"DW, we put the new implant in the same hole" MY ASS
#Its so close to the surface that I could probably remove it myself if I wanted to.#Which. is probably not a good thing for a guy who once gave himself a stick-n-poke#and then dug out the ink with a cuticle pusher#Because he “was worried about the unsanitary pen ink” as if digging out the ink wasn't an even bigger infection risk#I understand it cant be too deep bc of migration risk and stuff but I don't think this is how close to the surface it's supposed to be

“Sit still.”
“I'm sitting fucking still, fox.”
Sukuna did not sit still. He shifted and huffed, not unlike an annoyed, restless bull locked up in a pen–only, he was far from being in a pen and could leave whenever he so wished.
Yet, he stayed. He endured the torture you, his prized possession, put him through for the sake of making good impressions or whatever. But the harvest festival was hardly a big deal–the last time the king was bestowed a gift of any value was when he found himself the owner of a beautifully annoying fox that hid in his garden for a fucking eternity. A prize like that was unlikely to be given again. What else could possibly excite the man who had everything?
Your tails swished behind you dramatically as you shifted on your knees, tilting your head to look over the work you'd done with cleaning and manicuring his nails and hands. Thankfully, you left callouses in place. Not that he thought you'd be so cruel as to remove them, but you certainly had the ability to, considering how soft your own hands were.
“How much more?” Sukuna grumbled.
Your eyes flicked up to his for a moment before returning to your task. “I've hardly finished one hand.”
The king scowled as a child might as you continued gently pushing at his cuticles with the slim, soft stick of an orange tree, carved specially for this occasion. Sure, he was the one who demanded you to turn your self-preening onto him, but still--
Your soft, warm touch cupped under his jaw and lifted his pouty gaze to meet yours. “You asked this of me,” you reminded. “If you've changed your mind, I've other tasks to attend to.”
Sukuna’s lip twitched in an ugly, childish snarl. “You'll stay here and finish your job.”
“Very well.” You leaned up toward him and kissed the spot between his brows before sitting again. But Sukuna followed you, bowing his head to chase a proper kiss that you gave freely, the kind spirit you were. “Then you will have to sit still.”
“Tch.” But he obliged to the best of his abilities. “Already gonna have to sit still for hours while those damn peasants show up and dump scraps at my feet,” he sighed, pulling up a knee and resting an elbow on it.
“My, a kingly thing is complaining about fealty?” You wondered, sarcastic yet cripplingly honest. “While I understand your unwillingness to do anything but fight and kill, you must remind those beneath you of your status.”
Sukuna scoffed. “Yeah? Then why isn't my kyuubi doing just that?”
“I am no king,” you said. “I am simply the servant of one, no? Given to him as a mere offering, yet kept alive for his amusement.”
“Huh. Guess you know your place.” Sukuna shifted, and he noticed you pick up the pace, tending to him a bit quicker lest the restless beast lose his patience and leave with the job incomplete. He wouldn’t leave, not when he hungered for your attention and touch more than anything else the pathetic world could offer him–only something from the divine plane could satiate him.
“Mh.” You raised his hand and pressed his knuckles to your lips, then against the soft plushness of your cheek. “My place is by my king’s side. It will forever remain that way.”
–
You left his side. You left him, your pious saviour, your sworn king, your chosen mate, in favour of–what? Freedom? Adventure? Men? Women? What was it?
Thunder echoed in Sukuna’s chest as he paced. He’d swept through towns, destroyed any houses you might have been sequestered in, searched vacant shrines and the like, but never caught a glimpse of your ebony tails nor your decorated kimono. It drove him mad. How had he not noticed? Did the harvest festivities really engulf his mind? Sure, they were more eventful this year, what with clansmen attempting revenge in the name of their fallen brethren, but it’d only been a week of problems–nothing challenging, nothing that really, truly required his full attention. And still–
“Sukuna-sama,” Uraume called, interrupting his buzzing thoughts.
“What?” The king snapped, turning on his heel to face Uraume standing at his chamber door. “If this is about anything other than my fucking fox, then–”
“Please, come,” they said. “I believe I’ve found an explanation.”
Sukuna’s eyes narrowed. Uraume sounded calm, not that they ever sounded particularly frantic, but they seemed…happy, maybe? Some weird kind of content, perhaps. It wasn’t something Sukuna was used to seeing on their placid face, though it’d become more common ever since you entered their lives and made yourself at home. The frost sorcerer had a soft spot for you. Sukuna couldn’t blame them.
“Pray tell what the fuck the explanation is,” Sukuna grumbled as he followed his subordinate, arms all crossed and tensed.
“I’m certain I’ve found the whereabouts of your beloved.” Uraume slid open the door leading to the gardens in the back and walked on. “In the absence of (Name), I decided to tend to the gardens myself. In doing so, I found something quite peculiar–a hidden grove of sorts.”
Sukuna’s fury morphed into prickling, fiery intrigue. “Bullshit. I’ve been all over this fucking garden with that fox. I know the ins and outs.”
“Then it would not surprise me if he indeed kept this a secret from you.”
Sukuna grumbled. “He knows better.”
“I don’t believe it’d be intentional,” Uraume said, “but I believe his instincts may have influenced him to secure a quiet, safe place for the future.”
The king relaxed. Electricity sparked weakly in his fingertips first, then throughout the rest of his body when everything started falling into place–you wanted all eyes to be on him, you didn’t want anyone to look at you during the festival. Your cheeks had grown fuller, your body more plush, your desire to snuggle and snooze went through the roof. Could you have been–?
Uraume stepped toward a thicket of trees in the far corner of the garden–one that Sukuna indeed had never bothered with, considering it looked full of trees and foliage and definitely not a spot to meander on your shared morning walks–before ducking under thick branches and pushing aside flimsy bushes.
Sukuna followed with a little more brute force, nearly ripping the pesky foliage out of the way and half-considering decimating the trees that dare whip him in the face with a cluster of leaves. But you’d probably get pissy if he did that. A pissy fox was fun, but also withheld sex, and that was a no-go for Sukuna these days, considering his concubines just weren’t doing it for him as of late.
Sure enough, Uraume’s words rang true. The grove was small and cozy, letting in warm dappling sunlight while shielding itself from the prying eyes of the outside world. In the very corner of the garden and the evident centrepiece of the grove, stood an immense weeping willow, one with a formidable trunk and thick, gnarled branches reaching up to drape long curtains of green like cascading waterfalls around itself. Truly, it felt like a separate little world would be hidden in there, behind swaying vines and rustling leaves.
“You gotta be shitting me,” Sukuna muttered, stepping past his right hand to push aside the foliage, revealing a black fox curled up in the hollowed trunk of that very tree.
You didn’t stir when he approached. Something uneasy curled in Sukuna’s gut, but once he sat himself in front of the mouth to your little den, he spied the steady breathing shifting your small form, and calmed–until he saw something else wiggling against you, chirping and squeaking with pathetic, fragile voices. At first, he thought it was some sort of parasite sucking you of your lifeforce, but he realized too quickly that what he beheld were two, tiny kits, both covered in fluffy brown-black fur, both keenly aware of the presence of a curious new man sitting before them.
Sukuna tensed when they approached him. Their chubby bellies knocked their weak, stubby legs off balance, but they persevered best they could, bumbling their way through trampled leaves and grass, and finally reaching the crossed legs of the king. Tiny paws papped at his pant legs before they hazarded climbing the formidable mountain before them And despite Sukuna’s hesitation, he hastily held their butts before they fell off of him like the stupid, dumb babies they were. They were his stupid, dumb babies, after all. Best to take care of them.
“It appears he went somewhere quiet to nest,” Uraume hummed, sounding far too pleased as they watched the king handle fox kits. “Perhaps the festival was too stressful.”
“Tch. Could’ve shot the runts out inside,” Sukuna mumbled, half-heartedly annoyed. “Coulda said somethin’.”
“He could have,” Uraume agreed, an air of ‘but what’s done is done’ clinging to their words.
Sukuna sighed. “What a pain in the ass.” His eyes flicked to you again. He expected you to wake up, to snap at him like the feral thing you were. He expected you to calm after recognizing him. Maybe he expected you to curl up in his lap, too. Or did he just want that?
But you stayed sleeping. Content and safe under the shelter of your lover and the stalwart embrace of a weeping willow. Perhaps it was thanking you for your kind care with the way it soothed your soul and kept you hidden away. Sukuna wouldn't doubt it for a second. The garden acted differently ever since you claimed it as your own.
“Shall we take them back?” Uraume asked.
The king thought for a long moment, sifting through selfish desires and rational decisions before coming to his conclusion: “Leave ‘em. He'll probably throw a damn fit if we interfere. You know how gods are–annoying and irrational as hell when they don't get their way.”
His subordinate smiled. “Very well.”
–
Winter’s first frost came, and you returned to his side.
You woke him with a classic move–standing on his chest and staring at him expectantly until he woke up and gave you attention. You didn’t do it as much anymore, not ever since you found yourself in the midst of a thousand responsibilities and daily quests, but every once in a while, like when your lover would return from long journeys, you’d pester him endlessly for pets, scritches and kisses.
But this time, once his heavy eyes opened, he not only saw you standing atop his chest, but a chubby pup caught in your maw, too.
Sukuna blinked away his grogginess just as you gingerly placed the babe on his collarbone, tucking him underneath the king's chin. One of his large hands flew up to ensure the kit (his kit) didn't slip off when you let go and trotted away with purpose.
“Fox,” Sukuna grumbled, displeased with your hasty retreat. Thankfully, you trotted back up to him a handful of moments later and placed a second ball of fluff on his chest before settling down beside him and watching.
“Tch. Took you long enough,” the king huffed as he tried his damndest to be careful and gentle with the little ones. “Was about to drag your sorry ass in here myself.”
I see. If you were so desperate for my company, you could have simply requested it, you countered.
Sukuna sucked his teeth and huffed. “Like it woulda been that easy.” Nothing was that easy with you–and Sukuna liked it. If you gave in, if you tended to his every fleeting want and need, you'd be too boring, frankly.
It is unlike you to not try. You shifted and wormed your way into his arms and half onto his chest, right beside the two snoozing kits you'd worked hard to bring up while Sukuna was off fighting, killing and maiming. But that was expected; servants and bedded beasts were to stay and make a home, weren't they?
“Tch. I let you have your way for once and this is how you act?” Your partner admired your foxen features and traced his fingertips along your snout, between your eyes, to the top of your little skull before scritching behind your ears. You leaned into the touch, eyes falling closed with the meagerest offering of affection.
Shall I praise you and bow at your feet once I am able? You teased.
“Bending over'll do the trick.” Sukuna smirked when you huffed. “How long you gotta stay as a shitty mutt anyway?”
Until they wean. I'm not certain as to how long that will take.
“Not even a guess?”
Perhaps another week or so. You turned your nose to the two small fluffs and groomed the tops of their heads. They're becoming more independent. More willing to explore. I take that as a good sign for their development.
“Huh. Good.” A strange coil relaxed in Sukuna's chest, and he braved petting them with a single finger again. “‘N how long ‘til these two learn to play human?”
Not for some time, but I will help them until they master it themselves. You nipped at Sukuna's hand as a third rose to come pester you. You should not pray for them to be human too soon. They will terrorize you. I have seen such chaos before.
Sukuna grinned. “Ho? You forget who their father is?” Your sigh echoed in his mind, and his smile split wider. “I can handle anything.”
–
Kazuya and Genji took too much after you and your mischievous heritage.
Too often Uraume would find them in baskets of produce, happily munching away like they were supposed to be in there. Other times, they'd be caught stealing shiny jewelry or knick knacks from the king's concubines and servants. They'd sometimes even take Sukuna's clothes and run amok with them, using them as toys or completely shredding them.
You, he who had birthed and raised them, were swift when it came to correcting them. You were, of course, the prime example of a kitsune, and therefore found their treasure stashes, foretold of their destructive crimes, and knew when they'd be off to steal food. You were like them, once, after all.
And maybe that's why you had a peculiar pep to your step. Once the boys found their devious personalities, you bothered lifting your tails from the floor. No longer did you let them drag and droop like limp noodles hanging from chopsticks. You seemed…prouder. Livelier. Perhaps being amongst your own gave you a sense of belonging, of hope.
Belonging, huh? Tch, what a load of shit. Sukuna mused as he rested his cheek against his fist, lounging while he watched you wrangle the twins from his spot under a shady tree. Spring was here, and that meant the runts were now terrorizing the great outdoors.
More accurately, they were following you around like two tiny shadows, too eager to waddle after you as you moved along the paths, sowing seeds and pruning withered leaves as you went. The tots picked up whatever your tending cast to the ground, and they held each thistle, leaf and twig close in tiny, pudgy hands like they were rabbit's feet. Strange little things.
He lost sight of you and the bumbling babies eventually, but your light chatter flitted through the brush and kept him company for a time. The sound of leaves crunching underfoot accompanied your walk as you came back around, closer and closer and–through the garden itself? Wait–
“RAH!” A little voice cried before a littler body launched onto Sukuna.
“Ha?” The king quirked a brow and looked at the little thing biting and kicking at his arm like a spastic cat. “What the hell is this?”
“He's trying to play with you,” you said as you wandered back into view, voice airy and light. “They wrestle.”
Sukuna held his arm up to get a better look at the runt nibbling on him. “This is supposed to be playing? Damn thing's acting feral.”
“Because he's young.” You settled down beside your lover, adjusting your robes and such to ensure they cascaded and pooled around you attractively. “One day, he'll ask you to teach him how to fight. How to use cursed techniques.”
Sukuna's expression almost softened. “Huh. That so?”
“Mh.” You smoothed Kazuya's hair back as he settled in your lap, choosing peace over violence, unlike Genji. “They are yours. I've no doubt they'll have the same hunger for strife and knowledge.”
They are yours. The words nearly made Sukuna sick; they weren't his per sè, they were a result of his relentless attempts to tie you down and make you stay with him no matter the cost. They only shared half of his genetics, they didn't rule his every thought nor own half of his heart. That all belonged to you.
But then why did he feel…trepidatious? The way he once felt too long ago when he knew nothing of the world and met too many cruel hands from the moment he opened his eyes. Maybe because these little ones were that age, able to run around and cause problems where they ought to not. Maybe because messing with the wrong person might not end with them slaughtering he who had the audacity to harm them, but with their young lives being lost.
Ah. That must have been it–the petulance of his own kind pissed Sukuna off to no end. The thought of extensions of himself being looked down on brought about creeping waves of disgust and distaste. Humans were the ones who thought themselves godly enough to kill Sukuna. Humans were the ones who thought themselves mighty enough to enslave and breed a divine beast. The little ones were destined to share humanity's ire, and it pissed him off. It really pissed him off.
“Yeah,” Sukuna decided, shaking his arm to test Genji's ability to cling onto him. “I'll show ‘em a thing or two. Can't have humans beating the shit outta some godlings just for fun.”
“Well, if one were to try, I'd kill them myself,” you cooed like it was the most romantic thing in the world. “Level their village, light the sky ablaze.”
“Now you're speakin’ my language,” Sukuna said, grinning.

okay so i was reading about the crazy rat parabiosis experiments (they gave a rat a brain lesion to make it obese and then hooked its blood up to another rat. and the other rat didnt eat at all and starved. science) and i noticed this crazy diagram
so i checked the paper it's from, and...
The moth was deeply anesthetized with carbon dioxide. The antennae and the fore and midlegs were excised and melted wax was applied with a drawing-pen to cover the entire head and prothorax. Then, with a single transverse cut, the head was removed to leave a collar of wax at the anterior open end of the prothorax. Crystals of an equal-part mixture of phenylthiourea and streptomycin sulfate wer placed in the wound along with enough Ringer's solution to fill the cavity
The pupal partner was deeply anesthetized with carbon dioxide and a disc of integument, about 4 mm. in diameter, was cut from the mesothoracic tergum. Th underlying epidermis was trimmed away with microscissors, care being taken t avoid any damage to the aorta which extends beneath the midline at this point. Melted wax was applied to the integument around the margin of the wound Crystals of phenylthiourea and streptomycin were placed in the wound and the cavity was filled with a few drops of Ringer's solution
The two animals were oriented in a cradle of plasticene and the wax-coated openings were brought into juxtaposition. The pupal abdomen was compressed until the pupal blood filled the narrow opening between the animals, all air being thereby displaced. The junction was then sealed with melted wax to yield a parabiotic preparation such as shown in Figure 1
The preparation was then removed from the anesthesia funn 25? C. Under this condition, the moth commonly initiated ener its wings. In order to prohibit this activity, the wings were pl jaws of a spring-loaded clothes-pin.
okay. so they stuck some moths and pupas together. insane, but like. whatever. i guess. EXCEPT heres what happened
Forty preparations were assembled, of which ten soon died and Table II summarizes the several types of experiments that were p each of the 30 viable preparations the pupal partner initiated adu within ten days at 25? C. Attention is directed to the effects of on the course of this developmen
When the headless partner was a male or female Polyphemus underwent normal adult development. The same was true in 7 of 8 preparations in which the headless partner was a female Cecropia moth. But in all ten prepations in which the headless partner was a male Cecropia moth, the pupa metamorphosed, not into a normal moth, but into a creature which retained lar of pupal cuticle (Fig. 2). It seems necessary to conclude that a male C moth, though headless and without any corpora allata, can somehow favor release of juvenile hormone within the parabiotic preparation
In the analysis of these experiments we have centered attention on the effe the parabiosis on the pupal partner. But, what about the developmental of the other half of the combination-the headless moth? For present purposes suffice it to say that in about a third of the preparations the developmental re of the pupa spread to the adult partner and caused the latter to molt. Th extended over both the thorax and abdomen, but never included the win old adult cuticle was detached from the underlying epidermis and replace smooth new cuticle which was of adult type, except for the generalized of scales or hairs.
this is fucked up huh. the pupa and the moth fucked each other up. neither of them metamorphosed right. also apparently the moths lived longer. moths...

Big Long Nail Care Post
I got into nail painting during the pandemic, partly because I was bored in lockdown but mostly because washing my hands constantly was making my terrible hangnails even worse, and I figured if I was painting my nails, I'd have to pay attention to my hands and that would help me stop going all Black Swan on my cuticles.
Anyway, I have amassed more knowledge than anyone needs about nails, polish, and nail care, so hopefully this information is of use to somebody.
Natural Nail Care
Cuticles
Image taken from Dipwell.co
The cuticle is dead skin that builds up at the base of your nails. It exists to cover the opening where the nail emerges from your skin, to protect against infection. However, if too much skin builds up on the nail, it can become inflamed or snag on objects, peeling back and damaging the living skin it's attached to. To prevent this from happening, you remove the cuticle by pushing it back or cutting the dead skin away.
Cuticle Remover
A cuticle remover is a solution that helps to soften the cuticle skin, making it easier to remove. Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover is available in pretty much every US drugstore, but there also are vegan cuticle removers and homemade recipes. For some people, just soaking their nails in warm water is sufficient to soften the cuticle.
Pushing Back Cuticles
After softening the cuticles, use either the flattened end of an orange stick or a cuticle pusher to push back the cuticle. Apply gentle pressure and do not jab the tool into the base of your nail. Use small back and forth motions until the cuticle is removed. This process may look torturous, but because the cuticle is dead skin, you don't feel anything.
This is hard to describe in text, so here's a video:
NAIL CARE ♥ PERFECT CUTICLES
Cutting Cuticles
Cutting cuticles is a controversial decision. Because the cuticle exists to protect against infection, cutting too far and causing an open wound is a health risk. If you choose to cut your cuticles, be aware of the risk. Make sure your cuticle nipper is washed before use, and wash your hands before and after cutting. If you accidentally cut yourself during the process, wash the wound and apply an antiseptic.

Nail Oil
Nails that are hydrated are less prone to breaking or peeling, whether at the cuticle, the free edge, or anywhere in between. Nail oil can be purchased ready made, or you can use jojoba oil. Many jojoba oils come with a dropper, or you can buy an empty twist pen, fill it with oil, and refill it once you've emptied it. If you find jojoba oil on its own is too runny to work with, mix it with a small amount of Vitamin E gel.
As with all skincare products, test for a reaction on a small, inconspicuous area of your skin before using.
To use nail oil, apply a small amount to the base of the nail. Rub it around the nail base, across the nail itself, into the sides of the nail, and under the free edge of the nail. Repeated as needed.
If you are wearing nail polish, apply the nail oil at the base and sides of the nail and under the free edge.
Nail Shaping
Nail Clippers
If you are not trying to grow out your nails, using nail clippers to cut them is fine. If you are trying to grow your nails, filing is better than clipping because the pressure that the blades of the clipper put on your nail can cause the nail to snap lower than intended.
Nail File
Glass nail files are preferable over emery boards, as they last longer and are less rough. Nail oil needs to be applied before any sort of filing so that the file does not crack the nail or split the layers of the nail. File your nails in one direction at a time rather than back and forth so there's less risk of breakage.
Do NOT file your nails after a shower or bath. Water seeps between the layers of your nail and they are more prone to splitting.

Nail Buffers
Unless your nails are very thick, do not buff your nails. Buffing the nail means sanding down the top layers of your nail plate, making it thinner and more prone to breakage and splitting.
If your nails are ridged, look for a smoothing base coat to fill in ridges. If your nails are stained from dark polishes, do not buff or whiten your nails. Use a base coat before applying polish. Look for a base coat that prevents staining.
Why yellow nails DON'T MATTER / Don't whiten your nails
Nail Growth
Nail hardeners do not help your nail grow; they actually make the nail more prone to breakage by making the nail plate stiffer and more likely to snap rather than bend when stressed.
Nail oil helps the nail stay hydrated and flexible, which makes it less likely to break. A non-hardening nail polish can also help protect nails without making them too rigid.
If your nails are very brittle or will not grow at all, seek medical advice.

Nail Problems
Sudden changes to your nails should be examined by a doctor. While some issues with nails, such as ridges, can be related to age, skin conditions such as eczema, trauma to the nail matrix, or other relatively harmless causes, some issues can be signs of serious underlying conditions. Your doctor will be able to advise how to treat any changes to your nails and whether you would benefit from biotin vitamins or other treatments.

Nail Polish
There are three main formulas of nail polish: solvent-based, water-based, and gel.
Solvent-based polishes, also called oil-based polishes, are the standard nail polishes you find in most stores. They consist of pigments suspended in an oil or solvent base. When the base dries on the nail, the pigment is left behind. These polishes are the easiest to find and to use.
Water-based polishes suspend their pigment in water rather than a solvent. They do not have the strong odor associated with traditional polishes. However, they can be difficult to remove. I would recommend using a water-based peel-off base coat with water-based polish for easier removal.
Gel polishes do not dry with exposure to air; instead, they need to be cured with a UV light. Gel polishes are known for their durability and are often used in salon manicures because they will last for a month or more. Removing gel polish is a long process that involves soaking the fingertips in acetone, which can leave the underlying nails thin and brittle.
I have never used gel polish, but here are two video tutorials:
DIY Gel Nails! how to do gel nails at home
Apply & Remove Gel Polish Perfectly At Home
Types of Nail Polish:
Base Coat: Typically clear, this polish goes on your bare nail to help the polish adhere and last longer. There are various types of base coat depending on your needs: Long-lasting base coats, smoothing base coats, peel-off base coats, stain-blocking base coats, and more.
Creme: The most common type of a nail polish, a creme polish is an opaque colored solvent.
Jelly: Jelly polishes are colored but translucent.
Glitter: A clear or jelly base with glitter suspended inside.
Holographic: A polish containing holographic pigments or glitters which refract light and create a rainbow effect.
Clear: A colorless nail polish. Often used interchangeably with a top coat, but not all clear polishes are top coats.
Topper: Also separate from a top coat, a topper is intended to be painted over a creme polish. It may contain glitter, confetti, or other decorative elements.
Top coat: A hard clear coat that protects the paint underneath from damage and chipping. A quick dry top coat will surface dry within minutes, allowing you to go about your life without ruining your nails so long as you don't dig them into something. Get yourself a quick dry top coat, it will save your life.
Most top coats have a glossy finish, but there are matte top coats as well. Matte top coats typically have a mattifying effect without protective qualities, so you may want to apply a matte top coat over a regular top coat.
Note: Because quick dry top coats harden with exposure to air, the polish will become thicker the more it is used and the more air gets into the bottle. This is true of all polishes but happens especially fast with quick dry top coats. For this reason, I recommend buying a nail polish thinner.

Other Products
Nail Polish Remover: Typically containing acetone. Water-based polishes may require their own specific removers.
Nail Polish Thinner: Used to thin nail polish and make it easier to spread.
Clean Up Brush: An angled brush that is dipped in nail polish remover and used during the painting process to remove any polish that got on the skin or in the cuticle. You can use a q-tip or regular paintbrush for this purpose, but the bristles of a clean up brush will be less damaged by acetone exposure than a regular paint or makeup brush.
Striping Tape: A thin tape that is laid on the nail to help keep lines straight and even when painting stripes. Can then be removed or left on as a decorative element.
Nail Vinyls: Stickers that are placed on the nail temporarily during painting and removed while the polish is still wet. They may be used to paint the white edge of a French tip manicure, or they may be used to make a more intricate design.
Nail Powder: A nail polish alternative that is buffed into a base coat. Typically a gel base coat is used.
Striping Brushes: Very thin brushes used to paint fine details on nails.
Dotting Tool/Bobby Pin: Used to create small circles on the nail.
Stamper/Stamping Plate: A silicone stamper that lifts a nail polish design off an etched metal plate and transfers it to the nail.
Makeup Sponge: Can be used to more densely pack glitter polish onto the nail. Can also be used to create a gradient effect with different polishes on the nail.
Painting Your Nails
Begin by rubbing the nail plate with rubbing alcohol or pure acetone. Do not use a nail polish remover containing a moisturizer. The purpose of this step is to dry out the nail plate to help the polish adhere, so moisturizers defeat the purpose.
Apply a base coat. Leave a small gap between your nail plate and your cuticle where there is no polish. Once the base coat is touch-dry, apply as many layers of your main color as needed. Once finished, apply a quick dry top coat. The top coat will be fully dry in roughly twenty minutes and surface dry very quickly.
Note: Clean up mistakes as you go! Polish on your skin becomes harder to remove and stains more the longer it dries. Make sure that you paint the tip of your free edge with the base coat, top coat, and at least one coat of your color. Doing this helps the polish to adhere and makes it less likely to chip. You can do this on short nails as well, you will just need to clean the surrounding skin with remover once you've painted the tip. If you get the polish in your cuticle, you can clean that up with the brush as well. To help your manicure last, avoid submerging your hands in water for extended periods. Use gloves when washing dishes.

Crowsie's nail recovery recs
Below is a short list of products that help me with nail recovery. It's not at all comprehensive. Items marked with an asterisk (*) are essentials. Everything else is just nice to have. All links are to Amazon, but I'm sure you can get most of these at your local grocery or drug store.
Mani supplies
*A basic manicure set, comes with all the musts.
Orange sticks
Very thin cotton swabs - better for cleaning around your nails than the normal-sized ones.
*100% Acetone, for removing polish and drying your nail plate before polish application. Mandatory for gel, but you can use regular nail polish remover if you're using regular nail polish. I prefer you get this locally, but I'll add an Amazon listing anyway.
*Isopropyl alcohol - I prefer to use this for nail dehydration and polish clean up as it's slightly gentler than acetone on your bare skin. I also suggest you just get this at the store. 91/99% is better for drying your nails, while 70% is a slightly superior antiseptic. They're pretty much interchangeable so don't sweat if you can only find one.
My fav rubberized base - not 100% mandatory but highly recommended if your nails are thin. Small nail art brushes - Handy(hue) for painting on polish if your nails are too small or wonky-shaped for standard brushes. Also useful for getting stray polish off of your skin
Cuticle remover - Apply to cuticles then wait a minute. Push the skin back then wash and thoroughly dry your hands. If you can't get Blue Cross, Sally Hansen makes a nice gel one that only costs a few dollars.
Buffer blocks - Never use a filer lower than 200 grit on your bare nails.
Builder gel - Great for smoothing out pitted, wonky or split nails. Don't use over broken skin. Top and base coat (includes shiny and matte) (*if you're using gel)A simple UV light for curing gel polish Liquid latex for messy painters - Expensive but worth it. Put a card or something over the bottle while you're using it so it doesn't gum up.
Cuticle oil
Pure Jojoba oil - 2-3 small dots are more than enough for your hand. Concentrate it on your nail and cuticle.
Sweet almond oil - A great carrier oil for other essential oils and just nice on its own
Rosehip oil - Optional, I like the benefits.
The scents I use (you can use whatever you want so long as it's oil soluble and skin safe)
Dropper bottles for portability - I keep these on tables and dressers around the home.
Brush pens for portability - Perfect to keep in purses or pockets.
First aid/hand care
Bandages for bleeding or open boo-boos. Hard as Hoof creme - Very emollient and nourishing. A small amount will do your whole hand. I love this stuff.
Bert's Bees cuticle cream - Nice but has a strong lemon oil scent. Skip if that sounds at all appetizing.
Rubber kitchen gloves - Your new kitchen buddies. Don't so much as LOOK at the dishes in your sink without wearing a pair of these. Also, get these locally. The prices are insane online lol. Nivea Soft cream - I prefer this for my hands over the iconic blue-tinned stuff. It's thinner and goes on way less greasy.

Elevate Your Nail Care Routine with Cuticle Oils from Lemero
Nail care is an essential part of personal grooming that often gets overlooked. While manicures and nail polish can enhance the beauty of your nails, the true secret to healthy and stunning nails lies in the proper care of your cuticles. This is where cuticle oils come into play, and Lemero's collection of cuticle oil pens and bottles is designed to provide the nourishment and hydration your nails need.
Why Cuticle Care is Important
The cuticle is the thin layer of skin at the base of your nails, and it serves as a protective barrier against infections. Neglecting your cuticles can lead to dryness, hangnails, and even infections, which can affect the overall health and appearance of your nails. Incorporating cuticle oil into your nail care routine can help prevent these issues, ensuring your nails remain strong and beautiful.
The Benefits of Using Cuticle Oils
Hydration and Nourishment: Cuticle oils are formulated with nourishing ingredients like vitamin E, jojoba oil, and almond oil that penetrate deep into the skin, providing essential moisture and nutrients. This helps to keep your cuticles soft, supple, and healthy.
Improved Nail Growth: Regular use of cuticle oil can promote healthy nail growth. By keeping the cuticles and surrounding skin hydrated, cuticle oil ensures that new nail growth is smooth and strong.
Protection Against Damage: Cuticle oils create a protective barrier that helps to shield your nails and cuticles from environmental damage, such as exposure to water, harsh chemicals, and cold weather.
Lemero's Range of Cuticle Oils
At Lemero, we understand the importance of high-quality nail care products. Our collection includes a variety of cuticle oils designed to meet your specific needs. Whether you prefer the convenience of a nail oil pen or the traditional cuticle oil bottle, we have the perfect solution for you.
Nail Oil Pen: Precision and Convenience
The nail oil pen is a revolutionary product that combines precision with convenience. This handy tool allows you to apply cuticle oil with accuracy, ensuring that every part of your cuticle receives the nourishment it needs. The compact design makes it easy to carry in your bag, so you can keep your cuticles hydrated on the go. The nail oil pen is perfect for those who want a quick and mess-free application.
Cuticle Oil Bottle: Traditional and Effective
For those who prefer a more traditional approach, the cuticle oil bottle is a classic choice. Our cuticle oil bottles are filled with a potent blend of natural oils that provide deep hydration and nourishment. The dropper applicator ensures you can easily control the amount of oil you use, making it perfect for at-home nail care routines.
Cuticle Oil Pens: Variety and Versatility
Our range of cuticle oil pens offers variety and versatility. Available in different formulations and scents, these pens are designed to cater to different preferences and needs. Whether you need intense hydration, quick absorption, or a delightful fragrance, there's a cuticle oil pen for you. The pen format ensures precise application, making it easy to target specific areas without any wastage.
How to Use Cuticle Oil
Incorporating cuticle oil into your nail care routine is simple and highly effective. Here’s a step-by-step guide to get you started:
Cleanse Your Nails: Start with clean, dry nails. Remove any nail polish and wash your hands thoroughly.
Apply the Oil: If you're using a nail oil pen, twist the end to dispense the oil and gently brush it onto your cuticles. For a cuticle oil bottle, use the dropper to apply a small amount of oil to each cuticle.
Massage In: Gently massage the oil into your cuticles and the skin around your nails. This helps to stimulate blood flow and ensures the oil is absorbed effectively.
Let It Absorb: Allow the oil to absorb for a few minutes before applying any nail polish or other nail products. For best results, use cuticle oil daily, especially before bedtime.

Enhancing Aesthetic Care: Discoloration Treatment and Cosmetic Improvement for Clear Nails
When it comes to aesthetic care and self-confidence, clear, healthy-looking nails play a significant role. However, issues like discoloration can be quite common, causing individuals to feel self-conscious or even embarrassed. Fear not, as effective discoloration treatments and cosmetic improvements are available to restore the beauty and health of your nails. In this article, we will explore the benefits of discoloration treatment, cosmetic improvement, and how to achieve clear nails through comprehensive aesthetic care. 1. Understanding Discoloration and Its Causes: Discoloration of the nails can occur due to several reasons, ranging from underlying health conditions to lifestyle habits. Fungal infections, trauma, excessive use of nail polish, smoking, and poor hygiene are some common causes. Identifying the root cause is vital to determine the most suitable treatment approach. 2. Discoloration Treatment Options: a. Fungal Infection Treatment: Fungal infections are a common cause of nail discoloration. To treat such infections, antifungal medications, both oral and topical, are often prescribed. Additionally, the affected nails may need to be filed down to reduce thickness and allow the medication to penetrate more effectively. b. Laser Therapy: Laser therapy is a non-invasive and effective treatment option. It works by targeting the infected or discolored areas, killing the fungus, and promoting nail regrowth. Laser therapy is a safe procedure with minimal discomfort and can be completed in a few short sessions. c. Chemical Removal: In cases of severe discoloration, chemical removal may be necessary to eliminate the affected nail. This procedure involves applying an appropriate chemical solution to the nail, which dissolves and removes the discolored portion. Subsequently, a new nail will grow in its place. 3. Cosmetic Improvement for Clear Nails: a. Nail Whitening Techniques: Nail whitening can be achieved through various techniques, including the use of whitening pens, whitening kits, or homemade remedies. Whitening pens contain hydrogen peroxide or sodium hypochlorite, helping to restore the natural color of the nails. Whitening kits often include specially formulated creams or scrubs that gently remove stains and discoloration. Similarly, homemade remedies utilizing lemon juice, baking soda, or hydrogen peroxide can also yield positive results. b. Nail Polish and Concealers: Applying a high-quality nail polish can help conceal discoloration and enhance the appearance of your nails. Opt for lighter shades that complement your skin tone and provide a natural look. Additionally, nail concealers, which come in the form of creams or powders, can be utilized to effectively mask any remaining discoloration. c. Regular Hygiene and Nail Care: Maintaining proper hygiene and establishing a regular nail care routine are essential aspects of cosmetic improvement. Trim your nails regularly, keep them clean and dry, and avoid excessive use of harsh nail care products. Moisturize your nails and cuticles to promote strength and minimize the risk of discoloration. 4. Aesthetic Care for Long-Term Maintenance: a. Protecting Your Nails: Preventing future nail discoloration is crucial for long-term maintenance. Minimize exposure to excessive moisture and harsh chemicals, wear protective gloves when using cleaning agents, and avoid prolonged contact with water. Additionally, try to limit your use of nail polish removers containing acetone, as they can dehydrate and weaken your nails. b. Nutrition and Supplementation: Adequate nutrition plays a vital role in maintaining healthy nails. Ensure your diet includes a variety of nutrients, such as vitamins A, C, E, and biotin, which promote nail strength and integrity. In cases where dietary sources are insufficient, supplements can be considered with the guidance of a healthcare professional. Conclusion: Discoloration treatment and cosmetic improvement techniques offer effective solutions for achieving clear and aesthetically pleasing nails. By understanding the causes of discoloration and utilizing suitable treatment options, you can take a step towards restoring the natural elegance of your nails. Additionally, investing in regular nail care, protecting your nails, and maintaining a nutritious diet will contribute to long-term maintenance and overall aesthetic care. How to Avoid Some Common Nail Polish Mistakes!
Introduction
Every girl loves nails. They are a canvas for self-expression, a reflection of our personalities, and an accessory that never goes out of style. Whether you’re a fan of classic reds, chic nudes, or adventurous neons, the right nail polish can elevate your look and make a statement before you even say a word.
But applying nail polish is an art. It requires patience, precision, and a bit of know-how. Even the most seasoned nail enthusiasts can make mistakes that lead to chipped, uneven, or dull nails. And let’s face it, no one wants to show off a manicure that’s less than perfect.
This blog will tell you about common nail polish mistakes to avoid and provide tips and tricks for achieving a flawless manicure. So without further ado, let's get started.
Common Mistakes While Applying Nail Polish
Applying nail polish colours may seem like a simple task, but it’s easy to make mistakes that can ruin your manicure. Here are some common pitfalls to avoid:
Not Prepping the Nails Properly: The first step to a flawless manicure is prepping your nails. This includes cleaning your nails, removing old polish, filing your nails to your desired shape, and applying a base coat. Skipping any of these steps can lead to a manicure that chips easily or doesn’t last as long.
Applying Thick Coats: It’s tempting to apply a thick coat of polish to get the nail polish shade you want in one go, but this is a mistake. Thick coats take longer to dry and are more likely to smudge or get dented. Instead, apply thin coats and build up the colour gradually. This will result in a smoother finish and a longer-lasting manicure.
Skipping Base Coat or Top Coat: The base coat helps the polish adhere to your nails and prevents staining, while the top coat seals in the colour and adds shine. Skipping either of these can affect the longevity and appearance of your manicure.
Not Giving Enough Drying Time: Patience is key when it comes to nail polish. If you don’t give each coat enough time to dry before applying the next, you risk smudging your polish or ending up with bubbles on your nails.
Using Old or Expired Products: Like all cosmetics, nail polish has a shelf life. Using old or expired polish can lead to a lumpy application and a dull finish. Make sure to regularly clean out your nail polish collection and replace any old or expired products.

Tips for Perfect Nail Polish Application
Apart from the above mistakes, there are a few additional tips for achieving a perfect nail polish application.
Hydrate Your Nails: Just like your skin, your nails need hydration too. Apply a moisturiser or cuticle oil regularly to keep your nails and cuticles healthy and strong.
Avoid Using Your Nails as Tools: Using your nails to open cans or peel off stickers can cause them to break or chip. Use the proper tools instead to keep your nails in good shape.
Choose the Right Polish: Not all nail polishes are created equal. Look for polishes that are free from harmful chemicals like toluene, formaldehyde, and dibutyl phthalate.
Store Your Nail Polish Correctly: Nail polish should be stored in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Improper storage can cause the polish to thicken or separate.
Use a Corrector Pen for Precision: A nail polish corrector pen can be a lifesaver for fixing small mistakes without ruining your entire manicure.
Take Breaks Between Manicures: Constantly wearing nail polish can make your nails dry and brittle. It’s important to give your nails a break every now and then to keep them healthy.
Conclusion
Applying nail polish is an art that requires patience, precision, and practice. From prepping your nails properly to giving enough drying time between coats, several factors can make the difference between a flawless finish and a manicure that’s less than perfect.
Insight Make-up Essentials is committed to helping you achieve the perfect manicure every time with its wide range of nail polish shades. So the next time you pick up that bottle of nail polish, keep these tips in mind. You’ll be surprised at how a few small changes can make a big difference.

HOW DO YOU WRITE A SHAMROCK ON NAILS?
Prepare to show off your holiday cheer with this wonderful guide on how to draw a shamrock on nails! A traditional nail art pattern for St. Patrick's Day is the quintessential representation of Irish pride. We will share the techniques for getting a manicure with short nails creating a shamrock on nails in this article. It's simpler than you would imagine! Prepare to impress your pals with your artistic prowess.
1. HOW TO DRAW A SHAMROCK ON NAILS: ESSENTIALS
You must first find some inspiration. Learn to draw a shamrock by finding a picture of one. Practice drawing it small enough for your nails after drawing it huge.
Clearly, drawing a shamrock with a pencil or pen differs greatly from doing so with a nail polish brush. The bottle's brush is much thicker, more flexible, and more difficult to manage. You require line art gel polish for this reason. It has a tiny brush that is prepared to draw fine lines. Here is an illustration of the ideal color to draw shamrocks:
You can use this deep shade of how much is the nail tech course green to paint shamrocks on your nails. The polish works with press-ons, acrylics, gels, and more. One coat maintains its flawless appearance for up to 21 days because to its high pigmentation and resistance to shrinkage. To heal it, all you need is a steady hand and a nail lamp.
Consider using light green and teal as well as other color variations for your upcoming St. Patrick's Day manicure.
A nail brush comes in helpful for creating shamrocks. Although Kolinsky sable brushes are the industry standard for working with acrylics, they aren't the ideal option for working with gels or lacquers because they aren't acetone-resistant.
On the other hand, you may create a shamrock on your nails with a toothpick. If you're using gel polish, you can easily wipe it off and start again if you're not satisfied with the results.
Last but not least, remember to nail tech school cost near me gather the other supplies you require to finish a manicure. These include cuticle pushers, nail files, and nail instruments like clippers. If you're using gels, don't forget the base, top, and a nail lamp.
2. AN INSTRUCTION GUIDE FOR DRAWING A SHAMROCK ON NAILS
The big reveal is coming, are you ready? Simple instructions for creating a shamrock on nails include drawing three hearts connected by a stem. Place a stem in the center of the triangle formed by the hearts, with the curved sides facing outward. Ta-da!
If you have difficulties painting hearts evenly, there will be a problem. One side could be larger than the other. Not to worry; that is common. We'll talk about honing your shamrocks soon.
Here are the procedures for making shamrock nail art in the interim:
Push back the cuticles and trim your nails. Remove extra oil by cleaning the nails. (You may just use a lint-free nail wipe or rubbing alcohol to clean them. The foundation for a more attractive manicure is laid with nail pretreatment, which also prevents lacquer from lifting. Put on the base coat. Even when using nail lacquer, it's best to apply a base layer first. It helps the manicure stay longer and prevents the natural nails from getting discoloured.
Draw the first heart-shaped leaf by dipping a fine brush or toothpick into the colored varnish at this point. Continue with the second and third, arranging them in a triangle. There is one leaf at the top and two more on either side. To draw a stem to bring the pointed ends together, the ends must be close together but not touching. Curing the pattern under the nail lamp is necessary if you are using gel polish. If not, wait until the lacquer is totally dry before incorporating more accents. By adding white accents or using a darker green for the plant's veins to provide depth, you may make the shamrock appear more lifelike. If desired, keep adding decorations to the nails, then top coat to protect the design.
3. SUGGESTIONS FOR MASTERING SHAMROCK NAIL ART
Stop for a second if the uneven shamrocks are making you angry. Grab some paper, and try out the polish there. Placing dots on your nails as a reference to maintaining the same size may make the process simpler for you.
Keep in mind that not all of the nails need to have shamrocks painted on them. Unless you are ambidextrous, it is difficult to replicate the design with your non-dominant hand. Instead of making the shamrocks the centerpiece of the manicure, utilize them as accessories. If not, have a look at our other techniques for shamrocking your nails.
4. OTHER METHODS OF MAKING SHAMROCK NAIL ART
No, applying shamrocks to your nails with nail stickers, nail charms, nail stamps, or stencils is not cheating! The nail gods will continue to favor you!
One of our favorite activities is using nail stamps and embossing gel to make elaborate designs that are impossible to make freehand.
As the artist, you have unrestricted creative freedom. Have fun now!
5. SHAMROCK NAIL ART DESIGNS THAT ARE POPULAR
Shamrock nail art with mynailsart glitter is our weakness. In addition to sparkling, it also feels fortunate on such a joyous celebration.
Shamrocks have appeared in many artistic nail art designs. For instance, a checkerboard design with small shamrocks instead of squares attracted us.
Then there came 3D acrylic shamrocks, which are on an all different level of nail art!
The sight of a happy leprechaun clutching a shamrock on one nail is very entertaining.

Pedicure at home
How to do Pedicure at home
Pedicures are an excellent way to treat your feet and keep them looking and feeling fantastic. Going to a salon for a pedicure can be expensive and time-consuming, but with a few simple equipment and some know-how, you can give yourself an equally good pedicure at home. In this post, we’ll go over the fundamentals of a home pedicure and offer tips and tactics to make the most of your at-home pampering.
Step 1: Gather Your Resources
You’ll need to obtain some basic tools before you begin. Some of these items may already be in your home, or you can buy them at a beauty supply store or online:

Step 2: Get Your Feet Ready
To begin your at-home pedicure, prepare your feet. Remove any previous nail polish using cotton balls or pads and nail polish remover. Next, clip your nails straight across and smooth the edges using a nail file. Ingrown nails can be caused by cutting your nails too short or too rounded.
Next, immerse your feet in warm water for about 10-15 minutes using a foot soak. This will soften your skin and make removing calluses or rough patches simpler. For added relaxation, add Epsom salt or aromatic oils to the water.
Step 3: Exfoliate Your Feet
After bathing your feet, exfoliate any tough or calloused areas with a foot scrub. A basic foot scrub can be made at home by combining equal parts sugar and olive or coconut oil. Massage the scrub into your feet, concentrating on the heels and balls of your foot.
Step 4: Take Care of Your Cuticles
Gently press your cuticles back with a cuticle pusher. Pushing too hard or cutting your cuticles can result in an infection. Remove any excess cuticle or hangnails with a cuticle trimmer.
Moisturize Your Feet in Step 5
After exfoliating and caring for your cuticles, moisturize your feet. Massage your feet with a rich foot lotion or cream, paying specific attention to your heels and any dry or cracked regions. You may also take this time to give yourself a foot massage, which can aid with circulation and stress relief.
Step 6: Apply Nail Polish
Paint your nails as the final stage in your at-home pedicure. To begin, use toe separators to keep your toes from rubbing together while the polish cures. Apply a base coat of nail paint, then two coats of your desired color. Finish with a topcoat to protect and extend the life of your polish.

Tips and Tricks for a Fantastic At-Home Pedicure
• Allow adequate time for your at-home pedicure. All of the processes should take at least an hour to complete.
• If you have any cuts or open sores on your feet, avoid getting a pedicure until they heal.
• After soaking your feet, use a pumice stone or foot file to carefully remove any leftover calluses or rough places.
• After applying lotion or cream to your feet, wrap them in a heated towel for an extra pleasant touch. This will allow the moisturiser to penetrate deeper into your skin.
• If you’re not sure about your nail polish talents, try utilizing a nail polish pen or stickers for a quick and easy look.
Pedicures provide various benefits in addition to making your feet look nice. Here are some of the most important benefits of getting frequent pedicures:
Hygiene: Pedicures encourage proper foot hygiene by carefully cleaning and eliminating any debris, bacteria, or dead skin cells that may collect on your feet. This can aid in the prevention of foot odor, fungal infections, and other foot-related problems
. 2. Nail Care: Professional pedicures provide regular toenail trimming and shaping, lowering the chance of ingrown nails, which can be uncomfortable and infected. Straightening your nails and smoothing the edges might help avoid unpleasant ingrown nails.
3. Callus and Corn Removal: Specialized equipment are frequently used in pedicures to gently remove calluses and corns. These thickened layers of skin can be painful and unattractive, and eliminating them improves foot comfort and attractiveness.
Moisturization: During a pedicure, your feet are normally bathed and exfoliated before moisturizing lotions or oils are applied. This helps to nourish and moisturize the skin, avoiding dryness and cracking, especially in dry areas like the heels.
5. Improved Blood Circulation: Pedicure massage techniques assist stimulate blood circulation in the foot and lower legs. This can help to minimize swelling, fatigue, and improve overall foot and leg health.
6. Stress release: Getting a pedicure can provide a great amount of relaxation and stress release. The relaxing foot bath, massage, and general self-care experience might assist you in unwinding and rejuvenating.
7. Better Foot Appearance: Pedicures improve the appearance of your feet. Your feet will look well-groomed and lovely if you remove dead skin, care for cuticles, and apply nail polish. This might increase your self-esteem and help you feel better about your feet.
8. Early Detection of Foot Issues: Visiting a nail salon for pedicures on a regular basis allows professionals to closely check your feet and nails. They may detect any irregularities or potential problems, such as fungal infections, ingrown nails, or skin diseases, early on. Early detection allows for prompt treatment and prevents the illness from deteriorating.
9. Self-Care and Relaxation: Indulging in a pedicure is a kind of self-care. It allows you to focus on yourself, relax, and prioritize your well-being. It’s an opportunity to schedule some “me-time” and engage in a relaxing and enjoyable activity.
While professional pedicures have numerous advantages, appropriate foot care and hygiene at home is vital in between salon appointments. This involves washing, moisturizing, nail cutting, and wearing comfortable and supportive footwear on a regular basis.

Want to Raise Chickens Near Town? Consider Quiet Chicken Breeds:
Chickens are easy and fun to keep as an alternate natural food source (meat and eggs), pest control, companionship, entertainment, fertilizer for a garden, source of income and bartering resource. Chickens are inexpensive to initially purchase and raise. They are friendly, easy to manage and low maintenance. They reproduce quickly, don't need a lot of space and stay near the coop, and, pretty much take care of themselves. Quiet Chickens: When you are raising chickens in your backyard in the suburbs or even in a small town, there is only one thing as important as egg quality when deciding what breed of chickens to raise – how much noise they make. Quiet chickens breeds do exist, and you do not have to sacrifice egg quality to raise them! If you do not want angry neighbors pounding on your door or stopping you in the driveway over the constant chatter of your beloved flock, invest in a breed known for its polite demeanor. Free-ranging breeds do not need “boredom busters” to keep the content, laying, and playing nice with one another. When allowed to roam at their leisure, the birds are both physically and mentally stimulated and simply don’t feel the need to carry on and make a bunch of racket. A free flock is also usually a healthier flock because they are adhering to their natural instincts and selecting big juicy bugs out of your yard to feast upon – and reducing your feed bill in the process. Noisy chickens in a run might have as much to do with the space and the environment as it does the breed. The general rule of thumb is the taller the coop and run, the happier (and quieter) the chickens will be. Quiet Chickens – What Breeds to Choose in the Suburbs [Article 3]

LESS ROOSTER CROWING: Silkies and Phoenixes
RESOURCES: Storey's Guide to Raising Chickens by Gail Damerow on Amazon The Chicken Encyclopedia by Gail Damerow on Amazon One of the most popular misconceptions about chickens is that a Rooster is needed for chickens to lay eggs. Not so. Chickens will lay eggs without a Rooster. The only time a Rooster is needed is to expand the flock (baby chicks). Another misconception is that a nest is needed for a chicken to lay eggs; many chicken breeds (do your research) will lay eggs anywhere, anytime. So, unless you want to go egg hunting for your next omlet, keep them in a coop and penned in area. Washed (commercial) vs Unwashed Eggs: Eggs are laid with a nearly invisible natural coating, called the "bloom" or sometimes the "cuticle", on the shell that is applied as the last step in the laying process. This coating is the first line of defense in keeping air and bacteria out of the egg. Since eggshells are porous, that natural barrier is removed if the eggs are washed as soon as they are collected. The bloom helps to keep bacteria from entering into the egg white through the shell. It also helps to keep the egg fresher longer by restricting the movement of air through the pores in the eggshell. Generally, eggs should not be washed until they are ready to be used/eaten. Mildly "dirty" eggs can be wiped with a dry paper/cloth towel. Unwashed eggs last 7 times longer than washed/rinsed eggs. When washing, hold under warm running water [only]; they should never be soaked in a bowl or bucket of water. Washed eggs should be refrigerated promptly. Store bought eggs have been cleaned and the "bloom" has been removed, so they always need refrigeration after purchasing them. Rinse all eggs just before using them to remove any potential bacteria. [Methods to Preserve (non-commercial) Eggs Long Term] Encouragement: Raising livestock and cultivating a garden are great activities to become more self-sufficient, less reliant on commercial products and staying in touch with nature. If these activities are not for you, please consider supporting your local farmers instead of the grocery store. [Reference Link]

could you make a post on how you make your bare nails look beautiful and manicured? my nails react terribly to polish. thanks!
Hello 💙
Not going to lie, I was lowkey waiting for someone to ask. My nails and I have always gotten well together. I do take pride in them as my natural nails tend to bring a lot compliments in. In high school, the girls and guys would hold my hands and turn it just to see my nails shine in the light and having nice nails has always been a ‘Daphne thing’.
Cuticle Removal
Sally Hansen Cuticle Care
Nail Care Set
Cuticle removal is a new territory for me. My cuticles have always passed the scrunity of nail artists and I consider having naturally nice cuticles as one of my top 10 traits. Nonetheless, my feet do need an extra help and Sally Hansen’s gel is the easiest thing to use. I do not trust myself with cuticle clippers at all so chemical removers are my go to. A little squezze, 15 seconds wait and a little push and you are done !! When I am doing my hands, I like to dip my hands in warm/hot water to soften my cuticles up. Do be careful because the Lye (the chemical that does the dissolving in cuticle removers) has no preference between dead skin and live skin.
I recently purchased the nail care set just because I needed the silver tools you see, and oh my goodness, best purchase ever!!! I don’t really use the first tool on the left but the middle and the right ones are my holy grails. The tip of the middle one to get rid of the dead, hard skin on the either sides of your fingernails.I have never liked the feel of the coarser skin but I didn’t know there was a solution for this. The bottom of the same tool is to scrape built up gunk from underneath your nails. The right tool has a cuticle scraper and a pusher.
I wouldn’t reccomend removing your cuticles too often, so maybe once a week. What I do and have done since I was a child is push back my cuticles gently using my own nails which is the cheapest alternative to everything.
Cuticle Oils and Butters
Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream
Dior Creme Apricot
Onsen Cuticle oil
It is important to keep your cuticles soft as dry or cracked cuticles are an opening to bacteria. I religiously apply cuticle oil/cream; I keep one at my desk, one in my bedside table and one in every bag. I have been using Burt’s Bees one for ages and it works well. To be honest, you can just use Jojoba oil ( a must have!) as it has the smallest oil molecules and acts the most like our natural skin oils. It has lots of uses and is relativelty cheap, so if you are on a budget just get Jojoba oil instead of all the fancy ones. Dior Creme is a cult favourite and I love it too. The packaging is so so pretty and it is just so luxurious; but in saying that the formula is tacky and you have to use your hands to get the product out because there is no applicator. For this reason I like to leave it at my bedside table. The cuticle pen is just easy to carry around.
Buffing
4 Way Buffing Block
This is Daphne’s holy grail. Along with cuticle care, buffing is part of my religion I discovered these 4 way buffing blocks years back and it has been a staple since. It is my ‘If I stuck on a desert island I would take...’. It is so so simple to use and it leaves your nails SHINNY! The blocks comes numbered and you just buff each nail with each side for 10 seconds and voila! Best nails ever! It is is so simple, it is rude not to have one. This is perfect to get that hand model worthy shiny nails without using nail polish. It is low maintanece and you only need to do it once a week. I used to have girls flock to my hands in high school and they oogle my nails with oohs and ahhhs. So I started to carry extra blocks so I could show the girls what to do and I would do it for them and leave the block for them as a gift. I cannot live without these. I would highly reccomend to buy them off Aliexpress for cheaper and in bluk so you can replace it after 3-4 uses.
Routine
I am a big fan of routines and I have a routine for everything, once a week I like to take an hour out to do them. I start off with the Sally Hansen Cuticle remover and get rid of excess dead skin. Then I like to buff my nails with the Buffing block. I trim my nails into a short square top which suits my hands the best. I like to go in with a cucticle oil or cream and rub it in circular motions. As much as I love nail art and big sparkly gems, I need to keep my nails short and clean for climbing, piano and archery. This also means that my nails have been breaking off due to excess pressure and stress as of lately; so because of the recent changes I have had to reintroduce a couple things for Winter. I reintroduced nail hardners because climbing does a number on your nails, no matter how short you trim them.Otherwise, I also love the Dior Nail glow which leaves a pretty pink hue to you nails which makes them look so healthy and glowly. The first time I had them on in one of snap stories, the amount of swipe ups I got was insane. It is pricey so I like to gift them to my friends so their nails can twinkle and catch the light in the most beautiful ways.
Also remember, nail health is also largely dependent on you general health. If your general health lacking and you are dull beacause of so, no amount buffing is going to change that. So with like everything, get a varied diet, drink plently of water and make sure you are not lacking vitamins and minerals.

Hear me out, dabi teaching you how to touch yourself. 👌
omfg anon please he’d fuckin live for this shit!!!
❅ cw: 18+, kinda dubcon/manipulation, dabi’s a lil mean
❅ words: 1.9k
You’ve been living with the league for a few months now—Toga had found you somewhere, on the streets cowered in some dirty back alley or something, he’s not really sure, he can’t remember—and Dabi’s been having a hard time keeping his hands to himself ever since.
He’s always finding excuses to touch you, dragging heated fingertips down your arm, always slightly hotter than normal body temperature, or placing a large hand on the small of your back as he guides you from one room to another, a blazing handprint searing through the thin material of your shirt.
Can you really blame him, though? He can’t help it; it isn’t his fault you’re so fucking cute.
And he’s always got those sapphire eyes on you, too, couldn’t pull them from you even if he wanted to, gaze instinctively drawn to you every time you’re in the same room as him, an addict desperately chasing his next fix.
He definitely would have fucked you already, he’s absolutely sure of it, if Toga wasn’t attached to your hip 24/7. As a result, he knows he has to make the most of every minute alone he gets with you, and when you come trudging down the stairs in the middle of the night with you lips set in a deep pout, looking absolutely exhausted—pretty eyes sunken into your skull and hair mussed up in a way that almost looks artful on you—well.
It makes him want to fucking ruin you.
You’ve been on edge recently, and he’s 90% sure he knows why. Your rooms are right next to each other; it isn’t like he can’t hear those soft little noises you make in the middle of the night, breathy little whimpers that eventually morph into soft whines, Dabi listening the entire time as your pleasure quickly fades into frustration.
He pities you; the poor thing, she doesn’t even know how to get herself off properly. It’s definitely beginning to take a toll on you, he thinks, as you drop down on the couch next to him, slumping a little, eyebrows permanently knitted and eyes glaring at the TV.
Honestly, it would be a disservice to you if he didn’t help you.
“What’s a’matter with you?” he asks, glancing over at you, eyes indifferent, just the right amount of curiosity sown into his voice.
Your body stiffens for a moment, completely frozen next to him, before it relaxes again, a little huff of annoyance leaving your lips.
“Nothing,” you mumble, picking at your cuticles, pout still etched into your face.
“It’s not nothing, and we both know it,” he sighs, schooling his expression into one that mimics concern, just a hint sprinkled over his usual apathetic look, careful not to overdo it on the way his forehead wrinkles just a little, like he’s genuinely worried about you.
Head quirking to the side in question, your eyes narrow slightly, brow furrowing.
“You’re having trouble getting yourself off, aren’t you?”
“What?” You choke on the word, sputtering and coughing as you vigorously shake your head, desperately trying to wheeze out the word no, to deny it, and he chuckles, comforting you, tells you it’s nothing to be embarrassed of, promises you it’s nothing to be ashamed of, and—
“I can help, y’know,” he says with a shrug of his shoulders, like he’s offering you an extra pen and not an orgasm.
But those four words force a sharp intake of breath through your nose, eyes widening as you stare at him, your heart beginning to race while warmth settles deep in the pit of your stomach, already beginning to coil.
And he knows, knows the smirk curling on his lips doesn’t go well with his mask of casual concern, but he can’t help it, not when the softest, neediest little whine slips from your lips, pupils blown and eyes glazed as you stare at him with pure unadulterated want.
He’s almost got you.
“Whaddya say?” he asks quietly, almost tenderly, upper body turning towards you as nimble fingers tuck a strand of hair behind your ear. “Hmm?”
“I-I—I don’t—I’m not—”
“Let me help,” he urges. “Let me make you feel good,”
And it’s so gentle, so sincere, his body marginally leaning towards yours, enticing, that your head’s nodding before you’ve given it permission to, bottom lip caught between your teeth as you suck on it unsurely, gazing at him through your lashes.
You end up between his spread legs, on the floor, his large hands holding your thighs wide open as he stares at your reflections in the mirror propped up against his wall, dark azure eyes slowly sliding down your body as you try in vain to bury your head in his neck, face burning with embarrassment.
He got this mirror specifically for this occasion, he tells you, thought it’d be the best way to teach you, he says.
A soft, pitiful whimper escapes your lips, soaking into the skin of his neck as you nuzzle against him. He had been…anticipating this?
“Don’t hide,” he chastises softly with a click of his tongue, voice vibrating against your back and breaking through your thoughts. “How are you supposed to learn if you aren’t watching? Look at how pretty this pussy is,”
Your entire body jolts as the rough pad of his index finger skims over your clit, two fingers almost caressing your slit, down and then back up again, pulling his hand back slightly to admire the way your slick gleams on his fingers in the dim light of his bedroom.
“Already so wet for me, huh?” he breathes, lips tickling the shell of your ear. “Do you think about me when you touch yourself, hmm? Do you think about my fingers? My cock?”
Oh, it’s so embarrassing, your entire body flushing at his naughty, invasive questions, and they send another intense rush of warmth to your core, bitter shame settling on your tongue.
“Answer me,” he commands, voice firm but quiet, giving your clit a superficial slap that has a loud cry spilling from your throat.
“Yes!” you squeak, word muffled by his skin. “Y-Yes,”
“Yes what?”
Please don’t make me say it, you want to whine, tears of humiliation flooding your eyes. Another slap lands against your clit, harder this time, making your back arch against him.
“Yes, yes, I-I think of you when I touch myself,” you whimper, whole body trembling, eyes shut tightly to keep the tears stinging your eyes from leaking out, wishing his mocking coo in response didn’t make your stomach swoop the way it does.
Praises fall from his lips as his calloused fingers rub small, quick circles into the sensitive bud, interspersed with your sweet, breathy little moans, telling you how good you are, such a good little girl for him, how he fucking knew it, fucking knew that you were thinking of him every night while you desperately stuff your little cunt full of your fingers, the words whispered into your hair as you smush your face against his neck.
“C’mon baby, look at yourself. You’re so beautiful,” his words taper off into a hoarse, quiet whine as his fingers run along your slit again.
You peak out from your safe spot against him, unable to help the gasp that escapes your throat as your eyes connect with your reflections. Hooded eyes find yours, practically glowing, breath hot against your cheek, his chin hooked over your shoulder.
He looks like a fucking god like this, smoldering gaze burning a hole right through to your very soul, ebony hair tousled just right, voice just a hint deeper than normal, husky and guttural.
Watch me, he instructs, your eyes immediately snapping to the apex of your thighs reflected in the mirror, practically mesmerized as he sinks a finger into your fluttering little hole, a soft whine breaking in your chest.
“Shh,” he hushes you. “Watch me,”
Pumping his finger a few times, he works your cunt open enough for him to comfortably insert a second, your head falling back against his shoulder at the pleasant stretch. A chuckle vibrates in his chest, fingers thrusting twice before he curls them, laughing fully as your body jolts.
“Mm, think I found something,” he mutters in your ear, curling his fingers again and smirking when your emit a sharp, involuntary cry. “Yep, definitely found something,”
“Oh God,” you breathe, hips rolling a little to meet his fingers mid-thrust as he works up a steady rhythm.
“Feel good?”
“Uh-huh,” you nod fervently, the back of your head resting against his collarbone, lips parted slightly, eyes slipping shut. “So good,”
“Perfect. Now, do it yourself,”
Your eyes snap open as he removes his hand completely, whimpers of protest falling from your lips as you shake your head, cute, pathetic little ‘no!’s catching in your throat. Sapphire, dark and shimmering, stares at you expectantly through the mirror, Dabi raising an eyebrow when you don’t immediately start moving.
But it’s awkward and you’re clumsy, heat seeping into your cheeks as you fumble a little, stiff movements a stark contrast to his effortless fluidity.
He tries in vain to guide you, delegates what to do and exactly how to do it, but your wrist is beginning to ache, your fingers beginning to cramp, sick of unintentionally edging yourself.
“I can’t,” you wail loudly, frustrated tears blurring your vision. “I can’t, I can’t, not like you do, Dabi, please, t-touch me,”
“Aw, don’t be a greedy little brat,” but he’s chuckling as his fingers snake down your body.
It’s cute, he tells you, voice laced with condescension, that you can’t do anything for yourself, slapping your hand away and pushing two of his fingers into your dripping little pussy again, a pathetic little moan of relief spilling from your lips, body melting back into his.
“Can you at least play with your clit for me, baby?” His tone is almost patronizing, like he’s unsure if you’ll even be able to manage such a simple task, and you whimper out his name, nodding eagerly as your fingers find the swollen bud.
He sounds unaffected, for the most part, and you’d probably think he was, if it weren’t for his cock, hot and hard and throbbing through his flannel PJ pants and pressed flush against your back. He’s rutting against you just a tiny bit, hips rocking against you in minuscule motions as his gaze focuses on his fingers.
“Open your eyes, angel, and watch my hand, yeah? I won’t always be around to make you cum, you know,”
You do know that, you do.
But it’s hard. It’s hard to watch him, to concentrate on his actions, to even keep your eyes fully open and in focus when they’re continuously rolling back in your head, broken whimpers and high pitched whines leaking uncontrollably from your throat, climbing in volume with each harsh thrust of his fingers, with each swipe over your clit of yours.
“Yeah, that’s it,” he praises, voice strained ever so slightly. “Be a good girl, make a nice mess all over my fingers,”
And so you do, pathetically desperate to be good for him, gushing on his fingers only a few seconds later as your pussy clenches, mewling out his name like a mantra.
“What’re you gonna do next time, when you need to cum and I’m not around?” he asks, after your breathing has begun to calm.
“Doesn’t matter,” you reply simply, eyes still closed, body gone boneless against him. “I’ll never be able to do it as good as you can anyway, so why bother?”
