. He stares back at you with the same amazement before he furrows his eyebrows and puffs out an annoyed huff. He doesn’t make an effort to leave again though, entering the room and sliding the door closed after him. He sits himself down to the right across from you, clearing his throat once before crossing his legs.

You’ve been following him with your eyes as he got settled. A thought occurs to you and you smile, starting to mirror his position. If you just did what he did – you’d be meditating, right? As you’re sitting in the exact same position you keep stealing glances at him – something’s supposed to be happening now?

Kanda’s not unaware of your staring, his brows furrowing more and more with each passing moment. Your breathing’s too loud, constantly sighing out or clearing your throat and he’s minutes from having it.

“You’re supposed to be calm when meditating,” he says and he hears you let out a gasp as he speaks. He wants to roll his eyes but he doesn’t want to make it obvious that he’s reacting to you being here, so he huffs out a small breath and straightens his back.

He hears you shuffling around and he doesn’t know what you’re up to until it becomes too much and he hurriedly looks in the direction of your sounds. He grunts out in surprise when he finds you on the mat next to him, your wide eyes locked on him, “tell me how to meditate.”

He inhales sharply, this time actually rolling his eyes, before straightening back up, “Find a comfortable position – it can be anything, but this one works for me.”

You hurriedly to mirror him again, looking invested. He’s not entirely sure why he’s doing this – had it been anyone else, he’d have cut them up with Mugen for demanding something from him like that. But you, you’re somehow different and he’s curious as to why.

He closes his eyes again to keep a blush from creeping up on his face, “close your eyes and relax. Don’t try to control your breathing or your thoughts, just… be.”

You let out a groan, “really? Just be?” you mimic him in a mocking tone and he sends you a very him kind of death glare, “you want my help or not?”

You squeak out before going back into position, “alright, alright. I’ll just… be, then.”

You sit there in silence and your eyebrow ticks at each passing second but right before you’re about to groan and flail dramatically, you feel his arm on top of yours, “I told you to relax, didn’t I?”

You inhale sharply and feel heat bloom where you’re touching, instantly relaxing. You exhale slowly, feeling the frustration leave your body as it relaxes. Alright, you can do this, right?

In your concentration you miss Kanda’s smirk, though you do notice that his hand doesn’t leave you for the rest of the session.

My college dgm headcanons for the main four

Kanda:

Business major and art minor (idk this just works)

He’s good with excel and everyone else uses his Microsoft office subscription

He hates it

Prefers art but thinks business is good to know.

Constantly doing comms and has a Instagram account of 200k where he posts his art

Has Lavi and Allen blocked because they pretend to be his long lost children in the comments one too many damn times

Allen:

Has a GED and gets into nutrition science.

Idk what major nutrition is so I lean toward bio / physical education major??

He’s gonna end up working with kids afterwards he knows that much.

He PROCRASTINATES. Till the very last second.

Can charm the professors into giving him extensions and once a whole up letter grade. (Based off rumors at least).

Would have a coffee addiction if he didn’t room with Kanda and Kanda put a hard no rule on caffeine.

Lavi sneaks him some sometimes.

Lenalee:

FASHION major and dance minor idc idc idc. She’s doing it.

Very busy cause she also volunteers at Komui’s clinic and also donates the clothes she makes all the time.

Lavi helps her with her schulde and sighs everytime he sees it.

“You can either sleep on the weekends or eat but not both.”

She somehow does it?? And gets good grades?

For relaxation she binge watches YouTube and bakes and yes- Allen is the taste tester.

Komui cries cause he’s just so fucking proud.

Lavi:

Politics major and history minor.

Talk about a busy schedule they NEVER see Lavi.

Constant networking, once he had to wear a suit and Kanda had to leave the room to collapse on the floor in tears.

He thought he looked good🙄

In his free time enjoys translating things??? As a hobby???????????? And learning languages.

Does indeed have a caffeine addiction.

Shares a place with Lenalee, but as far as Komui knows? He lives under a bridge.

Lenalee bakes he cleans it just works you know?

Also in this AU Allen is a first year, Kanda and Lenalee are third years and Lavi is in his final year.

DGM Exorcist! Alma Karma headcanons that nobody asked for:

When he was a kid, everything happened the same up until the very last one: which is to say he still destroyed the hell out of lab 6. Broke every machine, gutted every record-keeping station, killed all of the 'sleeping' apostles, slaughtered every scientist and staff member, everyone in the unsealed part of the building that he could get to.

Everyone except Noise and Yuu.

His Innocence, relatedly: is a bit fucked up! Physically, when it’s unactivated, it looks a bit similar to Allen’s arm before Crown Clown manifested properly, When activated it manifests somewhere between a gauntlet and a scythe, spiking up from his arm in way that’s only slightly more controlled than we saw in the flashback. It’s parasitic.

The Science division had to take a very long, careful time to find out information about it, given Alma’s trauma and following violent tendencies around doctors, but their general conclusion is that it would’ve been better suited as an equipment Innocence.

--- Or, in Komui’s notes, that it had been an equipment Innocence with its last accommodator, but that form broke when the Second Exorcist project had distilled it, and due to the trauma of their first synchronization it couldn’t bond properly with Alma to become what it was meant to.

As it is, though, it’s grown with Alma, through his arm and shoulder into his nervous system and whole right side. There’s no possibility of removing it without killing him, even with his accelerated healing.

They call it Angel’s Scythe

(This is partly based on Liketolaugh’s fic ‘Synchronization’ where Alma’s Innocence is named Angel Sword, and it’s good and y’all should read it)

I really like the idea, narratively speaking, of Alma reacting to his trauma equally & opposite to how Kanda does. Not an exact mirror but as a general characterization rule

e.g. The way Kanda hates anyone close to him ever, Alma is permanently touch-starved and is most comfortable when he's in physical contact with someone at all times

Kanda doesn't trust or like people and refuses to attach to anyone without kicking and screaming; Alma attaches to everyone who shows him any kind of kindness or affection, extremely easily

Like, to his detriment

He'd be a terrible Bookman

On one hand (literally) it's good because Alma’s protectiveness and regard for others matches his Innocence’s will, which gives them a usable synchro rate

Despite the seething hatred Alma has towards it, the scientists, the Asian branch, the Order at large, and also God

On the other hand, this gets him into trouble and he reacts to rejection, uh. poorly. Not violently poorly, and not as immediate-bawling as when he was a kid, but it's actually one of the ways he and Kanda are alike: they both have a Short Trigger for strong emotions

Alma is very angry, the same way Lena is very angry. This is part of the reason they're best friends

He remembers flashes of what happened to him in his past life, just enough to remember what’d been done to them, that his love died and that all flowers sink into the mud. He has terrible nightmares. Because of that, he does his best to avoid sleeping, and flowers

He does like non-flowering plants, though; and other things full of life; animals, kids, dancing, music; reading (especially mystery novels which he steals from Lavi on regular occasions), parties, learning.

The ‘detective work’ that sometimes come with missions is his favourite part.

He prefers mild-to-bland foods, like Kanda, but also really enjoys sweet things, and likes to try as much variety as he can (unlike his "soba for all meals counts as different food" soulmate)

Mostly he doesn't make his own meals, bc the Orders, but he can if needed. Klaude made cooking lessons part of his training (specifically, he’d have to cook her breakfast and if he was late or the food was burnt / undercooked he’d have another set of cardio exercises to do), and he found out he likes the whole process / finds it calming

Often when at the HQ he'll be in the kitchens making a midnight / 4am snack, Jeryy having made an exception to the “No One Allowed In The Kitchen After Hours, No Exception” rule for him when Alma and the others were very young

Though: once Link gets to the Order, he stops doing that as much. It makes Jeryy worry for him, but nothing’s wrong with Alma, it's just that he recognizes Link as a Crow from the moment he sees him, and Link uses the kitchens at night to stress-bake. So Alma cannot be anywhere near there or there will be a lot of problems.

Eventually Jeryy works out what the problem is and lets Alma use his personal kitchen to cook stuff, instead, which he would have done the whole time if someone had just told him what was going on, Alma

However that’s another thing Alma and Kanda actually have in common: if you’re having some kind of trouble, you don’t tell anybody anything at any point.

Lastly: Alma kept the plushie rabbit from the Lab, named Scratchy, and he fell asleep holding it every night he could until he was 17

Based on survey results, Etsy. It makes the most sense, and I have someone to help me get started~

How much will it cost?

Unsure, about 10usd to start...? but shipping internationally is looking to be about 10usd, and I am going to try to cover domestic shipping. And of course variations such as a necklace vs a keychain will affect the price of it as well... (Quite honestly this is where I’m the most stumped.)

Survey questions:

Would it be possible to buy a necklace with just the song and not the names? I’d be interested in something like that, maybe with the song on both sides.

Would it be possible to just have the partition side?

Consider customizable text? I'd personally like it to display "A.W." or "DGM" !

I do the engravings one side at a time! So I can do the melody on both sides, just the one with a blank back, or custom text! I will provide options for this on my listing.

Do you plan on making others design? (The Order's cross/Timcanpy/a random Golem/The Noah's crest/etc... For example)

Actually, yes! I have already been experimenting with other designs and themes. I made an entirely self-indulgent Cross Marian themed keychain lol. However, I would like to start with just this pendant, as I’ve never sold merch before. I hope to provide more options in the future.

Would you do custom/special requested pendants (like a commission of sorts)?

I would like to do this later down the line! But I’m still new enough to this process where I’m unsure how to accurately gauge how much I would do custom engravings. Since there are chances where I have to create and modify the render myself. I already made and formatted Nea’s melody so that it’s relatively easy to make. The rendering can take 20 minutes or 2 hours. So I am not about to take up anything more ambitious yet. Baby steps.

A little post to go into more details for the “pairing&prompt” part of my Love Event 2022~!

First, while I say “pairing”, it doesn’t have to be romantic!

Obviously, the prompt might clarify it anyway, but i wanted to make sure people know I’m not limiting this event to romance, it is for all form of love~

In that spirit, you can ask for a pairing, but the prompt can be about each character individually (ex: Wangxian, Self-Love).

And in term of what I’ll write, it can vary, as it might depend on the prompt, but it will generally be a mix of headcanon and a little bit of writing!

It is recommended to ask me pairing/character in fandom I have written for, so MDZS and DGM are a good bet, as well as Pokemon and BBC Merlin, as the fandom I can see myself most easily hc-write for. You’re welcomed to drop prompts already, I will collect them (and start writing for them) up until February 14th, then I’ll start posting any I received before February 14th, and all through February 14th I’ll still be taking prompts and writing for them.

I will make an announcement post when I consider the first part of the fanfic event closed, and once its closed, know that it will open again for March 14th, I’ll make a post to announce the start and the end of the second part that’s one March 14th.

While I don’t have the mental space to write for prompts all through that month between those two dates, you are welcomed to ask for a gift writing based on a prompt if you donate during that period of time.

D.Gray-Man Tag!

I got tagged by my friend Violet to hop into this little game she made, and there are few things I love more than babbling about DGM, so let’s go! The rules are to tag three people to get the game going, so I’ll do it at the start because this will get looong. I’ll tag @14th-melody, @metzzi and @rudimentor0x0. Here’s the blank post. Sorry if you have already done it, I might’ve missed the posts ;;

⭐ What year did you first get into DGM? Hmm, actually, that’s a hard question because I didn’t get into it right away? If memory serves me right about what grade I was in high school when that happened, I was 15 - so, 2008. Pull a chair, I’ll tell you how that went. It was actually a recommendation from a friend of my best friend; we weren’t particularly close, I just knew he and I had a similar taste for anime/manga and I was looking for getting into a new series... but I wanted it to be worthwhile. So I asked my bestie if her friend wouldn’t give me a rec. He recommended me D.Gray-Man, and just like I do before watching any series, I watched the first opening to get an overall “feel” of it and I quite liked it: cool aesthetic, music was dope, characters were nice-looking. But, for some reason, I didn’t watch it and eventually forgot about it.

Then, one day on my way back home from school, I stopped by a nearby newspaper stand since here they also sell manga. They were all very cheap at that time, so I would often look for new volumes of the titles I was collecting (my allowance was enough to buy two or three!). I saw DGM’s first volume there, and went “oh! It’s that one series he had recommended me! I’ll take it and finally give it a shot.”

I fell in love.

I really liked it at first, but the point where DGM completely won my heart was during Lala’s arc. I had never cried with a manga before. 

⭐ Who’s your favorite character? This is probably very unoriginal, but it’s Allen! At the start I was very lukewarm about him, but as time went on, I felt like I could relate more and more to that kind-hearted boy and he became my role model. DGM has been with me through some of the worst of my life, and Allen’s resolve to keep going, keep walking, no matter how hard things were for him was what motivated me many times in past. It still does. Allen also taught me to be kinder and through him I realized being there for others makes me truly happy. Sadly, I also share with him the same trait of being unable to truly see how appreciated I am and all the good I bring others just for being there... But I’m working on that! He became the first character I felt like I could fully relate to, and I was surprised - but still very happy - to realize that, now that I’m an adult with more experience and maturity, I feel like I can understand him even more and better than before. Our connection didn’t wane with time, I feel so much closer to him now. He’s very special to me.

Standing at the second spot - because it’s also fair I would mention her -, is Miranda! I always say that if Allen didn’t exist, Miranda would be my number 1 since she stands so close to him hahaha After him, she’s another character I deeply relate with. My self-esteem isn’t the best out there so I’m quick to think I’m worthless or useless, just like her. Even so, she wouldn’t give up. Every time I felt like giving up because of auto depreciation, I would think “Miranda would try again, she would work harder”.

It’s like the two of them were walking me through the steps so I could move forward and keep doing my best.

⭐ Who’s your least favorite character? I’m going to say Chaozii. But, before we get to the usual “Chaozii slander” we’re used to doing in this fandom, let me elaborate. It has nothing to do with him not siding with Allen. As much as I love Allen, I know we’re able of sympathizing with his ideals because as the readers we have a plethora of information on his motives; if not for that, we would probably take the same stance as Chaozii has taken about him.

What riles me about Chaozii is that, unlike all of the characters, his mindset is either black or white, good or bad. Everyone seems to have a perfect mix of both, showing many facets just like, well, real, imperfect people. Chaozii is the only one who doesn’t have that. Being simple-minded is not a bad trait, but when that clouds your judgement, then it turns into a bad thing.

It all fell apart when he snapped at Allen when he refused to kill Tyki. That particularly bothered me a ton, even if I understand his feelings. Chaozii, who thought it was wrong and cruel to kill humans and was grieving for his lost comrades, was fine with killing a human whom he wasn’t even sure if was being forced to do things or not. Do you see the issue here? Chaozii never feels to me like he’s striving to do the right thing in order to bring justice, but instead, because he wants revenge.

I hope he does get to learn one thing or two in the future. He has potential to be a great character; but he needs a “redemption” first.

⭐ Who’s your favorite general? Tiedoll! Although I like all of them for different reasons. I really love Cross and differently from what some people think, he did care for Allen and I love their rather dysfunctional relationship. He’s a much deeper character than just a womanizer full of fishy shenanigans. He’s also really badass: former scientist, user of magic, (former) wielder of both an Innocence of his own and another person’s (Grave of Maria). I just happen to love Tiedoll a liiiittle more because I can’t take this guy! He’s just so sweet, and his doting nature makes him both funny and lovely. General Sokalo is really cool and all, but I feel like he’s just a cool guy to me. On a side note, General Klaud could step on me and kill me and I’d thank her. I hope we get to learn more about her Innocence sometime.

⭐ Who’s a character you would get along with? I would love to say it’s Allen, but he’s someone really hard to get close to. If I think about the characters I’d like to befriend because of shared traits or interests, I think I could get along well with Miranda, Krory, and Marie. The first two because they’re two softies who just happen to be really awkward, I feel like I would probably befriend them after trying to comfort them too often. And, the latter, because I’m a person who likes calm company whom I can have honest talks with.

⭐ What kind of innocence would you have? I honestly have no idea. If I had to pick one from the ones we already have, I think I would go with the Dark Boots. Being able to fly and maneuver in mid-air would be a dream come true, I feel the happiest when the wind blows against me. If I have to think of something “for me” specifically, I think I would like a long range Innocence. I particularly like firearm-like weapons like guns, so maybe a gun or dual pistols? Yeah, I think I’d really like the dual pistols.

⭐ What’s your favorite ship? Ah, to be in the DGM fandom is to be a multishipper; yet this is the part where I always get nervous at because my favorite is a rarepair. But!!! I’m building up the courage to be more open about (and less self-judgmental of) the things I like. It’s Allen x Miranda. I don’t really know when it started; from what I said before, you already know they’re both my top favorite characters and very special to me, so I naturally loved it when I saw them sharing screentime. When I realized it, I was looking at them and thinking “they would make such a cute couple together”. It just kinda happened.

To keep this short, there’s this blog I really like explaining about this pair’s dynamics. I think they have a great dynamic together and much potential. They could very easily have a wholesome relationship based in lots of patience and mutually covering the other’s weaknesses and helping them become someone better. These are the best kinds of relationships imo. I hope to share some of my headcanons for them (and even writing, hopefully!) sometime in here. I always picture Allen being older, so that gives me some free room for creativity; it doesn’t look like he has time for romantic love right now, and I don’t really feel comfortable with him being a minor for this ship, so both things go hand in hand.

Honorable mentions go to Link x Allen (again, older!Allen), Yulma and LaviLena, as I also get super happy when I see these particular shippings. 

⭐ What’s your least favorite ship? I actually have some, but it goes against my policies to publicly (consciously) say negative things about certain things if I can help it. I know I’m allowed to have opinions, but you never know who can stumble upon it and what I dislike can be something that makes someone really happy, you know? I tend to stay silent about such things when it comes to something as harmless as shippings.

So, I think I can say I’m accepting of everything as long as everyone respects each other! And, of course, if it isn’t distasteful (as in, illegal).

⭐ What branch would you want to be part of? We’ve only seen the European and Asian branches properly before but even if there aren’t many choices, this is still a hard question; I think both have lots of good things going for them. I think I would probably want to settle with the Asian Branch! I love how lively the atmosphere is and I also feel like there are way less science division shenanigans in there... Sorry, Komui. 

⭐ What’s your favorite arc? I have three! The Rewinding City arc came right after Lala’s arc - that had touched me a lot -, bringing in even more feels. It introduced Miranda and at the blink of an eye, made me care so much about her. The first activation of Time Record after she protected Allen, followed by his thanks to her hit so hard; I get really emotional talking about it. It was such a great, yet touching moment. I think everyone can relate to that; being worthy of receiving gratitude for something they did for someone.

Then, there’s Lulu Bell’s Invasion of the Black Order arc, followed by the appearance of the Level 4 Akuma. I can’t express into words how great the flow of the elements are there. The plot is focusing on multiple characters with their own background dramas happening, all at once, yet none of it feels out of place. Everyone gets their moment, everyone contributes to the big picture (saving the staff and defeating the Akumas). It all felt like one big collective effort of several parts uniting forces, no one was more or less important than the other. It was expertisely done.

And the last mention goes to the Searching for A.W’s arcs (Saying Goodbye to A.W also included). These arcs are being extremely painful but, at the same time, also extremely rewarding to go through. For the first time ever, we’re seeing Allen give in to his wants and acknowledge his feelings; he’s not honest with himself very often, and seeing him actually admit that he still wanted to go on - for himself -, that he still wanted to hold onto hope was something that I suddenly realized I had always wanted to see him do. It’s like I had been waiting for so long. Allen is growing up, and I’m loving to see the part Johnny and Kanda are playing in this. I could talk all day about how happy it makes me, to feel this much hope in the midst of such a difficult situation these arcs are covering. It captures very well the essence of D.Gray-Man imo: the bittersweetness of the hardships of life, and the good things it makes us realize we have had all along. The people we have by our side. The will to continue moving forward because we still have something we love and want to fight for.

Anon from the half send ask here: the Innocence seems to have a very strange way to choose who becomes an exorcist: Lenalee is chinese and probably wasn't even chatolic before joining the Order, Sokaro was in the death row, Cross apparently is a "priest" (???) but it's debatable. It would make more sense to pick your fighters from the most devoted followers of the catholic church, instead of apparently random individuals who seem to barely believe in god. What is the Innocence thinking?

(part 2) According to Road, Allen was made an exorcist because the Innocence knew about Nea. Is "the Heart" the real mastermind behind all the story of D-gray?

Since 234, I have this headcanon that accomodators are people somehow linked to the previous world. I don’t have any evidence to support this, anyway, except for Linalee’s case.

A different interpretation could come from the Bible. From Luke 5:27-32: But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

What I mean is that innocence could be a “repentance” to sinners, or even a penalty to those who aren’t living according to God. From what we know, if it’s really God we’re talking about and not some other entity, DGM’s God act a lot like the one from the Old Testament. He punishes traitors with the fall, he asks his warriors to fight and kill; crystal type requires blood sacrifice.

Until we figure out at least what innocence is trying to achieve (which I think will require many years lol) its difficult to say why accomodators where chosen.

Because you’ve mentioned Linalee: I’ve always found it curious that she has no memory of her life before the order. We don’t know what the others know about their past, if they’ve had an amnesia like her. For example, Krory doesn’t have any memory loss before innocence, from what we know. But there’s something indeed fishy about his story: Cross knew he was an accomodator.

What I mean is that innocence doesn’t seem to pick accomodators randomly, otherwise how could Cross know? (Not to mention the Bookmen knew they would have been accomodator before joining the order).

On a side note, innocence evolves around emotion that are not clear as it is for dark matter. While akumas grows through hate, innocence seems to react to a will to fight for the cause, except that it doesn’t matter why you fight for it. Allen wants to save, Linalee wants to protect her family, Kanda wants to live (to find that person or to pay his debt to Allen, now), etc. Everyone seems to have a reason to fight. At this point I could guess that innocence choose accomodators based on how “useful” they can be as warriors in the holy war.

The reason why CC chose Allen can very well be due to that. Just think about it: who’s the best fighter against the earl, than a piece of the earl himself? If innocence aims to kill the earl/Noahs, there’s no one who has killed more Noahs than the 14th.

To answer to your last question: the heart is somehow sentient and has its own agenda. It is possible that it is orchestrating the story. Let’s not forget the earl follows a “script”, as if he was an actor in a show. We don’t know what script it is, and to which extent the heart is involved in the “writing”.

One conflict Wei Wuxian will have to face once he is a full Noah, is that a Noah has no care for humans, and even hates humanity.

It’s more complex deep down, but while the war ended millenias ago, the emotions and instincts of a Noah, especially the Earl, remain. It will be better when Wei Wuxian manage to have his Noah’s memory be complete; but the fact remains that, for all the world has changed and their war is over, one look at how humans behave and it is easy for the Noah within Wei Wuxian to feel the disdain rise again.

So, we have Wei Wuxian himself who cares about people, who tends to do something if someone is facing injustice. And then we have his inner Noah, who could care less about it, and who can feel downright hateful and murderous toward humans with ill intents toward others (which doesn’t help, considering Wei Wuxian himself can feel pretty displeased with that).

The good side is that, for the most part, since his inner Noah doesn’t really care, it won’t be too much of a problem when Wei Wuxian wants to help others. But if another person is the source of the problem, it can get harder to not do something Wei Wuxian himself would rather not.

One moment I can see Wei Wuxian and his inner Noah having a real conflict is if Wei Wuxian himself is being forgiving or lenient or wants to accept someone redemption, as his inner Noah, for his part, would either want to be sadistic and make them live but hurt them; or would downright want to just kill them.

Of course, while not an actual conflict, there’s also the whole part where his inner Noah will influence certain emotions and desires. If Wei Wuxian gets angry, if he wants to hurt, if he’s annoyed, those are few examples where his inner Noah kind of edge him on to do something.

On the plus side, it is quite alike to resentful energy, so Wei Wuxian does know how to deal with that. However, unlike resentful energy, his inner Noah is a part of his own self, it became a part of his very soul. It’s also quite stronger (enough that, as we see in DGM canon, it can over-write the actual human persona and only live a Noah-esque version of them, and in some cases, the human themselves doesn’t really exist anymore and only the Noah is there).

Again, Wei Wuxian also becomes not just any Noah, but the Earl, the First and the leader, who was the only one who actually lived (without reincarnating) for 7000 years. It creates a rather overwhelming inner Noah, and it’s only because he’s not alone (Mana) that Wei Wuxian doesn’t outright get erased. He’ll still need time (and the help of Mana, then later Nea, and finally a sane Adam) to stabilize himself.

HOW I RUN MY BLOG.

SPEED: I call myself fickle rather than slow or fast. My speed is fully dependent on my energy, but also what else I might focus on. For all I might be super energized one day, I might choose to focus it elsewhere. The trick with myself is to just not force myself, and chances are, I end up having some form of regularity, as long as nothing else piles up on me. In short, unless things demand more attention or I need to rest more, I do tend to write replies at least once or twice a week, although it’s gotten rarer for me to find the energy to do more than two or three replies at once. So I’m doing replies at least once or twice a week, but depending what inspire me, some threads take longer.

REPLIES: I can do short replies, but it’s very easy for me to develop inner thoughts or details of the environment, especially as technically, there’s three NPC always with Allen: Nea, CC and Timcanpy. I don’t always do it, but often, there’s just logic in writing out what Nea, CC and/or Tim is doing or feeling, as it can affect Allen himself. I also love to leave cues for my partners, like a glimpse of Allen’s left hand or a spike of energy, things can be used, your character seeing or sensing things, or not used. I do tend to match reply too, since what you give me will give a base structure of what I can give you, and sometimes inner stuff just take more words.

STARTERS: I found myself loving to do them. I think it started when, in my efforts to feel more at ease approaching people, I would offer to do starters too, especially as I noticed people often took that offer. There’s a part of me that does like to be able to set things up, and in general, I just feel a love for writing starters, and the fact almost everyone seems to enjoy leaving it to me just keeps this cycle of enjoying it. They’re 99% of the time plotted, as I do admit I don’t really  think of starter calls. I do some opens at time, and tend to make new threads out of replies, so notes remain clean, and people can ask me to make a starter out of the idea if the starter itself doesn’t quite work. But, yes, while I don’t often do starter calls, I enjoy doing starters.

INBOX: I’m just as fickle with inbox stuff as with threads. Some inbox stuff are very easy to reply to, and tend to be replied quickly. But some will be like short thread and so I don’t necessarily have the energy to write my muse to reply to the message. I love memes, but I don’t handle well to see a meme on my blog that never got used, so I tend to remove a reblog if I didn’t get a meme. I’ve tried to leave memes and tag them, in the past, but it’s still a work in progress, to reblog memes and leave them here. This is also a big part because I’m fickle enough with everything, so for me, memes are stuff to have fun on the moment, but a day later? I probably don’t have the energy anymore for it. So it just feels too weird to keep memes up, as I mostly use them as “this is the fun I’m okay doing today!”.

SELECTIVITY: I’m both selective and not? I am open to anyone and everything, but I have preferences, so I can be open but choose to not interact, if I can feel I’m not going to have enough inspiration. I look at people rules and about and the general layout of blog, as well as take a quick look around archive to get a feel of the speed, so I always base myself on both what I feel out of the blog, the mun and the muse. As I say in my guidelines, I use follows to show interest, so if I follow you (first or back), you know I have seen your blog, and decided I could see myself interacting with you. I remain open, meaning that you can still approach me and ask for interaction, no matter the follow/mutual status between us! Sometimes I’m just uncertain rather than not interested, and it can help growing certain.

On another note, I’m currently mostly interested in MDZS, which is very ironic but I don’t think I’m the first person who had their muse not be interested in their canon. It’s partly because DGM rpc has been very quiet, I do happen to love when Allen can interact with canon muses of DGM, but I’m not actively looking for them. Meanwhile, I love so very much throwing Allen into other worlds and having people not realize the mess that will follow him eventually (because sometimes even I forget he’s literally part of the core part of a war with the whole world at stake). And MDZS my other fave fandom, ergo: mostly interested in MDZS interactions.

WISHLIST: I have a wishlist tag, which... isn’t on my tag page. That will be corrected very soon. It’s here in the meantime. But yes, I have general plot ideas, which tend to be in headcanon posts, it’s easy to see some that shows up often, but often as I can see these pop up at some point, I don’t make an actual wish out of those. Still, I’ve made a few posts out of some that really made me go “that’s a fun thing to consider” and there’s maybe more I could grab from my hcs post and make proper wishlist post. In general, you can expect I’m always curious to include Allen’s dreams/nightmares, his Innocence, Nea’s presence, CC, Timcanpy, the Ark, or people he knows from DGM.

HONEST NOTE: I’ve realized I’m not as social as I believed myself to be. I’m open, I love to chat and meet people, I adore my friends, but being social is draining to me, never recharging. Any amount of chatting can be draining to me, of course small things are way easier, but the general thing is that I need energy to interact directly with people, be it face to face or chatting online. So you will easily feel like I’m full of energy when I speak ooc with you, because I am always happy to do so, but at the same time, you’ll easily see me be fickle about ooc interactions. Chances are, I indirectly interact too, with ooc posts and my simple presence by any activity I show. There’s just no going against the natural way your energy drains and recharges, so I’ve grown to make sure everyone who interacts with me are aware that’s a thing with me. That, and the knowledge I write both as hobby and as career, so I’m simultaneously always in potential free time and potential creative time. I’m good at handling myself, I’ll know day to day what I can do or cannot do, and it’s just that others can’t really see it for themselves and can only see when I do something that is visible. I could have a very productive day, and no one knows because it’s all offline stuff. Sometimes you’ll know what I’m doing by seeing updates on my fics or my fic blog; and same thing with my original writings. I can only explain all that, both how my social energy is low and easily drained, and how my creative energy cycles between creating and recharging, and has multiple outlets. And then trust anyone that interacts with me or know me to understand all this and know I’ll be back, be it ooc or ic.

On a final note: I’m very, very bad with remembering how long I’ve talked to someone, or a thread has been replied to. My mind goes from “today” to “yesterday” to “a few days ago” to “days ago” and then just... “it’s been some time”. Today/yesterday feel like “its okay, I still have time” and after that, my mind just goes “ngggh when I can!”. Only thing that helps a bit is notification, as without them, I easily forget who I replied or didn’t reply to. To my mind, either I was the last to say something and so I’m waiting a notification, or I have a notification. Because I barely have energy for socializing, I have next to no energy to notice who I haven’t seen a notification from. Sometimes I get my butt to check on people, but I just... my mind just wants to believe people are doing okay or having their own life, and so especially if I can see them on dash, my brain just does not process who I talk or doesn’t talk to on regular basis. It’s narrowed to the notifications I have, and when I have plot to discuss, or see an ooc post. 99% of the time, if I follow you, I am totally aware of you, and I’ll see any ooc stuff, and mentally wish you the best, but I just... never process how long we have or haven’t been talking.

And I don’t think I can make it a clean 10, actually? krbk is obviously at the top right now, and shoritsu is holding my attention a bunch at the moment too! then there’s yulma and laven from dgm, gojyo/hakkai from saiyuki, tokito/kubota from wild adapter... black star/kid from soul eater is def very up high on my list too, and kurofay and syaosaku from tsubasa reservoir chronicles too! doumeki and watanuki from xxxholic hold a very special place in my heart too, really. I have a lot of ships from katekyo hitman reborn but I like all of them as I would like a fave, so none I can give you to make into a top ten list? I’d be able to make a top thirty best ships out of only khr ships hahaha and in the same vein I have a bunch of ships from one piece, but in this case more than shipping it I’m just overly invested in their canon relationships and I don’t much care for fandom content for them..... though, I never say no to some good zolu or lawlu haha 

well, either way I am and I have been into a lot of anime and manga so even just considering ships coming from those I really can’t narrow it down to ten orz but thank you for giving me a chance to ramble on this topic here haha

I’m actually amused about how this ask came around in a period of super low productivity for me haha thank you anon!! I’m glad you have such high opinion of my stuff!! How long it takes me to finish a piece depends on how complex the piece is and how new a thing to draw it is to me, so generally I’d say it goes from around an hour to days of uninterrupted work!

I can confidently say that at some point or another through the past years of shipping it I’ve headcanoned all possibilities, tbh! I like all of them, and I equally enjoy them all! Lately I’ve been stuck on the concept of them sorta forgetting to get married, tho... like, the fact that they’re hero partners gives them all the same legal advantages a marriage would give them and they’ve been dating and living together so long that they’re sort of an item anyway, and maybe at some point through their twenties they exchanged promise rings too, and the public is sorta convinced they are married already anyway so no one brings it up, so they’ll be like, 40 or something, and one day one of their friends will be organizing something or talking about something that requires for them to be actually married and they’ll be like, “holy shit we never did that did we”

When I want to draw based off the canon relationships I will draw based off them anon, it’s a thing of inspiration when I draw for personal pleasure and if I force myself to go one way or another nothing good will come out of it, I’m sure that’s a thing you want as little as I do! But Mina is still one of my favorite girls in the manga and I’m still of the opinion that her design works wonders next to Bakugou’s, so if you’ll be patient I’m sure I’ll feel like drawing the two of them together again! I just ask of you guys to let me draw the boys whenever canon stuff gets my inspiration and mushy feels for them going without making me feel forced to add in Mina as well even if I don’t feel like it
