#star wars#din djarin#boba fett#redbean talks#meanwhile jango; age 14: the actual mand'alor#very funny to realize that din and boba are almost the same age#when you look at the difference in what they were doing for most of the clone wars#din at age ten was a small frightened child hiding from super battle droids behind a space dumpster(?)#boba at age ten was jangos copilot/getaway driver for jedi-hunting missions (and also an equally small child)#then three years later was a full blown crime boss and involved in human trafficking#i really want to see more of the mundane conversations about raising grogu#like among the mandos there's#din (children of the watch hardcore mando): i must teach my small son to shoot#boba (literally-lifelong bounty hunter raised in child soldier central): do you want recommendations for good starting blasters#bo katan: i asked the armorer to make a custom set of knives too btw#the armorer (already made armor for small son): dont you think he needs a flametrhower for his birthday#and then the Associates#they've got ig11 (trigger happy assassin droid); fennec (experienced bounty hunter who fought cad bane at age early-20s?)#krrsantan (crazy gladiator probably-madclaw); koska (tackled boba as an introduction); axe (stabbed paz over a game of chess)#and then. there is Luke.#imagine everyone pondering over how to modify a disruptor rifle to fit very small arms#(because boba's absolutely going to spoil his small green nephew)#and luke just in the background like 'maybe we should. not? give the preschooler a deadly weapon? this is not safe?'#din: eh he's smart he'll be fine#luke; fearing for his life: it's not him im worried about-

Geparda, 2024. This is not, as far as I can tell, an April Fool's joke. In Germany it is possible to start driving from the age of 16 but young drivers face limits in the size and power of cars they can use until they turn 18. Step forward German company Geparda who are converting the now discontinued VW Up! by fitting very narrow track rear wheels (it's not a 3-wheeler) and de-tuning the engine to 20hp. The company claims to have already delivered cars, which cost €20,000. Geparda is German for "cheetah"

I'm obviously not gonna do anything about it because I figure the people doing it are like desperate for a job but I s2g I am slightly concerned by the steady increase I'm seeing of DoorDash drivers on bikes.
And it's not even cuz I'm like worried about my food not being perfectly piping hot fresh when it gets to me, and ngl some of the guys on bike have done a way better job than the people in cars, but like this has happened enough that I have had to stop ordering certain kinds of food due to the fact that it's, on average, 100F+ here in the day time and a lot of food I like to eat just cannot safely be at that temperature for more than a minute or two if even that.
And like I am just gonna not order those foods, I do not want to put anyone who is desperate for work out of a job but like....this is going to make someone sick, right? The first time this happened I had ordered a poke bowl and that ended up being inedible because it was like 108F outside and the guy on the bike handed it to me out of a very thin insulated bag that just had a half-melted frozen water bottle in it, and the food was warm and the fish smelled weird, so yeah, not eating it, but still. I know this guy CLEARLY needs the money and this is ABSOLUTELY on DoorDash, but if they're gonna allow bike dashers maybe limit what stores they're allowed to deliver from? So you don't have people delivering food poisoning? Is that too much to ask??
#personal#vent#just complaing about how capitalism has ruined food delivery for both the drivers and the customers

Daniel on his sleep schedule:
"I tried," he told reporters. "I was in LA for a week and I was staying up a bit later but I just kept waking up early. So all I was doing was shortening my sleep. If I'm tired I'm just going to sleep and if I'm in the car, I'm just going to drink Red Bull. It's a pretty simple strategy this weekend," he said with a laugh.
And on the sphere:
"It’s very obvious, it’s huge and we’re not going to miss it," said Alpha Tauri's Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo. "But truthfully when you get in that kind of rhythm and that zone you’re aware of everything but you don’t really notice it. I got to my hotel yesterday and it was only this morning that I noticed these massive pieces of art on the wall.”
#poor little baby is tired because he couldn’t adjust his sleep schedule 😭#I think he’s talked before about being a bit of an insomniac and having like a custom made wildly expensive pillow to help him sleep???#he should have called me. I would have helped him stay in bed 😌#re the sphere: I saw the red flag podcast talking about which drivers would be distracted by the sphere and they were like#yeah all the drivers who are like puppies like Daniel ricciardo are going to be constantly distracted by it#and my first thought was these guys don’t know the Daniel behind the helmet and I WAS RIGHT!!!#daniel ricciardo#vegas23

Was psyching myself up in my car for a shift at work after one of those unexpectedly harrowing weeks the fates hand us and it was all for naught because as soon as I stepped out of the car I locked eyes with a massive black 4x4 offroader, kitted out floor to ceiling with all those extra bits for Serious Offroading and those family stick figure stickers on the back window
With the license plate BOWSETTE
#i spent the whole shift trying to guess which customer was the driver#no idea what i would have done if i had met them and known it was their car#i just#bowsette#bowsette specifically#why???#someone out there has made children and dedicated their thunderwagon to yassified anime bowser#now that i think about it#god i wish that was me tbh

I really want to know if/how they're going to get their characters in the cooldown room or podium in the F1 movie... Like there's only two of them so who's going to be the extra driver(s) and how are they going to film it????
Unfortunately I suspect they are going to use CGI . . .
#as in CGi the suits and faces onto actual driver's victories#but maybe that 300 mil went to building custom cooldown room and podium

Dude in his 40s was like "it's so unattractive when women your age are like 'bro' to each other or say things like 'suck my dick' why are they so obsessed with being men" and I'm over here trying to break the news to him that "suck my dick" is a gender neutral phrase for everyone under like. Thirty-five.
#chit chat#obviously this is one of the delivery drivers and not a customer#work stuff#he's so stuck on what women in their twenties are doing all the time. like. fuck off dude.#i promise they don't give a single shit about your opinion#'women these days all dress like lesbians or men' brother you work as a delivery driver for a warehouse#you deliver to businesses and warehouses. add two and two.#nobody's gonna wear a fucking dress to haul freight and drive a forklift all day#fucking christ

Companies using """"""""AI"""""""" chatbots in place of customer service (usually with a veneer of pretending you are actually speaking to a real person, which might not be so immediately obvious to more tech illiterate people) pisses me off so bad because they are just SO fundamentally useless. The only information it can tell you is information more efficiently communicated with a FAQ page, and information that is Wrong because current chatbot technology is, in fact, not even slightly 'intelligent' and pretty damn bad at giving accurate answers to anything but the simplest questions.
Like there's no point to it besides hoping onto the flashy artificial 'intelligence' gimmick and paying for less customer service work hours, and so many companies will not only have this feature but make their actual customer service prohibitively difficult to find (and usually involving a labyrinth of automated phone menu systems that you have to navigate correctly in order to get to a person). Makes me want to kill.
#Attempting to navigate support for Uber drivers (not as a customer but like as someone who is fucking working for the company)#is one of the most hellish experiences I have ever had#Because their easily accessible 'driver help' feature is a chatbot and their phone system probably qualifies as a form of torture#Literally you have to figure out the correct sequence of answers to get to a human by trial and error and it will hang up on you if you hit#any number of automated 'dead ends'#There was one time I didn't get paid for a really expensive delivery because the fucking app kept crashing and it's like they're under#the impression that their shitty fucking app is just Too Functional for that to be a potential problem so you have to outright lie to#the phone system to get to a human about this particular issue#Was pacing on the sidewalk for at least 45 minutes feeling the most homicidal I have ever felt in my life before I finally managed#to get to a human and then the answer was 'we can't help you' which like. Yeah#Yeah you can't can you. Yea

If your boss starts having unreasonable expectations but you feel like you can't say no it is IMPERATIVE to engage in malicious compliance
#oh you want me to work shifts completely by myself and have started cutting my coworkers' hours?#awesome. time for my to leave my register completely unattended as i water all the flowers around the store#during the 5-6pm rush hour#oh you want me to do floral deliveries myself because you don't have “the staff” for a delivery driver?#awesome! time for me to do three deliveries to cities half an hour away back to back and let customers fend for themselves!
