Play Tomodachi Life, make yourself, your main F/O, and then a bunch of family and friends and see how the shenanigans play out.

Play Sims (my choice is 4, but any one will work), same as before but this time you have mods and can control you and your F/O’s however you please.

Make kandi jewelry for each of your F/O’s, whether it’s a bracelet with their name or just a necklace with a color scheme you think fits them.

Purchase something custom from etsy and/or fiverr. These can be care packages, letters, plushies, art pieces, fanfics, maybe you could find someone who does RP asmrs, and my personal favorites an RP or an annotated book.

Look on youtube for asmrs, whether they’re RP, sleeping beside or those muffled playlist scenarios.

For those of is that are age regressor, make a custom deco paci based on your F/O.

Credits to @myselfshipdiary for this one, make a Pinterest board. They can feature fanart, aesthetic images or heck maybe recipes you would cook for them and memes you would show them.

If you have the skills, or heck even if you don’t (life’s too short, try everything, learn new skills), design something based on them. A dress, a cake, a room, a candy platter, a party, an outfit, a plushie, literally anything!

Make a breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner you think they would like! Maybe if you bring your lunch to work, make a bento for yourself that you would send to work with them.

Go on to your online shopping sites and make wishlists of thing you’d think they would want/like.

Do some research on perfume/cologne, and either track down or commission one you think they’d wear. You can do the same for all necessary toiletries if you’d like to take it a step further.

Play around on spotify (or your music service of choice) and make playlists for various scenarios.

Piggybacking of the last one, find a song that you would make their ringtone and think of what their contact name would be in your phone.

Pick out a ring you think would be the engagement/wedding ring they would give you.

Make paper doll's of you/ your self insert and your f/os) along with attachable paper clothes!

If you have access to a printer and a blank notebook/sketchbook along with some glue, you can make a scrapbook with pictures of your f/o(s)! You can also add drawings you made and anything like stickers, washi tape, etc.

This one is digital, edit a transparent of your f/os) into a selfie of yours to make a couples photo! You can print it out and put it in a frame. Also, Dollar Tree sells frames that you can also paint, put stickers on, anything!

There is an app called Social Dummy, create a social media world with you and all your F/O’s on it!

i had fun with the voice lines aaah but it might have some changes when i’m done with the groovy (and i’ll properly put her in an actual card template)

also slight lore drop from one of the voice lines: yuusha has experience hosting formal parties pre-twst. basically she just locks in (a bit too heavily) when she has hosting duties.

i tried my best making her purple color scheme agree with the limited color palette and i think it worked out??? idk idk--

also the cape was supposed to have patterns similar to the ceremonial robes so as to label her as someone from nrc.

i wanted to include a LOT more ruffles too but i had no patience for lining all of that 🤧

mmm, that’s such a cute idea! i feel like they would be perfect for each other, since shih tzus are known to be really playful, sweet, and sometimes shy dogs, goes well with zhou’s personality. however, both would not hesitate to defend each other, like the day they first met.

as a member of the royal family, there were certain expectations of you. royal members were supposed to be public, but not too public. they were supposed to dress fashionable, but in a modest way. they were supposed to attend charity dinners and galas, but not too many. they also were supposed to have hobbies and talents, but respectable ones.

honestly, you thought everything was a little too much. you tried your best to follow your parent’s rules, but you genuinely felt like wearing something a little more revealing or posting about a trip you had with friends would not make you any less of a good future ruler. you liked fun, and it didn’t felt fair that all your friends were busy jetting off to England and Dubai and clubbing every night when you stuck in your palace, as so not to ruin your public image.

so, unbeknownst to your mother and father, who were busy signing off on documents and giving supportive speeches, you would sneak out of the castle and bribe your private jet pilot to fly you to different “fun” places. one of the top spots you often frequented was milan or paris for fashion week.

sneaking into a runway show wasn’t very hard. the first step was the security, which you had down after much practice slipping through. shifting into your shih tzu form, you padded your way through the legs of the security guards, who let you through with a pat on the head. they always assumed you were the pampered little pet of one of the guests, which you did not hesitate to take advantage of.

the second part was avoiding the paparazzi section. luckily for you, everybody was dressed in couture, with fringes, sequins, mesh, and leather everywhere you looked. nobody even gave you a second glance when you strolled past, now dressed to the nines in a similarly fashionable outfit. you hurriedly take a random seat as the show begins, and tall, slender models strut on the stage show off the newest looks for chanel, prada, and dior. the way the fabric is draped, the colors, and the textures spin in your mind, chasing away all your worries of being a royal. why worry about your multiple language and speech writing classes when you can be swept up in the blinding lights and pretty patterns?

faster than you can realize, the show ends with a polished group of individuals that you assume to be the head designers that come out and wave a few times. overhead, the dimmed lights flash on, temporarily blinding you.

now was time for the hardest part, getting out of the show. the scraggle of paparazzi that you easily maneuvered through were now vultures, waiting to snatch up a noteworthy and reputable guest to drill questions about their outfit and their thoughts about the show. you knew that if you got caught by some reporter for elle, vogue, or some gossip magazine, you would never hear the end of it from your mother.

skirting around what looks to be like kylie jenner and gigi hadid, you make a run for it past the “pit” area of paparazzi. you weave through the crowd, even taking cover behind the icon adriana lima to avoid a reporter that you swear was looking straight at you.

you breathe a sigh of relief when you reach the exit, about to pull out your phone to send for your driver to take you back to your jet, when a hand yanks you backward.

yelping, you stagger backward to find a rather elderly but stylish old man look at you up and down.

”sweetheart,” he drawls out, sending you a suggestive smile. “you must have been one of the models up there on that stage! you’re too beautiful to not have been. whaddya say you come home with me, huh?”

still in shock, you can only stutter out incomprehensibly. while you had a few close calls with interviewers, you never had a person outright ask to take you home.

the man, as if not seeing your furrowed brows and defensive posture, continues to hold your wrist roughly. he flashes you a wad of cash in his pocket, and raises his eyebrow, as if that would easily convince you to go to his mansion wherever he lived.

before you have a chance to respond to his rather rude assumption, an impeccably dressed young man firmly yanks the older man’s hand off of your wrist.

you dash behind your savior, hiding behind the soft material of his black suit with red embellishments.

“who do you think you are?” offending elderly man snaps, annoyed. “i was talking to this young lady right here. you had no right to yank my hand like that!”

the kind man squares up. “i’m her boyfriend,” he says unwavering. “and as her boyfriend, i suggest you back away. if you didn’t want someone to yank your hand maybe you shouldn’t touch other people with them approving first!” he says to the other man, gesturing over to your cowering figure behind him.

“oh yeah?” the aged man says, “well y-“

suddenly, a look of familiarity crosses his face, a look you know full well from years of being recognized on the street.

“hey! wait a minute! aren’t you that little princess from…where was it? from that little country…” he exclaims, moving closer.

“no!” you immediately say, cutting him off. “i’m not!”

the man next to you, seeing your alarm, cuts the wrinkled old man from coming forward anymore. “okay, i need to you to stop right there. i told you that she is my girlfriend so please just leave us alone.”

he shoots you a silent look, and when you nod, he clutches your hand and bolts off with you.

you basically sag in relief when escape the situation, profusely thanking the man, who you find out is named zhou.

as a thank you, you head into the nearest coffee shop and buy him a giant cup of coffee and a cake pop (which you end up eating, because he says that he’s on a ’diet’ for his sport or something like that).

when you slide into a half-hidden booth at the back of the coffee shop with zhou, having temporarily postponed your jet back to your country, you partly cover your face with your hand just in case any lurking paparazzi or fans walk into the store. he swirls his cup of coffee in his hand, one eyebrow raised at your attempted ways to hide your face.

“i don’t mean to pry, but what was that about you being a princess back there?”

“call me your knight in shining armor!” zhou says, jokingly.

you groan into your hands. “why is that the first thing you say after i reveal this top-secret information?”

he shrugs, a grin on his face. “hey, i thought that joke was pretty funny.”

you roll your eyes, but chuckle lightly, watching as zhou sends you an exaggerated wink from across the table. behind him, you notice the quickly darkening sky. without noticing, you had chatted with your savior for over two hours, about the most random topics. perhaps this was the freedom your non-royal friends felt, being able to go into public whenever they wanted and to chat up a perfect stranger. unfortunately, your parents had a gala planned that night, for some obscure sport event that was taking place in your country. if they asked someone to fetch you to get ready, they were bound to find out that you were in a whole different part of the country, and they would probably give you hell about it.

when he sees the frown on your face, he tilts his head. “somewhere to go?” he asks, slowly gathering his empty coffee cup and used napkins.

“yeah…,” you reply sadly. “duty calls.”

zhou checks his watch, and a look of shock crosses his face. “oh shoot- i have somewhere to be as well.”

“oh!” you say, awkwardly standing up. “i guess that worked out.”

he nods, and politely walks you out the coffee shop, making sure to hold the door open for you. when your personal driver arrives in his secretive-looking car, complete with tinted windows and bulletproof doors, you wave goodbye to zhou. “thanks for…everything, i guess,” you remark. “an extra big thank you for pretending to be my boyfriend too,” you laugh.

“not a problem!” he responds, giving you a smile. he slips a red handkerchief into your hand (’can’t leave the princess without a gift,’ he had said) before shutting your car door gently. the last that you see of him is his dark hair and fancy black suit with red embellishments as he climbs into an expensive-looking car that you hadn’t noticed on the side of the street.

when you arrive back in your country, and your driver drops you off at the palace from the airport, you practically flee towards your wing of the massive house, hand still clutching zhou’s red handkerchief.

your makeup and dressing team usher you in, squeeze you into a beautiful outfit, and place a glittering tiara in your hair just as your mother walks into your spacious dressing room.

she nods approvingly when she sees your prim appearance, a similar tiara glistening in her hair.

“hello, mother,” you wave, the makeup lady still brushing powder on your nose.

“hi!” she exclaims. sending you a wave back. "you look beautiful, honey,” she compliments, giving you a hug and a kiss. she turns you around, admiring the way the materials flows nicely around you, when she sees you holding on to the piece of red cloth. she sends you a weird look, but clears her throat. “anyways, i just wanted to come in and let you know that we are leaving soon,” she states.

hurriedly, you shove the handkerchief into your mini purse and hold it behind your back as you nod your head profusely. “mhm! okay, i will go to the front in a bit!”

you are enjoying a plate of rather tasty noodles, and tuning out a speaker talking about some racing team called alfa romero, when you hear a familiar voice behind you.

”hello, princess!” someone whispers into your ear.

you jerk back, fully expecting that weird old man from the fashion show to be standing behind you. instead, in front of you, stands zhou.

”what the fuck??” you say, bewildered. “what are you doing here??”

”are princess allowed to cuss?” he asks, scrunching his brows.

you cast your plate of noodles aside, and cross your arms in front of you. “no, answer my question first!”

he scratches his head. “well…if you haven’t noticed, i’m kind of a formula 1 racing driver, and this is kind of my team..."

he points to the stage, which has a pretty obvious blown-up picture of his face next to another man with a cool-looking mullet.

your cheeks flush red. as if it couldn’t get worse, you notice that his suit has a big pin with the alfa romero logo pinned to it, which matched the racing car that was placed in the middle of the gala room. next to it sat a large plaque that had his name and the number 24 carved in thick black font.

“um…okay, so i might have just made that connection,” you mumble.

zhou laughs. “no worries. what are the chances that we meet again, though?”

half an hour later, you both find yourself in the gardens next to grand hall hosting the event, drunk and giggling on champagne. the bubbly alcohol made you feel warm and fuzzy inside. or maybe it was zhou?

you both rave about the looks at the outfits at the runway show earlier that day, about zhou’s racing career, about your daily escapades, and about every topic you can possibly think of. you think you laugh more than you ever have in years, being stuck in the palace to just study all day. caught up in your conversation, you don’t notice a certain elderly old man stumble through the bushes.

he spots the pair of you before you both spot him.

“you!” he growls out, stumbling towards the fountain that you were sitting on the edge of.

your eyes widen to the size of saucers, spotting the old man flattening the trimmed grass with each step he takes toward you.

zhou sobers up almost immediately, again placing himself in between you and the offending subject.

“can you just leave her alone?” he exclaims, using one hand to hold him back from taking another step. “i don’t even know how you got here, but you really have to get out.”

the elderly man snaps. “oh i know all about you, guanyu zhou! i am a prime investor in alfa romero, but i’m greatly reconsidering putting my hard-earned money somewhere else in light of your egregious behavior!”

with surprising strength, he shoves zhou, causing him to fall backwards, almost hitting his head on the stone of the fountain.

you gasp. without thinking clearly about the consequences, you shift into your dog form and launch your small form straight at the old man. going crazy, you bite down on his hand and yank as hard as you can. ha! you think. this will teach him for hurting others!

when zhou recovers from his second shock of the day, he hurriedly grabs you off of the old man, who quickly hobbles away, nursing his hurt hand while yelling obscenities.

zhou gently sets you on the ground, giving you a small circle of space to calm down.

you shift back, and sit on the edge of the of the water fountain like nothing had happened.

“wow, the gall of that man!” you note, shaking your head.

ignoring your comment, zhou buts in. “wait. let’s just pause and digest what just happened. was there anything else you wanted to tell me other than the fact that you are a princess and you can shapeshift?” zhou asks.

shrugging, you shake your head. “erm… no. i think that’s about it!”

Ranking Bridgerton Outfits: Season 1 Penelope

Penelope's Debut Dress, Episode 1

I love this dress! It's one of the only Penelope dresses this season with the Season 3 fit that doesn't cut the bust in half. The undertones of greenish-yellow on the cream fabric look lovely with her red hair, and the jewelery is understated and elegant for her presentation to the Queen. No notes.

2. Pink Floral Dress, Episode 2

She looks so fru-fru in the best possible way. The floral embellishments pop here and there without looking garish, and the accessories of her frilled sheer gloves and the flower-and-ribbon headpiece tie everything together so sweetly. Her hair is great too, with the one long ringlet.

3. Lacy Green Dress, Episode 3

Give Penelope more greens like this! Her hair almost reminds me of 1960s updo, and the diadem and necklace tie in well with the lace overskirt. I love the scallopy pattern of the flowers on the lace, it makes her look a bit mermaid-y!

4. Pink Feather(ington) Dress, Episode 6

This one is just so delicate and ethereal, the feathered appliques against the pink satin bodice make her look like an angel. Do you see her walking down the hallway, with that pleated skirt flowing behind her? The only thing that doesn't work with this look is the necklace, it's just too harsh for the softness of the other accessories.

5. Pink Fern Dress, Episode 3

1989 Little Mermaid, take notes. This is how you do red hair with a vibrant shade of pink.

6. Garden Ballgown, Episode 1

So pretty, almost fairy-like with the sprinkling of little flowers in her hair. Something about the overskirt with the flowers climbing up over the already flowery fabric reminds me of a rambling meadow. I don't even mind the polyester gloves, because at least they match decently well.

7. Butterfly Ballgown, Episode 1

Is it in your face? Obviously. Is it giving more Art Nouveau than 1813? Yes. But a little campy? Her prettiest yellow dress? Inexplicable how she could blend into a crowd in something like this? Yeh

8. 'Sunflower' Dress, Episode 3

Probably one of the most historically accurate costumes all season. In certain lights it gets into the nauseating yellow green that I hate on Pen, and the pink gloves are heinous, but I give love the froofy like gathered sleeves, the lower cut of the bust, and the details of the train.

9. Regency Barbie, Episode 7

Nicola Coughlan and the costume designers really predicted Diplomat Babrie all the way back in 2020. The little band of posies around the bust really makes this look for me, thought I could do without the big chunky necklace. Portia definitely picked that out for her.

10. Yellow Walking Dress, Episode 4

Cute! So cute! The shimmery polka dots remind me of a Barbie doll yet again, and the light pink trimming and rosettes under the sleeves make this one memorable for me. Surprisingly simple for a Penelope look.

11. Flowered Promo Dress, Episode 3

I do prefer the promo version with the tiara to the flower, but I'm not mad at it. I think I'd find this dress very over-the-top if it had flowered appliques all the way down, but the way they peter out into tendrils across the skirt puts me in the mind of a country garden. It's nice to see some pops of red on Pen.

12. Orange Leaf Dress, Episodes 1 and 3

I wish they gave Penelope more over-the forehead curls as opposed to the little clusters on either side of her face. Little curls on the forehead feel more 1810s than the latter. The yellow adds a lot more dimension to this fabric, and I do prefer the yellow/ruched trim to the yellow and orange ribbon/plain neckline.

13. Engagement Dress, Episode 6

I don't even mind the black waistband. In fact I'm kind of a fan-it's giving Parisian-themed bedroom-but the white lace descending from it rubs me the wrong way. Love her big, fluffy ringlets.

14. Floral Spencer, Episodes 3 and 5

It's giving a bit of Hawaiian shirt, but I kind of love the combination of the froggy green, saffron yellow, and flamingo pink. I like how the appliques overlap the edges of her spencer, the slightly overgrown vibe of some of her flowered looks really scratches my brain.

15. Yellow Flowered Dress, Episode 8

Abhor the way they did her hair here. The fabric is so dainty, but the dress is a little boring, and I hate the chunky necklaces on her.

16. Grandma's Couch Dress, Episode 7

Grandma's couch/pos. A very soft, cushy, slightly musty-smelling couch. Don't like the centered corsage, it doesn't match anything else on the outfit, and they need to stop putting that necklace with so many otherwise nice looks.

17. Pilled Dress, Episode 8

This dress looks like it's wool covered with pills, and the dark green and hot pink of her necklace and hair ornaments respectively pull my eye from the dress, which I honestly don't mind, because the fabric looks itchy as all hell.

18. Yellow Floral Promenade Outfit, Episode 2

If they'd just take away that waistband, give her a gauzier shawl, and stop piling her hair so high, this one wouldn't be half bad.

19. Yellow Dinner Dress, Episode 4

I truly do believe that pinks and greens suit Pen better than these bright yellows, or even just a more pastel yellow.

20. Dandelion Dress, Episodes 3 and 6

I understand why Pen is holding her arms like that, because having those little yellow balls rubbing against my bare skin would drive me absolutely crazy.

21. Meeting Marina Dress, Episode 1

The hair and that big ol' bow really ruin this one. The fabric looks so peachy and light with her red hair, and I just think some soft curls falling around her shoulders would make her look like such a doll.

22. Yellow Upholstery Dress, Episode 5

This looks like a Target throw pillow. Burn than necklace.

23. 'Mine Is Yellow' Evening Gown, Episode 8

I CANNOT STAND the greenish-gray look of the embroidery on the bodice, which is sad because her hair looks perfect. The cut of the bodice is cutting her bust in half.

24. Chartreuse and Pink Dress, Episode 8

Frankly pukey-looking. The pink trim makes it infinitely worse.

25. Tadpole Dress, Episode 1

Something about this fabric just reminds me of those Tiktoks of people putting frog eggs in jars. That pink shawl is not necessary.

Advanced Mahou Outfit Guide 💫

Hi guys! I hope you all are excited for more posts to come– AP exams are over, and soon school will be out for the year! To those who have upcoming school exams, or are in the final stretch of school, good luck! We believe in you :)

Now that that’s over, are you guys ready for today’s guide?

👗 INTRODUCTION TO MAHOU FASHION

If you’re no stranger to the world of magical heroes, you’ll know that they have different outfits whenever they transform. Strikingly different outfits compared to how most of us dress on the norm. Advanced magical heroes will likely know what they’re searching for in terms of outfits, however, beginner magical heroes may not know where to start– that’s what this guide is for! In this guide, I’ll be discussing a couple of tips and tricks to create your magical hero outfit!

👠 HOW DO I GET STARTED?

To get started, I recommend following some of the advice that I shared on my concept basics post– especially with making lists. I recommend making bulleted lists of what you want/don’t want, specifically in outfits. For example, writing down “I want to wear a skirt” and “I don’t want heels” already narrows down a LOT of possibilities you have for an outfit! 

Another recommendation is to decide a couple of concept themes before you create an outfit, so you can correlate your concept with your outfit. Knowing the basics can help you more than you think– know your desired motifs, colors, etc.

One more important tip, think about what you are comfortable wearing and what you’d like to embody as a magical hero. You can experiment with this by playing dress-up in your bedroom, fitting rooms, etc! Experiment with what you feel comfortable wearing in real life, so you’ll get an idea of what you’d like to wear while doing magic. If you can’t do this, then think about what you would like to wear as a magical hero. Maybe you want to try a new style, or (my personal motivation) defy societal norms/the “dress code” you were raised with. Basically, go out there and experiment! 

💄 BRAINSTORMING IDEAS

Now that you have these new ideas layed out, it’s time to brainstorm! Go out in the real world or on the wonderful world wide web and search for some outfit ideas! Here are some helpful sources for finding outfits:

Pinterest is a STAPLE for inspiration. Some keywords I recommend are “magical girl”, “magical girl oc”, “magical girl oc design”, “(your aesthetic)core outfit”, “runway outfit” and “stage outfit”!

Research some magical hero animes/games for outfit ideas! Some I recommend looking at are Madoka Magica (more specifically Magia Record since there’s like 1000 magical girls there), Precure, Girls x Heroine, Cocoppa Play, and Pripara!

tumblr (this platform teehee) is also a nice place to search for inspiration! You can use the same keywords above, just with tumblr hashtags!

Play around with dress-up apps like Gacha Life 2, Dolldivine, Everskies, Picrew, and ROBLOX (I know a couple of avatar editor games, if you want me to drop them, just ask!)

Go window shopping (or shopping if you have the money) and look at magical hero-esque outfits! You can go thrifting, to the mall, online shopping, or look at other people’s everyday outfits!

🎨 DESIGNING THE OUTFIT: SECTION 1

Now that you have inspiration and plenty of ideas to go off of, it’s time to DESIGN! You can design your outfit with any method, from creating collages off of images, to using dress-up games, drawing your design, commissioning an artist, there’s endless possibilities!

The only method I recommend you don’t use is AI art. AI art not only takes credit away from actual artists, but AI art is environmentally harmful and the algorithm searches every image on the internet, including medical records and illegal and problematic images. Mahou Planet has a rule against using AI art: “There will be no AI art usage in this server. This rule is non-negotiable. Accidentally sending AI art without knowing is understandable and can be corrected by deleting the message, however, do not promote the usage of/use AI art.” I will not be willing to argue with anyone about the morality of AI art– know it is not supported by us. There are many better alternatives that can get you a better design, and most importantly- it’s a design that you (for the most part) create yourself!

There are lots of different factors to consider for your outfit design, such as whether you have teammates, uniforms, shared outfit motifs, outfit rules, etc. We’ll go over those in this section!

TEAMMATES

If you have teammates, it may be a good idea to correlate your outfits together to show that you’re a team. 

For example, the magical girls in each Precure season have shared outfit motifs to show their team harmony. I think the Precure season that does this well is GoPri. The Cures in Go Princess Precure each have a tiara with a charm representing their outfits motif, princess-like dresses, a back bow, and a golden gem on their outfits. You can easily look at them and tell that they are a team. 

Another example of this is of Winx (specifically S1)! The simplicity of their designs, the glittery fabric, the small wings, and the boots are all correlated, even though the girls themselves all stand out with unique takes on these rules. 

Something to take from these magical girls is that they each have something to tell that they’re a team. If you are a team and want you guys to have shared outfit motifs, make sure that someone can look at a picture of your team and can tell that you guys work together.

A simpler solution to this is uniforms! Uniforms are basically a simpler way to coordinate your teammate outfits. One of the most famous examples of this is Sailor Moon: their outfits, besides some accessories, are the same. The only difference is the color scheme. This is easy for those who don’t want to design unique outfits, or want outfits to stand out in terms of color. 

Here’s a more simplified list of the pros and cons of having uniforms VS unique outfits:

Colors may be hard to remember for each member

Limited freedom of expression

Unique Outfits

Harder to design, but a more satisfied finish

Outfit and colors may be hard to remember for each member

Freedom of expression, or much freedom if there are still rules

Harder to coordinate

As you can see, I have a little bit more pros under uniforms. However, do what you want with your designs! I personally always go for unique outfits– some of the unique outfits I’ve seen in the magical hero community look STUNNING!

If you want to have unique outfits or uniforms, a good thing to implement is outfit rules. Rules are basically what you can and can’t do in a design. When I’m designing teammates, I have rules listed under DO, DO NOT, and IT DEPENDS categories.

DO is of stuff you can change, add, modify, etc. For example: you can have a unique hairstyle.

DO NOT is stuff you cannot change, no exceptions! Example: you must keep a bow on your chest.

IT DEPENDS is stuff you can modify, but may be limited. Example: You can change the shape of a skirt, but it must keep white ruffles and be in the color of your theme color.

These rules can vary based on your kind of magical hero and what you want for your team. Remember: you are the designer! Design to your heart's content and what you think looks good for you and your team! 💫

SOLO

If you’re going solo, this section may be a bit more helpful than what I said in the teammates section. Solo outfits usually apply to just yourself, so you have so much more freedom in designing your outfit. When making an outfit, don’t just focus on what looks good. Remember to design an outfit that makes you comfortable, and you only! 

If you want to have teammates in the future, or if you need more guidance on creating outfits, then it’s recommended to create outfit rules, just in case. Or if you’d like 100% freedom on outfit designs, do what you want! It’s your outfit!

THEME COLOR

Choosing a theme color is easier said than done. I see most magical heroes choose their favorite colors as their theme colors, and I have also seen magical heroes put more thought in their theme colors. Do what you want! Even if you don’t want a theme color or want multiple, you are still a valid magical hero!

For color palettes for an outfit, you can go on Pinterest for colors, or go to coolors.co to generate color palettes! A cool thing about coolors is that you can save color palettes for your magical form!

MOTIFS

Motifs are also important to decide on your outfit! To decide outfit motifs, repeating elements in your outfit, think about the theme your magical hero wants to display, or a moral lesson you’d like for whoever you’re fighting/the general public to learn. If you’re a magical hero of love, you can opt for adding heart shapes and motifs to your outfit. If you’re a magical hero of wishes, add some shooting stars on your outfit! It goes on and on for any motifs, it’s all up to you to determine how you use them.

🎨 DESIGNING THE OUTFIT: SECTION 2

For this section, I’ll go over the more detailed aspects of your design, from top to bottom! I’ll give advice on designing outfits, as well as some practical tips for your magical design.

HAIR

Probably the most famous– magical heroes are notorious for their crazy hair. Most magical heroes you see have long hair, either down or in some updo, and in the color of their theme color or an accent color. Some magical girls have their hair be a variation of their natural hair. You can have any kind of hair you’d like as a magical hero! Here are some of my tips:

Make sure your hair won’t hinder your fighting abilities- it won’t get caught in your outfit, you won’t trip on it, etc. Also, make sure your villains can’t grab your hair to pull you/catch you off guard! This is a common fighting technique and I’ve seen this absolutely destroy people in school fights. If crazy freshman can do it, your villains likely will as well.

Don’t worry about your hair being “easily recognizable” if you’re keeping your natural hair. You can always script in that no one recognizes you or use magic to ensure no one associates you with your secret identity.

As for personal recommendations, I recommend having your hair out of your face. I have bangs in real life and in my magical girl form; sometimes they’re a pain, especially on hot days. It’d kind of hinder your ability to see in your magical form. A good counter to this would be scripting the thickness or thinness of your bangs if you plan on having any, or to script that you see better once you transform (this is good for people with glasses!)

Also recommend to script that you don’t sweat when you transform. Sweat + hair = pain.

Choose a hairstyle you can fight in and feel comfortable with– if you’re not sure where to start, think about hairstyles you would like to try or hairstyles that flatter you. Even hairstyles you wear in real life would be a good start!

Don’t worry about damaging your hair with the color you choose, I’d like to imagine magic changes your hair color, and is completely damage-free! (Really wish this were the case in real life 😭)

HEADGEAR

I know a couple of magical heroes who plan on having hats or SOMETHING on their head in their magical hero form. If you’re interested in having headgear in your magical hero form, here are some precautions and tips:

I don’t want to say it’s a hindrance to have a hat (because I literally wear an ushanka in my magical hero form 💀), but try to find some way it’ll stay on your head while fighting. Unless you don’t anticipate doing crazy backflips, I’d recommend scripting that your headgear won’t fall off even in the craziest situations– or even better, it can only be taken off by your hands only.

Also script that your hat (or better: your entire mh outfit) is the exact size for you, and grows as you grow in civilian form!

Try to find some practicality in it! I see magical heroes go for goggles to replace their civilian form glasses. Some magical heroes wear hats to keep the sun out of their eyes. I had an old concept where my magic came from a top hat (if you know, you know). Hats don’t just have to be fashionable, but I wouldn’t blame you if you wanted something cool just to finish off your outfit.

If you’re looking for hat designs, a good game I recommend for inspiration is Genshin Impact! The creativity the characters have for their headgear is amazing, and I can imagine some magical hero designs based off of just hats alone. Pinterest is also a good place to look!

TOPS

Tops! This is one of my favorite parts of designing! Designing tops is always really fun. Here’s some advice:

I recommend looking up necklines or just pretty tops in general for inspiration! 

Also recommend to have a built-in bra with your top, wearing one separately would be a hassle in my opinion.

One of my biggest pet peeves with strapless tops is it falling down every 5 seconds, so if you have a strapless top, make sure you script that it won’t fall while you’re fighting. 

This is the same for sleeves in general! Script they won’t fall down.

If you have anything tied in your magical form, like ribbons, script that they won’t come out or loose.

Make sure you choose something you’re comfortable with! Script that you’re comfortable in your top, no matter what kind of top you’re going to wear in your magical form.

PSA for magical heroes who want gloves: script that you can use your phone while wearing them. I hate wearing gloves and then having to take them off just to use my phone :( 

If you aren’t planning on wearing gloves, script that you don’t leave fingerprint traces on surfaces you touch, just for security reasons!

I’d hate to continue the “YOU DON’T NEED PAINTED NAILS IF YOU’RE WEARING GLOVES DUHHH!!!!” debate, do what you want with your nails! Pinterest has gorgeous nail designs! If you are wearing gloves, I’d recommend making the color of your nails change the natural color of your nails. Long nails would probably be more of a liability than shorter ones, or you could script your nails are immune to breaking, getting damaged, falling off, etc.

A smart idea would be incorporating your outfit into some kind of use with your magic. For example, if your main weapon is guns, then I’d recommend keeping ammunition on your body, on a sling or a belt. This takes a bit more thought to be put into it, but it’s so worth it and makes a great design in the end!

BOTTOMS

Bottoms are also fun to design! In my opinion, these are the most versatile. There are different directions you can take for bottoms, SO many different directions! Here’s my advice and suggestions:

Go for what makes you the most comfortable! You are 100% a valid magical hero if you go for pants or shorts over a skirt and vice versa! It’s your outfit! If someone has a problem with how you present your magical self, they can kiss your- 💥💥/JOKE /ok but fr ignore people who have problems with your outfit they’re just insecure (/srs)

If you are planning on wearing a skirt, please script safety shorts or opt for a skort instead! I don’t think I should explain why flashing people while you’re fighting is not only embarrassing but dangerous since there are terrible and disgusting weirdos out there. 

If you’re wearing socks, script that they won’t slide down (another pet peeve of mine)

If you want to wear heels, or if your shoes are high heeled, PLEASE script that you know how to fight in heels and won’t fall or trip! Been there done that, it’s not fun. Also scripting that your feet won’t get blisters is a good precaution too!

Also, if you’re wearing a back bow/something on the back/a cape, or anything you’re scared will catch up into something while moving, script that you’re not going to get stuck or nothing will catch your clothes while you’re moving.

MAKEUP

I feel like makeup is a less commonly talked about thing when it comes to magical hero design. I think makeup is also important to consider when you’re transformed! Here are some considerations:

Make sure your makeup is sweat-proof, sensory friendly, and won’t wipe off or get ruined while fighting. Emphasis on sensory friendly, I avoid makeup in civilian form because foundation is absolutely PAINFUL.

Search for makeup styles you like, or go off of makeup you wear or would like to wear in real life! You can go for natural makeup, glamorous makeup, stage makeup, etc.

Royale High on ROBLOX is a good game to look for makeup styles! The makeup in faces (to my knowledge) is free to use! Everskies is also a good game to experiment with makeup!

Tear proof makeup works as well, just in case you end up crying in your magical hero form. 

🎤 GENERAL TIPS

Keep in mind the environment you’ll be fighting in may change depending on where you go. You may fight in the rain, in snow, on the beach, etc. It’d be a nice idea to accommodate your outfit for such conditions, or to script that your outfit is weather-proof. 

Speaking of accommodations, if you’re disabled, it’s always a great idea to script accommodations for your outfit! You can script that your outfit is sensory friendly, isn’t itchy, and (my favorite) there are no tags on your magical outfit.

I also like to script that my magical outfit is able to regulate heat/coolness! This can work for any outfit, even if you can’t find the logic behind it. It’s magic! That’s all the logic you need!

Make sure you’re able to find some way you can fight in your outfit. Even if you don’t plan on fighting, it’s a good precaution!

Kind of TMI, but if you get periods, script that your outfit is bleed-proof. This is also good if you end up getting hurt in your outfit. Also scripting that your outfit’s immune to tearing or getting injured is a great idea!

A fun way to experiment with how your magical hero outfit may look is to take a full body picture of yourself and then draw over it with your magical hero clothes. You can also dress in aspects of your magical hero outfit in real life with items you have at home (ex. wearing a top similar to the top in your magical hero form) to get a feel of what you’ll be wearing.

If you need design help, I suggest joining Mahou Planet! There are great magical hero designs there and talented designers willing to help you! Searching for inspiration, meshing different pictures of outfits together, and asking friends for help are also valid methods!

💫 CONCLUSION

In conclusion, there are about a gajillion different ways to create a magical outfit. There’s not one right or wrong way to design, or a “bad” or “good” design: what matters is that you’re comfortable in it and that it’s an outfit you love! Outfit changes are 100% valid, and I’d even recommend scripting variations of your outfit for weather/personal reasons!

Ive been procrastinating watching X-Men '97 so hard because in the first 15 minutes of the first episode there's already so much I don't like about but I just. The ONE thing that's making me want to give this series a chance is gambit istg

Idk who jubilee is I'll be fr and that makes me wary of her. I know she's a comics character (Im pretty sure) but the only X-Men content I've watched is two other of the cartoons (xmen evo and wolverine and the xmen) and she's not in those and my autism reallyyyy doesn't like change so randomly finding out about new characters is uncomfortable but she seems cool and silly I like her

I also think from what I've seen of him '97 Scott is the LEAST likeable version of himself, but also probably the most simp worthy I'll be fr that tanktop gets to me too y'all-

I also don't really like the art style. It's a cool STYLE but most of the character designs don't look quite right with it and it just. Eurgh. Idk. Gambit is like one of the only characters who I like in the xmen '97 artstyle

IT’S FINALLY DONE!

So here is the redesign for Chloe’s transformation with Mortis. It’s only been a few months since I did the first one, but I think it’s been a massive improvement.

I’ve added the different aspects of the design. Like due to the eldritch miraculous being unable to removed, the kwamii have a much stronger influence on the transformation outfit (plus I hate the skin-tight suits. Despite his favourite time being the medieval era, Mortis does have a love for 1700s fashion, so this is why the outfit is like that.

Also yes, those are moth wings hidden under the cape. A little peak as to Mortis’s form redesign.

You’ve got the explanations for the powers as well. Forgot to add that for shadows embrace the word to activate the power is ‘feed’. Also to add onto that, unlike the miracle box kwamii, the eldritch kwamii’s don’t have typical phrases to activate the powers. Only exception is Mortis for shadow’s embrace, but even then you’re not saying the name of the power.

Also pay very close attention to the different eye colours between the full body drawings and the portrait of the transformation. It’s really important.

Please excuse my shitty rapier drawing, I need to draw them more. Have forgotten to add it in the other drawings so I’m going to go back when I get the chance in the next few days, but the credit for the pose goes to Mellon-Soup on Pinterest. Go check them out, their poses are brilliant.
