Many of us have our own preferences for the crystals we work with. If you are called to use crystals, I encourage everyone to do some research on your own and to trust your intuition as the energy from some crystals may resonate with you more so than others. I recommend the tried and true Crystal Bible, by Judy Hall and Crystals for Beginners or Crystals for Healing, by Karen Frazier. Here is a compiled a list of a few of the top "go-to" crystals and some very basic and high-level information to go along with them below. This is a general list, not my own.
Here are a few go to crystals to reference...
Clear Quartz:
• Metaphysical Properties: Amplification, clarity, and energy enhancement.
• Healing Uses: Balancing all chakras, clearing energy blockages, and enhancing psychic abilities.
• Common Uses: Meditation, energy cleansing, amplifying intentions, and enhancing other crystals.
• Care: Cleanse under running water, moonlight, or with other cleansing crystals. Recharge in sunlight or with amethyst clusters.
Rose Quartz:
• Metaphysical Properties: The stone of unconditional love and compassion, promoting self-love, emotional healing, and inner peace.
• Healing Uses: Balancing the heart chakra, soothing emotional wounds, and fostering forgiveness and empathy.
• Common Uses: Attracting love, harmonizing relationships, self-love rituals, and emotional healing.
• Care: Cleanse with gentle methods like moonlight, sage smoke, or visualization. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight.
Selenite/Satin Spar:
• Metaphysical Properties: A powerful energy cleanser and amplifier, connecting to higher realms, promoting mental clarity, and spiritual insight.
• Healing Uses: Clearing and charging other crystals, enhancing mental clarity, and facilitating spiritual communication.
• Common Uses: Meditation, clearing energy fields, and promoting a peaceful environment.
• Care: Selenite is self-cleansing and charges other crystals. Avoid exposure to water, as it can dissolve.
Citrine:
• Metaphysical Properties: Attracting abundance, confidence, and positivity.
• Healing Uses: Activating the solar plexus chakra, boosting self-esteem, and aiding in manifesting goals and prosperity.
• Common Uses: Attracting wealth, enhancing self-confidence, and boosting creativity.
• Care: Cleanse in sunlight or moonlight, or by placing it on a bed of quartz crystals.
Amethyst:
• Metaphysical Properties: Enhancing intuition, spirituality, and mental clarity. Calming the mind and promoting inner peace.
• Healing Uses: Balancing the crown and third eye chakras, aiding in overcoming addiction, and supporting emotional healing.
• Common Uses: Meditation, enhancing spiritual connection, and promoting restful sleep.
• Care: Cleanse under running water or with gentle methods. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, as it may fade the color.
Tiger's Eye:
• Metaphysical Properties: A protective stone enhancing courage, self-confidence, and personal power.
• Healing Uses: Balancing the solar plexus chakra, aiding in decision-making, and protecting against negative energies.
• Common Uses: Boosting confidence, motivation, and overcoming challenges.
• Care: Cleanse by running under water, smudging with sage, or with sunlight. Recharge as needed.
Moonstone:
• Metaphysical Properties: Linked to the moon and feminine energy, enhancing intuition, emotional balance, and spiritual insight.
• Healing Uses: Balancing the sacral and crown chakras, promoting fertility, and aiding in emotional healing.
• Common Uses: Enhancing intuition, connecting with the divine feminine, and promoting emotional harmony.
• Care: Cleanse with gentle methods due to its sensitive energy, and recharge under moonlight.
Carnelian:
• Metaphysical Properties: Boosting creativity, vitality, and motivation. Associated with the sacral chakra.
• Healing Uses: Balancing the sacral chakra, enhancing energy, and aiding in overcoming self-doubt.
• Common Uses: Boosting creativity, motivation, and self-confidence.
• Care: Cleanse under running water and recharge in sunlight or with carnelian clusters.
Obsidian:
• Metaphysical Properties: A protective stone aiding in grounding, transformation, and self-discovery.
• Healing Uses: Clearing negative energies, balancing the root chakra, and supporting inner transformation.
• Common Uses: Shielding against negativity, promoting self-discovery, and aiding in shadow work.

Black Tourmaline:
• Metaphysical Properties: A powerful protection stone that wards off negativity, cleanses energy, and promotes grounding.
• Healing Uses: Shields against negative energies, balances the root chakra, and aids in promoting self-confidence.
• Common Uses: Protection against negative energies, grounding, and energy purification.
• Care: Cleanse under running water, moonlight, or with other cleansing crystals. Recharge with intention or by placing it on a bed of hematite or black tourmaline.

Hey friends! Here are a few ways to embrace the magic of Crystal Magic:
🔮 Choose Your Crystals: Select crystals that resonate with your intention and desired outcome. Each crystal has its own unique properties and energies, so choose ones that align with your goals.
🌟 Cleanse and Charge Your Crystals: Purify your crystals by rinsing them under running water, smoke cleansing, or placing them in sunlight or moonlight. Then, charge them with your intention by holding them in your hands and visualizing them being filled with light and energy.
📿 Work with Crystal Grids: Create intricate patterns or grids with your crystals to amplify their energies and manifest your intentions. Place them in geometric formations and activate them with your intention and focus.
💎 Wear or Carry Crystals: Wear crystals as jewelry or carry them in your pocket or purse to benefit from their energy throughout the day. Choose crystals that correspond to your goals and intentions to keep their energy close to you at all times.
🕯️ Incorporate Crystals into Rituals: Use crystals as focal points in your rituals and ceremonies, placing them on your altar or holding them in your hands as you work with their energy. You can also place them around your space to create a sacred and protected environment.
There are many good resources of information for crystals. Here are some of my favorites:
Books:
“Crystals for Beginners: The Guide to Get Started with the Healing Power of Crystals” by Karen Frazier. This book covers crystal basics, including how to choose, cleanse, program, and use them for different purposes.
“The Crystal Bible” by Judy Hall. A comprehensive reference guide that provides information on various crystals and their properties.
"Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Crystal, Gem & Metal Magic" by Scott Cunningham. This guide to elemental Earth magic helps you harness the power of over 100 gems and metals for divinations, spells, tarot readings, and more!

Okay but following up with some Ward positives as of finishing arc 9:
Victoria, Ashley, and Sveta are great all in their own ways
Each of them recognisably being in that delicate state of late teens/early twenties where you're trying to figure your shit out and grapple with the fact you're 'behind' what feels like the majority of your peers in terms of your development due to your fucked up life and trauma
Both Ashleys' cringefail loser villainy, she kins Skeletor and Starscream
Crystal doesn't even own scissors
Rain O' Fire 'Sopping Wet' Frazier when do we get back to your deal
Kenzie has never done anything wrong except for all the crimes
I am shocked no one else seems to love Chris, is it because he is annoying and gross and shitty and mean? Is it because of his whole [spoilers deal]? Must a character be 'likeable' or have 'a single redeeming quality' or even 'be more palpable than biting aluminum foil' to be appreciated?
I think they should give Natalie a gun

How do you keep track of what all the crystals and herbs do? And how do you find out in the first place?
I apologize it took me so long to reply to you. Times have been rough in the kingdom. BUT, I will say that I learned most of my information from purchasing and reading books that specialize in herbs or crystals. Three book recommendations I have for you are "Crystals for Beginners" - Karen Frazier, "Candle Magic" - Madame Pamita, and "Encyclopedia of Natural Magic" - John Greer
All three of those books should provide you with basically all the information you need about herbs, crystals, and using candle magic. I hope this helps!
Blessed Be 🔮🌙

Notes on the books shown:
I haven't read any of these yet and am not endorsing them. Just sharing a #haul -- I will review any you're curious about. Below I've shared the titles, authors, and why I chose them >>
Healing Herbs by Michael Castleman
A plant ref. is the reason I went to the used bookstore. I have many books on plants but needed one with a certain ease-of-reference. So far, this one appears well organized!
Raymond Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft -- To be clear, I'm not Wiccan and don't plan to join any labeled or grouped spiritual endeavor any time soon. However I do study all religions and studies of practice that I can, to be an informed human and keep my references clean. I didn't choose this book for the Wiccan study, but rather for some specific resources found inside. I'll be sharing more soon. 🌙
Medicinal Plants of the Heartland by Connie Kaye & Neil Billington
In my effort to expand my knowledge on foraging, plant medicine, and plant magick, I was seeking a local focal book for my current location. I opened it to a page covering plants that are in my natural garden, and I said yep -- this one is perfect. I can't wait to learn more.
Crystals for Healing by Karen Frazier. Again, I have other references on crystals. But this one is organized I two ways, first by energy/intention/need and then alphabetical by stone. I like the brief, quick-ref page structure, too.
Awakening -- Conversations with the Master by Anthony deMello.
I have been seeking a daily meditation or thinking prompt book that is short and accessible each day. This one fulfills that, while building on itself day after day. I was enticed.
That's it for now! 📚

Late October/Early November 2024 Reads
All the Colors of the Dark by Chris Witaker
I’d been on hold for this one since early summer. It finally came. Everyone seems to love it, but, alas, not I. Not worth the wait. Here’s the Goodreads/flap summary:
1975 is a time of change in America. The Vietnam War is ending. Mohammed Ali is fighting Joe Frazier. And in the small town of Monta Clare, Missouri, girls are disappearing. When the daughter of a wealthy family is targeted, the most unlikely hero emerges—Patch, a local boy with one eye, who saves the girl, and, in doing so, leaves heartache in his wake.Patch and those who love him soon discover that the line between triumph and tragedy has never been finer. And that their search for answers will lead them to truths that could mean losing one another. A missing person mystery, a serial killer thriller, a love story, a unique twist on each, Chris Whitaker has written a novel about what lurks in the shadows of obsession, and the blinding light of hope.
Too many characters. Too much time spent on their development. Not enough plot except the very beginning and very end. The writing itself? Good. But it was too long to keep my interest throughout. 3 stars for me. However, everyone else seems to love it.
Here One Moment by Liane Moriarty
I have enjoyed most of her books. This one, though, was another three stars for me.
The book opens on a flight where a woman is predicting the death of other passengers: the cause and their age at the time. Of course, everyone thinks she’s a nut job. Until some of the predictions start coming true.
Over the course of the 350ish pages, the reader learns about said woman in her own words interspersed between chapters following the passengers to whom she gave predictions.
This had a bit of a similar premise to The Measure which I just read and enjoyed. Maybe if I’d not read these two so close together I would’ve liked it more.
I really like Moriarty’s writing. She has a great ratio of dialog to prose which is a huge win for me. The plot for this one just wasn’t a winner for me.
The Mighty Red by Louise Erdrich
May the average reads continue. *sigh* I have loved the last five of Erdrich’s releases. This one, though, didn’t do it for me. Kind of like the last, 3 stars because I love her writing. But the plot didn’t keep me interested enough.
Here’s the Goodreads/flap info:
In Argus, North Dakota, a collection of people revolve around a fraught wedding.
Gary Geist, a terrified young man set to inherit two farms, is desperate to marry Kismet Poe, an impulsive, lapsed Goth who can't read her future but seems to resolve his.
Hugo, a gentle red-haired, home-schooled giant, is also in love with Kismet. He’s determined to steal her and is eager to be a home wrecker.
Kismet's mother, Crystal, hauls sugar beets for Gary's family, and on her nightly runs, tunes into the darkness of late-night radio, sees visions of guardian angels, and worries for the future, her daughter’s and her own.
Human time, deep time, Red River time, the half-life of herbicides and pesticides, and the elegance of time represented in fracking core samples from unimaginable depths, is set against the speed of climate change, the depletion of natural resources, and the sudden economic meltdown of 2008-2009. How much does a dress cost? A used car? A package of cinnamon rolls? Can you see the shape of your soul in the everchanging clouds? Your personal salvation in the giant expanse of sky? These are the questions the people of the Red River Valley of the North wrestle with every day.
The Mighty Red is a novel of tender humor, disturbance, and hallucinatory mourning. It is about on-the-job pains and immeasurable satisfactions, a turbulent landscape, and eating the native weeds growing in your backyard. It is about ordinary people who dream, grow up, fall in love, struggle, endure tragedy, carry bitter secrets; men and women both complicated and contradictory, flawed and decent, lonely and hopeful. It is about a starkly beautiful prairie community whose members must cope with devastating consequences as powerful forces upend them. As with every book this great modern master writes, The Mighty Red is about our tattered bond with the earth, and about love in all of its absurdity and splendor.
It did start strong, and it wasn’t exceptionally long. It just didn’t keep my interest.
From Here to the Great Unknown by Lisa Marie Presley and Riley Keough
This one is definitely the best of this batch of reads. And a non-fiction to boot! Aside from being Elvis’ daughter and Michael Jackson’s ex-wife, I didn’t know much about Lisa Marie Presley. I think I actually know more about Riley Keough from looking up biographical information on her after watching Daisy Jones and the Six and Under the Bridge (cannot recommend the latter highly enough - Hulu, and the former is good as well - better than the book actually!).
So Lisa Marie began this book late in her life. And when she got towards the end, she asked her daughter to help her finish. And then she died. She left Riley tapes of her speaking about her own life and memories. Riley starts out the book with a note including the fact that one font is used for her mother’s writing and another for hers. I liked that she commented, minimally, throughout. She’s a strong writer.
As one would imagine, this isn’t a feelgood story. Once her father died when she was nine, Lisa Marie struggled mightily through most of her life in one way or another.
I enjoyed this one. I thought it was well organized and the writing was real; rather than having some ghost writer come in and do it for them, these women wrote themselves. Having been to Graceland, it was cool to have some real images to go with the setting that began LIsa Marie’s life and where she lies in rest today.
4 stars.
