Im from latin america but i did not watch this on live tv, but when i started watching spn on 2021 i didn’t have tumblr or followed spn related profiles and i was blissfully (or as comfortable as one can be watching spn to be honest) unaware of this.

And omg, i was watching listening to their voices in English but reading the latin american Spanish subs and i just read: y yo a ti and immediately went: wait a second what? And played it again in Spanish and my brain exploded.

It was a fun experience, then i joined tumblr and saw it cause many breakdowns and i was happy i wasn’t the only one who just disconnected while hearing that.

I've said it before, but I will never be over the fact that there are casual viewers of Supernatural in Latin American who live their lives knowing that Dean reciprocated Cas' love because they saw it on their TV.

They're not involved in fandom so they don't know the controversy it caused.

That's just the world they live in, the world where canonically Cas loves Dean and Dean loves Cas just as much because they said so with their words.

If nothing else, as a historian every time I get scared at the state of the world I have to remind myself that "uninteresting times" is a myth.

The world has always been in the throes of chaos and violence and fear, just in different ways and to different degrees. The anxieties of the past are no less real than our own, and we can learn from them. Normality and peace are fleeting, but we can always strive to increase those moments. We have to keep hoping and working for a better future. It's all we have. We may not succeed, but if we don't try, what are we living for?
