We didn't have anything really weird that was just the two of us tbh, he was a simple dog who liked simple things.
One special toy I had just for Maverick was his training toy. He didn't really like tug as a reward and I didn't really care to train with tug as a reward. He liked retrieving and I liked watching him retrieve so I made him a rabbit fur ball (shoved a rabbit pelt into a small holee roller) that he could retrieve as a reward during agility and heeling. He loved it so much.
#about mav#mav memories#it was a thing i made just for mav but tbh ill probably use it (the concept) for the next dog#it was easy to make and lasted a long time#and we could do light tugging with it#the ball got super gross and i was sorting gear a few weeks ago#but thats anothing thing i havent been able to bring myself to get rid of#his terrible cat stuffy is an indulgence#it was the only toy that was just his and pike wasnt allowed to touch#most toys get chucked when they get gross or destroyed but not that stupid cat#it got sewed and fixed and washed and it persevered

Having a pet that gets fed up with your shit and is very open about it is so funny
Our cat gets annoyed by us even just talking in the same room she's napping in and she'll get up, sigh HEAVILY, and leave the room for a few minutes. If we're still talking when she comes back, she gets back to her spot, sighs AGAIN, and just stares at you until you leave or she repeats the process
She was just now mad that I was standing within a few feet of (but not in any way blocking) her water bowl, talking to mom. Mind you she has another bowl on the other side of the room, but instead of going to that one or drinking from this one, she sighed heavily, went up on the bed, and glared at me until I left sgdgdggdgdgd shithead

I'm wondering if maybe Roxy operates on the same principle of dogs that say you can't sit down without the dog being present at all times. Like does Cassie sit down literally anywhere and Roxy materialise next to her? It's not that she's desperate for attention or anything, it's just instinct to want sit next to those she cares about or something, ya know? Like if she really wants attention too, she'll do something to get it as well, but what if she operates on the Rule of Dog that dictates you can't relax or take a breather without Dog also being there?

at first i felt really guilty that the cat i picked out had all these expensive health problems and i was scared we'd find out she had internal problems as well but my dad adores this cat now lol. he can tell when i feel guilty abt money things so he's made a point several times to say how worth it it was to take in this cat and get her the surgery and treatments she needed
#she had to have almost all her teeth removed :'( pobrecita#they were in awful shape the vets were like. appalled#and she had ear mites and her ears were plugged with solid wax#but now she's so happy and healthy and loves killing and violence (rip stuffed catnip mousie toy) and snuggling#she and my dad's cat fight over him tho and it makes me jealous 😭 cats fucking love my dad#(that's partly why lily was so special bc for once my dad was not the favorite!!)#my dad has shitty male traits but i will give him points in his favor for being attuned to my insecurities and for being beloved by animals#i feel really lucky that we could do this for victoria bc her prev owner has too many cats to care for and couldn't afford it#but at first i was like oh god this is going to be expensive and it's all my fault for picking this cat#but. i don't really want to think abt what would've happened to victoria if she had gone untreated :((#her teeth were practically rotten and afaik that can spread to your organs..#she got to keep her cute little vampire fangs though!!#anyway back to work on school stuff just had some thoughts bc bibi is purring away next to me and i feel grateful

not rascal's deadbeat owner coming around when im not home and telling my roommate she's taking him for a week (our break is 4 weeks or so, implying he's gonna be back here even though That's Her Cat Not Ours) and then just picking up the new toys i bought for him and taking them with her without even asking. hey. hi. those are mine
