Reynolds’ Chronicles: Storm Eyed
(An original story)
Plot
After a past of pain and darkness, Coraline Bernardi no longer knew what it meant to live. There was only one thing that made her still feel alive: sailing. But when she lost that too, she decided to take a break from everything, leaving her past behind her and becoming Coraline De Santis. So she found herself with Melanie, her best friend, on an overseas flight towards Los Angeles, unexpectedly changing their lives forever.
Especially when she met Adrian Reynolds, a rich, arrogant and seductive boy with a pair of eyes that reminded her of the stormy sea. She knew he was trouble, because it only took one look to strike the spark between these two tormented soul mates.
Coraline and Adrian were similar but opposite at the same time. If she was the ice, he was the fire ready to melt her in his warmth. She was all that bothered him: shy, secretive, and just as proud as he was. He was everything she was obsessed with: not Italian, older and very mysterious. However, he was also a calculating soldier and a control freak. He was lethal, the possessive hunter after his prey that was her, and she liked it.
Inexperienced, but curious, about the male world and instantly recognizing that every cell of the boy screamed danger and desire, Coraline promised herself to stay away from him as much as possible. But Adrian will do everything to make that impossible and in less than no time Cory will end up trapped in that ocean of emotions, passions and experiences she had never felt before. And as a good sea lover, Coraline could do nothing but sailing between those dangerous and uncharted waters.
With the help of a new family and new friends, will Cory be able to put her life back into balance, finding herself, the light and the salvation that she has been searching for so long?

Not a fanfiction, but an original story I’m right now working on (I think my writer block is starting to disappear, finally!). I wanted to post here the plot, because I would like to share this that for me is a big step here. I don’t know, but Tumblr is a save place for me, I feel comfortable here, so here I am.
I’m writing the story in Italian and translating it at the same time, so I’m so sorry for mistakes :)
Any opinions on this? I really would appreciate any kind of feedback.
Love you!

Blatantly Partisan Party Review VI (Victoria 2022): Family First Victoria
Prior reviews: federal 2013, VIC 2014, federal 2016
What I said before: “If you want to see your freedoms wound back and expert opinion dismissed so that a small group of people can entrench their conservative religious views as the limits of what is permissible, then this is the party for you.” (federal 2016)
What I think this year: Which party actually is this? Leo Puglisi over at 6 News got plenty of mileage earlier this year out of the battle between Family First Victoria and Family First Victoria. One of those two Family Firsts gave up, while the party on the ballot is the party whose national director is currently “Eat Shit Lyle” Shelton (formerly of the Australian Conservatives and the Christian Democratic Party).
Let me—try to—explain what has happened here. You might recognise the name Family First. They were active from 2002 to 2017, with representatives in the Senate (Steve Fielding, Bob Day, Lucy Gichuhi) and some state parliaments. This was usually a result of defections or exploiting the anti-democratic Group Ticket Voting system to harvest preferences and win seats ahead of more popular parties. Steve Fielding infamously became a senator in 2004 because Labor’s group ticket placed Family First above the Greens, a preference contrary to the wishes of most Labor voters whenever they can express their own preferences (as they can now federally, or in Victoria’s lower house, but not on the larger ballot for the Legislative Council, which still uses GTV).
In 2017, Bob Day lost his seat—he ran afoul of section 44(v) of the Constitution—and the party dissolved and donated its assets to the Australian Conservatives, the now-deregistered vehicle of ex-Liberal senator Cory Bernardi. Day's replacement in the Senate, Lucy Gichuhi, became an independent and later joined the Liberals. Day recently founded the Australian Family Party, but because his former party’s assets went to the Australian Conservatives, he didn’t get them back. Rather, two former Labor MPs from the South Australian parliament (very socially conservative types associated with the Shop, Distributive, and Allied Employees Association, the most regressive trade union in the country) got hold of the Family First membership database and registered the party name with the Electoral Commision of SA. They did so with the blessing of some former Family First and Australian Conservatives participants, but certainly not all of them. This new incarnation is the one that has successfully registered with the Victorian Electoral Commission.
If your impression so far is that Protestant fundamentalist “family values” micro-party politics in Australia is a dysfunctional rabble, then you’d be spot on. If you also suspected that Family First's policies are hyper-conservative nonsense that most Christians do not support (especially those outside evangelical Protestantism), let alone most other people, then you're correct again.
This year, Family First are wasting ballot space across Victoria with candidates who oppose marriage equality, trans rights, women’s reproductive autonomy, and even anti-discrimination and equal opportunity laws. You'd think equal opportunity would be uncontroversial but these are the sorts of extremists those laws were designed to stop, so of course they're upset that they can't just summarily sack a staff member with a same-sex partner. It is non-stop bigotry and it infects their entire platform. They are even directing preferences away from Liberal leader Matthew Guy and shadow equality spokesperson James Newbury because those two are insufficiently anti-trans for Family First. Put it this way: if you are not a cisgender heterosexual individual who is waiting until marriage to have sex and then will have as many children as physically possible, then Family First thinks you should be.
This theocratic authoritarianism is not simply an inappropriate basis to govern a large and diverse community; it is riven with hate and should be repudiated loudly and thoroughly. For a party whose policies would require very strict legislation and policing, it is ironic that Family First are mad about lockdowns and pandemic powers. Furthermore, they talk a big game about the unborn, but they don’t seem to care an awful lot about your health once you’re alive. They are hypocrites and bigots and hopefully they will struggle to eke more than a handful of votes.
My recommendation: Give Family First Victoria a weak or no preference. Remember to vote below the line on the large ballot for the Legislative Council so that your preference goes where you want it to go; all ballots with 5 or more preferences marked below the line are valid votes.

Nuclear power exits Australia's energy debate, enters culture wars
Jim Green, Jun 13, 2019,  https://reneweconomy.com.au/nuclear-power-exits-australias-energy-debate-enters-culture-wars-47702/ What do these politicians and ex-politicians have in common: Clive Palmer, Tony Abbott, Cory Bernardi, Barnaby Joyce, Mark Latham, Jim Molan, Craig Kelly, Eric Abetz, and David Leyonhjelm? Yes, they’re all men, and all so far to the right of the political spectrum that…

Cory Bernardi and Freedom of Speech
Cory Bernardi and Freedom of Speech http://wp.me/p1D1R7-fY
Much has been made of the recent comments by Senator Cory Bernardi regarding his book the Conservative Revolution (see the reviews and Twitter). All I will say is that I disagree with him. Based on his expressed values I almost certainly won’t read his book. And like Bill Shorten I can give personal examples! It won’t be long until comments are offered that Cory Bernardi is exercising his freedom…

So a primary school in South Australia did a 'Do It In A Dress' day as a fundraiser to raise awareness and money for girls in Africa who cannot go to school.
An arse senator named Cory Bernardi made a misogynist comment about 'gender morphing'.
in backlash, Australians poured in donations to the schools fundraiser and they managed to raise nearly $300,000 for their cause (keep in mind their original goal was only $900) and that makes me happy

Blatantly Partisan Party Review VII (federal 2019): Australian Conservatives
Prior reviews: NSW 2019
Running where: all six states, but not in the territories.
What I said before: “Australian Conservatives is the party we never needed, comprised of some of the most disgusting people in Australian politics. It is the party founded by federal senator Cory Bernardi when he left the Liberals, and in the forthcoming federal election the lead candidate in Queensland will be Lyle Shelton of ‘eat shit Lyle’ fame.”
What I think this year: Let’s hope these bilious disagreeable people and their miserable party soon collapse in a heap and that after Cory Bernardi’s current term in the Senate expires in 2022 we never hear a thing from them ever again. Australian politics would be much better off without the hateful and self-interested bigotry that emanates from this party, the sort of policies designed with suspicion of anyone who is not a white Christian male and without reckoning on long-term consequences for social harmony or environmental stability.
It is, in fact, hard to figure out what they want to “conserve” in any broad ideological sense. They are people who cannot adjust to new information (such as deepened scientific knowledge), to change (such as new industries replacing old ones), or to difference and the acceptance of difference (such as LGBTI and Muslim people now being prominent in society). They are the people who just want everything to be exactly how it was when they were first children and became aware of the community around them, and assume any change upon that is inherently bad. We will have these fuckos in 2059 trying to enforce 2019 morality too—just remember, don’t be 2059’s Cory.
Flush this party away. Eat shit Lyle. Chew poo Cory.
My recommendation: Give this party a weak or no preference.
